Best/Worse/What did I learn today" Chat with friends old&new

oh me oh my..... never know what's going to happen next in our household........ (the whole story, in a nutshell)
3am this morning Bob got up to "walk off" a cramped toe that was doubled up towards him at the top. He got it somewhat down with his other foot, and decided to walk it off. He said the pain of the cramp was so severe that he passed out, hitting a solid oak table top leaning up against one of our bedroom walls. In hitting it, he knocked it down and it fell on him battering his ribs. I leapt out of bed, and he was all clammy from the shock I presume. I picked up the table top and re-seated it. When he was able to get up, he seemed ok, just sore where it fell on him. We went to the Dr this afternoon, and he said Bob's badly bruised it, gave him T3s and a note to stay off work until next Tuesday. His job requires a lot of lifting, twisting and bending. Right now, even walking down stairs hurts because it jars his side. As gently as I could drive, we still had to stop, go around corners, hit bumpy roads and train tracks.......
I have my darling home with me for a week anyway :-) Not the way I wanted it to happen, but it's still nice. We took the Drs note to where he works, and his boss said he'd see that Bob got paid for days off because he's good, and they will miss him.

Morning all,

Looking outside, nice to see areas that hasn't snow
Suppose to hit a high of 40 today, more melting to come

Gee I'm worried that while I'm gone the pumps will stop working and water will reach main level
Have people dropping in from time to time but doesn't take the worry away!

I think Susan, bruising can be as bad as a break, he'll enjoy you nursing him back to health.

Debbie how are yiu feeling today?

Deb,your show is this weekend right, do you go for the day only?

Barb, What are youstillsewing now that your place is out back together?

Don't think if they stopped working flooding would be insured
Just dreading leaving at this time of year

Yep, same weather, but with snow and ground frozen where there is no snow nothing can be done

Although I did lift a table and 2 chairs from under cedar trees this morning, place to sit (not). Lol

Doing same "M" have a 4:15 appt for air it and set then Rita comes over at 6:30 to finish her tote bag which her daughter will use as a diaper bag

Glad smokey is improving

Puppy show was last weekend. Bonnie was Reserve Best in Match, which was a surprise to me, since she wasn't doing too well at walking on a leash!

Today is wedding day for my daughter. I just hope I remember everything! Camera and extra batteries is in my purse, her bouquet is in water in the fridge (this is my worry that I'll forget!). Still need to press my slacks. It is a beautiful day here, supposed to reach 70, bright and sunny.

Betty, any chance Rita might stay at your house, and go back to hers off and on?
I feel your angst .. you only have to go through something like that ONCE to know how awful it is ..
I've been through it about 4-5 times over the years .. first in my parents home as a child .. the back up in their basement was SEWGAE .. I thought my poor Mom was going to choke, my Dad was at work, just her and I at home and her standing at the top of the basement stairs in tears as we watched 'isshy stuff' float along .. my brothers were married with families, but, 2 of them came over, as did the City sewer dept ..
The other times I experienced water in basements wasn't as catastrophic, but, so labour intensive re the clean up ..
Wish I could say don't worry, but, I know you will.

Thanks re Smokey .. know the day is coming when he won't 'come around' so, when he gets these 'better days', we love him up as much as possible.

Best get a shake n a shimmy goin on ..

Good morning and thank you alllllll so much for being with me!! Felt every one of you there.

Belated birthday wishes Liz, sorry I missed it.....we should party today too :)

Dianne, thank you for posting for me.

"M" you were so right, the Cardio team was the top!! Loved them all, so calming and compassionate.

Funny how life works. This problem, is most likely a birth defect and has been getting worse as I age. BUT....how it answers so many problems I had from child hood up!!

I can't, and could never raise my arms up long, can't blow dry my hair I faint, fainting in gym class in school, so much fits the pieces of this puzzle....the list goes on.

BUT waiting for final results on everything It is called Pulmonic Valve Stenosis. After the doc did the Cath, I had gotten back to my room and he had ordered more tests while I was in the hospital. They came to do further ultrasounds, xrays and all. Will review all that and hopefully have full report at my follow up next Friday.

I was awake during the entire thing, they gave me two doses of versed and I was carrying on a conversations coherently with the nurse, the doc was laughing at me.....and it was a party. haha (not really) Did have to have a high dose benedryl so he could use the contrast as I am
alergic to it, I think that knocked me out more than the versed!!!

Of all things, my restriction is NO KEYBOARD USE for a couple days as it rests on the wrist where they surgery site was, and they dont' want the artery to start bleeding from pressure there. SO, I have it swaddled and padded so I can send you all quick note.

Again, thanks for being with me....you are all the best.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

so much going on.....
Marilynne - Glad Smokey is perking up :-)

Debbie - yes, many things answered - no keyboard use for a couple of days? We'll miss you, but understand........ so, will you be able to do the stuff you couldn't before?

OH a wedding........ Congrats on the new son-in-law!

Flooding - I remember those days before Winnipeg got the Floodway built - waking up in the morning and swinging my feet to the floor only to meet cold water...... brrrr that woke me up lol Every spring.

Bob's resting in bed, not rushing himself out. oh, he's up now - we're both going to the Legion lunch today - they always have such good lunches :-)

Debbie glad to hear your home . sending healing thoughts.
congrats on the pup win. and the wedding day.
Susan sending healing thoughts for Bob. Hope he is doing better today
M sorry to hear Smokey is not eating. Poor kitty. hard to see them like that.
