Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Susan, so happy your guest got her passport. Have a wonderful time.

I have two grandson in high school. Corbin, a Senior and Ethan a Junior. Saturday night was the Senior's Sadie Hawkins dance. They all have dates but they go in a group of dates and they all are church members. When the time of the dance rolled round, one girl got stood up. Corbin texted hi mom, feeling bad for her because he knew her and my daughter was good friends with the girls mother. And the ball got rolling. My daughter called the girls mother, got an OK to substitute Ethan for stood up date from the girl. Another mother rushed out to buy matching shirts, while Ethan came home from playing tennis and got cleaned up and Corbin rushed home to pick him up. A heart breaking teenager event was avoided. I called Ethan and told him he was my hero. And I told him when he got to school today to look out because the guy that stood her up will probably sucker punch him but by the end of the day every girl in that highschool will know about your kind ways and you will be their "Hero".

The girl did not lose in this situation because Ethan is 6'1", blonde haired and a nice young man. Grandma bragging here. Sorry.

Corbin is on the left and Ethan is on the far right. It is our daughter and husband and family. Little on is 11 years old. This photo is about 2 years old. Have a great day.

Betty, I never hung up on my mother but I did a few people many times. Sorry you have to have that confrontation.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

A lovely family, Sharon. It was most kind of the kids to pull together that way. Good on them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tell Ethan he is my hero as well
How wonderful to even realize how devastated that young girl would be..
Beautiful family indeed! Thanks for the photo.

Mom called me back as though nothing happened. Asked if I was still going to take her to Buffalo this weekend.?

What I said was ' I'm not going to listen to this, goodbye' and hung up..wanted to slam the phone but did it politely

Moon .. the intricacies of Mother Nature hang in such a gentle balance .. what man does to cause that balance to shudder, can forever wound her soul ..
I do not like being around bees, have been stung a couple of times .. not badly, but, I give them safe passage away from me ..

Betty .. "Mom Muffling' is, at times, a necessary evil just so that you won't blurt out something cruel , and then REALY be in a fix !!!

Sharon, lovely picture .. and HORRAH for Ethan :-)

Back from the funeral of our old neighbour, so many familiar faces ..
Lorna's bosses funeral is still unplanned due to the circumstances of his death .. since he died in the office of the cemetery, there will be an investigation ..
His wife is holding up well .. and the kids are as well ..

Off to chop up veggies for a stir fry ..

Big hugs M, and thoughts and prayers too. Lol mom muffling!

Bev I am soooo happy ypu're happy!! I'm going to pass on the bee keeping, toof much buzzing for me!

Betty mom muffling is necessary sometimes for two reasons, to keep the peace and to keep our sanity. Lol!!! I know my mom believes in daughter muffling as well!

The medical scientists are declaring the time change a health hazard! Maybe they'll abolish it completely.

Susan so glad Susan got her passport, I bet you can't sleep from excitement!!

Well the new 5:30 comes early so night night!!

Crissy where are you working now?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Crissy .. I hate the time change in the Spring .. just seems to me like the hours are now flyng by.
Going to bed in the light, and wakening to the dark .. not pleasant ..

Grocery shopping is on the 'to do ;idt' for today .. who knows what else will sneak in there ..

Wishing everyone a splendiferous day :-)

Thank you all for your kind words regarding our home. Norm worked so hard to have things where we wanted them. I'm afraid my days of moving furniture are over. I will stick to my sewing and knitting etc. from now on....

Got the newest pneumonia shot yesterday and my arm is so sore today. Doc said it would be for a day or two. Think I'll read today and not move it more than I need to.

Temp is to be in the 40s tomorrow so I'm planning a trip to Joann's. I haven't been there in months....Should be fun-going with my neighbor upstairs.

Betty, your Mom sure knows how to push your buttons!!! And then turn around like nothing occurred. Amazing how she can do that. Does she remember at all that she made you upset?

Don't care for the bees either but sure do understand the need for them. I just keep my distance and let them get on with their business....

I wish they would do away with daylight savings too, no need for it....

Hoping all the sorrows are behind us for a while. Seems like we have had a lot this winter.

Off to do my breathing machine. Have a great day everyone~~~~~~

Morning all, spring is in the air
Best I not get to cockie as winter can give us another few difficult weeks of weather.

Crissy nice play on words re the bees 😊

Rita just called, her 10 year old grandaughter was skiing yesterday on school trip, broke her collar bone, needs surgery so Rita is heading down there for the week. Sigh

For me, going to Wasaga Beach to have lunch and see db Mike's new place
Judy it's where you and Steve spent the day, Joyce it's where we girls met those young hunks lol

On another note, I'm exhausted, was at home for part of the day, got to Greg's and a note from Noah said he was off to a friends, so I didn't cook supper, went back home till 8:30pm, no Noah, dozed off, 11:00pm cam around and I started to fret, all night worried..still no Noah

When I get back this aft if no signs that Noah has been there I'll have to. Decide what to do

Betty, have you tried calling Noah! I would, and give him the what for!

He is still a minor, and under your care. He should know better.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yeah, call him and wake him up (literally and figuratively lol) He's likely sleeping

Crissy - thanks - we're both excited to meet. A little nervous too, but that's to be expected. After all - I would be nervous if any of you came to visit me :-)
I'd want everything to be perfect. I know, I know - she's coming to visit me, not my home lol
Tomorrow's the day!!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

well he has no phone, police have it along with all the clothing he was wearing the night he was stabbed.

Jeff just got in at 4:30a.m. from Mexico..called to say high, could see I was distressed, told me not to concern myself, he'll do what he will do, right now he has no concern for anyone. I'm to leave a note with Jeff's number saying it's important to call Jeff..will do if when I get back there is no signs he's returned home.

Jeff said I must stop taking it to heart, if he's not home tonight for me to go home and have a good nights rest...easy to say

Victoria Harbour, ON

will it not be too cold for her to stay in the r.v. Susan?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, easy to say...... and Noah's incommunicado.

Absolutely not, Betty - it's heated with a very good furnace. All the comforts of home, in a smaller package. If we had a holding tank for fresh water it would be perfect. There is a grey water tank, just nothing for fresh water. We'll put a large camping water bottle in there for her, and it's just 20 ft to our home.
We've gotten keys for her so she can let herself in at any time for access to the washroom inside.
Bob thought maybe she'd be fine inside, but with him getting ready for work in the morning, sleeping on the couch would put her right in the middle of his "prep area" so that's no good.

sounds as though you thought of everything Susan
am sure you will both enjoy the visit.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Grocery shopping accomplished .. AGAIN ..!!
Hooked up with getting so many 'points' for certain purchases .. means you have to go in more frequently .. am thinking it won't last much longer ..

It RAINED on the way home and, the Crows are busy building nests ..

Betty ... I would be sick had I not heard from Noah .. I sure hope Jeff gives him what for!
DS Murray admitted to me that GDG is becoming a handful .. same age as Noah .. knows it all, and, has started SMOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sick about that ..
They have read her the riot act .. SO WHAT .. grounded her, taken her electronics away .. but, it's the way things go with most teens I guess, sure isn't easy to take though :-(

Susan .. I think it's quite nice visitng Susan ( VS ) will have her own space :-)
If Bob is anything like Gordon, the whole house is his dressing area !!
I'm sure VS will have a super time, specially in Banff.

Off to shower and wash my hair

lol "VS" visiting Susan....... well, Susan will visit Susan, so it's a noun AND a verb, right? hahahaha

Yes, my Bob is like Gordon - Bedroom, bathroom, Den & Kitchen/Dining Room/Living Room - all part & parcel of him getting ready in the morning for work........

Betty my only advice is the Serenity Prayer. Helps me in my times of need. Remember he has free will and will use it to his own interest. He is a young man and learning some things the hard way. It is unfair to those that have to watch our loved ones ,do things we don't agree on.
Every day my knee's hit the floor and i say my Serenity Prayer.
M i m sorry to hear of your GDG smoking.?? frankly i don't see how they afford it !!! price of a cigarette is crazy. I do hope she gets some sense into her.
Here is what i did with Jessica when she got out of hand. When she went to school i took away everything in her room. The only thing that was left was a mattress,1 blanket, 3 socks, 3 underwear, 2 pants, 3 shirts, 1 pair of shoes and a jacket or sweater depending on time of year.
She had to earn it all back!!!. Everything was a privilege not a necessity . I had to pay for a storage place so she couldn't get a hold of any of it. But it worked ! It took her a whole year to earn her privileges back. Sometimes they were taken away again.
It was the hardest thing i had to do. But was well worth it.

Sound advice Sue

I did not go to Wasaga Beach, haven't slept and didn't want the hour drive

Just went to Greg's, let the dogs out, Noah did not come home today.
I will have supper, have a nap, got let the dogs out and come back home

Big sigh

Hi everyone.
Sorry got so lost in the cleanup, the party, more cleanup, lol. Then last night I was hired for the day to work on the buildings paperwork. Getting paid even! Done for the day.

Betty, Man, I am sorry about Noah making you worry. Maybe you should tell him how bad he made you feel. He needs to know you are also a Person with feelings. it almost sounds like a struggle over what he has control over or not...I will continue prayers. OMG, no, demerits for that, betty. I mean you actually told her and was nice on the hangup...LOL, Sylvie and I used to do that only we slammed the receiver, 10 mins. later right back on the phone like it never happened.
Oh I sure like the new snowman runner, so cheerful.
Wow, Caeleb going off skiing, I hope he has fun and be safe. Jake and Emily were skiing quite a bit,lol now they are into bowling.

Barbara oh Barbara, How wonderful your new layout is. I like how open and roomy. That first picture i had to look at a couple times. LOL kept forgetting I was suppose to be looking at the rooms...Instead just kept smiling at Grampa Norm and the girls! I am just so happy you get to see them more.
Oh I love the little half table. Does it fold down, lol just curious. Omg The stocking are awesome! awe and I've got the biggest cheezy grin, I like your sewing room decorations, wink!! Those scissors were sew much fun to create...Just found the during pics of the Joy letters too. Oh and I like all your new furniture pieces too. You to did great now you can take it easy.

LOL, Debbie, so glad Paul made that dog run. Will be good for when he takes Sammy out, haha.
Awe, him taking a rest at your feet, that's cute.

Waiving hi Sue, glad your Basketball time is done. We did that with Julia too, actually we were advised to do that. She had to earn her stuff back too, make good choices, and follow through, that way she felt she had some kind of control...
The other thing we did was make her talk to us, and really listen to what she was telling us then We All made some decisions.

Susan!! So exited with you. My gosh, I hope you two will have a wonderful visit. Yep sounds like you got it all worked out...

Oh Betty, Hope lunch was good and a great visit.

Hiya everyone...Have to go back and read a bit.

Bahamama Party was a huge success!
1.Steve and I, wink like my outfit? 2. Our girls 3. Cigars (yuck) were smoked 4. Julia and Uncle Paul. He is her God Father and they haven't seen each other in years. AND even Laurie (SIL) came!! She doesn't go anywhere fun.

mulege, Mexico

Hi - I'm plodding along getting ready to go north. Took the Suburban in to have the oil changed, shopped for groceries. Wrote down directions to get to IRS office where I e=will live until they help me. Made an apt with my dentist in Vista, Ca for next Wednesday to have the piece of root that got left from an extraction removed. He took over the practice from the woman who had it for years and I've only seen him once. Great eye candy but maybe it was the drugs used to mask the pain,

Tomorrow we have to do bank business to get the money to pay for our land down here and to have Tony funded while I'm gone.

Dogs say forget all that and cook us some chicken. Skip the vegetables, please.

We have lettuce, parsley and beets in the garden. Blooming are the World's best hibiscus, lots of aloes, a red and white adenium and neighbor Barbara's mango tree. Lots of birds.

don't know how much is spring and how much is hot flashes but I'm down to a t-shirt and jeans.

Hands on the hips, I said who do you think you got your photo genes from?? lol. Now I got a nice camera and I was all over it! Never asked her a single time take a picture, giggle giggle, I got this! Plus, pretty much everyone was pushing the button, hahaha...how to teach old folks which button, was too funny. No one get upset, were all older. Got to love the Auto focus. easy peasy push the button! LOL many were like which button?? hehehe, some more.

What a horrible picture, those girls always got have a mean face picture, they had a ball.
More pictures to share when I get on he house computer...But I happened to find a bunch of pictures from past..Scanned every one to computer and flash drive. Watched the flash drive on the T.V during the party...was pretty neat.

No Noah, I went on his chat Facebook, left a message as I had done many times earlier and asked that he at least let me know if he was still alive

Came back with 'I'm ok'

Happy Birthday, Susan! Wishing you a wonderful day!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

What a birthday gift Susan having Susan arrive this evening
Have a sunshine day

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

:-)))
Thank you for the birthday wishes and yummmm that cake looks good!
Susan picked this day especially, to come, because it IS my birthday - what a sweetheart!
She's gone to take her dog to her daughter's, park her car there, and take a taxi to the airport (her daughter doesn't drive). Her son will look after the cats. He's the one that introduced Susan & I, and he's a darling.
Bob gave me a Celtic broach for my birthday - it's beautiful. He went to the Highland Shoppe to get it. They have lovely items there and it's where we got our kilts.
The RV is in our driveway, and my car is next door at our neighbour's (each home has 2 spots, and Bob's work vehicle is right next to the RV), and the RV is all plugged in with a camp-size bottle of water with a pump should Susan need water for any reason.
Everything is ready for her arrival - except I have to do some baking lol Not sure where to get "beaver tails" (a Canadian pastry), but will get some at some point.
Her co-workers want her to get some Canadian shot glasses lol I know lots of places to get Canadiana, so that won't be a problem.
The Only thing that I can't find is a digital camera I got from AirMiles, and then only used it for 2 weeks because Bob got me a beautiful one for our anniversary 2 years ago. Like printers, cameras are difficult to sell or give away! So I figure, with a memory card, Susan can use / have the small digital camera. She only has one in her phone.

Betty - have you heard anything more from Noah?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Apparently you've thought of everything susan
Now for the fun to begin

Seems last night he face booked his mom and said he was going out of town..just that

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

"out of town"........... geeze, that's a LOT of info............ not!!
