Thank you for the new room Betty. Keeping you company for a while longer until the afternoon shift comes in. Sitting here by the computer knitting away. I found the brightest most kinky yarn I have to make a sweater for a baby. Figured bright and kinky would keep us going....LOL

I've been checking in often. So happy things seem to be going well for Noah.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lol bright and kinky eh? Is this what you wish for the baby - to be a bright hippie? lmao I guess they don't have hippies anymore, but I watched GodSpell yesterday, so it was on my mind

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

all I can think of, is the chorus to the Battle Hymn of the Republic (I know, right? not even American, and this was it.......)
Glory, Glory Hallelujah, Glory, Glory, Hallelujah
singing it with voice cracking with emotion.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

SIL kim just called, my nephew Andrew drove to the hospital, brought treats/magazines for Greg and Mel

Said hat they still are unsure where they may send Noah, considering 'sick kids'
They will contact Midland to see if they are equipped to take him back then decide

Oh Barb, bet a bay could but be filled with sunshine wearing that sweater.
Susan keep on singing

Is Winnipeg getting this stormy weather?

Going to try napping again, not working very well
Keep getting calls

Betty - I thought of that glorious smile of Noah's, and the song just came right out........ :-)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

You do need a bit of sugar and now that the crisis is over perhaps Rita can man the phone for a while so you can nap. She can turn it on low and call you if it's important. An hour will do you a world of good.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, is your kitty back home yet?

Verona, ON

Yes Streak is now home My free kitten has become my $1000 cat. I have meds to give him (with no luck so far getting it down him). He is 28 lb and desperately needs to lose weight. He is on a special Senior, low protein kibble. Guess what he doesn't like?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

let's see now.......... doesn't like special Senior, low protein kibble? lol that was an easy one, Dianne!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh oh...... DG is "fixing" things again

Thumbnail by Tallulah_B

wow you all have been chatty ! still trying to catch up.
well trying to sell things and its not going well. The nerve of some people ! The friends are the worst. !! ???
one GF asked if she could pay for my pots set one pot at a time.... really ???
Sewing machine. They wanted to know if i was going to donate it then send it to them , they would pay shipping. Ummm ... NO!!!!! . how rude ? !
Savannah is being nasty today .. grrrr. Took her phone away. she isn't happy about it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like he is a very finicky eater! Glad to hear he is back home!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, I have found my so called friends can be the worst, when it comes to selling things. They seem to think they deserve to get it all for free.

Last year, I made one of Betty's totes, and was showing it to my neighbor, she said oh, make me a few more, and I can sell them to my friends for $20.00. When I told her the fabric alone was more than that she said, OK, I can ask for $25.00. I never made anymore of them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Lordy LindaKay, bet if you added everything up it must cost $50 just to make re supplies and that wouldn't be exaggerating..people just don't know

Sue, tell them you will let is rot before you donate it, don't they know you are selling because you need $$$. Savanah is at that age, a handful and rebelling..a must is not letting her get away with it

Wow Dianne, that is some vet bill, guess we pay it when they are our furries..wonder how many vets take advantage of our love of furries

Andrew just came and plowed me out, came to the door to ask how Noah was, both Kyle and Noah worked for his brother in construction one summer..

Then Suzanne called, dropping in on her way home from Barrie
Rita will soon be here, likely full house in a bit

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Right now that is a good thing Betty. You need them around you and they need to be with you. You can rest when they are there and they can help by being there. That's part of what friendship is all about.
Glad to hear someone is taking care of Greg and Mel. How is Kyle? This must be very scary situation for him as well. My heart is with all of you.....

It's -14 and sunny here. Have our grandson and son#2 here today. There is a boil water advisory for WPG so thought it was a good time for son to visit. Our water is good.

Betty was it Noah or Kyle that cut his hand so badly a few years ago?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg you remember? Kyle it was

Kyle just got a job in the city, believe he started yesterday or was to start today..I forget
I'll post more specifics when mind is clearer

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - just be sure you don't pull out your "company's here - I must entertain" apron........ it may be your house, but you need to step back and relax - let someone else "do". I'm sure they know where everything is, and you can let them......!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Won't be doing anything
Might ask rita to go next door and get chicken souvlaki and freak salad..one meal is enough for both of us

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

freak salad?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now you must know I mean Greak..never know what keys I hit,

Now that news is out in town getting calls
Aunt Muriel's daughter just called

Giving up trying to nap, let all the calls come in and I will sleep tomorrow

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yay Noah is alert & stable!! Awesome news!! I most certainly hope this was a wake up call for him.
Betty I know it's already been decided but that meeting over there probably has media with it and you do NOT want to be cornered by the media.
I was going to say something but I forgot.... lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yeah Betty sleep is probably futile at this point. You will pass out early this evening.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

no, actually, I didn't know you meant greek - wasn't being a Smart a**

starting to sew tiny pieces together for the RR center.......

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Dianne, you sound like me. I was given a free mini dachshund, great right? until he ruptured three discs in his back and the surgery was $6000. What can we do? We love them.

Maybe you can sleep tonight Betty. Right now you are running on your nerves. If you can't sleep tonight, some of us will sit up with you again.

Verona, ON

Betty just a word of warning - you are probably going to have media outlets contact you for a quote don't give them one. Plus there are going to be lots of rumours swhirling around don't pay any mind to them just rise above them. Do you have call display? If you do - use it. I don't want you being hurt by media twisting your words and believe me they will.
D

MY GOD BETTY !!!! i m soooooo sorry. This morning i just scrolled down and i was going to read all the post when i had time later today. I m soooo sorry. I didn't realize what was going on until 30 min ago .... oh gosh Betty. i m so sorry to hear of Noah. But am so glad he is doing better. ... aaahhh youth... to be young again :)
I have no idea why kids are killing kids ?? such tragic .
An electric blanket helped me along and sugar. The cold was frigid in my bones after i was told about Jessica. Sugar kept me from passing out. It was the only thing i could stomache. donuts and toast with jam.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Excellent advice Dianne. The last thing you need Betty is for some comment to be taken out of context or someone trying to put words in your mouth. Don't talk to them at all....Just keep saying "No comment". Can't help but think that there will be someone who would use your words against Noah....

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh, Betty! My heart has gone out to you as I've read all that has happened through the night and today. So happy that Noah made it through surgery and is now alert and smiling. I so wanted to be there for you as you have so often been there for me. Just know that my prayers are being said for continued healing and for you to get some rest. Glad the girls are around to physically be there since we here all want to be and can't.

Glad to hear the news about Gordon, too. Hope today went well for them.

Bill had a follow up with the cardiologist today. He had convinced himself that he was dying and only had about 6 months to live. So he had me believing it as well. The cardiologist said that he has NOTHING life threatening. So I was so relieved I cryed. He will have to have an ultrasound on his left leg. There is something going on there, but overall it was a very good report.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Blessings Joyce. God's blessings. He has been very good to us this year and this is only January. Prayers for finding out what is going on with Bill's leg and that it is and easy fix.

sending you hugs cookie. call if you need me .
kids had a snow day. savannah is being a pickle butt.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yaaaaaaaaaaaaay Joyce!! What perfectly awesome news!
Now Bill has lots of years to work on your Job Jar lol

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks! I just hope once he starts walking and losing more weight, the leg will become a non issue. The cardiologist did say that he thought the problem could be corrected with meds.

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

Betty,

just a thought, that officer probably wasn't even there today, if he found Noah during the night, he may have gone off duty or be at the hospital.

I know my husband would always go to the hospital with the kids that got hurt (NYC Police Officer) and try to sleep there, just so he would know if it was a good outcome.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Prayers Joyce
Glad good news

they will not transport Noah home

Greg couldn't talk as Noah was awake

I spoke to Noah, told him I was so worried, he said in a voice I could hardly hear him, he said sorry grandma, told him nothing to be sorry about
He said I love you grandma, I said love you too

Suzanne will pick me up at 5:30 and we will head down

Ann and rita are here, brought supper
They will shortly leave so I can go to sleep

They will come over in the morning to stay while plumbers work

mulege, Mexico

Another DG miracle.

I'm exhausted - radiation is still kicking my butt but is lessening.

Went to pick a lime for something I'm making - not geek salad - and the lime tree is starting to bloom.

We had some rain today - always welcome. It's still overcast.

Dogs have been fed so I'm off to lie down.

hugs, katie
