no one HAS to, but it's recommended, right, Betty? or maybe it is - HAS to - when you get a certain age,or have some infirmity....... I don't know - shouldn't have said anything lol
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? chat with friends old/new
Yes,medical/ hospital services are so much more in USA that we need to purchase additional insurance to cover the difference.
Linda's stay in Austin Texas that afternoon cost over $8k when all was said and done
Had she not had the extra likely she would have paid at least $5k
Nobody has to you are right Susan, but should something happen, major issue or accident you'd lose everything you own
When I go over for the day it's $21.00 for 3 days..it's the minimal purchase so even if gone for 1 day you pay for 3
Wow. I had no idea.
hey Betty - you have to have something, in order to lose it lol
But yeah, we Canadians don't want to pay for American medical our of our own pockets, so we buy insurance to go to the US and stay. If it's a day trip, we don't need to, of course
I stii buy t susanwhat if in an accident?
It's $325 for the year with option of 15 days in one stay..
If for one day, I'm in my car and insured for travel in the states automatically, with extra coverage.
I would not depend on that Susan, to me not worth taking the chance
Keep looking at the clock and see the 28th is soon to be..praying for "M" and Gord.

Morning
-29 so it's a cold one
watching Joyce Meyer and praying along with her for all of you and with thoughts of Gord and
"m"
Barb, hope the storm has passed and that you were toasty yesterday with hydro on..lots of clean up today!
Went and checked on what I painted yesterday, not so sure it was smart putting the texture, won't those little indies and outsides capture soil? Hmmm
Got the garbage into the bin next door, had my coffee, think I will head downstairs and finish the tote bag so I can get it in the post
Suppose to meet Linda in Barrie for lunch today, must confirm she is up for it before heading out later this a.m.
Anything exciting planned in your day?
Up early again ..
Lorna and I will be taking Lilly and Piper into the city to be groomed
A job usually Gordon and I do, and then go for breakfast, but, he's just not up for that.
Once the dogs are groomed we'll head home, get Gord and Lorna will take us back in to the hospital for the Oncologists apt at 2pm ..
I couldn't sleep most of the night thinking about it. actually feel ill this morning.
Thanks everyone for your kindness and support .. appreciate it muchly :-)
ALWAYS buy health insurance if travelling to the US .. not if I'm just going to the US/MN border to pick up a parcel, altho, there's a 3 mile stretch of road that 'who knows what' could happen on, but, the speed limit is 40mph .. figure I'm good to go on that.
Gords Aunt spent winters in St Petersburgh Fl .. her last one, at age 89, she fell and broke her hip, cost $16,000. to have her flown home for the surgery ..She had insurance ..
My paternal cousin, Claraine, is in Hospice, she's 81, just got a message she is failing .. so, may go to see her this morning after we drop the poochies off ..
ENOUGH ALREADY ..
Will be back with whatever news I receive ..
HUGS
~M~
Sending you lots of thoughts and prayers "M"!
You and Gord sure are in my thoughts today and were most of the night, just couldn't settle in.
hope you get to visit with Claraine. How is Lorna doing, problems with prothesis fixed?
Sending prayers today "M" and Katie and for whomever needs them. I so believe in them.
Well, we ended up with 27" of fluffy white stuff which finally ended last night. Will be interesting to see where the landlord puts it when he clears the parking lot. He has to provide so many spaces and doesn't have much room left.
Will finish up the top of the runner today and take a picture. It was hard to sew yesterday with Norm home. I don't like going off by myself as he is working six days a week now so time together is special. Even when it snows!!!! Spent part of the day talking of how we want to change furniture around.. Exciting eh?????
tis exciting Barb..
can't wait to see your project
know you hate leaving Norm on his own when home together but he likely enjoys some alone time as well..know he reads, any other interests?
"M" we are there with you today, you won't see us but I'm hoping you feel us.
Glad your snow has stopped Barb. Hoping you can stay in until it is cleared away and a bit milder.
changed that quick, funny they haven't kicked me off DG
darn ipad..thanks Sue
Like when David was operated we all will be in the doctor's office holding "M"s hand
Mustering all the positive energy, good thoughts and prayers and adding my hopes that all will be well.
Hugs to you and Gord, M.
Hugs for you Katie....I am glad Dana was there for you.
Hope Joel, Bill and David are all healing.
Be safe, stay warm.
Marilyn - my prayers are with you today, as are everyone else's here and elsewhere.
hehehe Betty - I saw it too - wonder why auto-correct didn't fix it for you?!?!
It's possible that we won't get much of a winter either, although we're supposed to get a lot of snow on Saturday - we shall see
I can't believe how well my leg/knee is doing 2 weeks to the day that I fell so badly. But I do know that I'm walking normally - maybe I needed to fall to loosen up my tendons, I don't know, but it sure feels wonderful to walk normally with no pain. Just a little weak from not using the muscles properly. Trust me ladies - I do know what my body's telling me, and it's wonderful news :-)
Got a lot of pieces cut for the one RR quilt I'm working on - putting them together will be the "telling" part lol
it's good there is no permanent damage Susan..saw that you were having spring like weather, at least weatherman said so.
You must almost be finished the RR piees.
there are a lot of pieces to cut for his one border, and I have 3 colours done - 2 more to do.
Tiny beginning border is on, then join all the rectangles in 4 long pieces and add to center, then another tiny border (so in total it's 3" wide)
tedious work
I cut fabric for 4 christmas tree pieces, Thunder created a monster..lol
just sewed the dresdens, going to press them and set them aside
they won't get done now but they will be ready for when I feel like doing them
Saw this "robot snow plow" and it made me smile....especially the Pikachu picture...a favorite of GS Jordan's growing up.

omg Jean, what we up in the snow region wouldn't do to have one of them..
could always ship the ice bricks to Alaska for the eskimo's who make igloo's
each rectangle, Betty, is going to be 1" x 2" (maybe less - don't want to end up with a too-wide border)
clock watching and I do mean clock
can't imagine what emotions "M" is having
Getting ready to go into the city .. nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof !!
Claraine will likely pass today .. talked at length with h er daughter, Claraine was a HUGE quilter person, won awards .. I may get to see some ..
dogs look wonderful, so white ..
REady to go in the snow ..
Thanking you all from the heart
M
yes........ watching that clock, and wondering...... praying
hey anyone remember the movie Godspell? it's on right now - very sweet musical
Jesus Christ and his disciples in 1960's New York, as hippies, a musical :-)
Bless you, Marilynne & Gord
prayers go with you "M"
will say some for Claraine so that her passing is without pain!
Looking at clock 2:00ish. Thinking of "M" and Gord, sending love and prayers.
I too am clock watching. Not that the rest of the appointments will be a walk in the park this very first one is HARD. I've already told M Club D would be there with them but I am so glad (as if I doubted!!!) we would all be there with M and Gord.
Went into Kingston yesterday and had lunch with 3 friends. My friends are shoppers and I am not but I bravely tagged along to a couple of stores. They asked me what store I wanted to go to and I said Columbia - it was a mall - and lo and behold I found a $100 coat on sale for $30 tax in.Perfect fit and one of my favourite colours.
Will check back in soon to see if M has checked in.
Dianne
Prayers going out for am and Gord.
IRS has been bugging me for years. Their latest is a Court case because they have ignored four letters I've sent with proof my income is not taxable.
Pray for the IRS to offset the curses I'm sending them.
hugs, katie
If you are like me, you almost hate to click on the thread..just so worried
Dianne, how wonderful you got out with friends and what a deal you got, nothing like a bargoon. What color?
Debbie, how are you today?
likely deserve the curses Katie for putting you through so much.
Sending special prayers and hugs to M and Gord. Hope they have something good to say to them.
Silently watching .......
Here with you
now you know how anxious we were when David needed prayers!
Just checking in.......
