Glad you are recovering Marti!
She's about to... Happy New Year!
Good news, Marti. Hang in with the physical therapy - you will be repaid for doing so. hugs, katie
yay! Marti so glad u r back and on the road to recovery... *hugs*
I start Physical Therapy on Monday. So I hope by than the pain will be gone more. It gets less and less everyday.
I found the hardest part of my surgery was getting it straight. It took me awhile to get it bent, but I thought I would never get it straight again!
Did they send you home with a machine for your leg to lay in and help movement?
No they didn't. They sent me home with an electric stimulator, but I can't get it to work. Will take it to PT on Monday and see what they say about it.
Here's the poem I wrote about PT:
Your walking won't end
If you bend and extend.
Keep working steadily and take pain killers and flex, flex, flex. We are all with you. All I got sent home with was bandages and pain killers.
hugs, katie
I am hoping it is better for you today, Marti.
I am avoiding a back surgery with PT , and they do not want me to bend or stretch at all.
it is all about strengthening my "core"
whatever, as soon as it gets warm, I'll be doing everything I'm not supposed to.
Back surgeries are not fun either Debra, I hope you go on with out it!
Oh, ouwwwieeee.... Have never had surgery and hopefully never will. So glad youare dojng good Marti. Good bless al the peeps who have helped you along the way..
It been so cold here. So cold. The bone chilling cold is so hard to handle latley. All I want to do is huddle under a blanket and hibernate. So ready for spring. Every year I get the s.a.d (depession) so bad. We really really need some sun and warm. Lol.
it is snowing here, a bit premature, it was NOT supposed to start until AFTER I got home. *sniff*
Debra our weather hasn't been very reliable either, lol. The only constant is the COLD!
My niece and nephew who are surposed to be taking care of me don't come over til I call them and beg them to come over. And they live next door so it not like a long trip.
I wish I could get out for a ride in the car. I''m going nuts stuck here in the house all the time.
Are you using a walker to walk with.
Shame on them for not helping.
I was driving about 4-5 weeks after my surgery. Once I got the staples removed, things heal quickly.
Yes, I havae a walker to use to get around in the trailer. I'm having less pain but these ted hose are driving me crazy. I want to take them off so bad, but I don't think I'm surposed too.
I had my left knee done and was driving an automatic shift van about a week later - but I didn't tell the doctor. Don't think he would have OK'd it. The first week or so is hard. I remember the worst was sitting on the toilet. Ouch!!!
What are the hose? I only had bandages I think.
katie
Those hose are there to keep you from getting a blood clot. Keep them on till the Dr. says it is OK!
Katie, the hose are like really strong support hose, and they are very difficult to put on a sore leg.
Well, I see the surgeon today in the rain. Darn!! Hopefully will get the staples and stitches out and be ready to gunho in PT.
Drive safe Mary.
Got the staples out of my incision today. Surgeon is happy with the healing, but not happy that I can not straighten my leg all the way. He wants us to be more agressive with Pt. Plus he's ordered a brace that will help straighten my leg. Have to go back to his office next Tuesday and pick it up.
Keep pushing, it will get better.
Yeow. Sure hope your nee is doing better marti. Yes shame on the family not coming over from next door. They should be ashamed.
I am off for the next two days so happy about this. Am going to lunch with a daughter and a couple friends. Will be a great time I am sure. Enjoying the warmer weather for sure. It was 47 today and on monday it is suppose to go all the way to 61. It has not been that warm in 134 days!!!! Lol
Have fun with your grand daughter...
Glad you are on the mend, Mary.
The forsythia here is already blooming..
My knee is getting better. I see the surgeon on April 2 and hope he says I can go back to work. I'm going to harass him if he says No. I don't want to lose my position.
I bet you can go back to work then, just take it easy. What type of work do you do?
I do filing and scanning at the City Hall. Most of my work is sitting down and getting up when I feel like it. No stairs to climb.
Sounds like a great job. I don't see why you could not go back!
I hope you do get to go back, I bet they miss you too!
the basement garden needs thinning, fish pond needs cleaning, and Gamera woke up. Momma EE upright colocasia has a bloom, and well, yellow clematis is blooming down there, along with morning glorys.. My nuns orchids are late so far, waking them up. I have made cuttings rooted in the fish filter which gets changed this weekend. I save the yukky filters for potting filler.
Made up three groupings tonight, separated the passion vine seedling from the kalancho pot,
( alligator plant, mother of thousands, Bonnie ( AuntB). Filled the snail planter with three batatas ( Marguerite, ) and purple wandering jew, and macho fern with two milkweeds in the center. will take pics tomorrow. Moved the little carnivorous plant the kit made from Joanna from the plastic box to a Large glass glass vase. Bonnie gave me a tub filled with columbine, and three sisters ti plant. I have to take the one or the other out until the columbine wakes up. The buddahs hands has made 4 pups , and it was a pup when I gave it to her, it just looks adorable with the red purple oxalis in it.
I am really wanting to dig and stuff, but my PT lady said don't do it. Joe hurt his back digging the potato patch and then he bent down to put a an away and felt it "snap" . we went out to long john silvers for supper. Joanna is gone to comicon up in Kansas City. I am hoping to see Charlie and his new girlfriend, and Rosemary this weekend for a BBQ. they both owe us money so they don't come over as much and I chewed them out for thinking we are bill collectors. sheese! Still have not heard from Karin and have not seen my grand daughter or grandson since the day after Christmas, and really, didn't even see Chevy Lee. ( he is 21)
I don't don't know why our relationship goes to crap every time there is a life change, but if I don't see her on her terms, she won't want to see me. So I am done. I sent Emma's stuff I got her while in Texas by mail with no return address, and used a address she had on the card she sent me and it was from "Brown" and her address. I cut it out and taped it on.
I didn't raise her, she was taken from me at age 7 and I never saw her until she was grown. then she gets mad and abandons all of us at the same time because i wouldn't loan her money. She was gone for 6 years that time. lives 13 minutes away from me.
I thought I was going to be a babysitter and hear the word Grandma a lot.
Guess I'm just not supposed to be a GRANDMA ..
That's the news from my house. good nite.
Aw, Debra so sorry. Life can be a bi... lots of the time. Family problems are the worst. Hugs to you. Money is the root of all evil. She hopefully will wake up someday and see the beauty of her family.
Sorry to hear you are going through so much Debra. Sending ((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))
Some day she will wake up.
Aww don't sweat it you guys, I am so used to it now it is easy. I was just a little disappointed, since she promised nothing would come between us again, but oh well. people change, so did I.
You guys are not going to believe this/////
Queen Emma the crinum I have had for over 5 years has sent up a BUD. I can't wait! Joe gave the thumbs up to as much as I want inside this summer. so might be trying to figure out what is to go and what is to stay again.
How exciting, Debra! It is always a joy to me when something blooms unexpectedly. Family issues are a real bummer. Thankfully my only daughter and I are pretty close, and I see my GBs a lot. I talk to her almost every day. I am sorry your daughter isn't more involved, maybe she will come around. The Birthday Bash was a big hit! Gabriel said it was even better than Chuckee Cheese Party he had last year. lol I am so glad that is over with! Shew! I will post pics later.
I think about Aunt B (Bonnie) a lot too. She used to be on these threads a lot, how is she doing? Wish I could get excited about gardening like I used to. Maybe that time will come later.
I will call Bonnie tomorrow, I miss her and need to go up to see her. If she sells her house she will be moving.
Got a lot done outside, no hurting my back.. here is the crinum bud.. so excited!
Charlie brought his g/f Jessica over today and Rose ( Joe's Oldest daughter) got to meet her. Joanna is due home from her trip tonight. Paula and Mike had a sad weekend cuz they have to take Angel Baby to the vet to be put to sleep tomorrow. She is a big golden lab and she is very sick. Feel so bad for them, that is their only "child".
We have these 3 very bonded kids, and no grand babies .in the near future they tell me.
Here is the crinum bud, and a pic of Angel while I was in Texas. Rose.. 33, Charlie.. 38 and Joanna .. 26. Until I get a grandbaby from one of them, they are all my babies.. LOL
Debra very ice pics. I love looking at photos. Am sorry for the dog. It is very hard to do that. Two dogs and a cat for me so far. My poor ole cat was 18 years old. Still miss him. He was contancorus. But that was him. Now my other cat in about 15 I think. She is getting seniel I think. How doyou tell???????
Hi everyone! tax year is almost DONE....YEAH! I will have time to keep up with you all...LOL
