Those ar beautiful! Thanks so much! Let me know how much for postage when you ship them!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I love cannas. well, we felt an earthquake, ( in Oklahoma), had snow last night, in the teens this am, and it will be up to 80 this Saturday, a lady was killed by a car backing out of a parking lot at the Dillon's grocery store in Wichita, my brother in law down in San Antonio has some kinda bad sickness with high fever and stomach problems, and my gran-daughter is being taught sensory lessons by playing with noodles. What a crazy week so far.. and that is the News from the Carson house ..

Sure hope your Brother is feeling better before you travel to Texas.

Love that picture.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

That is a great picture Debra.
LK I may have a few more colors. I need to repot them this year anyway. As soon as I get the Taxes at work done, I will try to get them sorted out. Some of the tags have come out of the pots, does it matter if they are NOID. I know what most of them are once they bloom, so I can name them when you get blooms. Most of mine grow in pots, so I don't have to worry about digging them up in the Fall, but this year I may try an experiment and plant some out in the beds to see if they reproduce more bulbs. I love Cannas, too. I would love to trade for different colors, particularly the unusual Foliage colors. If anyone out there is interested.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

NOID are fine with me.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

OK LK I will get back with you on the Cannas as soon as I figure out what is what. And I have a few other commitments I have to take care of first. Also the weather on this end is a big factor as to when I can ship. I want to make sure the temps are above freezing there too. No point sending you a box of mushy Canna bulbs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No hurry!

Anyone up for a little squash or pumpkin growing contest?

Been busy working this weekend. Now it is over.... have mknday off. I think I want to start collecting items to make some fairy houses. Last year I made some from sticks and hot glue. It did not work so good. They fell apart pretty quickly. Dissappointing. Need some other kind of bonding stuff. I did use liquid nails later in the season that worked pretty good really.

My knee surgery date got moved up to the 23rd of this month instead of the 25th. I hope I can get my car out of the driveway before I leave for surgery. Right now I''m snowed in.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers your way Marti. I hope you can find someone to clear your drive way.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Marti if you can't get out, the local fire and police depts and some volunteers have been transporting people that have to get out. You might call them and see if they can help. Good luck! We may have more snow and or Ice,by then. :(

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I'll be hoping someone helps you, too, Marti. Check out what Annette said. May be help for you.
Spring is right around the corner.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

I got a ride to Lexington. A friend is going to take me. We will go up Sunday evening get a motel room so I can shower before going to the hospital like they told me to do. My water pipes here are frozen so no water for shower here. Plus my bathroom is not heated and makes for a cold shower anyway. So from Sunday afternoon until I get home I will be off line. They are talking about putting my in a rehab unit here in Somerset, so maybe someone will come visit me. But I'm not holding my breathe for that to happen.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Can you take a laptop? They might have one at the rehab facility. They will get you up and going I bet.I Will keep praying you get taken care of. ((((((HUGS))))))

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

I don't have a laptop, but wish I did. I just need to qrit my teeth and work hard to get discharged asap. Once I'm home I'll be back on line. If they have asscess to computers at the hospital or rehab, I will try to get online and keep everyone up to date on my progress.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you have a ride. How long will rehab take? Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

mulege, Mexico

Hi marti - before I had the surgery my friend Dianne told me she was up and walking the day after and I said - tongue in cheek - well, if you could do it, so can I - and I did! It wasn't easy but I did make full use of pain killers and I kept reminding myself that the key to the best recovery is doing the rehab.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know you will do fine and I look forward to hearing about your progress. It will change your life - for the better.

hugs, katie

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

I figure I will just have to grit my teeth and push myself to get back on my feet asap. My physical therapist says that I could push to hard and the therapist will be there to insure that I dont do that.

I've cleaned off my nail polish and put my jewelry away. I am taking my car keys with me as I'm afraid to leave them here. I'm afraid my niece will come and use my car with the thought that what Aunt Mary doesn't know won't hurt her. She asked Saturday evening to use my car on Wednesday because her van is broke down. But she has been drinking beer all day and half the night, so I don't trust her with my car.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Smart thinking on your part.
Just listen to the therapist and you will be fine. Don't be shocked at the amount of bruising you will have.
When I had my knee done, i was bruised from ankle to crotch.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Linda, I had not thought about any bruising. Now I'll be prepared for it.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Hi hope everyone is doing well. I am sick of this winter!!! Just glad I don't live in Boston. Gosh KY must of gotten hit hard. So sorry to here about her pipes, I hope they don't burst.

Our MG group is going to make papercrete pots in March, we are going to teach the 4H group. I think 14 have signed up!! Wasn't expecting that many. I thought I was teaching the MG's...lol

Here is a pot I made as a demo to see how long it would take beginning to end. I really like the shape of it. Not dry yet. I am in hopes it lightens up some. The green is the plastic pot I got a dollar general for 1.50 to use as the mold. The gray one is the new pot from papercrete. I am going to sand it a little around the top to get a smoother edge.

Bruising is one of those things they usually neglect to mention, isn't it? I guess the doctors just expect you to know this stuff? Good Luck Marti, and speedy recovery!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happ, that turned out really nice!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Joyce, that is awsome.. so glad to see you here. :) We are in the middle of our winter snow blast here. It is a huge difference from Texas that is for sure.
Bruising is sometimes looking worse than it feels, I think, Marti.
Still thinking of you, girl. I can't wait to see the results.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Joyce what did you use for the center another pot ? I would love to make some of those are there any links as to how they are made ? maybe dmail them to me ty .

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Really neat pots Joyce!

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

My pipes are no longer frozen but one did brust so have the water to the trailer turned off till my fix guy can get over here and fix it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you have a fix it man!

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

So long for now. I'm shutting down the computer as my ride will be here anytime now. Love you all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Try to keep us posted Marti, Sending lots of prayers your way for a speedy recovery.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

deejay you just pat the mixture to the sides, you don't put anything in the center. Papercrete doesn't have to be as thick as hypertuffa.
I will key up the instructions and post them for you.

Hi everyone missed you all just been really busy doing taxes. I lurk and try to stay caught up as best as possible.

Sorry about all you southerns getting hit with this BAD weather, bad enough we have to go thru it but we live north.... ;(

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

I'm home from surgery and doing pretty good. Lots of pain but getting better everday.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is awesome.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)
