DGD is coming over for 2 days while she is on school break. Think we will make things for her AG doll. First I have to clean up the mess in the craft (storage) room IF that is possible. I have been going thru all the old Christmas decorations and been donating, giving to my niece and nephew, and or friends. You would not believe how much I still have left that I can't part with...lol

My DS and DBIL made me the coolest stand for my pergola. I couldn't get it in my car so I can't post a pic yet. But it is really nice! I ask for and got.....which now I have to do something a membership to our little workout place up here....geehz now I am committed...lol

Hope you got all your Christmas wishes!! We maybe grownups but no reason we can't have wishes!

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Trying to decide what I should get into today. Gbs might come for a visit. I need to go out and check on the greenhouse and see if it needs watered. It needs some serious organization and cleaning before seed starting time. Whatever I get into, I better get it in gear. lol

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Well, we all survived the visit, she is on her way back to texas, Didn't stay at the cemetery very long, too cold. DH and son are all about the football, going to take a nap before my vacation ends and Back to work I go..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas. My family left about noon, I had a turkey sandwich, and took a 2 hour nap!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Well, just woke up.. sheese! it is past 7 pm..

Joe has an old "bogey/bacall" show on until the next FOOTBALL game comes on.

It was very popular before I was born.. LOL

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas. I spent my Christmas sleeping and playing lounge lizard by myself. I'll spend New Years the same way. I got a call from a niece that lives in Calif wishing me a Merry Christmas, but the three nieces here in KY could not be bothered to call me. And one lives next door. Oh well, I try not to intrude on their lives as they can not be bothered to even check up on me.
I'm facing a total right knee replacement within the next couple of months. I'm waiting for the scheduling nurse to call me and tell me when. Plus they want me to spend a week or two in a rehab unit after surgery because I live alone and they want to make sure I'm on my feet before I go home. I've got a friend who will drive me to Lexington for the surgery and home when released from the rehab unit.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Morning all. I have been busy uncluttering the house. Tired of stuff sitting around. Susie the custard pie. Once one1 of my gmas famous. Love them so much. I am starting to feel like I may live thru this nasty cold stuff. Did not take any cold meds before I went to bed last night. Still have a cough. Now my hubby thinks he maybe coming down with it.
Sorry I am not a basketball fan. So no cheering coming from me. May the best team win...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Mary, it is so nice to see hear from you!
Sorry to hear you were alone from Christmas, but sometimes that is better than all that arguing that can go on!
Sending prayers for your knee surgery to be successful! I had my right knee done about 7 years ago, and it is very important to listen to your therapist. The hardest part is to get that leg straightened out.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you and hubby are getting sick Ronna! Hope your both feeling better soon!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks Linda. I am feeling some what better today. No medicine before bed last night. That is a plus.
anyone wanting Christmas stuff Hobby Lo by has all remaining xmas at 80 % off.I went a nd bought abunch of cute stuff. Was fun. The place was packed and selling stuff fast. Today was the first day of the sale.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you got some great deals.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Haven't been shopping much since Christmas, but I did pick up a few little things on clearance when I ran into the store to get some sinus medicine.
I had a good Christmas with my family, got some very nice gifts, but most of all, we spent it together as families should, if at all possible. I am very blessed to have relatives that can get along, for the most part. And the ones that can't get along just sit on opposite ends of the room and ignore each other. lol

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Whoa, You are brave to go out in the stores! Not me, I wait till end of January or February LOL

So, a very busy day at work has left me so tired, going to wander down to the basement gardens and see if anything is drooping.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

My Christmas present to myself was a new car. My nephew used my Jeep and rolled it. The insurance company declared it totaled and I had to get a new car. The insurance company says no one who does not have their own insurance can drive the car so my nephew can't borrow my new car. I bought a Chevy Aveo. It is a 4 door sudan black in color. I do miss the cruise control and power locks and windows, but I like the car and will get used to no cruise control. It does have a working cd player so that makes up for the other things it doesn't have.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Congrats, Marti. Glad you have something comfortable and dependable for the drives to your doctors appointments.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My oldest DS had an accident on the way to work tonight. He's sore but otherwise OK, car however is totalled. Fortunately the witnesses stayed around until the police came to verify it wasn't his fault. Hopefully his insurance will reimburse my son.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear he is OK Karen! Good luck with the insurance.

Mary, I am glad to hear you have a new car!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

He called me after he got back home (he knows what a worry wart I am). I suspect he's really sore today, he already has back & neck issues, sure didn't need this added in. He was going to still try and go to work but got talked out of it. He has his "stubborn German" fathers determination. You know the phrase "You can always tell a German, but you can't tell him much"? That's the two of them plus our youngest daughter.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Goodness there has been a lot of accidents lately! Several on the news today. Stay safe out there everyone!

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

gm yes many around here also this morning we have snow falling & its
17* on my thermometer sure feels colder . I Have left the chicken in today but will have to take water out a couple times for it freezes fast ,

Well Today is your last day of being our Christmas queen it was a joy sharing with you I Do hope you have received all your royalties if not
I 'm sure that heads will roll in the new year :) & everyone will be more attentive to our 2015 Queens.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Happy New Year to all. May you have many blessings, good health and stay safe.

I got a phone call today from an old friend of my DH. I didn't know how to get a hold of him and so glad he found an old phone book with the land line in it. He and Darwin were friends since 1946, now that is a very long time. They only talked once in while during the years and it was bothering me that I couldn't let him know of his passing. I'm looking forward to a better new year and hope to get back into some gardening this spring.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Happy New Year to you all. Linda Kay, hope you and Todd have a lovely anniversary.
