(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Throw your hands in the air Karen and yell "What will be - will be" and then go get a nice hot cup of tea!!!! You'll feel so much better! My prayers will be with you that you get all done that you want with as little hassle as possible......
Getting ready here for 9-12 inches of snow tomorrow. Supposed to be all done by midnight tomorrow night so hopefully plows will have the roads open when we need to go to Stacy's on
Thursday.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Katie, I am glad to hear you have a room to stay in.

Dr. said I have a good case of bursitis in my right hip. He gave me another steroid shot, but it does not work anymore. He told me to start taking a cane with me at all times.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Heard about the mass moving towards the east coast Barb, let's hope it settles so you can have a safe trip..it couldn't have waited a few days ow could it.? Your thanksgiving is bigger than Christmas right? Will Brandon be there?

And will you listen LindaKay? Bursitis is so very painful..feel for you. Linda goes in for surgery dec4th..which reminds me they so love their mug rugs and Texas pin

Rita called today, she is still teeter tottering re going to Florida

Mentioned flying and would I go if we flew

Told her to get me all the details and I'd let her kow..think once she sees the $$$ cost that will change her mind

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Marilynne, I'm so sorry for this diagnosis for Gord. You all will be right at the top of my prayer list.

Katie, so happy you've got a place to snuggle in to til your treatments are over. Praying for you as well.

Bill is feeling some better tonight. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for him.

Hugs to all the rest of you!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

omg - missed a lot!
My sister is footing the bill for the $3,000/month - all her health plan is used up.
it's snowy and going to be colder soon....... brrrrrrrr

When does the Santa Warren exchange gift have to be in the recipient's home? I seem to remember Dec 2?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Hmmm, best I get a move on my Santa Warren gift box, only need to pack it up and post

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just finished morning prayers for my friends here
sending warm hugs, know we are here for you

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning. Sitting here doing my breathing machine and planning my day. Think I am going to work on my Santa Warren package today. I love watching the first snow of winter so all the blinds will be open so that no matter which room room I am in I can see it. After today though, I don't want anymore until next year!!!!! LOLOL
Sending prayers this morning to all of us whether needed or not. I know I can always use His help.
Hoping Brandon gets home for tomorrow. I am not sure when he is due in from Ohio but knowing his Dad, he will be home!!!!
Norm's thumb/wrist is coming along nicely. He just is dealing with after-cast stiffness. We were a bit concerned with swelling as this was on the same arm as his first cancer surgery and most of his lymph nodes on that side of his body were removed. Gentle massage is doing the trick.

Hope you all have a great day today~~~~~~

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I think I'm awake .. but, I didn't sleep much .. pit of my stomach is sick .. mind is in a million places at once, and, every time I even THINK about Gord being ill, I get nauseous .. being a nurse is NOT helping this situation.
Gord is trying to digest all this, he has been online looking things up .. I had to tell him NOT to take all he reads to heart.
DS Murray knows and is upset but being so supportive.
Gords brother will be coming home (about 100m east of here) this weekend, hes a heavy equipment mechanic in a mine up north of here

Again, I thank you all for your support and prayers ..

Susan .. good lord, at $3000.a month, I sure hope her finances hold out ..

Betty, maybe Rita will give driving down to Fla a second glance .. air fares are so high now.

Barb and Dianne .. thank you ...

M

PS .. I touched something somewhere on this laptop, and now, the apostrophe is an è , happened to me once before too, darned if I know how to fix it. Suggestions (the question mark is É )

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Prayers being sent for all in need.

These pics are from last Sunday, the pups were born Friday night. Mom needed an emergency c-section and we lost the last two pups, but the remaining four are healthy and active. We have one boy, three girls.

Morning everyone!

Susan you are close, I went back one thread, and it says mail boxes by Dec. 1st. I need to get busy and get a few more things for my box.

Oh my goodness, look at those cute little puppies! So sorry to hear you had problems and lost 2.

"M", I can't imagine getting the news you did about Gord, but I pray you all can get all the medical help and proper info about it, so you can be at ease as much as possible. Also keeping you and Gord in our prayers!

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" a plus for Gord is that you are a nurse, magine it's not a plus for you though. Murray and family are sure to be devastated by this news, always overwhelming news but more so at this time of year.

Not a fan on checking ailments on line, many times it gives the absolute worse case senerio, worrysome indeed

Let's hope doctor's can give a more positive outlook for you when you meet

Sending you big hugs

Can't help about the computer

Dec1st for the exchange, Lordy coming soon
Better mark that a priority

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Go to Control Panel, Regions& languages, Key Board & Languages and select English. That will return you to English.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jean to the rescue! Thanks so much!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I should have asked when I was in trouble. Lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You are welcome. Necessity is why I know..grin.

Not typing much, my "Cold Age" is showing...and brought along a friend...Arthur Itis...

M, sending you and Gord and the family good thoughts and prayers and all the positive energy out there.

Katie, so very relieved you will be safer and more comfortable over this course of treatment. I think it will help you be home for Christmas and your furries.

mulege, Mexico

I saw some of this story on HLN. Thanks for posting the link. kb

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thanks so much Jean .. I think I did the right 'thing' ... :-) yep .. my apostrophe works YAY

Emotional day .. went into town to try and attempt to shop ... Lorna was driving, and I kept crying .. Christmas shopping is NOT going to be good this year .. bought Gord a beautiful blue velour sweater and stood there holding it with tears running down my face .. this is definitely going to be a gift card Christmas ..
Barb, I reread your post re you and Norm, I just hope I can 'buck up' .. I sure do have one achy breaky heart and 2 eyes that seem to want to shed tears at the drop of a hat !
DS and family are coming out on the weekend, I sure hope I can handle that .. Gord is being very quiet about everything, and, I am not pressing him .. he's very tired ..

Love the puppy pics .. and glad that Katie is housed in a motel :-)

Spags for supper, best haul out some sauce ..

MANY thanks to all of you for your support and prayers ..

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't let Gord keep it in too long, it is better if he talks about it, and maybe cries along with you?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Aw....new puppies! So sweet!

Did you see where that Great Dane gave birth to 19? That's not a typo either! One nine!
Wowza!

Sending more hugs your way, M.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I do agree, but he probably won't right away.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" there are words, it's natural to go through every emotion in the spectrum..you will have to go back on your knowledge dealing with similar situation..nothing on earth can ever prepare you for this journey. Cry, cry and cry some more. I'm sure nder the circumstances the kids wont be expecting anything but paper gifts though it might keep your mind occupied..a good family Christmas might be what Gord needs right now..he will sense how worried you are if you don't..one just doesn't know what to do, talk, not tal, coddle, ot coddle.

I remember roger telling the boys " next time I get sick send yur mom to Florida"

Seeing those puppies you just want to rush out and get a puppy, too bad they don't stay pups

Holy LndaKay..19

Jean, enjoyed the link , think furries are smarter than we

Janice called yesterday and asked if she could come over tonight to get caught up to Rita, said it was ok but now that tonight has arrived wishing I had said no

Ohhhh Thanksgiving eve, bet there is a lot of to do in your houses tonight

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

"M" I sure hope you were not offended by my post regarding Gord. I know sometimes I can sound like I'm preaching and that was not the case. I just want you to try to take care of you too so you will be able to take care of Gord. I'm sure that when the time comes for "bucking up" you will be ten feet tall......Praying night and day.....
Sending prayers for you too Katie. I'm so glad to read you are in a hotel!!! Much safer I hope.
Waving to everyone and wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

I'm sorry for your news Marilynne, I know you don't know me but I know how it feels when the bottom drops out of your world. My prayers for you are that 2015 will bring better days and news
Terri

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, all of us here know anything said is only in the best interest of the other.
Know I never take offence even when you all are giving me the what for, not that I don't deserve the what for

Waving Terri..so glad "M" is staying with us at this time..prayers and tight hugs is what she needs.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Thanksgiving
May today be special for you and yours...just don't work too hard and enjoy

Would have been my 49th wedding Anniversary today...good memories

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my 'Murican friends!

Tomorrow, when I have a little more "wherewithall" I'll post some pleasant news...... tonight, I'm just worn out

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

GOBBLE GOBBLE .. Happy Day of Thanksgiving !!

Terri .. thank you, sincerely .. I appreciate your kindness.

Barb, your post was absolutely wonderful .. I have to be careful .. Irish + nurse = a 'fusser'!
Gord is a very low key kinda fella, he needs me to be his voice a lot of times .. he isn't the least bit outspoken .. so, when questions will need to asked, I shall do it ..
Never have I ever been offended by anything anyone has said on the thread (hmmm that rhymes) :-)
I appreciate all of you, and know I can come here for support ..

Betty, Happy 49th ... glad your memories are good ones !!

SO cold here .. -10F .. but .. in Celsius it sound s so much colder LOL .. -24C with a windchill of -33C

I do so hope all of you are going to have a wonderful extended weekend in the US .. I see the storm in the east has dissipated a bit. Have a friend from upstate NY IN NY city visiting her sister .. says the snow is quite something ..

Have a hungry kitty cat to feed ..

HUGS to all of you, along with heartfelt thanks ..

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and a blessed day for you Betty. Memories are made this day and relived always...
Got 10 inches of snow here last night so it will be a fun drive to our daughter's home for dinner.
I'm thrilled to have learned that one of my sons and his family is joining us for Thanksgiving for the first time in at least 15 years!!! He ran a restaurant and no longer does so he is free to come now. Can't wait to get t here...Brandon made it home too!
Love to all along with my prayers.
Barb

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Happy Thanksgiving to all have a wonderful day. Barb sure yours will be especially so. Be careful out there.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh Barb how exciting, what a great Thanksgiving you will have. Know Norm will be careful driving but yet I must say..drive safely! With Brandon home for Thanksgiving will it mean he is still able to come home for Christmas?

Thanks "M" memories are good ones..was just thinking as of next next he will be gone as long as we were married..died few weeks after our 25th..
doubt the boys would remember this date...boys!

Did read on Jeff's facebook page that he was downtown Toronto, a homeless man was sitting in a corner, everyone passing by..he stopped and gave him $$$$$, thankful for what he himself has..guess I raised those boys right. Should ask if he gave my christmas pressie $$$ away lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Betty, you and family are always so generous, how nice to hear about Jeff giving to the homeless.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

M, sending hugs and many prayers with everyone else. I also will ditto what Barb said. I so well remember the day we were told that my late husband had the "c" word.....tons of tears but I did find when I finished, I was able to do and cope. Not easy but somehow you do it and it comes from deep down with the love you have for that person. Like the others, I am here; least I can do in return for all the "others" that were there for me.

Katie, so very happy to hear you are in a room....much stress lifted. It is strange how we all are here, never met (well most of us..have met some) but there is this strong bond of love and friendship. There are some really wonderful things in this world still.

Diane, what part of the turkey do you like? Have a huge in the over and will carve you a slice or 2 or 3. Love turkey for the main meal but I can hardly wait until I can have my turkey sandwich on rye bread later tonight. Yeap, I bake a turkey just for the sandwiches. :-)

Wish everyone on this side of the border a wonderful, healthy Thanksgiving. Me, I am thankful for everyone here and my family I have left. Life is good.

Verona, ON

HappyThanksgiving everyone! I am so glad you are all in my life.

Love white meat Marion. I am with you - the sammies after are the best part. Yum!!!

Like Gord M my Warren was very reticent to ask questions so I became his voice. I kept a daily journey especially when he had doc apptments. Know it will be harder for you M but I know your nurse's voice will kick in at just the right time. We are all there with you every step of the way.

Safe travels those if you who have to venture out.

Very exciting news about your son joining you Barb.

Had a 'Lucy' moment yesterday and almost needed the Fire Department. Almost set miles of bush on fire with what I thought were dead ashes . Ooops! I haven't moved this chubby little body so fast in ages.
D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, I love turkey sandwiches!

Dianne, you need to be careful with those ashes. You need a big metal barrel to dispose of them properly. How are the dogs doing, and how is your shoulder doing.

I have been told my shoulder pain was anything from frozen shoulder to bursitis. My last visit to the Dr, done an ultra sound, and said it was just like my hip, bursitis! Not much they can do for it, and pain pills don't help much!
