We are getting a guyger counter and splitting the price and are going to take it to all the places we want to go, He is talking about Denver where he has a son and ALASKA!!!! I am still in shock, Love you all. Bev

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Bev, all is certainly well with you .. would the Alaska trip be a cruise?
Know lots who have done the Alaska Cruise, say it's a wonderful time ..
ENJOY :-)

Betty, how is Noah?
Has Mel's Grandma's service taken place, was wondering re the snow situation.
My gosh, what a horrifying thing to happen to 'JIM' ..

Had a fun time at coffee .. when I got home there were 2 YouTube clips waiting for me in email .. OMG!! I laughed so hard .. would share them, but, what makes ME laugh, and others laugh are 2 different things all together ..

Just finished dusting the living room, the ONE drawback from a woodstove ..

Worry about Dianne .. sure do hope all is well with her and Diesel and the Dukester ..

HIYA to everyone, going to play a couple of games of cards ..

Katie - yes, glad you have your reading! Can lose myself for hours in a good book :-) Usually use my e-book, and right now am trying to clear out "extra" stuff from the house lol
Take care of yourself - glad to hear the weather is so nice :-)

Sue - take care of that back! Nothing like a sore back to make you realize how much you use it......

Susan - very nice to see you posting! Happy to know you're feeling better :-)

Debbie - hooray that you're not caught in that awful snow - those poor people, having no gas or food to stock their shelves! Hope some are people who stock up, near people who don't....... I'll bet there are a lot of new relationships being created by this sudden need.......

Bev!! wow - been so long since I've seen you post - congrats on having someone treat you so well. :-)

Marilyn - brrrrrrrrr on the temp. It's +7C here now.....

Betty - Judy's right, you're a good friend to have :-)

and if I missed anyone, my apologies - I love you, my sisters!!!!!

btw - Alice's birthday tomorrow - so glad she's going to be home for it! She's going to have family come to see her - she'll be 73
I just spoke to her for 5 min. Didn't want to tire her out. She has some sort of throat infection and the doctor took a swab to see if it's strep throat. He didn't give her any meds for it, but will let her know if it is strep.
AND she has (in her words) some "hellishly expensive meds" to take for the blood clots etc - that she injects through her stomach - $3k / month..... in April the cost will be waived by Cdn medicare. In the meantime, what she had coverage for has been eaten up by other meds, so she has no more med coverage until April and has to foot the bill for everything now. I guess the medicare has its fiscal year start in April so that's why it will take care of it all then. Hopefully she gets it from now on, for free - I think that's what she said.

Yes "M" memorial was yesterday. How I wish I had a wood stove vs electric, so toasty, always feel a chill

Am concerned about Dianne as well..know she was taking Diesel to the vet, o easy task and her computer system was down, can only hooe that's the reason

No updates on Noah, never know if that is good news or bad news

Susan, expensive to get sick isn't it..wish Alice a happy i irthday, here is hoping she is on the mend. How is your mom doing?

Susan (101) hope you are now feeling better and taking Moses on walks..think you deserve stopping in for a donut! Are all your plants brought in?

Katie, hope you are behaving, getting rest so that you've built up mega strength to go threw your treatment...where have you been staying (parked)? So worry about you doing that..do you keep in touch with tony?

Well you can call me a fuzzie sizzle, perm and cut, tub running. Nice hot bath, nto Jammie's and nowhere to go this weekend, let's hope it stays that way

Bev isn't it wonderful to have someone who treats you good. :)
glad Alice is doing better. but ouch on the med's to take.
Katie hope things are going ok ?
Betty sounds like a good idea with the bath and warm jammies
M them are so wicked temps you have ! yikes
back is doing ok. went to gym , stretched it out .

mulege, Mexico

Hi Everyone, Just a quick note to let you know I got mapped and tattooed. Will start radiation on Dec 1 and finish on Dec 21 if there are no complications.

I have several places where I park and have never had any trouble. Have made casual acquaintences of some other campers. I may rent a motel room for next week or I may go look for a beach. Will get some sleep tonight and then think some more.

All is going fine. I just keep the blinders on.

My friend Maria who lives up the hill from me trades emails with me and she reports to Tony. I could email his son but Maria also is there to provide back-up for Tony if he needs it, especially with his parents - she is a nurse.

More soon, don't worry if I'm not here for a few days - I may be sleeping.

hugs, katie

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Katie, it seems you have things under control .. I wish you well .. take care, and, stay safe ..

Sue, glad your back is feeling better :-)

Susan, in Ontario we have the Trillium Fund that helps to pay for outrageously priced meds. I am almost positive Cancer Care Manitoba must have some channel to be followed for assistance ..
Best of luck to Alice ..

Bet your hair looks 'spiffy d' Betty :-)
Hope your weekend remains calm and productive ..

LAUNDRY weekend here, like every weekend .. have a bank apt at 1pm
Lorna's cortisone shot SEEMS to have worked, a bit :-( at least it's better than it was ..never quite seen anyone get so excited about Xmas! .. AND, she has a bad habit od coming out with a gift she has put away and giving it to you because she just can't stand the person not HAVING the gift LoL ..

22F this morning, a balmy day
Best get at it ..

TOODLES

~M~

good morning everyone.
slept in
took dogs out to potty , raining may develope freezing rain ? by tonight ?
Hope to get my laundry done lololol
still pretty tired ? don't know why.
hope you all have a great day.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah to be treated like a china doll must be absolutely wonderful. Forgot how that feels after 10 years. Enjoy every nano second Bev.

Sleepy this morning! Kim and I were to get together with the other Spanish teacher and his wife last night to celebrate a week off from classes. Well before we know it, the party mushroomed into a huge group..thankfully they know Kim quite well at the Mexican place we went for dinner. They just keep putting tables together in their back room and needless to say we had a blast. My sides still ache from all the laughter. So good to see Kim laughing and smiling after all the trouble she has had at school. Insert *happy mom*.

If anyone hears from Dianne, please keep me in the loop. I worry about her..well all of you for that matter. Katie, getting a motel room might be a great idea for a while. My late hubby didn't have many side effects from the radiation but oh the laughs we did have about the mapping on his body. Keeping you in my prayers!!!

Sue, take care of the back.

Waving to all the others. Need to get dressed and make a run to Costco before it gets to busy. Home and settle in to watch the football game. Yeap, I am a football junkie..been a tough week for FSU with the shootings but the entire town has pulled together in support so we will make it though this!!! Such senseless happenings.

Haven't had to read. Lots hoing on here. A very good friend committed suicide this week

Morning everyone.

Dianne, so sorry to hear about your friend. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Katie that sounds like such a LNG wait, Dec1st, bet you just want to get n there and get it started. You might want to save your hotel time for when you are having your treatments.
Great that you have contact with Maria

My heart goes out to you Dianne, sad to lose a friend and even more so n that fashion!

Marion, what a lovely evening you and Kim had, nice just to unwind

Sue, hoping freezing rain passes you by..nice sometimes to make it a Jammie day

Oh my "M" Lorna and I are the same, it's all about the giving, the spirit of Christmas and ot just the day. Mel just left with a snowman wine glass, a snowman floormat and a t/towel embroidered 'let it flow, let it flow, let is flow..she loves wine so got a kick of the wine glasses on it. Glad she is feeling better.

Mel just spend last few hours watching a movie, she is on her way to Fabricland, wants to make some lounge chair covers for her mom for Christmas..suppose to be a 50% off today only, asked if I wanted to go, nope it's lounge day for a me..

She loved my quilt throw that lights up, have a couple hurs left on the 2nd one, if she drops in on her way hme I'll give it to her.

She said she loves to tree rotating, reminded her I gave her a tree base the same, she doesn't recall. Greg is home with the flu so she'll not ask him to look for it til he's better.

Have all the light that twinkle on throughout the Ouse, relaxing, so far a perfect Betty day

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear it is a relaxing jammy day for you Betty. I am going out to the dollar store for more wine glasses, to make more snowmen candle holders. I will get them done after I finish the mats you sent.

Marion, enjoy your football game today! Glad to hear you had a good time last night with Kim and friends!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well aren't you the little crafter LindaKay, glad you are enjoying making Christmas projects

Girl after my own heart! Great way to relax

Decided I can relax better if I get dressed so hot bath is running then I'll put on a sloppy joe outfit..if Mel drops in on her way home her throw with lights is ready

Still have one let to finish, likely not today though

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mel dropped in all excited
bought a bunch of towels and is making Christmas gifts 'covers for lounge chairs'
Guess Greg went out and book a trip for he and she as their Christmas gift for Jamaica, time for them both to get away. She remembered seeing someone with these covers so one for her, one for Greg and one for her friend Janice..think they are 8 going mid January.

of course she asked if she could do them here so if I had any suggestions as to 'how' I could help out. they are a quick easy project, love color choices when purchasing towels

she put drop pocket on the side, will buy suntan lotion, book etc and fill the pocket and there, a fun gift

what I didn't need was another project but I just might made a set for Julie and Jeff as they travel to the islands a lot.

Noah called, needed a ride to a friends so off she went but asked if she could come back and do the other 2.. guess it won't be an early night. She loves her lit wall hanging..glad of that.

will show you the finished project, right now Missy says she is not moving!

Bet they all wish that could be the ate they paid, over triple from here.

Change in the weather here, great for snow man making

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Maybe the rates would be better for them to drive across the border to Buffalo and fly from there.?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Might be a good idea for next year

Trip all inclusive already booked and paid for

Greg has been home with the flu,,I'm up, nauseated, surely I could so quickly pick it up from Mel?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Couldn't sleep so no Sunday morning sleep n for me..

Told Mel to come early to finish her 3 towel covers..she said early likely would not be 7am. Lol

In the meantime I think I'll get one of the last 2 quilts I have remaining on the frame

What exciting do you all planned?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

I sure hope your not getting the flu. Does Mel have any signs of it?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Mel and Greg and friends will enjoy Jamaica ..
Have been there, the only thing I found distracting, was, the poverty as we drove to the resort from the airport.
Beautiful weather, awesome ocean ..

Sure hope you haven't the flu Betty .. my go round with it 2-3 weeks ago for 3 days was enough for the rest of my lifetime !
Hope you feel better as the day progresses ..

Supposedlyrain here today followed by 3" of snow on Monday .. since the weather liars are seldom 'spot on', we'll just have to prepare for anything and everything ..

Barb .. did Norm have his cast off, how are you feeling ? Is your sweater taking shape :-)

Susan .. how's Alice doing?

Katie .. hoping you have a nice day,in the sun :-)

Dianne, my condolences on the tragic loss of your dear friend ..

SueT, how's the back today ?

Moon .. lots of folks from Thunder Bay drive either the 300 miles to Duluth MN, or the 500 Miles to Minneapolis to catch flights headed south, USED to be a bargain .. but .. not anymore ..

Hope everyone has an waesome day doin whatever it is you chose to do, be safe, and, keep warm :-)

We had to make a quick run down state. My aunt who is also my best friend called and her hubby Who has lived in a home for two years had come to his final hours. We have spent so much time together and even stood up for them at their wedding. We got here in time, he passed just after two this morning. There will be a memorial service for him after Thanksgiving.

Her children will be arriving later and we will head home this evening once I know she won't be alone.

They had a wonderful life together, were high school sweethearts. Life happened and they each married others. They came back together over 30 years later and have have 37 years.

Is what fairy tales are made of Karen..my condolences
difficult losing a friend
weather I think will be ok for your travelling right?

should look at the news and see how Buffalo is making out

it's an absolutely gorgeous day out there

Mel just left but not before she helped me bring in a few totes from the back

there are about 5 that I won't even look in, I've come to the conclusion I've far too much Christmas in totes.

I connected the lights to the music system and the moving flakes, set the machine back a bit but won't be able to tell what it looks like until I go out tonight

found a roll of mesh silver netting, Mel asked what I was going to do with it, told her to come back tonight and bet it will become something pretty for her to take home.

have about 1/2 hr left setting up the first of 2 quilt tops I have on the frame

Betty .. what exactly will Mel use the 'chair lounge covers' for?
At first I thought they were bathing suit cover ups, but, I'm thinking no ..

Just bathed and sorta groomed Zoey .. she is SO placid .. we really got a good pup when we re homed her .. THEN, we tried to do some scissoring around Lilly's eyes .. hmmm .. she can be NASTY!! Am thinking the groomer must muzzle her ..

Foggy out there, looks as though it's going to stay for the day ..

Karen, condolence on your family loss ...

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm so sorry for your loss Karen. But what a wonderful relationship.

Norm took me out to do some shopping today. It is hard for me to go to more than one place when I need to lift the walker out of the car and then put it back in. So much easier when he can do it for me. Went to two craft stores, a card shop, Wally's and a Michaels. Such a fun day for me. Now I need to get busy.

The sweater is coming along "M". the body is done and next is the sleeves. I've been busy doing mittens for the Library mitten tree-up to twelve pair now. Also did scarves for all the grands and two of my DILs. Just have my daughter's left to make.

And been busy putting my package together for the Santa Warren swap. I'm still not sure when Sean will be here to do Betty's project with me. Hopefully I will find out Thanksgiving.....

Hoping all is well. Worried about Dianne. Hope she is okay and that Diesel will be okay too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" you know when you are at a resort and you take a towel to lay on the chaise lounge, guess marking your spot, well these fit over the top of the chair, ties to the chair and has a pocket for misc. items you'd bring to the beach.

I was going to offer to embroider them but I thought better of it, enough of my own work to do.

worry about Dianne as well, must be more than difficult, in fact overwhelming dealing with all when you are alone and far from everyone.

Oh Barb, you'll not have to go back out till spring. Lots of craft ideas that when you get tired of one you can change to another.

the tote Mel brought in was full of Christmas bags/cards/tags

ran out of big bags so just set those items on the bed, did manage to get lots put in Christmas bags though. Tomorrow I'll get out and purchase more tissue and bags

only a few items remain unfinished and my goal is to have them done by Dec.1st
here's hoping

Biggest project is painting Paul's house on this enormous sign..soooo heavy
