Judy .. love your posts .. I laugh and chuckle and agree and think .
You must have been like Robin Williams in Mrs Doubtfire..zinging across the veranda floor :-)
Betty, nothing I can say or do, unfortunately, will help you or Greg or Mel .. Noah obviously is a troubled teen, there are so many, and there are so many places to get help, but, unless the teen WANTS the help, well, no use trying .. they tend to get even more spiteful ..
Love the floor mats, and the quilt is lovely ..
Lorna had her pneumonia shot today .. then I picked up my DGD for her job .. she serves at banquets at a local five start hotel, she went in to change, and when she came out, WOW, oh to have taken a picture, hair up, little makeup, and a cute little uniform .. she looked too dang cute !!!!
She's out late though, so hope her school work doesn't suffer :-(
Best get supper on the make ..
HUGS
Hey Katie .. stay safe
~M~
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends new/old
Be back to gab re your posts, just need a 1/2 hr nap
Lol! And I'm picturing Tom Cruise in his underwear sliding across the floor!
Hugs, Katie, stay strong!
Betty, I'm so sorry about Noah. You hadn't said anything for a while and I was hoping all was going well. Prayers and hugs coming North for you and the family.
Speaking of Manheim Steamroller...I love them, too, but I'm actually going to see Trans Siberian Orchestra on Dec. 6th. Can't wait. I saw them once before but they're at a much bigger and better venue this time!
Had movie night last night with Sherry, Kathy and Sharon here at our house. I fixed dinner. I must say I did good!! I fixed marinated pork tenderloin, roasted potatoes, cranberry salad with lemon dressing, homemade rolls and homemade apple pie. Yum! We watched the cutest movie...Seconhand Lions. We all loved it!
Hope you're all staying warm and dry! It's 13 here right now heading for 9. Yuk.
Katie i can relate to your story. anyone who has ever dealt with mental illness has that same or can identify with those feelings. I had to get to that place also. Not fun to admit as i m a mother of a child with mental illness, She didn't commit suicide but tried several times . My story is different but mental illness is unkind to those around them.
Cookie i m so jealous ! Trans Siberian is our fav too. I was thinking of getting tix but won't be able too :(
Betty such wonderful pics . What fun you all had.
Is anyone else watching Master Chef Jr ? oh my gosh , its so cute !! kids cooking like pro's ! and competing . such fun to watch.
ANOTHER up and at'em day in the freezing COLD .. slightly warmer today at 6F.
Lorna is hoping to have a cortisone shot into her right knee .. I cringe at the thought, but, the one done in August really did help her .. and that's always good :-)
Betty I hope things your way are getting a bit better ... all I can offer is support from afar as well as hugs ..
Sue, have seen clips of that show "Master Chef Jr", the kids look so intent on their meals !!
Best scorf down some toast and a cuppa and get ready to face the cold ..
TOODLES
~M~
Judy, I'm so smilling, can imagine you picking up a broom, pretending it's your night in shinning armor and dancing around to tunes, of course only because Steve isn't home or he'd be dancing along with you.
yuk "M", it would have to have helped for Lorna to want to get another..do you personally think working this past summer did her more injury? How's Gord?
Sue, heart goes out to you, you've been through so much..
Marion, Kim's birthday today..helping her blow out her candles, do hope I get to eat a slice seeing as I helped with the blowing.
Joyce, hope you gals were planning another Canadian trip while having your din/din
Katie, hope you are settling in and can post how your treatments are going.Where do you park your vehicle as to feel safe during the night?
Jean always great words of wisdom..are you feeling any better?
Another snow day..buses aren't running
got an e-mail saying fabric store in Barrie closed..they are not sure what to do with the snow
me thinks they weren't prepared for winter to come so early
should bet out and shovel but coffee and porridge sounds more to my liking
got the quilt off the frame and have the snowman throw that both need bindings so that will be my goal for the day, that and the last no sew blanket that is 1/2 way done..brings thems to a total of 12
Betty, did you quilt over the snowman? I can't tell from the picture. Almost looks like you quilted around him...
good morning all
Betty - terribly tough all that family's going through with Mel's grandma passing, and Noah...... btw - it's always all about the one who's having "issues", right? All that drama........ Was he listening? who knows......
My prayers and love go out to you for all you're doing and all everyone's been through
katie, katie, katie - of course all our prayers are helping this sweet lady see you home for Christmas! That's what prayers are for - to nudge the hearts of people! Glad to hear you're going to be able to spend some time in a hotel, and not just camp out in your vehicle :-)
Happy Birthday, Kim! Hope it's wonderful :-)
Last night when I spoke to one of the nurses at the hospital, they said that Alice may be going home today!! Yaaaaaay! They still have to show her how to use a needle in her stomach, for the blood clots, but as long as she takes it easy and does a lot of resting, they will let her go home :-)
I haven't spoken to them today yet. I asked if she had a phone in her room, and they said she could call me - until I told them it was long distance.......
Lots to love to all my sisters - I hope and pray that whatever troubles you're going through will be lessened, as I know your hearts grow bigger........... :-)
What did I learn? Well, I learned about a new instrument, called the Hang
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1165750176802670&set=vb.166337376743960&type=2&theater
oh lordy, better fine tune some of my pans and see what music I can make
thanks for the link Susan
need to be out shovelling but think if I wait until spring it might melt
oh no, best I not do that, more basement flooding lol
called Bernie, I'm going to pick up yet another pump and he'll install it, soon there will be no room for water as it will be filled with pumps (grining)
Loved the link Susan .. very mellow music, AND, as someone commented, nice 'eye candy' as well .. nudge, nudge/ wink/wink :-)
I had the heparin injections into my belly after my hip surgery, a little sting went along with it.
Happily I was given oral anti coagulants to go home with, no way could I poke myself !
Good to hear Alice may be going home .. prayers remain ..
HAPPY BDAY to Kim :-)
WELL!! A bit ticked with the fracture clinic. Lorna and I were there at 10am for a 1030 apt, got called in at 2pm !!!
People were getting right nasty with the staff ..we just remained cool and did crosswords, Lorna always has those books with her to putz with if she's waiting ..
Karen, have you gotten a lot of snow in your area?
Betty, you had best wait to return your Mom's coat to Buffalo ... UNREAL!!!
Best get supper on the go ..
~M~
Susan, glad to hear your Sister is going home!
Betty, I love all that you are getting done! So how many quits and no sews have you done?
"M", why are you at the fracture clinic? Did I miss something?
Well, Todd and I decided to get up yesterday and go for a drive to Big Bend national park. It is about 5 hours from us, and it was such a great drive. We spent the night in a motel when we got there, and drove back today!
If you have never been to big bend, you should try to go some time. I have been in Texas since 86, and have never been there, it is so pretty!
Oh LindaKay how wonderful you got away, long enough drive though so an overnight would be a must.
As for the no sew blankets, did 12 as Xmas gifts for friends
Just talked to Greg, there is a new pump called 'sump buddy' works on municipal water line pressure, he will call a plumber he kows to see if he can instal it..doesn't run on electricity nor battery so surely that would work out for me. Bought an alarm today, minute water touches it it goes off like a fire alarm..don't know what else I can do re flooding
Susan, great news about Alice, let's hooe she does rest
Barb, no I did not quilt the snowman as yet..did think I'd get to it today but ot..did finish binding the large quilt though
Snowing again
LindaK .. the fracture clinic here in TBAy is where you go to see your orthopedic surgeon instead of their office .. they see their post op hips and knees, remove sutures and gice cortisone injections, which is what Lorna had .. she's saying it hasn't worked yet, fingers crossed it improves ..
Light snow here, but, the wind has picked up :-(
Going to be a cold night
Hospice tomorrow, just waiting to run the dishwasher .. not 7pm yet !
Take care everyone
~M~
Thanks for explaining that "M".
We have about 8 inches of snow so far and the lake is frozen for about 10 feet from shore. Very early for that, often no ice until late January. I'll not complain though after seeing the videos of Buffalo. Amelia is complaining daily about wanting to go out and play but it's bitter cold. She just doesn't understand. Hubby rigged up lights so the rabbits water doesn't freeze, so far it's working well. Tenants will look in on them when we go down state for Thanksgiving, but it looks like they will be just fine.
We will head down on Fri. but DGS & Wife won't leave til Sat. morning and then we will be back on Sun. evening.
its very cold here brrrr. pooping popsicles.
kids had another 2 hr delay , kinda messed up my scheduale today.
my back is having fits again.
fence guy comes tomorrow to give me a quote on a fence. lets hope i can afford it. I have a gofundme.com account.... i just thought i would give it a try. see if i can raise some money for the new fence. i guess its tacky ? but i m a desperate woman !
happy Happy dance Alice will be coming home. Joy joy . sending hugs
morning :-)
A cold blustery morning .. a balmy 3F with a wind driving that number down into the MINUS 5F bracket ..
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ..
Have never heard of a gofundme acct., I have, however, had to come up with the cashola for fencing in an area for the dogs .. best of luck Sue.
Karen, 8" is lotsa snow for November, same with the ice ..
Betty, you're going to have to start decorating the pumps LoL hope the one Geg got you works .. the deal with the one that alarms is, you have to be home ..
Coffee time, then off to Hospice ..
TOODLES
~M~
Morning, blustery day
Talk about stormy, now they say we'll have rising temps on the weekend, lots of flooding in the region for sure.
Still watching news on Buffalo, omg beyond being a disaster
Wish Debbie would post to let us know she is ok..she is not right in Buffalo area that is being hit so here is hoping it missed her
Katie, how did your day go yesterday?
Marion, heard about the killing in library in Tallahassee, shaking my head, kids/teachers aren't safe anywhere are they
Dianne, how are you making out? Did you get good news re Diesel?
Yes "M" but at least when I'm home I wouldn't be up during the night checking, I'd hear the alarm if something went amiss
Never heard of either of those organizations, interesting
Need groceries, think i will go now before everyone are on the road going to work
Need bric brac for the girls project tonight, hmmm what to do what to do
Betty, sadly you are right. I am trying to keep up with what is going on at FSU currently but there still isn't much information coming out....to be expected I guess.
Thanks everyone who sent birthday greeting to Kim. It was, indeed, a wonderful day! I have missed so many birthday over the past years while mom was sick that I volunteer to take lunch to school yesterday. I prepared a *huge* salad luncheon for her and the group on her floor. What fun!!! I now have 1 new son, and 6 new daughters.....fine by me. I did bake her favorite cake (I hate the recipe but it was what she wanted) and was a little concerned on how to decorate a cake for someone who does this as a hobby...does a great job too. So being the mom I am and knowing her love of Diana Gabaldon's books..what else but a cut out of Jamie Fraser. Well for those that don't know...he is rather cool (read HOT! as played by the actor in the Starz Outlander series and yes, wears a kilt) I only wish I had had my camera ready when she saw it....picture laughing until tear were rolling down her cheeks!!! Ah made me feel good.
Today I will start cleaning up the mess as I was so tired when I finally got home, I just collapsed with a cup of hot tea and early bedtime!!!
Sending hugs to all and hoping and praying for everyone and what they are facing at this time.
Marion,is a must you take photo's, we would have loved tree photo of the ake..bet it was creative
I do have pictures...just need to figure out how to send from my iPad. It haven't had it very long and still learning how it works. They will come!!! Plus I will even bore you with pictures of my Gds....can you say proud grandmother....yeap, none of those here, right? LOL
Not so sure you can post photos to dg by iPad, think its a downfall
Betty is right, Ipad is an apple product, and it won't let you post to DG.
They can be sent to my email address and then resent from there.....just not sure how to go through all the processes. Kim said she would try to help me tonight.
When I have photo's on iPad I email to laptop then post
I seem to remember mention of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Today I saw a promo for them. The Hallmark channel is showing Ghosts of Christmas Past on their Movies&Mysteries Channel.
Next week in the afternoon.
http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/christmas
I so wish jean I could get the hallmark channel
When we travel to Buffalo best Parton the trip is hallmark channel at the hotel
My provider does not have it to purchase even as an add on
Went to town, still snowing and blowing but got the bric brac, fabric glue and wonder. Der for the girls..now watch them not come tonight

Trans-Siberian Railroad is another fav. of mine. Sadly all my music is packed in storage. Just never thought it would be there for over 3 years.
Karen, you can listen to them on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sqxc7CwzyM
Just search you tube for trans Siberian orchestra.
Thanks Linda, I do listen to some on there, just preferred setting up my own play list and having it go all day. Spoiled that way. LOL
Perfect weather here in the San Diego arrea.
I'll see the radiologist tomorrow and get mapped. I don't think treatment will startuntil after next week as it will be Thanksgiving here and a short work will. I will let you know as soon as I know anything.
My niece in Portland, OR has also written offering any support that I might need so I'm feeling well cared for and very blessed. I alsways think I should get some crafts or such done while I'm on these journies but I seem to do best if I settle into a semi-trance and read books and go to movies and not much else. Last trip I made a solar-lighted monster from a deterggent bottle for a woman who works at Goodwill and has three children. She told me they loved it. Nothing cheers me up like making kids happpy.
I saw the movie "john Wicks" and spent most of it wondering how Keanue Reeves manages to have such smooth, bagless skin under his eyes. I wonder if he's tell me if I asked. I suspect I couldn't afford whatever he does but it's impressive.
Thinking of all of you and hoping that you are doing well, enjoying whatever has been put in your life for the day.
hugs, katie

This is a cute tutorial
Betty, I am fine. Catching up on long over do reading here.
We have hardly any snow....maybe 2 inches. BUT 15 miles south of here, is horrific,
and closer you get to Buffalo is worse. There is no way to even go that way.
A man who was plowing, called into local radio station....they can't find gas!!! The stations
are out of gas, tankers can't get in to fill them.....and private owners can't help plow people
out....or even get gas for snowblowers.
Food on shelves is very low up in those areas also. It seems this snow band is "stuck" and
just dumping inch after inch....sometimes 3 to 4 inches an hour!!! Some areas are over six foot deep now.
Battling wicked headache for two days now but other than that, I am still swimming.
Debbie......sending hugs to Katie...and Dianne...and everyone!!!
Debbie, so glad to hear you are ok
been watching and watching..we've had a lot of snow but NOTHING in comparison
mind boggling it is
never entered my mind about the gas situation
Katie, thank goodness for your love of reading, keeping you busy. Glad your niece is offering to be by your side.
Thanks for the link Karen
Sue, was the fencing cheap enough that you will have it done?
Rita just left, Janice didn't come, she was in the states for 5 days, was going to Pennsylvania Christmas shopping, I was telling her why not shop in Buffalo, sure hope she didn't listen to me and that's why she was not here tonight
Rita got 2 runner tops done, next week she will quilt
when she left she asked if we might be able to do my Mrs. Snowman
Hi y'all!
I'm sorry to be MIA for so long. I've been sick and just haven't felt like being on the computer. I'm all better now, so I'll try to do better. Moses is a happy puppy now. He finally got to go for a walk today. It's been cold here the past couple of days. We broke records at 22 with the hi's not making it out of the 30's 1 day. Now you *know* I couldn't even go out in weather like that. After all, I'm a southern gal!
I did read and try to catch up and am sending prayers to all in need.
I have managed to get almost all my goodies together for my box so will have it out in time ... so no worries there.
Okay, it's almost time for the news. I need to go here about the shooting at the college in FL. What's this world coming to when our kids are no longer safe at college?
Y'all have a blessed night!
Nothing worse than a sore back Sue, hope it feels better sooner as opposed to later ..
Debbie .. you're fortunate not to have been dumped on that's for sure .. my bud in Olean is in the same boat, snow all around her, but she got very little .. She's off to NY city for Thnksgvng .. supposed to fly out of Buffalo on Saturday .. her sister lives in downtown NY and is saying they have lots of snow ..
Headaches are NO fun, Speedy recovery from the one you have ..
101 .. put a MINUS sign in front of that 22 and that's us, but, supposedly the LAST day for a few .. we be warming up on the weekend .. thinkin we might light up the big firepit ..
Off for coffee with friends this morning ..
Best get a bustle on
TGIF and TOODLES
~M~
Morning everyone.
Susan, sorry to hear you were sick, seems like a lot of people have had the crud already! Glad you are feeling better.
"M", be careful going out in that cold weather.
Betty, those table runners are cute, and I love your Mrs. Snowman!
