Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Moved us from here

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1380232/

Woke with Katie on my mind..Katie, know we are sending prayers and are there with you in spirit.

Didn't snow last night so that is a bonus

Went to turn on the family room fireplace, no go..brought in a new extension cord a d voila, flames/heat

Must throw out any extension that was in use..will the final chapter of this flood ever end

Are you all busy this week with Thansgiving plans?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thinking of Katie as well ...

Snowed here, I can either shovel it, or sweep it ... or .. leave it .. would leave it, but then Lorna has to walk through it ..
Only 7F out there, so since I don't think we're headed anywhere right away, I'll pull my 'procrastination trick' and leave it til I finish a cuppa.
Woodstove heat feels way too nice ..

Sue, hope that school is a GO!!

Take care all

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Brrr at the 7 degree's. It is 35 in Texas this morning.

Katie we are all with you in spirit today! Thinking sending prayers!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Tornado watch just above us until 2 pm; looks like the weather is moving this way; raining but is to get harder; high today 70; high for Tuesday 48!!! Everyone in Florida will be sick on Wednesday.

Busy day today...going to see Mannheim Steamroller concert tonight.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oooooh Marion, I'm sooo very jealous. I love love love Mannheim Steamroller. I've never seen them live but have several CDs.

Victoria Harbour, ON

-2 here this morning brrrrrr
went and put a new cord on the basement fireplace, oh happy days, it's working
note to self, need about 5 more good heavy duty extension cords, took outside cords and brought them in to use inside

think I'll do some no sew blankets just so I can sit and tie them and get warm, love fleece to cuddle in

Snowing lightly right now, calling for winds of 50-70 later today..hope snow stop as it will be white out time.

Marion, do enjoy the concert tonight..

radio was saying to keep out of drafts and have dry feet to avoid colds

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I wonder if all your dryer needed was a new cord?

Victoria Harbour, ON

No, they checked that

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I caved and went out and shovelled.
Have a dang big woodpecker trying to steal the chick a dees and nuthatch seeds, grrrr ...
Gord filled the peanut butter feeders to see if that'd keep them away, so far NOPE!
Also, Zoey (our re homed Westie) chases shovels !! Kinda cute, but, I have to really watch her ..

The deer are causing a kafuffle with the dogs too .. the garden almost borders their compound, separated by a wall of chopped wood .. the dogs can hear and smell them, and are at the ready to catch one, LoL, IF they could get out I would imagine there'd be a grand chase on ..

Betty, not sure why you have to stay out of drafts and have dry feet ? I musta missed something ..

Wind is up here, so, it's colder, think I'll make some apple sauce .. have some apples to use up ..
Kinda thinking as well, that, if we stay home, we might have a card game or 3 :-)

Best get my apple peeler out ..

Toodles

~M~

Hi Debbie and Dianne and Mary etc ... just in case you're lurking and can't post ..

Glenview, IL

Good Morning,

I am up and at it!!
Awoke thinking about Katie. Sending prayers and love.

Well, I have been a very busy bee...humming around while things are finally looking
Organized!! Woohoo, I am starting to feel uncluttered, lol at least on the main level here.
Lots of activity going on, rooms getting cleared and re-organized....My concentration is getting rid of old paper. What the heck found stuff from 1998!! Nice to know we only have to keep stuff from the last 7 years, makes toss out much easier! I have shopping bags to take to the shredder, and still not done.
Need to go through some old files from one more room...
Kind of cool, Found some neat items, and making a collection of all paper: The good, the bad and the ugly regarding this house, Why? because, God Willing we will have one heck of a bonfire when this house is paid off!! 5 years to go...Ok, yes, I got all sentimental at the the thought. Also found, My entire work history and resumes, decided to keep those and add the latest copies, kind of neat to look back in time.
and yep shed a few tears again, a long road, lol.

Oh goodness, Not real sure, but I think I forgot to say
M, I was so very happy that Gords medical out come has a better outlook for you all.
Sure does put a scare in your hearts.

Susan so sorry to hear about your sister Alice, sending up prayers for you all.

Barbara, oh sure hope that cast come off soon and Norms thumb has healed!!

Well, we also got some bad news too...Our very good friends Pam and Joe have both been diagnosed with a form of Cancer. Joe had a section of Lung removed, thankfully they feel they got it all, very early.
He was lucky, he went to the Doc for a pain he was having and it turned out to be cancer on his lung.
He seems to be good and returning to work, However, our hearts were very saddened to find That Pamm
has Hotches? cancer. She has been trying to find out what was wrong with her since latter part of April.
She has been loosing a ton of weight, test for all kinds of things. Finally did a biopsy on lymph nodes, and discovered this. Not sure when she will have surgery, but please keep her in your prayers. We would appreciate your prayers very much.

ok, well I've got to play with Birdies before I start.

Oh yes, also adding Deisel to my morning prayers, hope he get an early appointment, poor baby.

good morning
Judy so sorry to hear of your friends diagnosis. sending lots of prayers and healing thoughts
Susan sending healing thoughts to Alice.
wow on the weather brrrrr for you all in Canada.
we have snow. several inches around 20 degree's out.
Savannah is already out playing in it.
Tom and i are planted on the couch. so are the dogs.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, looks as though you are at the end of your cleaning mission and can now enjoy, so go put your feet up and enjoy

sending prayers for your friends, that is not good news, always harder to hear at this time of year

Judy, sounds as though Pam may have 'Hodgkins Lymphoma'.
Distressing news for you.

DH is a 'hoarder of paper' makes me nuts, he thinks of it all as treasures!

Applesauce is rendering down, house apparently smells nice, one of the times I miss my smeller.

Good luck with that snow Betty, we have it here right now, but not too bad.

Off to stir

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Prayers for Joe & Pam, Judy....... how doubly awful to both be diagnosed.......

I called the hospital this morning to see how Alice is doing - physio team is going through the ward, doing their rounds and afterwards will discuss findings. I'm to phone in 2 1/2 hours to see what they say.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let's hope it's good news Susan

Greg called, Melanie's grandmother died, they were enroute to Meaford..they had spent of/on last 4 days or so in Meaford, came home for clothes and got the call

Snowing heavily

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sending good thoughts and positive energy to each of you...Katie deep breaths...you are not alone and Susan...good thoughts to Alice. I hope Norm, Gord and Lorna are improving. More thoughts and prayers for your friends Judy.

Have had allergy/sinus yuk for days. For a few, I sounded like one of the geese....now, I just whisper...but it is getting better.

Marion, we were under tornado watches and warnings for most of the late afternoon/evening until about 10pm...then it was just severe storm watches with thunder and lightning...and a 30+ degree temperature drop this morning.....

Good job Judy....you must be thrilled to see so many tasks behind you. I know you are so stoked for Julia and David.

Dianne, hope Diesel is doing better. I have been indulging myself with a little Paul Rodgers. Saw him on Front and Center/PBS ....Memphis rocking soul/blues...yummy

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

sorry to hear about Mel's grandmother - thoughts and prayers for the family

Called the hospital about Alice - she'd been complaining about tiredness in her chest, so they're going to do a chest x-ray. I spoke to her nurse, and he said to call back in a couple of hours and they should have the results by then. He said to ask for him, Leo.

mulege, Mexico

Hi Everyone, I'm so glad to have your company as I go through this. Met with the radiation people this morning and have good news except it means I won't be able to go to San Ramon to see Amma. However, I will be able to be home for Christmas. I explain about my Santa role and why it means so much to mea. She checked out possibilities and worked out that I can get mapped this Friday (hence no trip to San Ramon) and the will probably start radiation after Thanksgiving and finish on Dec21!!!! I just loved her. I said I would miss Christmas in Mexico if I had to but she really got what it means to me and was able to work things out. Could it be all the prayers coming my way are working miracles for me??

Meanwhile, I have lots of books, there are lots of new movies out, the weather is fine and I have enough money for an occational motel.

I also have a touch of stomach flu so I'm going to go lie down.

big hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Know you are disappointed about San Ramon but would have been so much more so had you ot been home for Christmas..sounds as though she is a sweetie and will keep thinks organized s best she can to make sure you are..bet she could feel all of our presence thus knew she'd best cooperate.

Greg just dropped in, Lordy he looks defeated..trouble with Naoh again
Been going on for a bit, more they do for him the more he treats them all badly

Kyle says he is leaving tonight, for where I have no idea
Greg is at that point as well, says its ruined their family..volatile at best some times

Melanie worries about Noah o the point that nothing else matters, says she can't turn her back on him and he plays on that, says he will do himself in..shaking my head

What to heck do you do??

What I didn't tell you all was about 2am a week ago Friday I got a call from Mel asking if Noah could come sleep here, said someone would drop him off so up I got

About 3:30 the police came, the officer stood outside for good half hour talking to him..he was listening or at least seemed to be

When Noah came in he was soaking wet, mud from one end to he other..of course I stayed up, didn't ask questions, washed all his clothing, he was sleeping when i left for USA..thought he s going to spend the weekend but didn't..

Told Greg to come here for a few days, I'm tired, in bed but left door open just incase he or Kyle would like a place to spend the night...does it ever end?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

So sad that just one child can disrupt so many lives. My sister that is bi-polar always did that. Ruined every holiday. Gave up both her kids for others to raise until they were adult now she's best mommy ever. I guess she is better about her meds now and acts OK but you know what? She wore me out years ago. Never even attempted to apologize for all she did and said. Most she ever said to me was I made her so angry. Guess that made it all my fault.

So Sorry Betty didn't mean to make it about me, it's not of course. I'm so sorry you are going through this heart ache.

Susan, I hope you get good news for our sister.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Hugs all around ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Betty i sure now what they are going through . I remember those days with Jessica. No matter what i did , no matter what i did for her, no matter how i helped her. I was the enemy :( there was no neutral , no win win, no rational thinking. I m so sorry about Noah. I do hope they can get him in treatment and he accepts his part in it. sending prayers to you and family.
Katie good news . sorry about the trip to San Romon , but glad you'll be home for christmas.
MMMM apple sauce ! i bet your house smells wonderful.
Judy sending hugs to Pam and joe. healing thoughts to them

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I shall not complain at all about my family. It seems I let myself get hurt over small slights and then when I come here and read all that some of you are going through or have been through, I realize how lucky I am and have been all along. I am so sorry Betty. I so wish I could make it all just go away and I'm at a loss as how to help. I can listen though dear friend any time you need to just talk.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you, believe they keep a lot to themselves but they are going through hell..perhaps it's best I not sk how things are going and bury my head in the sand.

Barb, wasn't that long ago I could say the same, with the grace of God may it stay the same for you!

All buses are cancelled for 75 miles around me, great day to snuggle in.

Not sure if the ladies will come today , they were going to do a floormat

In the meantime I have a no sew blanket on my lap working on it..said if I did one a day by weeks end I'd have them all done, keeping to my schedule

Looked at weather forecast, a lot of you are getting some not so nice weather

Stay in, be safe

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sending hugs to all and praying for good results Susan and Katie.

Betty. condolences on the death of Melanie's grandmother.

Florida is seeing much cooler weather and I am loving it. Got my sweats on, cozy and happy as a clam today. Baking Kim's birthday cake for tomorrow then off to see my oldest GD with the cheerleading squad.

Stay warm all and hugs.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

You know? All in all I'm pretty darned lucky, except for living up here and missing them all. I need to just quit picking at old wounds, not going to change them for sure. I very much love my children, grands & greats and know they love me. The rest are just an Oh Well. Rejoice in what I have.

Victoria Harbour, ON

girls are here working away..weather just doesn't stop them

Glenview, IL

Hi everyone...
lol We are in freeze mode here too!! Welcome winter? yikes.

Betty, Please give my condolences to Melanie along with an Armwrap.
Also will Keep Greg and Melenie in my prayers to get through this.
...Sure is tough to know what and when to do/say things. And yes i TOO, will be here for you.

Thank you all for Prayers for Pam and Joe..

Moonbeam, so bummed you are still suffering from the sinus ickies. I sure hope you get to feeling better very soon, like today, lol...
Oh yessiree, i love that things are finally getting done and looking good. Inside and out...ROFLOL, of course at the moment one would never know it at the site of the inside again!! Sunroom got the clean sweep action going on, lol sigh, it's all in the great room at the moment.

I have to giggle and happily smile as I listen to all the music going on!! Like Marion, i've just recently started to listen and jamb. One thing we finally are getting done, DH has installed a wooden floor in the Sunroom!! Last night, I was sweeping the floor and just started dancing to the music. lol I forget how some songs i can just relate to...All I kept thinking is wow, what a great dance floor, can you imagine what fun I was having sliding across the room.

Marion, awe how cool your GD is now a cheerleader, so smiling you will be there just to watch her!!
Excited to see pictures.
Happy Birthday to Kim! I hope the day is special.

Katie, How wonderful the scheduler was able to get you set up so you can be home for Christmas.
bummer you won't be able to see Amma this time around. I am sure she will be in your Spirit as you are in hers.

Guess who popped in my head last night? BEV...Waiving hello and I sure hope you are doing well.
Also Debbie, You doing OK? Are you healing from the rash?

Sue, Well hands on the hips, no wonder you didn't reply...lol, you sons name is not Justin, but Austin...lol so sorry, got all kinds of names rolling around my brain...Anyways, how is liking Basketball? is the team doing good? Do they have another snow day? And what of the pups, it the first snow they are experiencing? LOL must be fun to watch.

Susan, Gentle armwraps for Alice and continued prayers.

Linda kay, so glad we chatted, thanks for listening to my gripe! What are you working on?

Barbara, how are you coming along with your knitting? Are you almost done with the sweaters?
When my brother was here, I showed him the Wooden scissors I made you...He was impressed they even open and close...

I also showed him all the birdhouses I made, I love to show my brothers the things I have made.

Karen, just want to say, how beautiful your dresdon plates are! I love the outlook of the gathered pieces.
Also, love the stories and pics of your little GD, she is adorable.

Thunder, You sweetheart, ((((((((((((((big Armwraps)))))))))))))) to you too! How are you doing? They have you on crazy schedule?? LOL, I sure don't miss that. Well, I have been asked to come and re-apply at the crazy store! I hear things are a little better. I just don't know if i can handle people out and out rudeness...They had a brand new hire ring me up. I asked if he was new, he said yes just. Told him he was doing fine, I completely understand.

Ohh, got to run, be back later!
Enjoy the day everyone.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sometimes all you can do is take a deep breath and remain neutral.....listen, love and keep your own counsel, especially when you are in the middle.

But, when it comes to a one on one, You have to be honest and require honesty from each one.

"People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built." Eleanor Roosevelt

LOL no worries Judy. I call him the wrong name a lot too LOL .
Betty yes i m sure there are things you don't need to know. I didn't tell my parents everything that went on with Jessica. No need of it.
not much going on here
so cold you can poop popsicles ! 9 degrees and not including windchill of 35 mph
to cold for anything outside.

mulege, Mexico

I'm settling for a month of camping/books/movies and radiation.

Betty and others - when my younger sister finally successfully committed suicide I heaved a sign of relief and said "It's about time." Sounds awful doesn't it? Unless you have been through it taken all the crap and never gotten anything but more crap - plus getting to hear all the funny family stories about how badly I treated her. I finally tod her "never again." She still comes around psychically now and then to see if she can guilt trip me. Maybe a little, I say, but you're still dead and I'm still glad I will never have to deal with you or your dramatic stories again.

Don't know if I have said this here but a year or so ago I had a revelation. I thought about the number of people I've known that have never acknowledged a mistake. I never wanted them to grovel just to admit to a lack of perfection. One reason Tony and I get along so well is that when something is not done right we both immediately say "It was my fault" and them we go about fixing the problem. People who never admit mistakes never change - it's as simple as that. With that I ended (at least for a while) one long term relationship and transformed another.

That's my rant for the day.

Thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. You have mine as well.

hugs, katie

while I explained the steps to the floorcloth I sat from time to time at the quilt

likely about another hour and it could come off the frame

now had I not taken time to make homemade soup for lunch I just might be finished

might find the energy a little later to finish then take off the frame or might just wait until tomorrow
