Rm 298 "Sweet Interruptions" Hotel

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good morning everyone. I am staying home today!!!! Well, I plan to stay home but who knows what will actually happen.

Pegi, I was really touched by the prayer...thanks for posting it.

Nice pictures LK and so glad you and Todd had a good time. I miss those doing things like that now. Life does go on.............

Jaye, Jaye, Jaye!!! What ever makes you think I should get a stripper for Kim's birthday next year? Why not mine? ;-) I maybe old but I certainly ain't dead!!! Just keep repeating that to yourself. Besides, a very good friend of hers in college was friends with one of the Chippendale Strippers. So guess what she arranged for Kim's 21st birthday.....yeap, her very own Chippendale showed up at the house with birthday greetings. My mom happened to call just about that time to wish her a happy birthday and let's just say....Kim understands very well the attitude of the women in our family. :-0

Hoping everyone has a great day. Off to clean up the mess in the kitchen. I prepared lunch and took to school yesterday for Kim and her teacher buddies. What fun but oh what I left undone from being tired when I got home. Yuck!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Liz, I am not seeing a face in the picture, but I could probably find one if I looked hard enough.

Marion, i wish we could all afford a maid to clean up all those kitchen messes.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone.

Marion, oh you're such a wench!!! Lololol!! If I have the means, you'd get your own Chippendale for sure.. err... the furniture kind!!

Liz, the pastor didn't continue with Philippians yesterday, as he was led by God to go to Daniels, then Acts then straight into extended prayers.
He's branding the words, "Lord is always with us, no matter the circumstances" in our conscious minds. You can say, many were taken aback by his change of lesson.
Guess God's using him to reassure the doubters.

The pastor also suggested that instead of 7,30, classes start at 7. I wish it will be earlier than that. But then, he had to think of the working folks. I hate driving at night as the cataract in my right eye won't co operate.
I live in a border town.. just across from Loris, SC.

Had to look into the second pic, LK. Didn't see a face but I'm sure after I've finished my coffee, my eyes will be able to focus.
Did you do any gift shopping there?

Does anyone here paint on fabric?
Got this 'promised' project which is overdue, and I want to paint a tree trunk on cotton then add appliqued leaves..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not much other than souvenir shops Jaye. I did pull over on the side of the road, and picked up some rocks from the huge falling rocks from the cliffs. We plan on going back next summer with all the kids and Grandkids.

I have never painted on fabric, but have watched several you tube video's on the process. There are several types of fabrics paint, the most popular seems to be the paint sticks.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I had too go back to LK's pictures and after studying the 2nd one for a bit I did find the face. Pretty cool.

Suppose to only get to 69 today, but sun is out, no wind and I bet it goes higher. No way am I going to turn the heater on yet.

Tim still working on the Ford Ranger, he found an air leak in one of the lines so off to the parts store again. Funny that when something goes wrong he has to come in and show me, just like his dad. Well, after all these years I guess I should recognize some car parts. Hope this helps with the gas mileage.

Can I pass on the month of December?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks for the offer Jaye but I will pass....................to much furniture in the house already. LOL

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hubby does that too Pegi, I guess it's a guy thing. Like I even know let alone care what part he needs. Just go get it already.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh well Marion, never say that I don't think of you :P

My ex was always explaining and pointing out car parts.. what need to be done.. and sometimes I'd be his grease monkey helper.
Never thought it will come in handy for Kelvin don't know doodley squat about cars and even maintenance, except to gas up the truck!!
I can identify what those strange noises from the truck could be.. even predicted recently, which brakes needed replacing!!
But what good does it do, when this man can't fix autos without paying..

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Thanks Pegi, I thought I was dreaming. LOL

hey folks
not much going on here.
talked to Medicaid , got some answers finally !
have to get my money back on doggie school. Austins basketball games are all on saturday and sundays around the same time . We also have to travel with this league. uhg.
Bella took me for another fall today :( Lucy runs and she wants to run too. Lucy is in big trouble , she is not allowed out with Bella. She ran past me like a brat and Bella wanted to run with her. Can't blame Bella .
got the estimate for the fence. not as bad as i thought.
went to gym today, good workout.
not much else

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning.
A confusing week, weather wise, but at least I can praise God that we won't see snow.. yet!!

Sue, you don't need a workout at the gym when you have those two pups! They'd fortify your body muscles!! Lolol!!

Soup pots have been busy. One day, it was bean soup, another, chicken gumbo... then another good old fashioned vege soup.
Got some ham.. think I'll do a rice soup today.
Nothing like something that sticks to the bones and warm them too!!

HAVE a blessed Friday everyone, and sisters facing that white stuff.. stay warm please.
Brother Ernie, is it snowing there?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Sue, I hope the medicaid news is good news!

Jaye, homemade soup sounds good!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Are you still enjoying some warmth, LK?
Supposed to drop to the low 20s here.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

What we woke up to , frozen already.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is nice here. 62 right now, but on the chilly side, as it is really foggy and damp!

That snow is pretty, but you can keep it!

I feel sorry for New York, that got 7 foot of snow, and it is still coming down!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - you have car repair skills lol

my sister Alice's birthday tomorrow - so glad she's going to be home for it! She's going to have family come to see her - she'll be 73
I just spoke to her for 5 min. Didn't want to tire her out. She has some sort of throat infection and the doctor took a swab to see if it's strep throat. He didn't give her any meds for it, but will let her know if it is strep.
AND she has (in her words) some "hellishly expensive meds" to take for the blood clots etc - that she injects through her stomach - $3k / month..... in April the cost will be waived by Cdn medicare. In the meantime, what she had coverage for has been eaten up by other meds, so she has no more med coverage until April and has to foot the bill for everything now. I guess the medicare has its fiscal year start in April so that's why it will take care of it all then. Hopefully she gets it from now on, for free - I think that's what she said.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

So postcard pretty, Karen. I say the same too.. keep it there!

I hope the shelters will have room for the overflow expected, LK. No one wants to be in NY around this time.. yet, Zi's niece and nephew are coming down to NY for Thanksgiving.

Gosh.. food.. meds.. food.. meds.. meds. April is a long way, Susan. Hope she'd find some financial relief.

good lord 7' of snow. ! just ain't right.
Save calories with this tasty drink. Unsweetened vanilla almond milk and Baileys Irish Cream yummy . almond milk has 30 calories and low sugar .
Hooray for your sis Susan.
LK i may come live with you durning the winter ! its 26 today.
got my toes done today.
Im very excited about my trip.
going to be busy the next few days
hair apt tomorrow. bye bye grey hair

good morning.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I'll show you my toes if you show yours Sue. Oh wait, that isn't the way to start a post.

Good morning everyone. Okay back to the important stuff...what color Sue?
BTW, I have room if you need to come further south to stay warm!!

Been busy the past couple of days. Kim starts her Thanksgiving break today so we are going to cook some thing ahead of time...ie: cook down our pumpkin for pies; make some soup (thanks Jaye for reminding me) and mostly bake some banana bread to use up the banana that have started taking on another life. ;-)

Need to wake up sleepy head as I want to go to Costco and get things we need before it gets really crowded. Then there is that thing called a football game that is calling my name today.

Stay warm everyone, be safe and keeping each and everyone in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Luvs U Miz Jaye!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Does anyone here use symbalta? My arthritis Dr put me on it about a week ago, and boy does it mess with my tummy and balance. He said I need to take it a few weeks to get used to it. I don't know if I can handle it too much longer. So far it is doing nothing for the pain.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, I can tell you that's how Marion introduced herself at BJ's. TOES first.. and they're painted SCARLET RED~~ Lolol..

Ahhh.. Thanksgiving activity in all my sisters and brother's homes. I can smell the aroma of cooked turkey and pies baking. Wish I'm closer to one of you!

Can't help you there LK. I think you should stop immediately. Your discomfort isn't worth the wait.

Cold and colder tonight, not much going on here except to go into town, get some much needed sundry and hopefully watch football later or visit Carolyn,.
Hate to see my young team get trounced week after week.. oh well.

Have a great weekend my lovely family. Luvzz you all very much!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Good morning Jaye and the crew. Wow that snow in Buffalo is something else. No snow here but it is raining.

Oh my do you really think I will get in on this and show you mine? lol.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Today is BJ's Birthday.
I see the Dr. tomorrow, so I will ask him whats going on!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Ernie!
Are you have family over for Thanksgiving?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LK, be very careful of Cymbalta!!!! Doctor put my mom on it for pain in her stomach and she suffered 9 side affects, dang near went into a deep depression Thank God I was with her at the time and told her to quit taking that crap!!! She would get up in the mornings and her head felt full of pressure, plus it upset her stomach more. I don't know why these doctors use anti-depressants for pain, when there are pain meds for arthritis. I was put on it once for depression because my doctor told me I had a lump on my breast. It did crazy stuff to me and I told her to take me off of it!!! It's NASTY stuff..........and all these doctors do is write more scrips to make more money!!! They don't care about your health at all!! I have arthritis REAL bad through my whole body, and all I take is Aleve and eat 7 dried cherries a day, you will be surprised at how well it works.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the info Cindy! I will have to give that a try.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Good morning, well afternoon in some places. I started drinking charmomile tea and sleep really good. Better keep it up. But st 2:45 this morning I woke up out of a sound sleep to the screeching of the security alarm. Don't know how I got out of bed so fast. Everything seemed to be ok. Of course, waiting for the call from security to see if everything was all right. Have no idea why it said the garage door was open because it wasn't. This is the second time that has happened. Well, at least I know security is on top of things. Pretty safe neighborhood, maybe because I am close to a sheriff station no one bothers us.

It is in the 60's here with sunshine. I feel sorry for the New York people, and it isn't even the start of winter. I'm going to the Elk's lodge with brother & sister-in-law for Thanksgiving. She volunteered to help serve so she said she will be waiting on me, about time. HeeHee Vets meals are free and others pay $5. Now I think $5 is a good price for a turkey dinner. I'm not about to cook a turkey just for me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pegi, maybe someone is trying to get into your garage, and when they jiggle the door, it sets off the alarm? Glad to hear you have an alarm to alert you.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh God, good that you're living close to the sheriff, Pegi.

Thank you Cindy for sharing that info here. So, LK.. no lingering sufferings please.
I am drinking dried cherry stems, it's good for getting rid of excess fluids.

LK wow , don't know if that sounds so good. I have heard some bad things from people who have taken it. Please be careful and hopefully your Dr can give you something else ?

Jaye how are you ? hope things are doing better for you. Brrr cold is not what i want to hear for you in NC.
i ate to much. im waiting for Tom to get back from work. Sitting watching the boob tube , eating pie and other munchies. Uhg.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hey Sue. I am watcing as much as non brain stuffs as I can!!
It's not bad here, so hopefully you and Tom will have a pleasant trip and Thanksgiving.
Was at Sis Carolyn's house earlier, she packed some home made vege soup and I am glad I don't have to cook at all tonight!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We had to make a quick run down state. My aunt who is also my best friend called and her hubby Who has lived in a home for two years had come to his final hours. We have spent so much time together and even stood up for them at their wedding. We got here in time, he passed just after two this morning. There will be a memorial service for him after Thanksgiving.

Her children will be arriving later and we will head home this evening once I know she won't be alone.

They had a wonderful life together, were high school sweethearts. Life happened and they each married others. They came back together over 30 years later and have have 37 years.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about your loss Karen. Sending prayers for all the family.

Please drive carefully going back home!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

LK, have a remote control that opens and closes garage door, no handle on it. Funny, if someone was around Mandy would have set up a barking frenzy. She doesn't like anyone coming near the house. I may have to take the key fob for the security to bed with me in case this happens again. Not a good wake up call.

Karen glad you got to the nursing home in time. Sorry for your loss. Love those stories of people finding their high school sweethearts after many years apart.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sorry over your loss of a beloved family member, Karen. May he rest in peace. Your aunt is certainly one of the lucky ones to have been reunited with a great love for 37 years.

Pegi, you had mentioned chamomile tea, I forgot to tell you that is what I drink at night, right before evening prayers.
Helped calm my nerves too.

Had church this morning, and Holy Communion was performed. I didn't participate as there are still ungodly issues living in the house.
Just don't want to defile the holy body of Jesus. I know He loves and forgives, but my conscience this time says not yet..

I am trying very hard to regain that happy place within me. Thank you sisters and brother for putting up with me.

Evening service later, and the rains aren't letting up. My reliable brown raincoat with a flannel lining will do its service well since temps are in the 40s.

So brother Ernie.. show us your painted toes.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

;) yeah, Ernie!

Well, I am once again sitting at the Atrium hospital with Bill. He has had a hernia in his belly button for about two years. It has bothered him little in the past. However, yesterday it popped out and he couldn't get it back in. It was also very painful. He put off going to the ER cause he thought the pain would subside. It didn't. So we came to the ER at 10:00 last night. After blood work and a CT scan, they discovered that it was not life threatening and the surgeon said if he wanted to be admitted he would go ahead and repair it today. That was at 1:00 am today. Since the other option was to go to his office on Tuesday and be operated on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) we decided to go with today. So I went home shortly after 1:00 and left him in the ER since they said he'd be going to a room shortly. Well, he didn't get to a room until 4:00. Then his stupid IV alarm kept coming on. He got very little sleep. They took him to surgery at 2:00 this afternoon. It lasted about 40 minutes and everything went well. The only restriction he'll have is no heavy lifting for a month. The Doc said he could go home or not, so Bill opted to stay another night. He's in quite a bit of post op pain. He hasn't had anything to eat since 3:00 yesterday. I just ordered his dinner for him and he's asking for some coffee now.

So just wanted to update you.

Oh yes, sorry for your friends' loss. Glad they had happy years together.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh poor Bill. Speedy recovery! You can have lots of ice cream if nothing else seems appetizing. Ice cream melted in coffee is good too :D
And when you get home, obey doctor's and Cookie's orders!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you guys had to go through the long night of waiting in the ER. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

Jaye, that is what friends are for. To support those in need. Any idea when Kel is leaving?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers for a quick recovery for Bill. Glad they were able to take care of him before Thanksgiving and that he didn't need to wait around for four or five days.....Take care....
