(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you found us Karen. Enjoy your company!

Morning everyone!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Mornin' everyone. Looks like we are going to have some cool weather for the next few days and I am loving it!!!! Been trying to get my days and nights straighten out so maybe I will be in and out a little more. The 10th anniversary of Ross' death in September really threw my world for a loop...but, I am getting it back together slowly but surely. Having dental work during that time didn't help.

LK I am so glad you got to see your Dad and had a good trip. I smiled looking at the pictures.

Kathy!! Gal what ever in the world are you doing getting sick yet again? Oops, not good about the dog digging under the fence. Ditto what Jaye said about the summer. A friend of Kims had one and oh what a miserable mess it was during the hot months. Good luck.

Karen, how are you doing with this drug out 6 months wait for the return of Outlander? I think it is really cruel and human punishment. :-) Well, it does give me time to read more of the books. Stay warm and safe with the snow.

Hello Jaye!!!! Always on my mind and in my prayers....but I hope you know that.

Waving to all other....off to run some long put off errands again today. Getting so I hate to go into Tally to do things. Turning into a homebody even more than usual.

good morning
kids didn't have school, i took dogs to doggie park. its 21 outside not including windchill. not to windy out but a slight breeze.
did 1 quick lap lol then back to the car.
think i need a nap before i go to the gym at noon LOL

Our library has a book sale area, many of therm donated, hard and soft cover. 50 cents each or 3 for $1. I get three or 4 dollars worth and when finished I donate them back and get another bag full. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten home and discover I re-bought a book but oh well it's for a good cause. I especially look for fav. authors, always excited when I find one I haven't read yet.

When I first started on here, I picked up some fabric for Linda K at Joann's and sent it to her. In return she sent me some Disney princess fabric. Yards and yards of it. I'm now making it all into bedding for Sweet Caroline age 4. She so loves everything princess. In addition she and Noelle have until recently been raised together. Now Noelle who is an only has a new house and beautiful room and a closet full of princess dresses. Sweet Caroline is still at grandma's, sharing a room with her brother and has just one princess dress which I got her last year at a 75% off sale. She never complains though. If she can't have her own room, at least she can have her princess area. Made her and Noelle Princess Elsa dresses for Christmas too. They love to play dress up together. Will be giving her the princess bedding at Thanksgiving.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Make sure you post pictures of the bedding Karen!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I plan to Linda. Think her mom and I will make up her bed than call her to see.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

And I still have that elephant bag you made for me Chris! That was a bag swap years ago on the sewing thread. Wonder if Thunder still has hers.

Hello everyone.
Cold, and it is supposed to be in the 28s by tonight. Hope not.

Pegi, those antique tupperwares are desirable on eBay. They are much more sturdy than the current plastic containers. The colors are also distinctly Tupperware.

Aww Marion.. ((((HUGS)))) What a great love you both shared. Hopefuly one day I can brag of the same.
You are so blessed that your grandkids don't allow you to get depress 24/7.
We'll be homebodies together.. virtually!

Barb, did you get all your shopping done? Your previous years' shots of snow blanketed porches were pretty, but I sure don't want that here.

Sis Kathy, take care of your self please. Hot tea, no sodas, warm soups, REST.. can't stress that enough.

LK, have you started winterizing your garden? You're the last one in our group to take care of such things.
I haven't mulched anything but Kelvin did agree to bring in some huge rootbound pots to his shop.
WIll have to move the potted dls by myself before evening sets.

Hey Sue. tv or video game activities for the twins. Or you can start teaching Savannah how to cook! She'd be ready to move out when she's of age!! Lolol!

Sweet Caroline. what a sweetheart. Innocent kids that don't know they're lacking.
Karen, yes, please post pictures. You have certainly enriched your family's life with your very generous heart.

Think I better get the plants in now while there's sunlight!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

well, the dog chewed threw 2 chain link fences and killed a neighbors sheeps. needless to say, the dog went back

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The wisest thing you've done lately, Sis !!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Kathy - "chewed" through metal chain link fences? Strong teeth............
Is this the same one that got under the fence and killed the prize fighting rooster?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy that is not good. I had a Siberian husky, and he never dug or chewed fences.

Jaye, I wish I was closer to help you with your plants.

The only thing I had to bring in to protect were some brug cuttings. They are in the living room by the window in an old wagon for now. I have spread red mulch in the raised garden where I have the Mexican petunias, a few ginger plants and pride of Barbados. I have had the gingers for a few years now, I do hope they bloom next year.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Seems that she got rid of the devil dog, before he chews the house, Susan!!

Thanks LK. I got them all in, and they are staying indoors till next year!!
They'll bloom LK. have patience. If not, maybe you can add some bloom boosters.

I haven't cut down any brugs. Left the trees all alone.

i never did get my nap. :( kids woke me up and the dogs.
went into town, got halloween stuff 90% off !
did find some christmas light , a must have.
went to the gym. my body is soar .

Hmmmm might be something to try....

Bailey's Fudge. Mmmmm...

14 oz Condensed milk
1/3 lb butter
1 1/4 c icing sugar
1 1/4 c brown sugar
1 1/2 t vanilla
2 T Baileys

Grab the largest microwaveable bowl in the kitchen and add the condensed milk, butter and sugars. No need to mix just ensure that the container is LARGE because the contents are going to bubble up furiously and splattered fudge mix. For a 900W microwave, cook the mixture on full power for 9 min, removing the bowl for stirring every 3 min. If your microwave has a lower wattage you'll need to cook the mixture for longer. Add 1 min cooking time for every 50W less power. Once the cooking time has finished, add in the vanilla extract and Baileys and beat the mixture until it begins to look smooth and glossy. Transfer the fudge mix into a 9" greased square pan to cool. (You can also line the pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.) Once the mixture has cooled to room temperature, you can pop it in the fridge for a firmer set if required.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning or is it afternoon. Nights turned around yet again so I am just crawling out of my cozy covers and facing the world. Someone please pull the shade back down...I want to go back to sleep.

Geez, Thanks Karen I just gained 10 pounds reading that recipe. Enjoyed it though.

Jaye, as I age I do seem to enjoy being more selective in where and who I go do things with. It could also be from the traveling these past years with mom and my sister. Home is good! I am naming the dust bunnies, learning to like the shadow effects of cobwebs and getting good at finding a clean coffee cup.......oh don't I wish! Okay, enough of this nonsense.

Actually cleaned out mine and Kim's Christmas decorations and we have made a box to donate to someone who asked on Free Cycle. Gone through our closets and donated those to an orgainzation that helps battered woman so we have been getting things done.

Katy, not good about the dog. Glad to hear he has been returned as that could get to be expensive replacing and repairing things.

Just got a call Kim's car is ready to be picked...had it serviced..so I guess I will go put real clothes on and be out of here for a while.....................

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Afternoon everyone.

Thanks for the recipe Karen, I will have to give that one a try. It looks a lot easier that the one I have been making.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Putting that fudge recipe into an e-mail for my sister and see if she will try it. Most microwave ovens are 1000 W and higher today. She loves to try new recipes and I really think she should make a batch for me. BTW my sister's name is Karen too and she is one great sister.

Still enjoying the cool weather and hope it is here to stay.

I'll have to go on e-Bay and look at the Tupperware containers. Everything made "back in the day" is a lot better. Gave all my other containers to son's girlfriend. What she doesn't want she can get rid of.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

There was a microwave peanut butter fudge recipe on FB last week. I made it and at first we weren't impressed but the next day it was very good. Guess it needed overnight to mellow or the flavors to blend, might be the case with this one too. Haven't tried it yet.

I love my old Tupperware Pegi. I'm always checking yard sale for replacements or extras of my favorites. I have been using the same T-ware canisters since shortly after we married over 54 years ago.

I made two pumpkin pies. it was a bust :(
made a pumpkin struesel thingy, that was a bust ! :(
made some italian sugar cookies. a decent cookie , will be nice with tea or coffee.
Tom will be coming over tonight. i can't wait.
not much else going on here.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

use Phyllo dough for the crust - nice and flaky, Sue

Karen - I used to be a Tupperware dealer, and my sister Alice was my manager lol

Prayers please, for my sister Alice. My daughter Michelle called this morning and told me that Alice is in the hospital - has been, since Wednesday. They live in Winnipeg. Alice has been dealing with lung cancer for 14 years. Now she has blood clots in her lungs. They've got her on blood thinners so she's breathing better and able to talk. They won't let her go home just yet though, because she's very weak

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Susan, sorry to hear that, will send prayers for Alice!

Jaye still sending prayers for you too

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Jaye, your always in my thoughts and prayers. Has Kel left yet? Does his Mom know what's going on?

I'm having my DMIL over for chicken and noodles today. I invited my SIL and her DH as well, but don't know if they're coming or not. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow tonight. Drafts! I'm sure not ready for that!

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Prayers for your sister Alice, Sue. ((((Hugs)))) for Jaye. Send the peanut fudge to me, Karen, I so love peanut butter. I guess you could say that is comfort food for me.

I was reading my timeline on Facebook, I have a lot of recipes I want to try, and got tears in my eyes over some of the posts. Feels so good when so many can share their feelings with you.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, I need to do some serious inventory of what can be donated. I just can't seem to part with things.
Perhaps you could start an art fad with painting cobwebs!! Lolol!
.
Karen that poster is truly us!! Love it! We are definitely very supportive sisters, plus a missing brother!

Barb, I appreciate very much, yours and the rest, faithful prayers.

LK had made some fantastic Bailey's fudge. Will you be doing it again for Christmas, LK?

Sue, you need powerful muscles to handle big dogs!! Next excercise will be lifting weights.

Pegi, when I think I have it bad, someone else is going through harder times.
I must learn to be thankful that my crisis is not fatal :D

Sending prayers for Alice, Susan. When was the last time you've seen her?

Cookie, Kel hasn't moved out yet, giving excuses as to why not now. His mother still hasn't been told, but I am sure she has an inkling that he has another woman.. that same woman who gave her a pup, 2 kittens (both killed) and come often to visit Kel at the shop..
my life is in a limbo. One minute he's the old Kel the next, ruthless SOB.

Well, did go to church and enjoyed both services.
Everyone talking of Thanksgiving plans.
I am very fortunate that I won't spend it by myself. Sister Carolyn will be picking me up for the weekend, and I truly needed that as Kel has cruelly said he doesn't want to spend it with me.. and that night he'd be working.
I want so bad to kill him, but I don't look good in orange.

When you think things can't get any worse, one of my front teeth broke!!
Thank God, I already have a dentist appt. for a filling, hope he can reattach the tooth. As though I don't have enough monetary woes. Hey, I can still chew my food though!

I'm thankful that we're not getting any snow. Yesterday it was in the low 30s and I didn't turn on any heat. Has piled the bed with quilts and wore very warm clothings.
When Kel got home this morning, he blasted the heater. Told him, to experience what he'd be leaving me to.
Again.. I won't look good in orange!!

Have a good warm rest sisters and missing brother Ernie. LizH.. Lizrainey.. come on down!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

I am here I am having nothing but computer problems. First I bought a new one that never worked well at all so I took it back and got this one. It got stuck between two task and after two hours on the phone with hp I had to wipe it off clean and install a recovery disk that took four days to get.. Well it still is a bit wonkey if you ask me. The heros at HP say the more I use it the better it will get,

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yikes Ernie, is it windows 8? Hear so many bad things about it, I'm putting off getting a new lap top.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

There you are brother Ernie.
These new age stuffs is supposed to help us, not hinder.
Had to reinstall Windows 7 and get rid of the cumbersome 8 in the demon laptop.
I do hope you won't encounter any further wonkiness as we sure do miss you.

Good morning, and I'm off to the dentist. Don't know whether he'd take care of the broken tooth or stick to the original schedule.
Wish me luck, another good think, I can whistle better!!

Have a great week my sisters and brother Ernie.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Funny how he wanted you out of his life so bad and he is still sticking around!

Sorry about your tooth Jaye, I hope it is an easy fix.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It appears I am not the only one who had bought a new computer only to have problems that seem endless. I am on my 4th CPU unit and can't connect to the internet provider. My old one (6) would so just having trouble wrapping my head around why this one won't

Turns out the newer models (at least that is what I am told ) don't have the strong WI FI card and supposedly the signals are so much better from providers. Yeah, what ever. Bought a booster connector and still can't connect. I won't even discuss Windows 8!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully I can use Kim's while she is at work.

Tornado watch just north of us; extremely dark and raining; highs for today will be 70 but for Tuesday.....48!!! Ah the joys of living in Florida where you sweat one day and freeze the next.

Take care everyone. Busy, busy today. Going to see Mannheim Steamroller tonight.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy the show tonight Marion. I pray the storm does not develop into a tornado!
