Rm 296 "Sweet Interruptions" Hotel

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Yesterday son and I drove to a small lake not too far from us. Took Mandy along for a nice walk. Great area, lake right in among some beautiful homes.. Very relaxing area, and son found out he needs fishing license to fish so that is for another time. City really keeps it nice and Mandy just doesn't know what to think of all those ducks. A few people fishing, the city recommends that you catch and release fish. I don't fish, or never would clean one, but I enjoyed the cool breeze in the park. We stayed for a couple hours, nice to sit and enjoy nature. Tim asked why we didn't buy a house in this area, I can imagine the prices of those homes.

Hospice called me to check up on how I was doing and if they could do anything for me to just call, well that doesn't include the mortgage payment. LOL The social worker never did call me to let me know if they were paying a month's mortgage for me. I guess I can just forget about that now. I really don't feel I need to go to bereavement meetings, but they are there if I feel I need to go.

Hope all is well with everyone, praying for those who need prayers, which I know is all of us.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes Pegi, we all can use prayers and blessings, both financial and health!
Take up on the bereavement meetings. Might give you more help, than trying to cope on your own. So glad that you had a good day with Tim.

Well.. this kitten is totally brand new! I mean, ears aren't erect yet and eyes still closed.
Been feeding it every two hours, added a little bit antibiotic, as it won't be getting cholestrum from me!
Others would think I'm dumb to accept another of Kel's rescue, but I'm doing this for God. Only my sisters understand.

We have Cupcake that took an interest in the Unnamed, after Forrest got tired of 'babysitting'.
She let Unnamed get close to her but when Kel showed his exditement, Cupcake took off. She did hissed at the other cats if they get too close to Unnamed. Lolol... don't want to name it, till after 2 months.
Unnamed look so much like Cupcake.

Prayers for all in need........
Pegi - take hospice up on all they offer, and ask for what they don't - you never know what is out there unless you ask.....

Jaye - maybe Unnamed is God's way of bringing you & Kel back together, to care for one of his tiniest creatures......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Jaye, sh/he is so precious!

Asking for prayers for my daughter in law. She has been really sick for months now, and after many Dr.'s and specialist, they finally figured out it is her gall bladder and pancreas that is really inflamed. She is getting prepped for emergency surgery as we speak.

Since cupcake seems to want to be friends with unnamed. Cookie is a good name for the little one :) . She looks so cute like a little Oreo Cookie.
busy at work today
cleaned the house
nothing to exciting. I may attempt halloween decorations for the outside ? off and on rain.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

sending healing thoughts and hugs LK.
Have fun Susan.
Yes i thought you would like the name Cookie LOL. The kitty does look like a Cookie. :)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Congrats to you both, enjoy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Said my evening prayers and Heather's added to the list, LK.

Sorry Sue, I had a Cookie (A rescue that I had to use a bday cookie to entice her out of the briars) and we already have an Oreo.
I'm leaning more towards Jelly Bean if it make it. Critical stage right now. Might be a wee thing but it sure has good lungs!

Happy anniversary Susan!! Should we be expecting a wee one in 9 months??

In between feedings, I managed to cook again. Tomorrow's dinner actually, giant meatballs in spaghetti sauce. Somehow Lord gives me the strength and I pray He will see to it that I won't fail Unnamed. Kel has promised to help, very likely that won't happen just like with the others unless it's meds time!

Will rest my head in a bit.. have a restful night sisters and Ernie.

no cookie :(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the prayers everyone, she made it through surgery just fine! Now it is time for healing!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Great news LK. Keeping her in my prayers.
Take good care of that wee one Jaye. God knows.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's great LK! Heather must be anxious to return to regular life.

My promise to God, Barb, that I will do my best for His creatures that He sent. Unnamed sure can holler. Can't see, but love to climb. I will have to switch from a 8 inch high box to a taller one!
Will have to get more baby food or a can of goat's milk.

Beautiful day today that the Lord has made. Hope all will get to enjoy the outdoors for a bit. Less mosquitoes here too.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you Jaye, and NO wee one in 9 months LOL
Just you concern yourself with your Own wee one - "unknown" kitty lol

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Starting out as a nice cool day. Neighborhood very quiet, not even dogs are barking. LOL

Hope all is well with you ladies and Ernie. Just see what I can accomplish today. Clutter inside, weeds outside and I would love to go back to bed.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Enjoy sleeping in, Pegi! that's a luxury that our body needs. Since you've been under stress lately.

Pat me on my back sisters!!! Another day I drove to church!

Let me make this post more juicy.
Yesterday my church sister Carolyn invited Kel and I for church homecoming. I was apprehensive as that means seeing his wife and her daughter. Just want to avoid drama.
Later that evening there was an invitation to another church, from her DIL!!
After that invite, Kel's first cousin's wife and his second cousin, invited me to their churches!! Ain't God great? He gave me options and of course I took the one closest to me, and that's the church I went to last week.
Had a blast today! Heard the message well, and you should see the food spread. Just for desserts, they need six card tables!

A three hour celebration. One hour of eating!! Lol!!
Got home just in time to cook porchops for Kel. Yes, even though he broke my heart, I still treat him good.. but all for Jesus.
There were more lies uncovered last night and more denials.
Being in church today, does me a lot of good.

Keep the prayers coming sisters. The devil must not win.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My prayers are still coming Jaye. I shall increase the frequency and wording!!!! Love to you and I'm really glad you got to go to church.

Good news indeed Jaye. nice to have your happy tone in your post. i can feel the happyness in you.
had a wonderful weekend with Tom and my kids. We went to Yellow Springs and there was a street festival. So much fun and wonderful food !
tomorrow is monday and back to work. but it is payday. its not a livable wage but its some extra money to pay a bill here and there.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

More hugs and prayers, Jaye!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Hi Y'all !! I got great news and I can officially share it !!

my Soldier boy is on a plane, on his way home to the States!! WHOOO HOOOO ^_^ ^_^
he will arrive in NC some time after 4am tomorrow!! tonight....whatever !! Monday Morning !!!

I AM SOOOO FREAKIN EXCITED.....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

YAY!! YAY!! YAY!! Soooooo excited for you"T".

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Yay, Thunder! Home to stay??

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

OHHH how I wish, but most likely not. I can only guess, he should be remaining state side for awhile?? how long? we never know. all depends on affairs of the government.... hoping for at least 6 months, this time around, but we never really know.

I am giving him a few weeks to decompress, and be with his girls. then we are going to invade for a few days. I am dying to get my hands on him. this Momma is is big need of a hug from her #1 son.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thunder, that is great news. Please give him our thanks for his service, and give him bug hugs from all us !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I am so glad to hear you were able to go to church and visit with friend for that feast! Our prayers will continue as well!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow Thunder, how could you stand not going to him, right now? Praise God for bringing him home.. praise Him.
I know your cell phone will be busy!

Working on Columbus Day, Sue? Well, extra money is always nice. Seems that the kids enjoy being around Tom too.

Good morning sisters and Ernie.
I took upon myself a 24 hour challenge NOT to complain, starting at 7 yesterday evening.
So, happy words here!

Truly happy and grateful, Barb that you'll increase the prayers. All my sisters here have touched my hearts with their love and empathy.

Am blessed that He's using my trials to bring out others into the light. One DG friend has been suffering for much longer with her MIL and she's still trying to salvage what's left of her DH.
She had suicidal thoughts, but now let the Lord do the battle for her.

Such a great day to wake up to, Morning routines keep my feet going.
Unnamed now recognise the sound of my voice and will wail each time I call the kitties!!
It is now taking at least 4cc every 3 hours, and knows how to work the tube. :D
Eyes still haven't opened.

I had cooked black bean chilli last night and that will be Kel's breakfast. Added some brown sugar hoping to reduce the side effects of beans!

You all have a fantastic blessed WEEK.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Jaye, you're up early. Chili for breakfast?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Why not??? It's like pizza - good anytime!!!
Glad to see your post Jaye. And that you are off to a running start this morning. Best time of the day for me.

kids have school today but not friday ?
yep work today.
well i better get back to the day.
have a wonderful day everyone,
raining here but warm ! icky looks like we may hit 75 ! bets the cold ... not complaining

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh we'll have the not complaining ball rolling today!!
Not complaining too as the chilli's good anytime! Yep, just like pizza, LK.

Barb, I love to top mine not with cheese, but some fresh chopped green onions or either celery. Forgot about sour cream, but still good without it. And black beans are much healthier.

Sis Kathy if you're lurking, stay OFF your feet please. Need that back to heal.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh crap! What happened to Sissy?

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Good morning to all. Jaye remember there are not a lot of answers mostly just questions. Refuse to blame your self because that's what a mental abuser does. He trys to blame you and makes you shoulder the burden of misery. Hope you have a great day pretty one.

I am off to can salmon. I love to can I am a canner in my younger years I canned millons of cases of salmon for Del Monte foods. Oh thos Alaskan summers were a blast if I was single I would have stayed in Alaska. I went all over the place. Mostly Bristol Bay and Southeast Alasks. I did do a tour out on the chain at Dutch harbor. Kodiak Island at both the town and out at Larsen Bay. Prince William sound. My goodness it was fun working from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm then sport wishing till mid night then go to sleep and get up and do it over. Wow now I would die after the third day of that.

Chili is just not right without fresh green onions .cheese, and a few jalapenos.

OK off to can.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Not my chili Ernie, I'm a wimp of the first order. Oh the cheese is OK. LOL

Much as I hate the cold, I do love Alaska. Couldn't take being so far away from all my family though. They are what keeps me going.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

My friend just told me her DH made some chili and didn't have enough beans so added black beans and she said it was so good. Never thought about putting black beans in chili, but next time I make some it will have black beans. Green onions and cheese is great on top of chili. Making myself hungry now.

Ernie i have a relatives in Palmer AK. Always have wanted to go.
I love to can also. I used to do so much canning. The last few years i just have not had the need to do so much. I do some canning for fair, I also do salsa's and jellies and jams.
I gave up on pressure canning.
mmmm chilli. I was thinking of making some today but got a flank steak instead LOL

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Pegi black bean chili Is very popular. If you Google black bean chili you will find several recipes. Some are vegetarian and some are with turkey . Some take as little as 30 minutes some 90 minutes. Most advise toppings like onions and cheese.

We canned 30 pints of salmon today thought it was 21 but I recounted. Ever do that struggle with something and recount and realize you were struggling with something that was wrong and now you can rest because you know the truth.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't forget to make a skillet full of cornbread to go with that chili.

Ernie, that is a lot of salmon!
