Got my ice, I'll have a sip, please!

Betty, that JRT was definitely a terror. The people that adopted him had only had JRTs in their life, and were used to them. I had seen them about six months down the line and they had said he was really one of the hardest they ever had trained. He was doing better, but never able to calm and train. You know it is bad when the kids say "mom...please get rid of this dog".

Is very dark and overcast, raining......yes Betty, keep an eye out.

good to know about the JRT . at a shelter i think most of the breed is all guess work. I honeslty don't see any JRT in this dog ? she has a pit face and body. Maybe a bit in the face with her longer nose ? but its all guess work IMHO.
She is a fiesty little dog with lots of energy. I m looking for that in a dog. I need a more active dog to go for long walks , flyball, and other dog play stuff.
Lucy can't do lots of things due to her knees and hips.

Victoria Harbour, ON

So DS like you've made up your mind Sue, what do the kids think?

Just heard from Linda, she sure is relieved to be home, doubt she will want tot ravel for a bit, gave her quite the fright.

Debbie, sun is actually out..best I start to get dressed if I'm taking mom shopping..then it's grocery shopping for me.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well my vicious Cocker, just allowed Amelia to pull her out of the room by her tail. Amelia will also hang on to her collar and take her where she wants her to be, She thinks Lacey makes a fine pillow. Amelia's still learning to "be nice". I try to be vigilant but can't be everywhere at once, good thing Lacey is such a sweetheart.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Westies, of which we have 3, have a tendency to be a bit ill willed if they haven't been brought up around kids .. they don't bite, but, the need to be watched .. our re homer, Zoey .. was around kids and is fine ..

Hair is cut, GADS I look like my Mom of a sudden, not a bad thing, but, having had pitch black hair and now being snow white/silver, i'm my Mam ^_^
Lorna's is short and neat.

Heading outside for a bonfire, cool and windy here .. maybe 65F .. NO humidity !!!

Glad Bill did well, minus the IV problem .. hope he can go home too ..

ENJOY!!

YAY!!! Heading home as soon as discharge papers arrive!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Frightening "M" when we look in the mirror and see our mom's..not because of looks, just how did we get there..I'm young at heart providing I don't look in the mirror.

storm just went through, nasty, mom called and told me to stay home
got to say I wasn't upset by that as I still have my nighty on

looking at the clock, why bother changer now when bedtime is so near!!!

doing happy dance Joyce, great news about Bill

how is the weather in your neighborhood Dianne? likely same as ours

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

People always say I look like mine but I argue that. She was little and slender. I never was and she never let me forget it.

good to hear Bill and you are heading home . Sending healing energy to him

mulege, Mexico

Good news here. My trip was tiring but blessedly uneventful. I met and liked the doctor who will do the surgery. Also met with two support people and had lab work done. I'm dealing with lots of information and lots of support. I have the option of staying in the hospital the night of the surgery. Nice to know. I need to get appointments. The surgery could be in anywhere from one to five weeks. I'm hoping to find out today but might not until Monday. Also have to get checked for a possible kidney stone. Will make any appointments I can this afternoon and then veg for the weekend.

Bites are healing up fine. Site of the scorpion sting is still a little swollen but not painful. I had one really horrible scorpion sting about ten years ago. Have had a few milder ones since. They are not pleasant but also not life-threatening.

Hoping Noah gets the help he needs. Such a difficult situation.

I'm off to make calls for appointments and to rest.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What kind of surgery Katie? Glad you made the trip OK!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good to know you arrived okay and all seems to be going well, Katie. Hope you don't get caught up in Hurricane Norbert's heavy rains. I do hope you can get appointments lined up as you want them. Rest and be careful.

We are having "thumbles and biting" here. When GSJordan was 3, that was what he called thunder and lightning storms. Temps in the 90's and thunderstorms with or without rain, most afternoons/evenings.

Good thoughts to you all. Hope everyone has a calm, sweet weekend.

Lyndonville, NY

LindaKay I think she was having breast biopsy done.

Glad you arrived safely and like your medical team....that is SO important.

Victoria Harbour, ON

thrilled to hear you made it safely but happier knowing you can spend the night..worry about you in that van...

so after the biopsy you will not head home until you get the results right?

Thumbles and biting here as well Jean

wow, think it's time to shut off this laptop..don't worry about ipad but do worry about computer sewing machines and laptop

upstairs I go

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad I unplugged everything..omg what a storm
Went to weather station..warning n effect

Severe Thunderstorm watch
Issued at Friday, 5 September, 2014 3:35 PM

Tune in to TWN channel for more details. Conditions will be favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms through the afternoon and early evening hours. Damaging wind gusts, large hail and torrential rainfall are all threats. Isolated tornadoes are also a risk.
Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required, so stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet with the hashtag #ONStorm. For more information: http://www.emergencymanagementontario.ca/english/beprepared/beprepared.html.

Betty, it is on the edge here.....and starting again. I have to shut everything down.

This storm is huge, looks like it is up to your area....and me.

Stay safe.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Say a tornado hit in port Severn/six mile lake
When I lived on the bay when roger was alive we were hit a couple times

Many of you visited with me and I took you to see the one of a kind lock..big chute..then arb, norm, remember the lock we dpstood at and watched it work, well area hit between those two

They say downed trees are preventing many from leaving their homes

Dianne and most of my friends still live there

Will wait till morning and start calling

Guess I'll be cleaning up tomorrow's, thankfully I hope only branches

Storm is past in your area now Betty?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes,

Was just outside, lots of branches, few limbs to pick up so lucky

Ground is just actuated, sump pump working overtime, no flooding so all is well in my world

Waiting until 9 so I can start calling friends to make sure the are ok.

Not a day to do much as cut grass so will take mom shopping this afternoon and nice again play in sewing room

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers for all affected by that storm. We sure do remember the lock Betty. I still look at the pictures I took there following a boat's progress through the lock. Hoping all are okay.
We are supposed to get the storm today.. Not nearly as bad as you did though as it has lost some of its punch by the time it gets here.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Happy Birthday, Barb!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Happy birthday Barb!

Jeepers.... No storms here, but windy.
Internet is goofy though, so using my BlackBerry
Hope all is well with your friends Betty.

Dump day here, and Gordon said I could tidy his garage 'Man Cave '
So much cardboard! Needs to be recycled, he's a hoarder, I'm not!

Crows are sure noisy!

Enjoy your day

Let echo the "Happy Birthday Barb" and as was already said, I'm sure Norm has it all under control and will be spoiling you extra special today.

Betty, I'm happy to hear all is OK in your place, a few branches sounds like a good deal compared to what it could have been!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Storm was bad just 30 miles from us but all we got was heavy rain.

Barb you sure are stacking up the birthday cakes. Wonderful day to you.

Lyndonville, NY

We lost power for a little over an hour during the night....must have been bad, but I slept right through it.

Is chilly this morning....and very over cast.

HAPPY Birthday Barb!!!! Wishing you a beautiful day and much happiness and good health for the year ahead.

Oh Debbie, I LOVE the flowers on that cake! I do wish I had that skill but I need another hobby like a hole in the head.

Lyndonville, NY

Pat, I can barely frost a cake....wish I had the talent! (don't tell Barb it is off internet images)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I took the Wilton cake course and I still couldn't do that cake!! Love it!!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Happy Birthday Barb !
Glad to be seeing every one ok from the storm.
That is a beautiful cake. One of my sisters did cake decorating. She did my wedding cake. It was wonderful! A beautiful shade of yellow, covered with daisies!
I wish I had a picture.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Happy Birthday, Barb.

Gorgeous cake! My son learned cake decorating when he was 14 and worked for his best friends family's bakery. I wish he would have stuck with it, but he worked there for 6 years, that was 12 years ago, and he got to the point where he didn't want to see another cake!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon all,

Went to take mom shopping and did she shop..went to a woman's shop, out of my league but she insisted I buy myself a top..did so, black with thin white stripes and I think a few sparklies.

When I got the the residence all the women were gabbing, she was waiting with her overnight bag in hand so she is here reading a magazine, I'm cooking spaghetti..all the branches on the lawn will have to wait till tomorrow..can't cut grass until all is picked up.

Making spaghetti, her favorite. Glad I have 2 pieces to do binding in hand sewing.

Love the cake.

My grandfather owner a bakery shop, remember when I was a little girl dropping in after school with friends, always a treat for us. Made all our wedding cakes
Would you believe it if I said I could decorate a cake?? Lol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, I would believe VERY easily that you can decorate a cake. You are amazing, not sure there is much you can't do if you put your mind to it.
