OH my Sue, do it again, but video it and post on Youtube!! You'd be Ohio's sensation!
Kj sorry to hear of your brothers problem. I all but quit drinking when I was 25. I fought all the time I never started it but never failed to swing when provoked. I decided I would quit all that stuff because I drove drunk and fought. Getting a grasp the drunk driving was a sure brush with the law and the fighting . I decided there were some truly bad people out there so I just quit that to.
Jaye The person I have lived with is the one who has driven me insane for 48 years she is such a sweetheart. She feeds me and keeps my medicine straight. She keeps my appointment book and buys my clothes. When I married her I won the lottery.
I remember the 30 unit nights along with a big dose of Lantus at bed time. My a1c was 10.5 now it is 6.2 and I take neither anymore. Golly ghee I remember blood sugars in the 450-550 range.
We are down to I usable bathroom and the kitchen is taking shape. The sheetrock has been repaired and the electrical is almost done. The new sub flooring is going in tomorrow and the cabinets come the next day. We have pre painted the bead board for the wainscoting. and will start the trim next week. My hope is to avoid a mad rush for the finish line.
Sept. 9 is FASD. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Day. This affects our family directly. It never gets better, it never goes away. A beautiful child is forever damaged.

Morning everyone!
Kathy where does your Brother live?
Sue, don't work too hard!
Karen, just last week a Mother in San Antonio went to the hospital to give birth, and she was so drunk. When the baby was delivered, she asked to see him, and they said you don't have a son, he has been turned over to child protective services, because you were drinking while pregnant, and that is considered child abuse.
Good for San Antonio I can't abide women who do that or 420 or any other junk while mothers much less pregnant ones. It is hypocritical to be telling Johnny to not use drugs as she takes puffs of her MJ ciggy. It is just not right to subject your unborn child to drugs or booze. He she doesn't get a choice and that's just not right. Ok off the soap box you all know and agree with every thing I have said.

my brother lives in upstate new yourk, linda
Hits us hard. Our beautiful adopted granddaughter is FASD. She has and will always have difficulties. It doesn't go away. It's totally preventable. It is indeed child abuse.
My male Beta had eggs last nite. Help! What happens next?
From what I just read on Google search, females will lay eggs, and then eat them right away. You need to separate them. But if there is no male, they are not fertile, and there will be no little Betta's.
Males build a bubble nest, might look like eggs but if only one fish, no eggs.
Adding my wishes Synda! Hope Rick and Ryan treat you extra good.
Hello sistahs and Ernie!
That's great of San Antonio to recognize the severity of FASD Linda. I haven't heard such thing happening here, and for a bible belt community, we sure have a lot of back door Baptists..
Karen, I went ahead and bought the books! Kel upset me so much last night that I went shopping!!
Ernie, please take some pictures of your kitchen WIP.
I ate two unriped apples off my tree. First was so good, crisp, semi tart that I can't leave the second one alone. Now I'm paying for it!!
Yay for you Jaye.
Jaye hope you feel better.
I had my first apple from the orchard today and it was so yummy ! Honey Crisp. and i have some others called smoothies.
busy day
cleaned the cider press room, took 4 hrs. i smell like bleach yuk ,
then to the gym
got home and have been on the couch , knee is killing me. Leg work out at the gym.
hard to get up the stairs.
Tom is coming over tonight . can't wait.
Im sorry to hear of the young babies that have FAS, i saw my SIL take drugs while pregnant and her second baby died. Sad. :(
Our FAS child is now 15. It's so sad that we will never know what her full potential would have been.
Jaye I am afraid I won't get any work in progress pictures. I don't have my new camera set up with my new computer sigh. I am stuck waiting on the geek.
Taynors so you have an apple pressing room and an orchard . How big? How much cider do you make? Do you dehydrate apples to? Inquiring minds want to know. I have half a dozen trees and the chickens get most of them. I do get some sauce for the freezer and some pies. More sweets that I don't need. I get most of my apples from the apple farm down the road. My dehydrator is pretty big its 25 racks I also have a 9 or 10 rack one. It takes two hours to slice and fill the dryer so I usually only fill the big one. I love dried apples both just to eat and in my oatmeal yum yum,
Good morning my dearest sistahs and brother, and to those lurking.
We'll raise our coffee cups to the ones that died on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001.
On that day, we shared sorrows glued to the tube. After the call from a friend to turn the tv on, I was like a zombie The tv seized my attention, and I felt useless that I can't help.
The generation before us will remember the day JFK was shot.. us, its 09/11/2001;
Over 3000 had died, and 1400 rescue workers.
Where were you when that happened?
We won't ever forget and keep on hoping that current and future govts. will be efficient in weeding out terrorists and sleeper cells on our soil.
I was on the phone with my sister in FL. I very seldom have the TV on but hers was, We were just chatting and all of a sudden she gasped and told me to turn on CNN, a plane had just hit the Tower. Then we sat together on the phone, when the second plane struck we realized it was not an accident and cried together as the towers fell. I was alone and she was alone but somehow we were together as it happened. I then called my hubby, at the shop there were no radios or TVs so they were all unaware until I called. Never will I ever forget.
I was alone and couldn't budge from the tv. To see people running for cover and clouds of dust following them, that's like a scene from a movie.
The week before, the plant had announced its impending closure, so using my vacation days, I had quit early.
There's a tv in the mechanics' office that one had brought to follow football. That was the gathering point for most of my colleagues I found out. They said that even gruffy, greasy mechanics cried.

I was in Kentucky, getting ready to go to the airport to fly to New York. My dad was in the hospital.
Was your flight cancelled, Sis?
I was in Key Largo as Ross had taken the day off from work so we could go shopping in Homestead. Called my BFF in Gainesville as her 2 sons worked near the towers.....she was gardening and hadn't heard. She called her sons then called me back to let me know they were both okay.....hadn't left for work yet.
I was home, I had a church sister call me to turn on the TV. When I saw what was happening, I got Todd out of bed, as he was working night shift then. We both just sat there and cried for all that were lost! Even now watching the memorial on TV brings back those sad moments!
And we cried more when we listened to Todd Beamer..
Oh JOY, JOY, JOY!!!
Happy birthday Marion!!! You brought out the smiles today!
Thanks LK and Jaye. It is hard to really celebrate when you think what happened on this day 13 years ago. On the bright side, that also was the day Ross found the Mau at Orcat and was trying to talk me into getting her.....the rest is history.
I do hope BobbiBadCat will give you a purrrrfect day!!
Not to be! Yesterday she came in when Kim left for school and curled up beside to sleep...really nice and enjoyable. This morning she made a "bee" line for the tubing on my CPAP..not so enjoyable.
