Betty, my leg is much better, an Paul is healing. Hand is looking and feeling much better.
Marla is doing better also and eating well. She is very lonely in the room isolated.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends old/new
"M" we are so concerned about the eyesight and itchiness .. Worry right along with you.
So hope your doctor will put you through rigorous testing to get to the bottom of it.
Prayers coming your way!
Debbie glad all 3 of you are healing..Marla must be so lonesome cooped up on her own.
Must be quiet now the boys are in college and Shane returning to the west..
Boy my sleep pattern sure has changed over the weekend..tummy just a churning..anyone have a trick to turning off the brain?
Betty, it is...and I am enjoying it right now.
I go up with Marla every day, and DH moved the kitty tree up there with her, and she has toys.
If I knew how to turn the brain off...trust me, I would. I have been so high strung and can't concentrate or anything. DH made waffles for breakfast...my favorite...and I couldn't even eat them!!!
I just can't simmer down and plant my mind...or my feet.
Hoping one of us comes up with something to do so
Just want to go to seep
Took pain meds, usually it helps
Thought of taking a 2nd one but decided that would be a no no
Think it might help to turn off the news, that is depressing in itself
I like to put music on to go to sleep...then think of the song, and put a dream in your head.
It helps, is how I used to get the kids to sleep too. Give them something to dream....a trip to the beach, a great memory.
I had one child that was especially difficult to get to bed and asleep... I agreed to rub the bottom of his feet and sing to him if he would be quiet and hold still. That generally did the trick!
If my mind won't shut off sometimes it's helpful for me to picture a teddy bear hamster on an exercise wheel going round and round. Much better than counting sheep for me!
When my brain won't settle enough to rest, I make things in my head....a story, a painting...design a flower arrangement, what ever I enjoy at the moment. A cool dark room, comfortably settled in and close my eyes.
For you Betty, with your talents, I would suggest perhaps designing a quilt or a painting. The nice thing is, you can design your textiles, textures, colors, etc.....for example: a jewel tone quilt of velvet circles.... Then with eyes closed, imagine the material...the texture of the velvet...
and so on... It may take a bit, but if you really try to see the project in your mind's eye...you will relax and drift off with your thoughts.
For many people that would work but for me, I can't settle down if I "design", I get too excited to sleep!
For you, Pat, a story about a Teddy bear Hamster on a cross country trip. GRIN
Ya, THAT would work!! Or I can see the little fella on cross country skiis, crossing some of our local pastures... OOOPSS??? is that a cat I see????
Off to the hospital.....wish us luck!
Dang, just got a scorpion sting on the index finger of my left hand. heck of a way to wake up. probably won't get back to sleep. too scarey. max is trying to catch it but it's gone.
took two pain kilers. finger is swelling up.
katie
OMG "M"!!!!! I just read on line about SJS and that is really scary. I can't believe the docs you have already seen haven't done something. Sending prayers for competence today when you see your own doc.
"M" adding my thoughts with Barb. This has gone on way to long, not to mention all the discomfort you have endured.
LOL, Pat , my kids are always accusing me of "oops, there goes a chicken". Just part of my personality I guess. Glad to see someone else has that trait. I think that means we are creative!!! :-)
Trying to get back into a normal working pattern after all the comings and goings of the past 5 days. At least everyone is well and starting to return to normal...whatever that is around here.
Katie!!! Please take care of that hand....that would scare me to death.
Jean, it is so nice seeing you posting again. Missed you lady.
Joyce, thoughts are with you today. Hoping everything goes extremely well.
M hope things go well at the Dr. Sure hope you get some relief soon.
Sending you and BIll well wishes Cookie. HOpe the surgery goes well.
love the quilts Betty and Rita are doing. very pretty.
Oh my Katie a scorpian bite. ouch ! sending healing energy to you
heading to the gym in a few min.
then hopefully to the grocery
♥♥♥hugs ♥♥♥ for Y'All
Prayers for you and Bill, Cookie.
Katie - I can't imagine being so calm about a scorpion bite!!! You are amazing.
Hoping things calm down plenty for you Marion. You have been going strong for quite a while now....
I'm with you Pat - once my mind starts, I'm awake for a while longer!!!! LOL
Music would keep me awake too because I'd be wondering what the next song will be!!!! Most likely - "Anticipation"!!!!!!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Our lake was very quiet all weekend.
Sending positive thoughts Joyce as you and Bill set out for the hospital.
Oh my Katie, this is the second one in just a short while isn't it? Just glad Max didn't bite you as well. How is your bite healing?
Anxious to hear what your doc has to say M. Hoping he will pay more attention to your symptoms and itches. I know the docs in the ICU face challenges each day - that is the nature of the unit. I understand about you not going back too as I am the same - lets wait and see what happens type of person too. Sending positive thoughts.
Betty, our Crissy is pregnant ? Do you have her new snail mail addy? Loved the colours in Rita's quilt also.
Barb glad to hear Norm is starting to feel better. Hard being on the road when you feel like that. Am still getting the dizzies. I just don't mention them in the crazed belief if I don't talk about them maybe they will just go away. lol.
Cleaning lady is here so I best run herd over my boys and get them outside so she can do this room. Duke is really blowing his coat right now - I could vacuum twice a day and still have a mess on the floor within and hour of finishing.
So Marion did you take a deep breath this morning and sy to yourself "so this is what a quiet house sounds like?"
Dianne
Omg omg Crissy, pregnant. Can feel her excitement without even seeing her post
Wow..maybe Debbie has it?
My thoughts and prayers are with bill (Joyce) and 'M'
Hope we get a post from both letting us know with update of the day. I sure hope what 'M' suspects is not the culprit ... With eyesight going know she will have Lorna type us a report, if no news I'll call tonight.
Katie,Katie shaking my head, as Barb says I'd be beyond myself..do you thing with the dig bite, scorpion bite and weather that the Lord is telling you not to go right now? Hope meds help
Mario, did the oven ever get connected? You just enjoy your day, feet up and leaf through your favorite magazine.
Thunder, getting closer to finishing hubs quilt? Is he suspicious
Pat, you are too funny! How did you find a cat in the dreams
Waiting for a call from Greg, don't want to press him at work, hoping tonight he or Kyle will give me an update.
Got to check up on mom, see if her weekend with aunt Muriel went well and is she back at the home..if she is then I have to visit this aft.
Was organizing fabrics from weekend projects, omg wouldn't you know have enough to do another twister...Stephanie, godchild will get one after all
Who said Crissy is pregnant???? I know nothing!!!!! Ummmm....be back.
OK, waiting for reply from her.....she should stop in.
Having stomach issues today for some reason. I think I have developed a problem with
orange juice, which is something I love.
Don't put crafting ideas in Bettys head at bedtime....she will get up and make them! haha
M....hugs and prayers, so glad you are going back!!! When I had SJS...they wanted me in hospital on IV antibiotics and steroids. I fought it....went back every day for a week while on steroids and creams....mine was NO WHERE near as bad as yours.
Joyce, hugs and prayers for you and Bill today also...
Deep breath....need a prayer for safe travels. My boy is on his way home.
I am home, and happy to say I will live a while longer LoL
I was my docs first appt after his 3 weeks off .. when I took my blouse off he just stood there .. I believe it's called 'gobsmacked' !!
The redness has faded, but, I am completetly 'exfoliating', from the soles of my feet up my skin is shedding, the itch is INTENSE and ongoing despite creams and benadryl ..
I am back on prednisone for about a month .. oh yay .. sleepless nights and 'roid rage' .. BUT ,, just maybe it'll calm down the itchies!!
I try NOT to think of the 'down side' to the prednisone with these old bones of mine .. gonna have to drink a large glass of milk a day FOR SURE .. already take mega doses of Vit D.
SO .. there ya have it ..
Appreciation to everyone for T&Ps, they worked , yet again ..
HUGS for eveyone not feeling well, specially with ZINGER bites .. man, if I saw a Scorpion, Willie Coyote wouldn't even be able to catch me running !! I'd PASS the RoadRunner !!!
Betty, hope your day goes well as it unfolds .. would imagine Noah's plate is quite full of all types of people today ..
Crissy .. pregnant .. holy moly .. !
Keep well everyone
HUGS all around
~M~
But what "M" did he say it was?? Sigh of relief
Debbie, doing the happy dance, so glad Shane is on his way home. Yippeeeeee
Sorry about orange juice
Girls are here, great lunch
Be back in a bit
I repeat....Crissy is NOT NOT NOT pregnant!!!!
M...great news, slow and steady
Then I had best not be making a baby blanket then.
Was already wondering what fabric I had. Lol
Diagnosis is something called 'SERUM SICKNESS' .. an acute reaction to a drug .. deals with the blood which is why I looked 'scalded' ..
Good to hear Crissy is not in the 'family way' ^_^
~M~
Yes, the oven is connect but with all the activity around here would you believe I haven't baked anything yet.
Ah yes, the house is nice....but Kim is usually very quiet when she is home. Especially so this time as she was sleeping of the effects of the drugs used. However when the GDs are here...quiet just doesn't happen!!
We're here and I'm happy to say all went very well!!
Bill's surgery was scheduled for 7:30. We were pulling in to McDonalds at 9:10!! Couldn't have gone better and he's as chipper as could be! Now prayers please for the kidney stone removal on Thursday.
Ouch, Katie. Hope you're not feeling too bad with your bite!
M, hope the prednisone helps. Our dog, Cayenne, has been on prednisone for almost 3 weeks now. She acts like she is starving to death at all times! She is much better though from her skin infection.
Glad to know our Crissy isn't pregnant. I don't think she needs that on her plate right now, but then again....we don't know God's plan for her!!
Serum Sickness, hmm something to beware
Did he say it could cause problems with your eyesight??
Let's hope good news when you see the eye doctor.
Marion, never quiet when grands are about regardless of age.
Guess its too hot for oven??
Rita dropped in, had a nice conversation re her girlfriend Shirley, she could feel I wasn't receptive to her.
She said they left around noon...
Apparently she was at Rita every second, why this, why not that, how come. Etc etc
Finally yesterday she broke down crying and told her she is dealing with divorce (nasty one)
Upgrading the mobile home from top to bottom with very little $$$, having a problem with contractor, plumbing done wrong, floors walls damaged, having to go to court for that, her daughter who has 2 girls 9-11 and met a guy who would be with her forever, wanting to start a family, finding out that she's pregnant and he says bye bye..talk about a load, did she need this constant put down..said it was a terrible 2 days. When Rita asked her hubby what the problem is, he said she is lke that all the tme.
After Rita broke down Rita said she could see that Shirley was going to run her down for something else but she changed her mind
Rita said she was going to quilt tonight but changed her mind, needs an evening to rest
Again...that woman needs a swift kick in the arse!!
Betty, is Rita's daughter named Crissy? You were the one that posted that Crissy was pregnant.
Perhaps you were talking about a friend there Betty.
"Crissy called and she is having baby" from your post Monday afternoon.
Have you heard from Rita?
Good thoughts and fingers crossed for Dr and hospital visits/surgery.
Debbie so happy Shane is on his way home. HUGS for you.
Enjoy your day Marion....I am sure you have "on-hold" projects that have been calling you.
Glad you have a solid diagnosis and treatment, M.
Good news about Norm, Barb. I know you are both relieved.
Dianne, the 2 beagles and 4 cats are all shedding like crazy here. I swear each time I brush them that I get enough hair to cover a Saint Bernard..grin.
Take care, Hope you all have a lovely afternoon.
M glad you got some meds' to help with some relief. Dear goodness what a mess you have gone through. gentle hugs (())
still waiting on the phone with medicaid. Still waiting to be approved. Sure glad they appreciate me on hold LOL and they thank me for waiting. gee like i have a choice ?
Jean's got it right. I didn't mean to start a rumour. I thought maybe Betty you had been talking to our Crissy. She is going to have a fit. Sorry Crissy!!
It has suddenly gone almost dark as night outside - you need a lamp on to read. Wind has really picked up but no rain yet.
Dianne
Dianne, Black out there and mega rumbling going on here, did rain for most of the afternoon.
Yep, Rita's daughter is called Crissy!! Ooops
Joyce, great news re Bill's proceedure, hope he's home and resting. Did they do both or is the other yet to be scheduled?
Jean, that is quite the troupe of furries you have, means constant vacuuming.
I can't believe just with missy always laying on coffee table how much hair there is.
Sue, what proceedure are you wait g for approval for?
Bill is scheduled for the kidney stone removal on Thursday. We have to be there at 8:00. Surgery scheduled for 10:00. That will be a hospital stay of one to three days for that one. Today's procedure lasted about 15 minutes. The kidney stone will take at least an hour. Today's incision is about a quarter inch, Thursdays' much bigger. He'll also be catheterized and there will be a drainage tube in his side. Not looking forward to this one, but surely are ready to get it over with!!
Sue is waiting to see if she is approved for Medicaid. It's like Medicare for younger, money-challenged people. The twins are on Tim's insurance but he dropped Sue.
Will keep Bill in my prayers.
Lordy that was mean of Tim..likely no skin off his back to have left her on it for a tad.
Think we've missed the storm, no more boom bang
Mom is back in residence since late last night, asked why she didn't call, said she was busy doing her wash/ironing and was reading a book so I will go have supper with her tomorrow.
Tired tonight, when in town I bought more gravol, that almost always works so might try to keep myself busy for a few hours and if I can then I'm sure with the aid of gravol I'll sleep like a babe
well after 2 hrs of wrong numbers and waiting on hold. The paper work i have, the numbers are completely wrong ! they are for child abuse and welfare fraud ect... family services office .
Leave it to the government to screw up the numbers to call for info.
i did actually find a person and talked with them. my application is still pending.
i know there is somthing online that gives me an account and i can check in to that. But i can't remember the darn info . Can't find the paper work on it either. grrrr.
Bites and stings are healing fine. Still some pain from the possible kidney stone - one reason I don't want to delay the scheduled medical care. Maria came over for a visit and will be back soon for a mango/papaya feast. I'm trying to stay awake so I can sleep tonight. Tony checked oil and stuff and I got the gas tank filled. I'll have two full days to make the trip. It will be nice to be where it's a litle cooler (and less humid).
I'm not planning much like side trips or shopping with all that's going on. I have a good friend in San Francisco and, depending on what the medical people tell me, he may fly down and keep me company for a few days.
Maria says she's impressed with how calm I am. All I can do is keep breathing and take things as they come. Like all of us here.
I do think I will use some bug spray around the bed to discourage any scorpions and their friends.
hugs, katie
