Took some pics of our Asiatic lilies .. beautiful this year, and, should have a bumper crop of daylilies in a week ..

Thanks so much .. those Asiatic Lilies are MANY years old .. they didn't produce for a few YEARS .. I about dug'em out and pitched'em, BUT (always that but) .. Lorna said NO! Leave them .. how right she was.. my absolute favourite flower.. or .. is it the yelloww daylilies, the bleeding heart .. and on and on ..
LOVE the perennials ..

So .. I would imagine Betty is creeping closer to Chicago ? A fair piece away ..
I wonder if she is the only driver ? Do Rita or Suzanne spell her off?

Evening all, quick post

We are in Michigan city, ate at cracker barrel and no girls were good, no shopping.we are about an hour away from Chicago, have to tell you all about our encounter with a gorgeous hunk..yep someone acted up. Let's say he will remember us. Lol

Hopefully we will be up and at it, like to stop and see the dunes in the a.m., maybe Gary Indiana to see birthplace I'd maichael Jackson for the girls then downtown

Had a nice dinner last night with Brandon. He came and spent the evening with Norm and I and leaves for Ohio on Aug 12. He is excited and a bit scared as he hasn't been far away from home on his own before. He will be fine and we assured him that we would always be within reach for him.

I'm working on mittens today to get them ready to donate. So far have made seven pairs; working on number eight. Thank heaven for AC as I couldn't knit without it.

I'll be heading there in a couple of hours myself, for the Antiques Roadshow taping this afternoon. Have my treasures packed up and set to go. Was hoping to get my hair cut this morning, but, that didn't work out. If any of my things get chosen to be on the show, it'll be up to them to make me look presentable. (the tickets say if you are chosen you go through hair and makeup before taping!).

Deb, I went to an Antique Roads Show here in Thunder Bay .. very interesting ... I had some Arapaho (sp) jewellery .. a Squash Blossom necklace .. he valued it at $140. .. and, I had some old Irish Beleek cups and saucers .. he didn't place a value on them, just siad they were more for 'memory' ..
PAINTINGS were the big winners here .... the woman with a painting of a young girl near a lilac bush about fainted when the fella told her it was done by an obscure painter .. who had painted perhaps 10 pieces .. anyway .. $25,000. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was exhuberant!!!

Hot and humid here today .. DGD 'Sweet 16' BDay party tonight .. she turns 16 on the 29th.
Can hardly believe it !.

So enjoyed ourself, of course a special day just being with Steve and Judy

We are in Springfield Illinois at a lovely hilton Garden Inn, beautiful suite..exactly where we were to be on day 2 ..so far right on budget, oops not quite forgot to add in parking for downtown Chicago..$32.00 + tip, I gave the lady a tip, girls didn't realize it and gave another attendant a tip. Lol

Our schedule got ticked off as complete.

We went to Indiana dunes and walked the shoreline.
Then Michael Jackson's birthplace, wery well kept except for the surrounding area, Gary Indiana sure hit by the economy ..sad

Then down town Chicago, breakfast, met up with Steve and Judy, gave hugs, more hugs. Lol

Did the Magnificent Mile, wendella boat tour, Hancock towers 95th Signature room for lunch

Had a few side stops I thought me might throw in but omg you would not believe the thousands/thousands of people doing same as we

Would chat longer but I is tired. Lol

Had a great day at Antiques Roadshow. Lots of standing and waiting in line. I found out a small petit point tapestry purse that belonged to my great grandmother is worth $175, a locket I was told was basically worthless, and my daughter's violin is worth only $400 - $500 because it was revarnished, nicely revarnished, but it's not the original, so that more than cuts the value from $2500 to $3000. At least we got a bit of history on the maker, and it was dated as being made in the 1880's. It was really interesting seeing what people were bringing in.

I hope Betty and her crew had a good day, and are safely continuing on their journey.

The 'Sweet 16' BDay was nice .. have a pic of DS and DGD
DS, Murray, had just gotten home from a 4 day fishing trip, have a pic of one of the big Northern Pike he caught .. it went back into the water .. all I could think about was the fact they SWIM in that water !!! That fish is 42" long !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GAWD LindaK ..those Alligator Gar sound horritying!! .. wheras you say they won't hurt you, the Northern Pike will if given a chance .. common knowledge here in Canada not to dangle your hand in the lake water if you have a shiney ring on .. have a friend who required 22 sutures to close the bite mark ..

Been quite a day
Here in Branson, did the Titanic and murder mystery show

Someone ended up kabitsing with the actors, can you guess who??

Rita is on a high, loved zip lining, braver than I, that last 100ft jump well let's just say it would never be me.

Rita is doing everyone's laundry for Linda and Suzanne, Suzanne and Linda are gone shopping..I'm the one in Jammie's nursing my knee and relaxing.

Tomorrow is a grueling day, 8 hours drive to Plano Texas to see the ranch where Dallas was taped, hopefully downtown Dallas to see where John F Kennedy was shot..museum and grassy knowl then hoping to drive another 3 hours to Waco Tx.

We will see how the day goes.....

Want to stay and chat but must get my bath before the girls get back
