Room 289 at the Sweet Interruptions Hotel.
Michael and I were both awake all nite. She is fine, I talked to her a little while ago. She has about 4 hours left. She is moving back, but when I don't know
i had an area that had 8' weeds and it was a jungle . tore it down, chopped it , raked it, and i sprayed it., hope to get it pretty by fall. I will mulch and do some little plants.
but boy am i wiped out.
also think i have another headache coming on ... not good. don't know why i m having so many headaches ? this is three in 7 days.
Must be the change......in weather I mean!! LOL!
Change is weather will make bad headaches! take something before it gets too bad!
For the last month I have not been able to walk the dogs due to a spot in my back that gets aggravated just from walking (Have appt with doc July 22 ) so early this morning I took Harlee for a walk around Ellis Lake, it had been so long since we've walked around it. Just took my time, but the "spot" still bothered me :( , but at least Harlee got to swim, lol. She really missed it because she kept swimming back and forth. Usually she swim one way and back then out but not today she missed and was enjoying it. I think the "spot" is a twisted muscle caused from Amy yanking the leash. She is so strong now and is more than half my weight so I have a hard time controlling her, the Moose, lol. It was 730 when I got back, so I went str8 outside and finished putting Preen mulch around everything ^_^. Now all I have to do is water and pick veggies from now on. But come Fall everything is getting dug up and moved!!! After seeing how everything does I have a better idea of where it should go now, instead of here and there, lol. When I was close to finishing, Doug came out to check on me and told me "Honey, it's 97 now, time for you to come in" Had my snack, now time to get some more sewing done.........Hope you Ladies have a good day.........
Cindy, hope it isn't anything serious with your back. Will be praying for you.
Cindy, get a chain collar. I think they are called a choke chain? That is what our vet told us to use for Blackie, because he is so strong. We only used it for a few days, till he learned that when I pulled on the leash, that meant stop or slow down.
Hope you find an easy treatment for your back!
When I took Pokie to obedience school they had us use a choke chain collar. They taught us to just give a sharp tug on the collar. Not to really choke them. Worked, too.
Afternoon ladies. Another hot, horrible day here. Plenty of thunder and rain all around us but no, we just don't seem to get the much needed liquid. Someone please send us some.
Been busy helping Kim prepare kits for VBS on Friday. She will be doing 3 classes .One will be pictures of her trips to Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Spain. The other two will be art projects. They will be making worry dolls and bark painting. The theme is see the world and she has been asked by a friend to do Spanish speaking countries. What a challenge finding the old fashioned peg clothespins!!! We finely found some at Hobby Lobby (I resent shopping there but that is strictly my opinion) but alas they were the only ones that had some.
Slowly getting my house back in order after all the traveling over the past 4+ years.
Pegi, that is perfectly normal hearing Darwin. After all this time there still are times I hear Ross calling me. Now is is comforting but boy not for a while.
Take care everyone...need to go check on dinner.
Cindy hope your back gets better.
Marion yuk on the weather. humidity sucks
Lucy and I failed Puppy Obedience school. Three times. I ended up pushing her in the cart at PetSmart , while the other puppies walked with their owners. Lucy was to scared. So i pushed her in the cart. LOL . it was either that or drag her LOL .
Yeah we did the cart thing too with our hors...uh dog Molly.
Cindy, you might have pulled a muscle. some Ibuprofen will help. Do be careful with that back.
Thank God Kel's much stronger than Hambone! He learns fast.. Hambone that is!! Lol!!
I could never handle that ox... horse.. dog. Hambone doesn't leave the area.
Too funny Sue. Never knew of a dog that flunked obedience school 3 times!
The kids will be in for a rare treat Marion. Kim will inspire the kids to see the world!
It's been a rough day today. Morning errands didn't go well. The only relief was a great discount for lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Then the afternoon seems jinxed.
But once Kel left for work, my heart and home return to normal.
Will take a painkiller tonight, don't want to struggle the next day.
LK.. please try not to be too physical tomorrow! Sometimes sewing can aggravate your rotator cuff.
Sleep well everyone.
Actually, getting a "nose-halter" or "face-halter" for your dog is the best way to slow your dog down, and the gentlest way to get your dog to slow down while walking.
It does not go around your dog's neck or throat, it just goes around your dog's upper nose & behind his ears.
It's safe and non painful for the dogs.
Hugs to all.
Morning everyone! Jaye, sorry you did not have a good day yesterday!
Coffee is ready!
Morning LK. Supposedly due the storms up north, the south will have some numbers shaved off their temps! It's just tolerable 88 here and hope it goes down a tad more. So, you might not see high 90s today
That's certainly new info to me, Christina. But then, through the years of rescuing dogs back in Louisiana (13), I have never had any problems in walking any. But I'll keep your suggestion in mind.. for as long as we're living, I know Hambone won't be our only rescue here in NC.
Have a great Tuesday everyone
I sure hope that is true Jaye, but it looks like that storm won't be coming this way. We are supposed to hit 100 today, and by Thursday it is supposed to be 104!
Get your puffer ready, LK. Hope the new one is working for you.
We got some rain!
New puffer is working pretty good!
Glad you got some rain Marion!
we got three drops of rain, at least I think it was rain?
Actually Kathy, that was me throwing water out the back door in your direction. :-)
Lol!!
thanks, next time throw more
Gettin' ready to throw out the wash water now. Watch for it.
We'll where is it?
I'd welcome that wash water Marion. Talk about rain on TV, but never see any. Some places must be getting what is meant for us.
Picture of spaghetti squash son brought me from his girlfriend's. Said it wasn't the biggest one either. Squash with a German tomato. He said to tell you it was a black cherry tomato, but I knew you wouldn't believe that. Going to enjoy fresh veggies.
Black cherry tomato eh? Tell your son I have an ocean view bungalow in Arizona!!
Lolol!!!!! Sis Kathy don't you feel the sprinkles I sent your way?
I'm sewing... sewing.. don't like embroidery work, but I had to include the kid's name..
God help my eyes!
Jaye, there is such a thing as a black cherry tomato.

Looks like your son has a green thumb Pegi. I have never had spaghetti squash.
That size, LK? He may be the Gods of Green thumbs!! Thanks for the link.
I love all kinds of squash summer and winter. Having some on the grill tonight. Check tomatoes every day, but this cool weather isn't helping any.

If you're closeby, Karen, I'd share my 'bounty' with you. My church sister surprised me with about 5 pounds of herloom tomatoes and blueberries. She apologized for not growing any cucumbers this year... as though I'd get upset!!
Kel asked what I'll do with them. Eat of course. duh.
I love spaghetti squash but I don't see them very often in the market here. Sad!! Had some of the dark tomatoes and I am not overly fond of the flavor....could be just me.
Kathy, I threw, no idea what you didn't get it.
Wonderful treat tonight...Kim is in the kitchen. Stuffed turkey burgers, corn salad and I am not sure what else. She is stuffing the burgers with spinach and feta cheese....new recipe from a diabetics cookbook she wanted to try. Who am I to say no as long as she is cooking. :-)
It Rained!!! For a whole ten minutes
Son bought me a soil tester a few years ago and he made sure his soil was right and then he gave them miracle grow. They do have one huge black cherry tomato plant and he brought some home for me. I didn't care much for the flavor. Rather tart. With all the sun we have you would think my tomatoes would all ripen by now. LK spaghetti squash is good. You pull the meat out in long strings like spaghetti. I like mine with butter and lemon. Can use it instead of pasta but never have tried it that way Really hard to slice it in half the long way. Scoop out the seeds, etc. put in a covered dish with a little water in microwave for about 7-9 minutes. Comes out perfect. Of course, save all the seeds because I've never seen any seeds in the stores.
Sounds good!
Marion, how did the dinner come out?
Dinner was fantastic! I loved the stuffed turkey burgers..definitely a recipe we will do again. Of course we both love spinach so that made it even better.
Cloudy and cooler this morning. Don't know what the day has in store weather wise yet.
A pleasant day today. It is suppose to get to a record breaking 50's by daybreak tomorrow. We are suppose to get the much needed rain I've been praying for this weekend.
By the way, good morning everyone. Iced Coffee?
Got a memorial card for masses & prayers for Darwin from his sister. No return address, but I did recognize her writing. She had sent one when my son passed by didn't sign it, again I recognized her writing. Have no idea why we didn't learn about her husband passing. She does talk to my oldest step-daughter once in a while, wonder why she didn't pass the info to us. Can't worry about that. Got papers to sign before anything else is done. I hate signing my name to a lot of mumble jumbo legal stuff, never know what I'm getting myself in to. Waiting for a call so I can ask some questions. I want to get this back in the mail so all this can be over.
Still going to check one more place for my manual for shampooer. If all else fails I may have to rent a machine.
Stopped into a store I've been saying "one of these days" for years. Today was the day.
Jaye if I'm ever going to get the chance to see you in person, first I'm going back to that store and buy a sign I saw. It says Kelvan's Room, I know the spelling is a bit off but couldn't believe how close it is. I didn't get it today only because it's metal and very heavy, no way I could mail it.
