Room 289 at the Sweet Interruptions Hotel.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good morning everyone!!! I wasn't away for months this time, just weeks lol!!!

Glad to see you on here Christina, I'm Christine, or Crissy, whichever. I used to be on all the time but with this 'new' job I'm not on hardly at all. I don't like this job that much, I have to work every day, even when I'm off, it's think about your next trip, think about what you're going to say constantly, stress about the people who don't sign up, argh I just want a normal 9-5 Mon-Fri job. Oh well, Joel was forced to quit his job so we're down to my paychecks again. I thought this would end when I got divorced! Oh well, such as life.
So I'm going to build a new bed in my backyard for iris and what-not. I need to figure out how to get pics on here from my cell phone, my backyard is big enough to put a medium size swimming pool in and it's all grass except for two small flower beds. One has my iris in it, that need to be moved, and the other has a couple mature pink knockoff rose bushes. I have 3 pink Crepe Myrtle bushes along the fence. The woman who lived here before must have loved pink, everything is pink!
Prayers going out to everyone!! I'll be back as soon as I can!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Marion, sounds like your keeping out of trouble in the house with clean up aand remodeling. Don't work too hard!

Crissy, always nice to see you pop in! Sounds like your working too hard! Sure hope Joel finds another job soon!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sorry I lost 2 days here! My back wasn't too happy with the weeding and nausea decided to show itself, telling me that's what I get for running out of bp meds!

Christina, I hope the bad weather didn't visit you. Isn't it the hurricane season too? Thought I would miss that when I moved away from the Gulf, but we get that here too :(

No humane society here, Marion so we see more kill shelters. The vet that we love, on his own, tried his very best to bring to light those that are worthy of second chances, but he's all alone on thi

Have you decided what to do for Tom's mum yet, Sue?

Pegi, I am not a fan of Big Bro, but the cooking shows on Food Network... they are truly devils in disguise. They tempt me to forget that I'm diabetic! lol

Hey there Crissy! Sorry that you are going through another round of unwelcomed job hunting. May Joel find something soon, for you sure deserve good breaks.

Yep LK. To think that I can finally see some clear paths and few unobstructed daylilies, here I am, with such back pain, that I have to turn to strong painkillers like Tremedol? (SP). Five ibuprofen works but that's risking memory loss!! Good thing that I just purchase a memory foam bed topper, if not the aggravation is worse!

It's the start of the Muslim fasting month. Happiness is I don't fast anymore, Jesus doesn't require that! We started fasting at 6 years old.. no food from sunrise to sundown.. and that's not easy when you live in a tropical country. Schools don't have fans nor ac and most of the 30 days, kids will be too sleepy to pay attention in classes.
Muslims are required to do this to remember the poor, the orphans, and to try to attain peaceful thoughts and yes, no sexual activities.
My sister Zi, the one living in France is supposed to return to Singapore next month, but she changed her mind when I reminded her it's the Ramadhan!! Lol!
Of course, she's not about to be 'persuaded' to fast as well.
Some Islamic countries, imprison Muslims who don't fast, unless they're infirmed or on their menstrual cycle.
Okay.. Islam 101 over!

Waving to Barb,..Sis Kathy... Cookie..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, you should know better than to run out of blood pressure pills! Hope tor feeling better now?
Thanks for the Islam 101! I had know idea!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Went to the doctor today, and my BP was high. Increased what I was taking and told me to monitor myself. He understands the stress I'm going through so now will be on 40 mg. of Prozac a day. I'm so upset with the feeling Darwin and I are on different planets so he said I should go directly to the hospice doctor and let her know my feelings. Surely they have something that wouldn't make him think the house if falling down around us or seeing our son standing in the same room as we are or even talking to our son who passed away. Had a chest x-ray because I have this darn dry cough all the time. I have to go back on the 23rd of Sept. Said if I need to see him earlier I should call by 7 AM and I can see him the same day. Just get the call in before everyone else does.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I love all the teaching that you all give to me. So many things I've learned over the last few years. And I thank you!!!!
Jaye, hope you are feeling better.
Sounds like things are moving a bit faster for you now Marion. Hope that is a good thing!!! LOL
Wishing good luck to Joel. Enjoy St Louis Crissy.
Off to do my breathing machine........
Edited to add more prayers for Pegi and Darwin....

AbbisGranma,... It's ok, I like the storms with the rain, (need rain when it's this hot out. But the daytime lightning has been hitting things often around the house). Electric keeps blinking-off 7 times per storm. My computer and fridge are going to take a cwap if the lightning doesn't chill-out.

Yes hurricane season is here. And no one ever showed me how to put-up the metal shutters onto my windows. Will have to look it up online some where.

Pegi, ... I sure hope things get better for you soon. Ever thought of taking Tai Chi or Yoga? Am worried about you.

Barb, ... Hope you are doing well, Hugs.

Here are photos of when it was raining. I tried to photograph the raindrops, hitting my pavement, on my driveway, (I could have done better with a smaller lense with the flash on).

And the last photo is of an "Ibis Bird" family standing on the wires near my house, around 6:45am, (how do they not get electrocuted)?

Ohhhhh, Taynors! I hope you feel better soon, many hugs to you!!

Pegi sending you love and hugs.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sue hang in there lady!! This too shall pass....in due course of time.

Pegi, good for your doctor giving you the Prozac.....I was put on Effexor when Ross was diagnosed and was kept on it due the coming and goings with mom and lastly my sister. Seeing your late son isn't all that unusual from I was told. It can be upsetting to those around thought. Remember when Ross was having a conversation with his late mom, dad and brother. Thankfully a nurse at Hospice was there and explained it to us so we could understand. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Christina, I hated those afternoon lightening spells when I was growing up in south Florida....still do for that matter.

Jaye, aren't those memory foam toppers the bestest ever? I don't know how I ever slept without having mine. I finally put one on the bed I sleep on when I at Sue's house....otherwise it is like sleeping on a concrete slab!!! Nope not for this lady.

Barb, things go quickly for a while then we hit another obstacle. Now I have to wait until the carpenter can install the new cabinet for the oven to finish off the kitchen. Oh and dry wall the area above the stove so the new backsplash installed. In the meantime I continue sorting and cleaning my collection of assorted "plunder" into "keeper" and "not keeper" piles.

Stay well everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, sorry your going through the PMS so hard! Hang in there, but don't eat too much of those sweets!

Pegi, glad to hear you went to the Dr. Take your meds as the Dr. says to. When my Dad was having his strokes, he told us all that Grandpa came to visit. Grandpa had been gone for years, but he still swears he was there.

FU, United States(Zone 9b)

Oh my God, I am getting so depressed, reading the stuff on here. I hope that those who are going through a very hard & sad time will soon find some solace and happiness! I am so sorry you are going through all of that!!

I don't have what you call family, they are called vultures. ...
They only pay attention to you if you have lots of money they could get from you, or can get favors from you, otherwise they ignore you completely.
They put no 'Human Life' over money or using/conning people.
They don't value people in their life, they value trying to get what they can from people.
They are nasty, fake and conning, .. and I refused to ever be that way.

Anyway, ....To those who have real family are so blessed beyond words.
May those of you who are putting up with alot struggles, stress and heartache, may things get better for you soon. You all deserve it so much!

I may not be able to bring much laughter, necessity or happiness to others, but I do try to bring, sometimes, smiles/happiness through my photos.

Sincere Hugs to you all.

I wrote a novel and it all went poof!!!!
The gist of it is.
Christina, you are very much needed here, I do hope you know by now that all are free to say anything to their hearts' content, be it to share some laughter or just to unload. This is a wonderful group of sistahs who will offer you their shoulders and what's discussed won't go further than this room, and yes, many here have wonderful faith.
If you need to do some travelling, take a trip to Lake Martin, in St. Martinville, La. There you'd find pink Ibis. The lake is also a sanctuary to nutrias and gators. When I was living in Breaux Bridge, a town in that parish, I'd bring out of town friends there. Such a sight to see when you see this huge swath of pink plumes flying above cypress trees.

As for the storm..it's supposed to be here on Thursday :(

Family>>> I have none, biological, living here. Kel, my DH, has vultures too, poor man still allows his heart to be abused by MIL.
Thank God for my sistahs here, if not, I'm forever cursed to live a life of a recluse.

Pegi, I am glad that you're given Prozac. Expect more strange episodes from Darwin. As Marion had pointed out, it's part of the illness and morphine.
Don't be proud to ask for more relief, for your sanity's sake.

Sue, Crissy's new beau is Joel. I so feel you Sistah! Watch that sugar, it will just make you more depress when they land on your hips!! At least you're not spending money. If I had known now about the evils of menopause, I'd have a nice balance in savings acct.!

Marion, this is our second topper. Since Kel's such a heavyweight, the first one last for three years. Still much more cheaper than a new mattress!
Good luck on your little renovation, may the carpenter makes no boo boos.

Glad to help out Barb! I too learn so much from the rest here. Meds.. recipes... meds.. Lol!!

It's the first of July and we have gone through half of the year. Kel had on his FB page yesterday, a Christmas picture and I can't believe this man who never puts up any such tree in this house, is looking forward to it! Who is he trying to impress?

Anyway, going to bed now.. and yes Christina, angels come in many forms. You'll find the sistahs here are all angels including you :)

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Christina - I LOVE your post. It is true that you may come here and say anything at all and know that it stays here. We take in each others words and glean from them what we need. We know we can laugh, cry and bitch to our hearts content and it is okay to do so. We truly care about each other and what is happening in their lives. We welcome you with open arms.........

good morning
eggs, topped with mushrooms and zuccinni along with wheat toasty and my homemade jam
eat girls
java is on the way
ok yes i too know what its like to have no family around :( Without my sistah's and some dear friends here in Ohio. i would be a recluse also. Its not fun.
but i make the best of it.
Lucy helps too
welp i m off to the gym. hard to go back when you have 3 days off
hope the hormones don't kick in

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Thanks for breakfast Sue!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh yum!! Sue! Get down here and make me that in person!!

Christina! Your photos are totally amazing! Don't you dare stop posting them!!

Have another G/C planning meeting this morning for daytime club. It's a beautiful day here with the most awesome breeze. Wish I could share it with you all.

Remember I was in the hosta swap here on DG? I got my hostas yesterday. Great, wonderful box!

Thumbnail by joycet Thumbnail by joycet
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a lot of hosta's! Where ya gonna plant them!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I had to go back and read some posts I missed. I do hate to get behind. LoveForrests your photos are truly beautiful. Wish I could take such great photos. Yes, keep posting them, they make me feel good. Your house is beautiful, had to put a new roof on the house 3 years ago and that cost a fortune. Need some work done inside the house, Darwin started things then never got back to them so I may have to learn how to do things myself.

Sue, I should have you hear cooking for me, those eggs, mushroom & zucchini sound so good. I can almost taste them. I've tried Jaye's Dunkin Donuts coffee and am enjoying a cup now. I was given estrogen for hot flashes back then, but my doctor took me off it years ago. At my age, you would think there would be no more hot flashes, but have news for you they still come and go. I don't get any answers from my doctor, just it must be hormones. I know they can just about drive you crazy, hot flashes.

While I wait on call from doctor I will begin to focus on getting rid of some things.

Waiting to hear from hospice doctor. I hope they find something that doesn't cause all the hallucinations. There doesn't seem to be a break from them. Nurse told me some people don't have this problem, but older people it affects more. Sometimes I wish I could see my mom and son so I could give them hugs and kisses. All is quiet now. I have a book here somewhere about Tai Chi, always thought that would be so calming.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Peggy I sure hope you can find some different meds for Darwin that will help him and help you relax.

hoping you get some different meds Peggy. Sending you love and hugs
well i have been researching medical insurance ... very frusterating !!!!
finaly one gal said i may qualify for medicaid.... lets hope so.
once bills are paid only 100.00 left over.
I spend 400 on fuel alone per month and thats if i don't go anywhere special.
food is 500 month that is half of my child support payment just to go to food.
oh and also. Savannah found out Tom and i are more then friends ...... i wanted to wait a bit but she heard us kissing ??? oh well. she seems more upset that i didn't tell her . She seems to like Tom but said he has a big nose and is girly girly ?? LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue it won't hurt to try to get on medicaid.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Money seems to be all our problems, big or small. The doctor is prescribing pain patches and I probably can pick them up later on this evening. Will call pharmacy to make sure they are ready. I hope this helps our situation. I'll have to google them and get some answers.

Was another warm day, and got nothing accomplished. At least Darwin is very quiet, but have to get the vacuum cleaner out as the nurse is coming tomorrow.

My sister said she might be able to get away one day next week and we can go somewhere for a couple hours and son can keep an eye on Darwin. She is so concerned, but lives so far away. She has more energy than I have and so many medical problems. Knee replacement surgery for Aug. and also has to have the other one done. Her job as Highway Patrol has caused a lot of her problems, but she did love that job.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Waving Barb!! Oh we all had shared some wondrous moments and the not so joyous ones too. And like a family, we have always been there for each other!

Cookie, that's a lot of hostas! I wish I could join the swap but most of the tags to my hostas are gone and moreover, it takes an act of congress for Kel to do any digging!

LK, do you have any hostas in your yard? Surprisingly, I have a couple that grow in full sun, but of course not as robust as the ones in the shade.

Sue, I hope you can get help, especially with growing kids. You don't say much about Bailey, I guess he fits in well and behaving?

Pegi, may you have that opportunity to spend some time with your sister. I am envious of those that have siblings living nearby.. not the vulture sort of course.
Tai Chi is a very gentle and graceful exercise. It has a series of movements when performed, seems like a dance. Back home, the old folks will gather at parks at the break of dawn. So beautiful to watch them exercise in unison.

My back is top priority now, so not much yard work. Tried to read, but eyes got tired too fast. Supposed to pick up my glasses tomorrow! I'll be able to see!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

At home, spent the day at the hospital wit Great GS. Over the weekend he has had flu symptoms, would get better during the day and worse at night. Finally yesterday morning I took him to the urgent care that is affiliated with the hospital but much closer. They agreed it was most likely a bug and gave him something for the nausea. They did do a blood draw and said I should hear on it in about three hours. First thing this morning they called and said take him to ER ASAP. So off we went. Turns out after moire tests and scans that his appendix had burst. However a sac had formed containing all the infection and surgery would only put him in danger. They have him on IV antibiotics and will monitor him overnight, he possibly will be released tomorrow afternoon. The surgery? It can wait a week or two as long as he doesn't show signs of infections. Payton at the moment is only suffering from sensory overload as he has the TV and a WII game going at the same time.
He wanted me to stay, but I told him I was exhausted and he wouldn't even know I was gone. I wrote down my number for him and said he could call when ever he wanted. This was NOT supposed to happen on my watch!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Awwwww... prayers just said, for the antibiotics to work for Payton. Walt started it all!!
Rest well Karen.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers fr your grandson Karen!

Jaye, no hosta's here! I don't know if they like this Texas heat or not. Never tried them!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers this morning for Peyton. Please, Dear Lord, watch over this little one......

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Prayers continue for Darwin and Payton and for Sis Kathy to be safe.

Good morning sistahs. Another day of perfect calm before the storm. Yes, tropical storm suppose to make its way up here, and 80 mph winds expected, haven't followed its course this morning and I pray it will dissipate before it gets to Myrtle Beach. Last night, another news channel predicted it will hit Wilmington, if that's so, we're further away from Wilmington, so that will be quite a relief. Anyway, let's hope that it is just a storm and doesn't form into anything threatening.

LK, hostas don't quite like heat. They grow in Louisiana, but our heat there isn't as bad as yours. Perhaps the shade around your house will be perfect if you wanted to try. They are pretty when lush and full, and their flower scapes are so elegant.

Pray for courage for me sistahs. I have been hesitating to cut up some fabrics for a little girl's quilt. No kiddy stuffs, want to use something that she can one day, still take it out and use as a throw. So, I've been pulling out floral Asian fabrics as her maternal grandfather's Cambodian. BUT. there's my fabric obsession to overcome... I can't seem to use a rotary cutter!!!
Any of my sistahs have this problem?? Barb.. Marion.. LK?

And then I am thinking of using an Asian print jelly roll, and maybe that won't be too painful!! But no.. still gripped by the thought it's too pretty to cut! Oh well, guess I'll toss a coin and see who lost!

Lord bless all my sistahs here, and have a fantastic Wednesday everyone.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Going to have a day with Lisa, my DD. I'm so excited this is the first time since she started working at the school that we get a day to just be together and love! I'm doing the happy dance! (It looks a whole lot like the peepee dance!! ;)

Hooray for you Cookie. a wonderful day ahead with DD. have fun
Jaye no idea on the rotary sorry :( . we decided another dog would not be a good idea at moment . so she found another home.
Praying for Peyton , good grief what a scare !
Marion yeah think i m going to try the Medicaid first. But BCBS was 200.00 monthly so if i don' t qualify for Medicaid. Its not that bad a price BCBS.
just hope i can get qualified by Aug. ?
Pegi hope the patches do the trick . Have fun with your sister. Sorry to hear of her knee's.
looking forward to spending the weekend with Tom. We are going canoeing on friday
i will be at his place sat . Cookie you free sat ?
off and running for hair cuts and a walmart return

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I have done that so many times. Bought some pretty fabric and just could not cut it. But I eventually did, and I loved the outcome!

Prayers for my Grandson Dylan please? He was taken to the ER lat night for the return of his c-dif. Poor thing has had diarrhea all day yesterday, and refused to eat or drink anything. So they gave him IV fluids, and sent him home, Was told to follow up with his pediatrician today! Last time he had this he spent 5 days in the hospital!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers for Dylan LK. What is going on? first Payton and now Dylan???? Dear Lord, please keep these boys in Your care......
Adding prayers for Darwin too!!!!
Does Tim have to keep health insurance going for the kids Sue?
Have fun Cookie!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Afternoon ladies. Prayers being offered for all those who are sick and in need.

Busy still cleaning out and sorting things. It is absolutely unbelievable the amount of junk and things the 2 of us have collected over the years. Some going but items from our travels will stay!

Just when I thought the issue of the kitchen was being solved.....another disaster happened. The cabinet we ordered came in yesterday...by an 18 wheeler!! There is absolutely no way an 18 wheeler can come into this development. Driver called me from the nearest truck stop telling me I needed to come pick the cabinet up. Me with no help other than Kim and no truck...Charles is on vacation. He did suggest I come look at it as he thought it was damaged. He was absolutely right....badly damaged!!It had a gouge about 8" long and 1/2 " wide, front of drawer was chipped and caved in....I refused so back it went. The company called today and will be sending me another one on Monday. Please wish me luck that this one will be okay as I am so tired of having no oven and a constant mess in the kitchen.

Going to Gainesville for the 4th to help celebrate a dear friend's mothers 97 birthday. Will be good to visit with everyone for a while but alas we will need to return that evening. Taking care of Charlie's lab and that dog does love his food!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry your cabinet arrived damaged, but the next one will arrive the same way? On a semi truck? Better tell them it needs to be in a smaller truck!
Enjoy your 4th celebrations!

Dylan is not in the hospital. All test came back and it is not C-dif. Just a bad tummy virus he got somewhere. They are pumping pedialyte into him.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Prayers for the little ones. So hard to see them in pain. Darwin had his bath this morning, but now has this pain in his neck. I think he was laying wrong and now he won't let us move him. We finally did manage to change his sheet and I know he is more comfortable. She called the nurse and she said she would stop by and see what is going on. This is one of the bathers I really like, would like to keep her as my daughter. LOL I had to give him a pain pill. Almost time for another one. He wanted me to untie his shoes and take them off. No shoes and no socks. I'm hoping this weird stuff he is doing will stop soon. I'm going to call his daughters tonight and tell them he isn't doing well. It is up to them if they want to drive so far right now.

Hard to believe half the year is over. Was hoping to get my yard in shape, but other things get in the way. Just trying to stick to one job at a time is difficult for me. I get sidetracked so easy. I was doing this long before Darwin go so sick so can't blame my situation right now as the cause. Slowly I will get things done.

prayers to Darwin, Dylan and Peyton
Marion wow that is a bummer on the cabinets . Can't believe they were damaged that bad. Good thing they are sending you new ones. good luck. Have fun in Gainsville . :)
Barb yes Tim will pay for the kids medical insurance with his work .
Lucy is her usualy dog self. She has a new vet and boy is he cute !!! no wedding ring either .... hmmmmm i think Lucy has a bad ear infection LOL
Heading up to Cookies neighborhood this weekend. Visiting a friend in Hamilton.
ummm what else
welp i m digging up daylillies like crazy.... i have no idea how so many Stellas got in my garden ????? i hate them... LOL im not a yellow person.
critters are eating all of my other daylillies but not the stellas ? !!! of course. Stupid deer eat my expensive pretty pink daylillies but leave the ugly yellow stellas for me to gaze upon grrrrr
other then that not much else

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Think I'll be around on Saturday, Sue. Will I see you?

Glad little Dylan doesn't have c diff. Nasty stuff, that! Prayers for Payton, too.
