RM: 288 of the "Sweet Interruptions Hotel"

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Wow, Christina, those photos are awesome! You could certainly sell them!

I'm a born and raised Ohio girl, and I don't think I could do Florida full time. I could definitely be a snow bird though!

I helped Sherry in her garden getting plants in the ground. I got there just before 10 and didn't get home until 7. However, her new sun garden looks amazing. She has been collecting plants and putting them in a temporary bed, so she dug them up and I dug the new holes and decided where they would go. If she sends me pictures soon, I'll share them. It will take a few days for them to settle in. The butterfly bush was especially unhappy with the move!

Today is a planning committee meeting for garden club. We're doing the programs for next year. Hope we can come up with some awesome things, and in a hurry. This is my first time with this particular club and they have a reputation for taking 3 or 4 times to get 12 programs. The other club I'm in got it done in 2 hours. Hope I can speed things along today!

We had a heck of a storm last night. Lots of wind. Lots of overturned pots and stands. :o( I'm not happy today!

SUE!!!! That's JUST what you need right now! You crazy woman!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Had a good slow steady rain yesterday. The kind that does some good rather than coming heavy and washing everything away. Did manage to get some sticks and limbs that had fallen from the day before cleaned up. My little Blue Mouse Ear Hostas said "thank you". Slowly but surely things are beginning to come together. Of course it didn't happen over night so it isn't going to improve over night.

Another set back in the on going kitchen saga. The electrician came to install the new stove hood only to discover when the old microwave was removed, I had a huge hole in the wall. Apparently the previous owner in an attempt to be a "handyman" cut out all the drywall that would be covered by the microwave leaving only the studs exposed. He bolted the support panel for the microwave directly to the studs, connected the microwave leaving all the empty space. Now I have to have the area dry walled before we can go any further. Oh well, it could have been worse...onward and upward.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ahhh Marion the joy you find when trying to make a simple repair. That's one good thing here, hubby finished this place after shell was put up, No surprises for us.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh, meant to say, have safe travels, Kathy. I know you are going to have so much fun! I know you're excited to get your babies back home with you, too.

Marion, hang in there, girlfriend! It will all come together, but there will always be "something". You know that by now!!!!

back from the gym...gonna go die.....bbl

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cookie, you sure stay busy with he garden clubs! Wish we had one here.

Marion, I hope the hole in the wall is an easy fix!

Julie has the interest tread open for a fairy/miniature garden swap open.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

You just wonder what goes through some people's heads when doing work in the house. Can't imagine why he cut the dry wall away. I hope it is an easy fix. We ran into odd fixes in our house too. Instead of finding out how to do a job right they just did it in a "mickey mouse" way and just made extra work.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Pegi, how is Darwin and yourself doing today?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Christina! Thank you for the hugs!! Love your pictures.
The bottom shelves aren't too bad for me, as I'm built low to the ground... but still.. have to watch my back. As for the top shelves.. forget about it!! I'll wait on my six foot four DH. He's handy that way!

Marion, that should be an inexpensive fix. Sorry that you're uncovering some 'lazy' works of the previous owner.
We don't intend to ever sell this place, so Kel's safe with his secrets! Lol!
I pray that there will be no interruptions this time to get your lens implant checked.. one more day.. and that the bubble's no longer there!

Sue, hope Lucy won't be jealous! Dogs are very social creatures, she might enjoy a new buddy.

Cookie, you're one amazing gardener! Maybe there will be a plant stand in the near future?

Have a safe trip Kathy! Don't give in to temptations, we want your stomach well too!

Did find a very affordable eye center. It's Walmart's Vision Center. Never thought of it until yesterday when I let my fingers do the walking. Set up an appt. for Friday.
Eye exam is around 80 and bifocals 60. Have a window of 250 set aside, much more affordable than double that, the old eye place would have charged me!
But, yes, we spent a whole afternoon at Myrtle Beach. Did I remember to use a hat?? Nope! The sun again gave me headaches and stomach cramps! Just have to get a spare hat and leave it in the truck.

Steady rain here too. Plants are dancing in it!!! The heat's a bearable 80. Wish it's the same for you LK. We'll take the heat, and not the Tsunami!

Got a prayer request. My ex has a bad clot in his leg. The doctors said it isn't bad enough for surgery, so treating it with meds.
He called me up, wanting prayers. Please pray that the meds will work. Thanks sistahs.

Perfect day to sort clothes. Got to get rid of those when I was a size 12!!! Lolol!! Difficult process as they gave me so much good memories..
BUT, it got to be done to make room for more fabric mind you, not new clothes!!
Yep... I have a room just for sewing, and shelves built to accomodate my fabric hoarding!
Unfortunately, ran out of space for 2014 fabrics and all those precut pieces on sale on eBay!

Waving to Barb... Pegi....
have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sorry Karen... meant to ask you, did the agent explained why he didn't show up? I'd be watching my reputation if I were him, especially living in your area.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dad is still in the hospital. He keeps complaining of chest pains and lower tummy pain. They have done all kinds of blood work and scans. His white blood cell count is s till high, maybe because of his infected toes. They found small amounts of blood in a stool sample. But he was told if he has an ulcer or internal bleeding, he can not be operated on as he is too frail, and most likely won't survive. He will most likely be sent back to the nursing home today, or tomorrow, and we will just keep him in our prayers!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

((((((((((((LK))))))))))))) I will definitely keep him in my prayers.
You did the best you can for your dad when he's in your care. The Lord will do what's best for him.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Jaye.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Jaye, wasn't our agent and he didn't know about it until Monday or so he says. I have no trust in any of them any more. Our agent now says he will come to any showings we have. Told him we could have been called at any time, as it was 7 people and 2 dogs, and 5 people and 1 dog in the other house had to leave for an hour and it was all totally unnecessary.

FU, United States(Zone 9b)

Prayers to LK's Dad and HeavenScapes Ex. You are all in my thoughts! Be strong.

Siliolegma...I hear ya. My shoulders and lower back are sore as heck today because of lifting and carrying Grocery bags filled with food, lol. Then went out carrying jugs of water to water the plants.

I get the yard sprayed for Fire Ants, but all the other tiny ants come crawling out of my rock-beds by the thousands after a good rain.
I once put my hand down on the ground as I was kneeling, and I look over at my arm and hundreds of them were crawling on my arm, I freaked and shook my arm several times. Oh the joy of gardening, but still love the gardening part.
Once had a little gecko run up my foot and up into my pant-leg I screeched out loud and shook my leg a few times and he came flying up and out into the air LOL.
I always seem to make a fool outta myself in my front yard. Can keep my neighbor amused or scare them, one or the other.
Another time a yellow jumping spider decided to jump from my Hibiscus leaf onto my shirt, I screamed AAAAaaaaa! and jumped up and down and flicked him with my hand to get him off my shirt. Geesh, I think the critters need to give me a break! Yeah, I think my neighbors are probably scared of me by now, lol.

LoL Taynors, don't die at the gymn!
I once told a Petshop owner that I was bored (have no family around) so was thinking of taking Martial Arts lessons, but said I would need to get in better shape before going there, or I would die there.

No rain for the next 4 days and temps will be about 93-94 degrees, but here is a photo of a tiny rainbow with palm leaves, taken from my front yard ....

Sorry Jaye, meant to say sending lots of prayers for your ex!

Christina, don't like bugs that are all of a sudden on me or in your face! I freak out too!

didn't die at gym. but i thought i came close ?
did a big grocery shop day. stocked up on things . hope we can get through the summer a bit better . running out of toilet paper is not a good thing.
storms are on the way again tonight. hopefully austins baseball doesn't get cancelled again.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hello Ladies,

LK so sorry to hear about your Dad, will keep him in my Thoughts and Prayers. Friday was my Mom's birthday so I went to Auburn to take mom out to dinner for her birthday. Stopped and picked up my granddaughter Taylor. We went to the Sierra Grill on Hwy 49. We were seated in a booth that looked out to Hwy 49. I saw a woman putting a yellow flyer on my windshield. I said to Mom and Taylor, "Darn wished I would of hit the panic button on the remote". Weeeelllll a little while later this young kid walks up to my car to stick another flyer on my car but this time he was going to stick in the car door window. Just as he did I hit the panic button and the alarm went off, he yanked the paper out, I turned it off, he stuck it back in, I hit the panic button again, he yanked it back out. We got to laughing so hard. There was a man in the booth behind us and he is just cracking up!!!!!

LK, remember the Sword Bean seeds you sent me? Amy got into them and I was able to save one. Look at it now!!! My veggie flower garden is going crazy! The Frog is sitting in front of a grape Tomato .

Oh Cindy that is hilarious. Your garden looks wonderful, can't wait until mine gets going good too.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Which picture is the sword bean? Your gardens are so pretty!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

What a chatty bunch today. Kim and I went out shopping for some tile to cover the area where the microwave was....will have done after the hole is repaired. Jaye, you are right, it really is a small hurdle just annoyed to have it happen. Charles has shown me how to patch holes like this and I have done it before so I guess that will be my next job. We were trying to match the tile that was installed 10 years ago rather than having to redo everything. The current tile has been discontinued but we did find some that blends really nicely so we feel lucky about that.

Prayers for your ex Jaye and also for LK's dad.

Need to run and finish dinner...chat later.

Got season 6 of Doc Martin and it is called my name.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

My day wasn't bad, but Darwin managed to get a hold of some phone line with modular tips and got mad cause I tried to take it away from him. He spend a lot of time tying it in knots, I think he needs to keeps his hands busy, but not with the remotes. I keep telling him he is going to ruin the motor for the bed if he doesn't quit playing with it. He then told me next time I want to go somewhere he will just say the motor is broken. He jokes around, then a little while later asked me what bar I was in. He talks about parts we left at the auto parts store and lost $300. He was in another world today. He keeps me going at times. Didn't seem to have any pain today, which is good. Surprised that he has lost interest in most of the TV programs he usually watches. Still doesn't want to eat and that is one big concern for me.

Prayers for your dad LK and Jaye's Ex. Seems to be a lot of drama in everyone's life. Cindy, you have such a green thumb. Such a pretty garden.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers this morning - Darwin, LKs Dad, Jayes Ex and anyone else who needs them. So much going on. Hoping Kathy is doing better too.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pegi, does he like to read or maybe do crossword puzzles? Maybe get him a ball of twine and let him tie away?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm praying for those in need, too.

Good morning!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

The first pic LK, is the Sword Bean Vine

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Seems to be growing very nice!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Think I may have a summer cold. Slept most of the day yesterday, and of course, instead of feeling better, the bones hurt. No sewing done.
Did manage to take a walk through my mini Amazon and marvel at my first apple since Kel saved it 10 years ago. So we really don't need to buy another for cross pollination.. the nursery lady didn't say it would take that long!
Found some mangled expensive beauties, choked by dastardly Carolina Jessamine. That my sistahs is one VERY invasive runner.. climber... and I can't kill them fast enough! They emerge from the surrounding woods and grow as fast as lightning.

Who is that handsome young man, Karen? Is that your DGD that helped you up?
The market looks good for buyers, but not for sellers still around here. Hope you'll get a few bites soon.

Cindy, you are having too much pan with your panic button!! Lol!! Amazing gardener you are, everything is so lush.

Christina, I don't think I want to accompany you in any garden setting!! I have a phobia of spiders!! I like to wear my shirt tucked in my jeans when I'm outside so that nothing can crawl underneath it!
Like you and LK, don't like to be greeted by anything I can't have a convo with!!
I'd like to admire such critters through a zoom lens!!
Thank you for the pick up .. we need rainbows to remind us of what comes after the rains.

Marion, good luck with the tiles. How do you manage to get season 6? I'm just starting to follow Doc Martin, and you know there are some people with his demeanor. I like his character, strangely, yet Kel thinks he's a PIA.

Sue, don't feed Bailey, bailey's please. You still didn't tell us how Lucy is taking to him. Be careful when working out, my sister was told, no more gyms nor zumbas, as she sprained her ankle again. She can't face it that she's now 54 and her bones aren't as strong as they used to be.

Pegi, both FILs' minds were soaked wifh morphine that whatever they said made no sense to the family. First FIL, would mutter in French to me, asking me questions I have no clue as to what the answers should be. Then at times, he'd shake the rails with all his might, screaming "I forgot!! Sorry" That goes on for weeks, I still wonder what crime he had commited that he's trying to explain it then! My late MIL couldn't be left alone with him as she's very frail, and Drozin's grip could break her arm.
As for Murdock, he kept seeing Jesus behind curtains, and telling Ida that he's going fishing without her.
Sending prayers that you are still coping well. It's hard when you're the only caregiver.

thank you so much for the prayers sistahs.

You're right Barb, God never promise us an easy life. There are always curveballs!

What are you making now LK? I know you don't like your hands to be idle, like Barb here!

Have a lovely Wednesday sistahs.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes Jaye, that is the DGS who helped me up, he's the one living here. We just went and picked up more rabbits. Amelia is a riot with them, so excited shes dancing. Good thing the baby bunnies seem to like her as she won't leave them alone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What are you doing with bunnies?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

These are breeders but eventually the next generation with go in the freezer.

FU, United States(Zone 9b)

Purpbutfly,.... LOL!! You are too funny, love it! You made me crack-up for the first time today :]
Your plants, flowers and walkway look fantastic.
I used to have a truck that had a loud alarm system. Last 4th of July, people were shooting off loud fireworks across the road from in an empty field. They would do this until about 2:00am and start at 9:30pm (they would also do that for 3 nights in a row.
One night after 12:00am, every time I heard the many loud firecrackers go off, I would turn on my truck's alarm system, it would stop them and things would go silent for about 15 minutes, but then they would start back up again, so I turned the truck alarm on again, they finally gave up and left.

Awwwe Heavenscape, .... but since critters & insects like to jump on me in the gardens, you could get over your phobias by experiencing the "shock and scream method" by hanging with me, ... you would eventually get over your phobia of them all, maybe ;) LOL!

I'll try to get more rainbow photos in the future here, but they are hard to get exposed well in a photo alot of times.

Here is another rainbow shot from my front yard, and a photo of a very tiny green grasshopper type bug on a leaf....

Thumbnail by LoveForests Thumbnail by LoveForests
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a double rainbow! Very pretty!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Never had raised rabbits but a wild brown one, braised in red wine. It was good though the garlic hid it's wild flavor. Is it true the raised ones taste like chicken Karen?

That's a very lucky shot Christina. We saw a double rainbow once, but no camera in hand.
Christina, you don't want to see me strip if an insect climb up on me! Not a nice sight with all the extra folds!! Lol!!
That reminds me, I have a sister that wears a hijab, living in Dubai. I know there are those long legged insects in the desert kingdom. She's afraid of anything that crawls. I asked her what she'd do if one were to crawl up her voluminous hijab. She said she'd be doomed for caning in public, for she won't hesitate to strip right away!! Touch wood, so far it hasn't happened. She hung around in air conditioned malls!

So much for seeing some civilization in my little Amazon. Fought with the weeds and the weeds won.
I spent at least an hour (15 mins at a time) and still haven't made any headway. Last year I trimmed the weeds with an electric hedge trimmer. Broke that and have to use a pair of loppers.
Fortified myself with "Kickstart" to give me the energy! That drink works!
Now I am all wired up. Think I'll take a shower and veg.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I don't think they taste like chicken and I don't think the wild ones taste any different. They all eat about the same thing. Greens, grains, and grasses. Rabbit is very mild flavored and has a nice texture.(Now that part is like chicken). It's very lean and good for you. It's low cholesterol and all white meat.
Ours go into the freezer while they are young and tender, so they are good fried or on the grill. Our kids are excited we are getting back into raising rabbits, they were raised on it, all love it.

I don't see any dressed rabbits for sale in the markets here, Karen. Not even back in Louisiana.
My family in Singapore said they can get them there, but imported from Malaysia.
One day, I'll just have to come down and try your good cooking!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Girl came to give Darwin a bath, then nurse came and soon after she arrived the case worker came. Had a full house for a while. They keep reminding me that there are many services out there to help me. I need a hair cut and perm but that will have to wait a little while yet. I need short curly wash & wear cut for the hot days ahead. Did walk over to the library and picked up a book by Janet Evonavich, she writes with a flare of humor with a little romance thrown in.

I wish Darwin did like to read, I have a lot of books to keep him busy. He has a hand held monopoly game that he played all the time, but shows no interest in it now. He would be at a loss doing crossword puzzles, I was the one who used to do them all the time.

Two packages came in the mail today. One from Jaye and one from Linda Kay. Will get out my camera and take pictures. OMG what great packages. Thank you girls so much, I am so blessed.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I love Janet Evanovich Pegi!! But I quit reading her as I'm reacquainting myself with Pearl S. Buch and that O'neal Gear collaborations. Drats sistah Judy's fault on that one!!
Glad that you managed to get to the library. May you find more leisure time, just for yourself.
Can't wait to see what LK's up to on your surprise!!

FU, United States(Zone 9b)

HeavenScape, ... Those insects or critters that may jump on me or onto anyone else, only think you are another tree or bush. They were not out to attack or bite me.

I've never been bitten by anything out here, they just 'jumped-on-me' thinking I was another bush.
The only thing I don't like getting on me are wasps and ants.
Tell your Sister in Dubai, to stop worry so much over the insects. She'll be ok :]

A photo of a Blue Heron, scratching his neck ... :]

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pegi, so glad you got your boxes. Can't wait to see what Jaye sent you!

Love that heron scratching!
