She's about to... Almost summer!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

My dog... she is having some kind of fits late at night. Bursting into my room andpanting hard. She woke me up six times last night. So glad I did not have to go to work today. I am going to have to take her to the vet. Again.... Can not figure out what is going on with her.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope it is not anything serious!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

So sorry to hear abt your dog, surely hope it it's nothing. I have never heard of such a problem...

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

You know what??? We have had a squirrel stuck in the basement a couple days. Finally got it out I almost think it was that. It mustve been bothering her and scaring her??? Who knows. But no bursting for a couple nights... yeah

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you got him out of the basement!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Wow I got a chipmunk in the house once in Colorado, what a to do that was. But he didn't spend the night, can't imagine hearing that in the night...LOL

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Chipmunks are pretty fast too. Am glad it was not in the living part of the house. They can be veey distructive

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Wild chipmunks are not nice...lol outside they are cute, just like squirrels.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We had one get in here once. Rory and I had gone downstate for the holidays. When we got back, I moved the pillow on my bed and there was a neat pile of nuts underneath. I checked every bed up there ( 10 of them) and each pillow had a pile of nuts under it. There wasn't a bit of damage though. We found out how he got in, our water pipe from the well was inside a larger pipe, gave him a perfect highway. We sealed that off and no more problems.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Karen that is too funny, but scary thought if you were in bed and he came back...rofl.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My Pride of Barbados finally opened today!

That is an amazingly beautiful plant. You did good taters.
I really want to get one of those going for sure. Did you grow it from seed?
They are not common here but has to be an amazing beautiful plant.
I would probably just sit and admire it all summer...LOL
Would look great in my tropical themed pergola.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

that's beautiful. my bird of paridise opened today

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I bought this one 3 years ago from home depot. The first year it did not bloom! It dies back every year, and so far it has come back!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Am wanting some more daylilies. Maybe I will be looking around at some greenhouses. All colors are welcome at my house! Lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Rona, you might want to give Gilbert Wild & Sons at look. They always have great sales on daylilies, hostas, irises and peonies.

Hey Jean, that link does not work? I Google his name, and came up with this site.
He really has some pretty blooms!

How are you doing?

http://www.gilberthwild.com/IRIS/products/27/

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks LK. I omitted the H in the link....thanks for fixing that. He does have some nice stuff.

I got a collection of the "giant" hostas. They have all thrived and came potted and ready to grow.I have also ordered daylilies and they were all nice large healthy fans.

As for me, hanging in there, a step at a time, a couple small setbacks, but for the most part I am well. Thanks for asking.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

My experience with ordering irises and poppies from there wasn't all that great. This is the 'Queen Alexandra' poppy I received. It actually looks much better in the photo than it did when I received it. it had been shaken out of the pot and all over the box when it arrived and dirt was everywhere. The Iris didn't look much better. I don't know if it will survive or not. Don't think I'll be ordering from there again any time soon.

It is HOT HOT HOT here. I got out first thing early and watered. Then we went to a car show. Luckily there was a great breeze, otherwide we would of melted. Got home about 2 in the afternoon and I have been cooling it ever since. I'll be glad when I can go out. I sure don't want to clean house! lol

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Yeah who would want to clean the house??? Yuck. I did vaccum and sweep the other night. Dog and cat hair gets to me after awhile. Rofl. Would rather be in the yard anyday.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Well I went out and it was too humid and hot, so back inside and I did vacuum and pick up 'stuff', like you said I couldn't sit here and look at it any longer... Guess the heat is good for something..LOL

boiled eggs and gonna make some deviled eggs for later. I have been mixing diced up olives stuffed with jalapenos in the deviled egg filling, sounds weird but we really like it.

Poor little girl here died from that stupid brain eating amoeba! Stupid news caster says it is very rare but your chances increase in the summer.....duhhh who goes swimming in the winter? Do they ever read the script and think about what they are saying.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Yuck happ. Way awful a brain eating ameba? Some polar swimmer around here swim in the winter. But that is funny for them to say. Haha. Poor girl.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Have a really fun day gardenlady at the baby shower!

Really really humid today.

I really don't understand most news stations. They send someone out in the dark to report, can't see anything so what is the point. Then put them in harms way during a storm. Out on icy roads when there is already too much traffic crashing and burning or just stuck.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Saw this horse at McDonald's as we were driving by yesterday! Only in Texas!!!

Oh I really need to whine....I am so tired.
DGD spent the night, and will be here til Friday evening. Altho I love for her to come she grits her teeth in her sleep and I think I got 2 hours sleep MAYBE.... gonna be a really really long day. She is still asleep right now. Course her Mom and Dad have talked to the dentist and doctor and so far 'the experts' say it is not that severe... They should try to sleep with her...

We are going to the park today, there is an old fashioned huge metal slide at our park and a merry go-round (the old kind) she loves it there.

LATER

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

They could be Crinum lilies, a relative of Amaryllis. There are over 100 species and numerous cultivars/hybrids.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

thank you Moon theLeaves did look sorta like an amaryilla but these have a taller neck then an Amaryilla so you may be right ,I Had to cut the leaves off to get them into the box to ship home I Hope i didn't Hurt them .
thank you for sharing info

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You are most welcome Susie. It may take them a season or two before you get blooms, but they are impressive when they bloom. They will probably need to go in a container as they are not very cold hardy. These pics are of one of my Crinum noids.
