NIGHT OWLS ONLY - OPEN: 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. (4th Call)

Well, I got my release to return to work! I start Monday, 4 hours a day. I will work 5 days a week instead of 3 days at 7 hours each, but the 4 hours a day/5 days a week will give me my alotted hours and still be part time. Plus they are going to let me park up near the office in one of the handicapped spaces so I don't have to walk half a block to get there.
I am healing well from surgery and continue with PT. I see the surgeon again May 14th and hope to be completely released at that time. My family Dr put me on Methylprednisolone tablets for 6 days forr my sciatic nerve problem and after one day I feel better and less pain from it. Plus she gave me an RX for Tramadol for pain. I still have some pain in my surgury knee but do not want to take anymore Prococet for it.

My friend is remodeling my bathroom and I hope to get a shower Sunday. Till than I'm washing up in a bucket. I do have to get my hair washed and cut but cutting it will have to wait until I get my check on the 1st. Til than I'll make due.

I worked 4 days last week and on the 5th day I called off with a low grade fever and diarrhia. I guess I just over did it for the week. I'm feeling better now and after spending most of Friday sleeping I now feel rested and awake at 5 am. I have the weekend to make sure I'm rested for work on Monday.

I have about 2 more weeks of PT than I'm done. I see the surgeon on May 14th. Unless he demands more PT.

Got my hair washed and cut and my shower is now fixed, so things are coming along in my trailer. My friends will stay with me thru the summer. He has plans for repairs to the trailer and fence. We are pulling down the fence between my niece and myself and putting up a welded wire fence to keep the dogs in her yard and mine. The old wood fence is falling down and does a poor job of keeping the dogs in.

Found a new candy. Brookside's Dark Chocolate with Pomegranate flavor center. Realy good!! I will have to check out others they have.

I guess I'm the only one up at night anymore.
I'm setting here, eating Girl Scout Cookies and looking for someone to chat with.

My surgeon released me from PT and says I have healed well in 2.5 months and have done great in rehabing the new knee. .

I was up, Mary, but watching tv. We're moving on the 30th, and I was wired.......Place looks cavernous.........

Here I am again. Wide awake at 3:20 am. I did a little yard work Saturday. Trimmed a couple of trees that are growing over the fence from the neigbors. Slowly, I am getting back into doing things for myself. I have to take frequent rest breaks, but that's ok, I just like getting out in the yard and doing what I can.

Went for a walk on a nature trail today and did alright, just very tired after the walk. Came home and took a nap.

I have a job interview at 9 am today. Keep me in your prayers that I get it. I need the money. I have three boxes of iris to mail out to friends.

I work for a organization called Experience Works. They help people 55 and older to get back into the work force by placing them in non profit companies for training. They are funded by grants. I've run out of things to do at City Hall so am being moved to a new place. I interviewed at the Dept of Child Surport but not sure about working there. I have to climb stairs, 25 of them and I'm sore from doing it once for the interview.

We had a 15minute rain storm come thru today. Loud thunder, lightening and heavy rain for 15 minutes than it was gone. Interesting storms we get here.

spoke to Post Office - they're still trying to get the website fixed so we can change addresses.
AND dealing with withholding of mail. It's in a community mailbox and we have no keys anymore.
I'm heading over to the church to speak to our minister, for support......

Hey Ernie I'll be looking for you tonight. I miss all the good times we used to have in the old Night owls. Not many of us left now but we should shake some cages and see who comes out.

Not ,uch to say. Garden was a bust this year due to so much rain & flooding,
then drought !

You go to your garden at 6:30am in your housecoat, with a flashlight, to get lettuce for your sandwich.

Only had cravings for tomatoes and an empty fridge at 2am once ..

I have cravings for tomatoes especially heritage ones. I didn't plant a veggie garden this year and the local tomato lady didn't grow any heritage this year.*Sigh* I basically seem to have a deer and rabbit sanctuary here - everything is fair game for the critters to munch on. Around 7 am I looked out the there were 17 turkeys strolling down the lane. Our Thanksgiving is a week away. Here to hunt turkey legally it is quite a complicated process. Makes you wonder how many are taken not following the legal process.

I swear in my next life I am coming back as a sleeper. I was thinking about vacuuming but figured the pups ( my boys as I refer to them) would get some pay back when I finally do fall asleep.

Dianne we call the Golden Hoar our kids but when referring to the two boys we call them the Boys. And 007 charming Jenny is called daddy's girl or sweet heart.

It is the pits I know it well lately but thankfully I have a wife that lets me sleep if I nap during the day. I never napped today but did just get 2 whole hours. Susan do you nap during the day?

Right now I'm up documenting stuff re: our tenants.
I've been up since 2:30 and it's 5am........ up out of bed that is - never did get to sleep

Sorry Ernie I finally took an Rx sleeper so got about 5 hours sleep. I feel like I need lots more so I might just have a nap after I get the boys squared away. Also last night the coyotes were silent for the first time in a few nights so that helped.

Glad Linda is 'letting' you nap lol The boys quite like to snuggle on the bed with me when I do nap.Not much room left for me as Diesel is 150 lb, Duke is 75lb and Chaos is well over 80 lb now. Chaos won't be as big as Diesel but still has lots of growing time left. Both of Diesel's parents were massive and he looks just like his dad.Chaos' breeder was sort of misleading with her photos of the pups but of course once you get there and lay eyes on the sweet little pup are you going to say no. I didn't drive 1.5 hours to come home without a pup. The pups looked huge in their photos. She also didn't tell me he had never been in a vehicle. He threw up from 1 end of the Escape to the other. Chaos had his own cat Doug.... I think the breeder thought I would take Doug along with me too. Not going to happen.

Dianne do not apologize for sleeping a purdy young thing such as yourself needs a few winks to avoid crows feet.I down sized to a queen size bed and 007 sleeps under the covers beside and James sleeps on the foot of the bed. Je is pretty smart it took about two nights and he learned to sleep on one corner that the other. I find it interesting he settled on the right side. Poor Andy can't jump up on to the bed anymore so he sleeps on the floor beside the bed. Once in a while we are joined by Milo the cat who sleeps on my feet until I am sleeping then gets on my spare pillow at the head of the bed.

Evening everyone. Did fall asleep around 11 pm but Duke woke me up about 20 min ago.

Not much going on here.. My massive vertigo from yesterday is calming down but just to make my life miserable I have a massive tooth ache on the bottom. Its the worst I have had in 20 years. I can't win for trying with my teeth. I recently has all of my upper teeth pulled because the radiation I had on my head killed all of their roots off.

Ernie how is the ulcer on your foot? Think positive I can't imagine you not being able to go to Alaska to fish.

After I have my 8:45 am eye exam I have to get Duke over to the vet's by 10 am. I am just steamed and someone is going to get an earful. I finally insisted that I see Heather who owns the clinic. She has been off on a personal leave and her clinic has gone to hell in a hand basket. I was told Duke couldn't have his meds - its elavil- unless he has a full exam. I think they just see $$$$ signs. Anyway those who know me know I will go to the ends of the earth for my pups so will follow orders.

Hope the storms missed everyone on here.
