Back from town to get cash from the bank and pick up a few things at the store. Rode in with Tony and got dropped off. Got picked up by a neighbor on an ATV as I started home. One nice thing about The Baja is the way people offer rides.
This morning I worked a little on the walk in the new garden. If I go out early enough it is still cool enough to get some work done. In another month visits out there will be brief.
Time for a little est and then maybe some work on the north side of the house.
We are going into summer here. As I walked through town lots of plumarias are blooming; they are very fragrant. And the flame trees in town are out. Mine is starting to bloom; it's a little cooler here than it is in town. As I worked by the local cultural center I noticed a huge patch of cordao plants. I have grown a few of them with seeds from Horizon Herbs. Don't know if the ones in town are bird-planted from my plants of several years ago or a local crop. I would not have noticed them if I hadn't grown them. The birds really like them so I may see if I can collect some seeds from there - if I can get to them before the birds do.
hugs all around, katie

Love the prom photos, bet his grad photos will feature his horse too. My DGD did for hers
Our adopted GDG was removed from her aunts home because of abuse. One part of it....she wasn't allowed to cry. The first day she fell and skinned her knee and cried, we all celebrated. It meant she felt safe enough to cry.
Sure know where I'd move if our place was sold, about resigned it just isn't gonna happen. Which will make everyone but me happy.
Betty, I may have company when I meet up with you. Kris/mudelf from Alabama said she is going to try and meet up with us.
Lindakay, I will be lookng forward to meeting up with you..girls want to do all the sights though? Are you up for it. Lol
Susan, glad your mom is holding her own, know it was touch and go for awhile. Is she back at the home.
Yep, know you would be in Tennessee Karen.
Katie, bet it's a marvellous place to live..once you pay for the land will the taxes be high..are they pretty pro Americans living there? So many questions. Lol
Trying to imagine as I breathe in what the scents would be like.
Think the scents I most smell here is sweet bugbane and mock orange, of course lilacs but they don't last long. Infact many of the lilac trees that were old when I moved her are on their last leg..seems this winter was hard on them. I've been buying lilac trees and planting in front of the old ones in hooe they will grow enough that when I cut the old ones I will still have my secret garden.
Break time, now you just knew I bet I would stop today until the washroom was painted! Think I got the edge when Tim called to say he picked up the tile/grout and would be here to put cement and meshing down tomorrow morning..3 day process, Wedn set tiles down, Thursday grout..sure hoping it will be set enough tomorrow for Jason to finish the. Cupboard then out to shop for new shower curtains, towels hardware..got to say can't do what I used to do..
Guess even with sleeping half the day away yesterday I'll still be on target
Back to work I go
I will go with you as long as this old hip will last. If I need a break, I will just go back to the motel with Kris for a bit, and join back up with you later.
This was one of our crazier trips to TN and let me tell you, making several trips a year over 20+ years we've had some doozies. Think this time someone must have painted a target on our car or there an exceptional number of crazies out there Glad to be here in one piece, gonna squat in place for a while. Amelia is the best little traveler while in the car, but as we got a later than planned start, we decided to stop at midnight as we still had 3 hours of travel time. She did NOT care for the motel at all. Finally fell asleep in our bed( no way was she getting in her own) at nearly 4 A.M. I was awake with her until then.Walt woke at 6 so we got up and ready to hit the road. Amelia practically dragged us out to the car. Did get here in time for great GS's 5th grade graduation. We were happy to be able to attend both events, DGDs Confirmation was just lovely yesterday.
Betty - left to right
Art is 74, Larry is 69, I am 70 and Alan is 77. So you can see how wonderful it was for us to be able to get together. The last time was for our Mom's funeral in 1987. Art is my brother who lost his wife in Jan. and lives in North Carolina. She was born with polio and travel was difficult for her so the last time they were in NH was when Norm and I got married 28 yrs ago!!!! It was a special day......
Repeating the photo so you don't need to jump back to it.
typed a long post and puff, touched something I should not have grrr
Karen so you are in Tennessee now, how long will you be staying..so love the photo's..yep, lots of crazies on the road! How long will you stay this time and where will you be staying? Me thinks you should have enjoyed the lake and headed down for the winter but the family I'm sure were thrilled for you to be there for the festivities.
Barb thanks, wasn't looking for ages but glad you included them..all very close in age. How is Art doing? Will he be returning home shortly?
Don't think its fair that I had to do all the work today, Riley and Missy did nothing but sleep!
LindaKay, with all the ailments we all have likely you will be putting us to bed.
I'm not so sure I like walls painted and to boot think it's too blue vs grey but I was told it would match the flecks in the stone countertop..Rita dropped in for coffee, said that I can't not like it just yet, once the white vanity and trim is done it will take on the grey tones..also the mirror and light fixture up and light tile..Rita says we will go shopping for curtain, towels and shower curtains on the weekend..not sure about that lol

The wedding is on the 31st of May. Don't think we will stay much longer after that, however it seems best laid plans and all that. Last time we were down we planned a week or two at most and ended up almost two months and then moving GS & family up there. All he hears from family here is they miss him and want him to come back but no one else was willing to give a small hand to keep him here.
We used to raise meat rabbits and hubby was itching to do so again. I saw a nice doe on CL that someone found in their yard. We went to get her and today DGS tells me she had 4 babies.. Hadn't planned to add any more until we got back. There went the plans again.
My uncle (2 years my senior) raises and shows rabbits, now has his wife involved n the clubs..great pastime for him.
Is grandson and his wife still north or did he come south with you?
Morning everyone, time to rise and shine!
Susie has the 2014 JUNE PLANT SWAP open.

Morning
Sunshine day here..gorgeous!
Was tired last night, slept right through the night, first in a long tme
Omg, here I am telling all the girls who do Roadtrip 2014 to make sure their passports are in order. Guess who doesn't have a passport as of mid June, me/me/me!
Oh oh
So just went and had my passport photo's done, because it's the last name change I have to do must go to city myself..thinking tomorrow morning. Wouldn't it be something, me without a passport?? NOT
Have been lurking for a bit ..
As it always seems to happen with me, I am going through a spate of deaths.
None CLOSE to me, but, friends parents, grandparents AND, my Hospice client ..
Kinda bummed out about that one as I found out through the newspaper .. her kids hadn't remembered to call me, but, they did today and I just let on I hadn't seen it.
W E T here .. rained all night and most of this morning .. yesterday Lorna planted 5 flats of flowers .. and I am praying for NO FROST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Pansies would be OK, but, the gorgoeus Impatiens bed she made would be 'toast' .. keeping the plastic close at hand.
Lorna is a heartbreaker .. she had adjustments to her leg last week, and she is struggling to live with them .. I helped her with the new silicone liner this morning, after half an hour of pulling and re applying we got it on right .. but .. and women will understand this .. the hard outer shell of her leg is cutting into her groin area .. NO WAY will she back down .. she padded it and off to the gym we went .. she worked out for an hour, but, I could see the pain in her eyes.
I just cannot figure out how this prosthetic leg process can be so darned complicated !!!
I also wonder if we shouldn't try to get a second opinion .. altho, that would mean significant travel to Toronto, and, she doesn't want to upset the apple cart here ..
Sigh ...
Got a 10 year passport in April .. I 'offhandedly' said to the agent, I sure hope I outlive it! She was so shocked .. I was only kidding .. she said she'd be right there when I come back in 10 years ..
Not much more happeneing .. loved all the gorgeous family pictures ....
Anyone not feeling up to snuff, I send hugs and a promise of a brighter tomorrow ..
Toodles
~M~
Did you send me your rain "M"
You would have thought someone would have let you know about your hospice patient death.
Big sig, do you think they made Lorna's prosthetic incorrectly?? Feel so badly for her especially with having a starting date next month..she must be beyond herself. Linda just got a brace, need a Masters degree to figure out how to wear it..she has been back about 3 times a week since may, still needs tweaking, nuisance for sure but what can you do.
I decided on the 10 year passport as well, it will likely outlive me but just incase I'll opt for it. Got to love those passport photo's, look straight, don't smile..horrid!
I was to have gone to a funeral this afternoon but am sneezing away, I called Rita and she is n bed..perhaps she left it when she visited yesterday!
Sorry to hear about all the deaths "M"! Sending lots of thoughts and prayers!
May we have a new room Betty? Please!
I could try it, have done it before, but, I'll wait for a bit in case Betty wants to do it.
GADZOOKS ... my machine SHUTDOWN .. when it re booted, I had to LOGIN to this site ..
SHUT UP!!! Talk about a mind bender re passwords LoL
~M~
I told this site to remember my password so even in that situation, I only have to click on the word login and it logs me in. Don't have to remember the password.
Moving us over...
