Bet even the furries are trying to snuggle up wishing their 'mom's a special day.

thought I'd be home early last night but enjoyed the evening with family so much we stayed till the end.

If a day could be all around perfect then yesterday was the day..another soon to start

Happy Mother's Day to all my friends here. And a special one to Melissa and to Ann. God's miracles sure do make this day special.

Norm already made me breakfast, is vacumning the floors and is taking me for a ride to Portland Maine to watch Sean play ball there. It is supposed to be a gorgeous day for a ride so that is where I picked to go.

My first kiss was from Piper, then a PURrrrrrrrrr from Smokey .. then Lilly jumped up onto the bed smack on my stomach, more doggie kisses (she's a slurpy one)
Murray called, he's at work, I'll see him Tuesday ..
Gord got me a lovely card and some pansies ..
I'll be off to the cemetery later, never did make it yesterday .. the day was just way too nice to leave the yards .. my Mom would understand ^_^

Tis sad I'm sure..I think of my grandmother who raised me, hard to believe she has been gone more than a decade..guess its a day to bring to the surface all those wonderful memories!

Kids came in for coffee, oops, movie 'White House Down' is on until 11:45' guess it will be a longer break than they thought, movie has their full attention..everyone in awhile I gab on and on and here a shhhh shhhh. Lol

Mothers day is a sad day for me too, as my Mom had her massive brain aneurysm Mothers day, and passed away the next day! Hard to believe it is 8 years now!

I guess it gets easier as the years go by...I hope so anyway! My mother passed in 2011. Hard to believe 3 years already.

Betty, my research shows that Conneaut, Oh is halfway for us. I thought it might be Erie, Pa, but that's about an hour longer for me than you. I'd be willing though!

Well one of these days we will do it Joyce, as long as there is a nursery for you and fabric shop we can enjoy.

I'd say it only gets easier because we learn to deal with the pain, older we get and more losses in our life we kind of build a shield to protect ourselves.

Having DMIL and Bill's step brother along with DS, Mark, his GF and DGD, Jordyn and her BF, Zach. We haven't met him yet. Not sure about DS Bill III and his family. Seems she wants to spend the day relaxing at home. 😡

For you, Betty, I had to use Toronto, but I added 45 minutes to the time. Whenever I put Victoria Harbour in it took me way, way out West!! I'm sure we could find some kind of trouble to get ourselves into. It's right on the water.

Happy Mothers Day to all my fabulous friends on this thread....and those not on here also. Yes, Joyce it is a sad day and my concern is now that Sue makes it through okay. Kim gave me a beautiful Jim Shore angel with Mom on the front......I have this thing about Jim Shore angels.

Wonderful evening last night.....I can't believe how my GDs have grown. The youngest was a pirate and a better part could not have been chosen for her!!

Unfortunately Kim and I have to go shop for a new oven today.......drastically needed as she has cake orders coming up and the toaster oven just doesn't seem to do it. :-)

That would be nice Joyce! Maybe in June before summer starts..need a roadtrip before the 2014 Roadtrip!

Oh Joyce I wish I was closer I would be right over with Debbie and her BBQd ribs. I have an appetizer of pineapple and sausage all made up and ready to go to a gathering ......But it was cancelled as the host was taken by ambulance to hospital around noon. Looks like a heart attack If it is a heart attack this is his third one in 18 mon. The last time he coded but they brought him back.

Betty it sounds like you had a wonderful, busy weekend. Did the guys like White House Down? I enjoyed it but certainly wasn't an Oscar worthy performance. Channing Tatum stars in it and he is a picnic for the eyes. I want to watch Philomena so will look to buy it the next time I order from Amazon.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. I think I received the best possible Mother's Day gift possible - the meds are working on Duke. Woo hoo. Other than 1 lengthy outburst at 3 am he has done really well. I probably would have hooted and hollered too if I was a dog and a coyote was standing staring into the house. Just as I was ready to get the rifle the coyote wandered off.

Done sweet nothing today except the dishes and vacuuming. Horrors of horrors my dishwasher is broken.Have already waited a week for the repairman, sure hope he can fit me in this week.

Happy Birthday to Paul! Warren's BD is May 14. I always used to make a fuss over it as he never had birthday cake let alone a BD party when he was a kid.In my family the tradition was to have a Birthday box - much like your stocking at Christmas. He loved it!

Got a doozy of a black fly bite on Friday. My whole forearm swelled up and the stinker bit so hard there is a bruise. It is still red hot so I have been icing it.

Trilliums are out in full bloom. I don't see any pink or mauveone though. Dutchmen's Britches are blooming too.

Love pansies M. They are a flower that make me smile as they always seem so happy.

OK I really need to get off my duff and get something done. Make sure you all do something nice for your self today ladies.

1010 radio had a discussion on black flies, because of the hard winter and damp spring we will have a bumper crop this year..

I still think it's downright odd that I've only seen white trillium in Canada, eh, and they're Ohio's state wildflower. That's just not right!

Remembered I had a wire tombstone clip, went and bought a beautiful arrangement of artificial flowers in a basket, wire cutter, scissors, ribbon, extra flowers and got to the cemetery

It was not raked, there were down limbs that one could hardly walk amonst the tombstones, staff must have collected all the old basket, tombstone flowers and instead of picking them up just left them alng the roadside...disgusting to say the least and so disrespectful of our loved ones.

Grandma Bessie is the only one buried in that cemetery thank God, rode to 2 others and they were pristine

So sad some don't take care of the cemeteries!

Is sad, no respect! I'll be calling Midland Town Office in the morning as will many of those walking the cemetery today!

Thanks for sharing your family with us. Had a pretty blue day today, mostly just hubby and I, but really didn't expect more. All called and now they all have their own families.

It was a good day for me. Norm and I went for a drive to Portland Maine, where Sean was playing baseball today. He had a great game, we had a great ride and when we got home, Norm made me a great steak!!! All around great day!!!!

Can't believe how much your grandsons have grown, Betty.

Last one left about 7:30. We had cheeseburgers, bratwursts, macaroni salad, baked beans with hamburger and bacon and corn casserole. Fritos and potato chips with dip. DMIL brought chocolate chip peanut bars and tapioca. DGD brought wine! Had a nice time. Just 8 of us, but a fun time and good food!

Wonderful day here inspite of having to look for new appliances. Kim prepared tostados for dinner....really good! Charles came by and visited for a while. Life is good.

Did find me a new microwave ...smaller counter top size. Best part....I had points that I didn't even realize from when I bought my all fridge last fall. Microwave...$129.99; final cost tax included: $74.00. I had no clue they actually were worth something.

Off tomorrow to get a new threshold for the dungeon doorway and will meet DS at 5:30 to buy the wood that is needed to finish up the trim work. Getting closer every day.

Ticks are really bad here, too this year. That's what I'm doing up so early. Bad thing is, our ticks carry Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Not good! Wonder why they are so plentiful this year?

Raining this morning. Going to pick up some impatiens this morning and breakfast with Sherry. Sometime this week I have to pot plants for the G/C plant sale. Tomorrow night is the Hosta Club auction. Not planning on buying anything, but it's always fun to go to!
