Weather in the Garden #137

Oh please send that Connecticut storm this way soon. Rivers are very low and the ground is parched. Hazy, 74 and humid with a prevalent breeze. Hoping a storm front does its work quickly.

The storm didn't last long, but lots of rain.....I had standing water in my garden & patio areas....sunny & warm right now.....heading to the farm around noon .....should get some cool breezes up there.....

Short thunderstorm this afternoon. another half inch of rain. I spend the afternoon reading in the room with the window air conditioner. 77 at the moment so have opened a couple upstairs windows.

Went to sleep with the A/C on....woke up to a chill wind! Much better temps & humidity for today....

Just turned 71° We seem to have a bit of a breeze off the ocean. No further rain last night.

Temp in the 50s overnight. Supposed to be in the 80s here today. 71° at the moment.

Another great summer's day here....am babysitting at the farm when the kids get out of school.....

82° hazy sun supposed to be cooler with some rain tomorrow. Here we have been hoping for more rain & we have a funeral to go to on Sat.

Rain has been predicited. Why are funerals always in the rain?

True...it poured during my brother's funeral.....he was a veteran, & the Marines that gave the gun salute had to just stand there, no umbrellas. Supposed to be bad weather here today, severe T-storms this afternoon & evening.

Just heard tornado warning for Lowell, MA area - and that looks like wha's neck of the woods.

Batten down those hatches - our prayers from the Valley are with all of you in the northeast.

DS is driving up to Lowell this very minute. I did warn him about heavy storms. Hopefully he will heed the warnings and stay off the road during the worst.

thanks VV - they ended up just north of us and we did not really get much rain which is needed. thunder and lightning out there now.

Ha ha! Comcast cancelled so DS is ahead of the storm driving home now. No doubt they want to get out of Dodge. DS assures us on the phone that he doesn't want to get stuck in a tornado.

Thunder and lightening are starting now. Our dog is hunkering down for the duration. The air was heavy and oppressive all afternoon. Not a good outdoor day.

2 thunderstorms this afternoon. Glad that it waited since we had to attend a funeral this morning. Everyone was dying from the heat & since the funeral people were in charge, they didn't open the side door like the church ushers would know to do.

2" of rain here from the storms which we were glad to see. The radio said that 2 girls on Crane's Beach in Ipswich were struck by lightning. I will see what the paper says tomorrow.

I hope the girls are OK.

Google weather says there are more thunder storms due at 10 pm and I can hear it revving up again, but I think our storm has mainly passed now.

It's just as well that DS had a difficult physics problem that kept his attention tonight, so he didn't go back to work on preparing his apartment.

Rain totaled 2 & a half inches with light rain overnight. 72°, a lovely cool down & supposed to be in the 70s all week.

Lovely day, Sunny but mild. Rain gauges show we got 1/4" since Tuesday when we were here last.

The heat has certainly broken....bad storms just to the north of me, but only heavy rain here.....perked up the gardens.....very chilly overnight, had to have a jacket on this morning!

Yes, I turned the heat on last night! Night temp was supposed to be 38.....sunny today, high around 65.....
