Going to be worse tomorrow before the next cool front.
Weather in the Garden #137
Time to purchase more soaker hoses to add to the quadruple spigots. Watering the new stuff took 2 hours tonight while they are newly pplanted. 90 degrees tomorrow means good riddance to the wimpy plants that can't take the heat. A couple of the deodar cedar babies were questionable survivers, Have to find some other lacy blue low growing shrubs. The tall uprights are fine, which is the reverse of what I wanted. Well friends do share.
It will be 90 here today, then severe storms....I hoed the veggie garden last evening so the water will soak in......
off and on storms today
up to 90 & evening thunderstorms. I could use the rain without the noise.
it was a nice 114 that last two days here in Phoenix and surprisingly no blisters from skin burning.
ugh to the temperature.
Wow....just like being cooked! Didn't know the temp was that bad.....bad enough here yesterday at 90.....this morning it's 65 & refreshing! Lots of thunder & rain last night, but no damage.
No rain here. 72° partly cloudy
I've been to Arizona. You almost don't know how hot it is because it is so dry. We left our bread on a picnic table for a few minutes and were surprised that after a little wind it was toast. Here it's the humidity with the heat that makes everything seem so slowed down.
I was in Phoenix one time & I knew how hot it was. April heat wave & our air conditioner was not working properly.
this is the monsoon season so a little humid - only 110 in Tucson today so not so bad...........
We here would not like it, Bill.
I was in New Mexico in July one year.....had to walk around with a water bottle....Top ten day here today....low 80s, low humidity....
74° partly cloudy
Had a very heavy shower a few minutes ago....cloudy, 70, humid right now....
The rain seems to have been delayed. We're very dry here still.
Heavy rain while driving to Norfolk. when we came home late in the afternoon, there was very little in our rain gage. Our plants would have loved more.
We got the rain here! While in eastern CT, picking up Nicki, awful storms hit Litchfield & New Haven counties.....the tornado was about 20 miles from here, just to the northeast of Waterbury....just showers in eastern CT......last night rain again here, but no storms.
82° some rain this morning. A tornado SW of here in Revere, MA. The weather on TV were following a 'notch' north & it was due west before they cancelled a warning.
Wow! Please stay safe, everyone. More rain is predicted over the next week. Let's tell the weatherman this isn't Kansas! If it's just rain I will be very happy.
Sunny & 70s today....it was chilly & wet in the backyard at 5 this morning!
Nicki let me sleep to 6:30 this morning, so it was pretty nice out by then.....the sun is trying to shine fully....should be a nice day today....
85 and sunny
Warm today, mid 80s, maybe a t-storm later.....
73 and humid now. Clearly rained overnight. I'm not the only lucky one. My family would have had one cranky lady on their hands if someone didn't water the plants. They look fine, no casualties this past week, as the August bloomers are starting. They only have to compete with the crab grass for one more week.
82° Planted some irises this morning & it was too hot. they had to get into the ground, but will wait a bit on the next group. Inside is worse, badgered by phone calls which get through the do not call list.
Those robo calls are horrible! Strong T-storms last night & several inches of needed rain.....Nicki never moved a muscle even when the thunder was right over us! Mid 80s today with more storms later.....
We got 1" of rain last night according to my rain gauges. Wow!
73° no rain (or sprinkles) overnight.
We seem to get some rain every night. Still promise of more rain but sunny in the daytimes, low 80's
Downright chilly this morning.....Nicki was up at 6:30, but then slept to 7:30......I usually don't go out until 8 to get my paper, so this is a new experience communing with nature when it's cold & wet outside!
great sleeping weather though
I hope her system lets her sleep long in the winter. It sounds like she is settling down.
Nicki slept 8 hours last night....good for me, I've been running a temp the past few days.....another chilly night....good sleeping, but not what the tomatoes want!
Down into the 50s last night. Still only 59° hazy sun. We got one heavy shower yesterday, but that is all the rain.
No rain here yesterday....just a sparkling day....same for today, but warmer....highs in the mid-80s.....super moon was super last night!
Another great weather day.....these are the days we dream about in January!
78° It has been such a nice cool summer.
Robin, Nicki??! I will search the threads for details, but I am excited thinking you now have your new puppy you mentioned at Bill's. How very exciting! Have you posted photos on any thread? Congrats for being a new Mom!
