Weather in the Garden #137

Raining steadily right now.....really need it......Sept. rainfall was over 2" below normal, & temp was 1.5 degrees above normal....

An inch & a half of rain here. It waited until Oct. after the driest Sept since 1957. .43" then & .26" this year.

Finally some rain over the last two days, The trees were looking "crispen and sere" to quote Edgar Allen Poe.

I thought we had more rain.....only a little over half an inch, but I'm not complaining.....everything looks better in the gardens.

We had a second inch of rain overnight which gives us over 2". I am hoping the it helps save some irises which we had lined out.

Half an inch is better than none... I hope we got that much too. Some things are going dormant early.

Should have some rain today

Nice today, 65, sunny.....storm coming tomorrow.....I'm babysitting at the farm this afternoon, so thankful I can get the kids out to play. That includes Nicki!

Aww! All the youngsters get to play. How great to be there for that.

How is Nicki? Sounds like she's still very much a puppy!

Hi, Pam....yes, Nicki's only 4 months old, still a baby, but a very smart baby! She has certainly trained me......didn't have to babysit after all......Garret had to do some site work for the engineering firm he works for, & finished early, so he was home by 3 to get the kids off the bus.....cloudy & drizzly here at the moment.....

Rained in the night. Found out this morning that my son had left the windows open on the car a bit when he borrowed it to pick up his daughter from school yesterday. Apparently he was giving her fresh air since she had been sick. Guess he assumed I'd use it later in the evening.

it only made it to 48 for a high today

It is 60°, but damp.

36 at 7 this morning when I went out with the dog......close to a frost, but we escaped!

39° this morning, but now up to 55°. Toos oon for cold weather, but one does not expect Oct. to be balmy.

Glad it warmed up a bit during the day, got a lot done.

A little warmer today....close to 70....showers coming in tonight......going up to my fav orchard today.....Small crops for them this year, & I'm hoping to get some Baldwins before they sell out.....

It rained in the night, less than 1/8" but enough to 'settle' the plants I moved yesterday. Quite warm this morning when the sun came out. Now I'm gone again until the weekend.

Glad you got a lot done, Pam......Rained very heavily during the night.....had a leak in the bathroom ceiling around 4 this morning.....The roof is 16 years old, but we put on 30 year shingles! Have to send Garret up there to find the problem......
