4" of rain from Arthur last night. Not to windy. It is 74° & a breeze now; feels great!
Weather in the Garden #137
We needed the rain....sunny, mid 80s today, heading off to a picnic.
79° bright sun. DH is able to finish the mowing which he started yesterday.
we left on the 4th for western MA and I expected things to look wetter - there was not even water in the bottom t-plants on the deck.
I love the Berkshires in western MA....but only in the summer! Very hot today, around 90.....going to a picnic where there is a pool....
have a great time and don't worry about the plants getting watered, Bill. Temp is 69 with clouds forming.
75° & mostly sunny. Perhaps scattered showers, but more chances of rain tomorrow.
Thunder & rain several times last night...no complaints, we need it! Cloudy today, chance of more showers throughout the day......
About the same here but there is a patch of sun at the moment. Oops now there's not!
77° hazy sun. A shower with thunder came through just after 1 am.
t- storms this am and mid afternoon
Thunder & rain during the night....sunny right now....feels less humid today.
Nasty weather once again at the farm, but thankfully, I was home by then.....here, only a shower with a little thunder in the distance. Cooler today, less humid.
73° very pleasant--a nice breeze would be great.
Just a great weather day today.....cool, sunny, breezy......
The weather was great! Rain in the early part of next week is a reason to work fast. Ground is very dry. Water can drip for an hour or more on the new tree and there is no sign of damp earth.
Perfect, rain in the night. Another good day to get stuff done!
Rain overnight here as well. Not sure how much, it has not been measured. 72° here & overcast.
We need more rain, but clearly it's coming.
Same here....spending the day at the farm today with the grandies.....hope to pick a few blueberries.....
YUM!!!
Yesterday wasn't as hot here as they said it would get.
82° slight breeze this morning showers predicted
Torrential rain about 2:00, a few claps of thunder.....now it's just very sticky.......
Very cool this morning, lightly raining....all the severe storms missed us......
72° Thunderstorm this morning--not sure how much rain.
Sunny & 67 right now....low humidity, breezy......going to be a great day!
64° mostly cloudy. It looks like work outdoors is possible.
Another chilly morning....great for sleeping, but the peppers in the veggie garden are complaining!
Could weed in the shade this morning. I sort of follow it around.
Chilly & cloudy this morning.....very cool for July, but I did get a lot of weeding done yesterday, as well.....
67° overcast. The batch of cool weather really helps with garden work.
Amazing how humid it is though. Same temp here but even the dog thinks it's too hot to rest in the dirt.
was cooler the last few days, trying to catch up on weeding
We are trying to weed also--somewhat of a lost cause.
I finished weeding one iris bed......hoping to get more done today if it doesn't rain.....very cloudy once again this morning.....
69 degrees and overcast. Yesterday it was unnecessary to look up because a nose poke in the leg frequently said there were rain clouds, but they didn't open up. Trying to create an evergreen background for parts of the hill that have pollinator flowers and viburnums, planting baby conifers.
Groan. Decent weather also means the new neighbors tell us their dreams for their yard. We may soon be looking at a tall white vinyl fence, but I may have persuaded them to give us some air circulation besides a little lattice at the top. Not the look we're aiming for. Two owners back it was an artist living in a charmingly old farm house.
An iris friend in Concord has next door condos which planted a row of white pines. Not only shaded on to their beds badly, but the roots make difficulties to their garden. I told them to find something to inject into those trees. the present director & a couple of the residents don't like the pines either. they felt that a fence was too much maintenence, never thinking (or not caring) about neighbors.
Went to West Palm Beach area for the weekend for a funeral and it was 91 degrees. I am so happy to be back home to enjoy the beautiful 76 degrees . I saw such beautiful tropical hibiscus flowers , wish I could bring all back home.lol
Hibiscus are so pretty! In the 70s today up at the farm....the water in the pool was cold!
HHH......summer is finally here!
