Sweet Interruptions. Rm 282

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ronna, I will have to get a bottle! I'm also out of JD!! Marion if you're lurking.. the liquid kind.

It's difficult to change Kel's diet when I met him too late!!! He's never been taught proper nutrients nor will he chew his food! Wonder why he farts all day? Hmm...
He just called and told me he expect cube potatoes with the meat loaf. I told him be thankful that I cooked!! Lol.

Sis Kathy, there you go breaking the rule. Now don't do that again. Black and white pepper isn't easy to digest. Rather you sprinkle some fine red pepper!

Anxious to know what the verdict is for your dad, LK.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'm sorry, but I learned my lesson

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Learnt the hard way eh Sis :D Love you to pieces!

Im sad to hear of darius passing. I knew she had health issues. She will be missed.
Marion my heart goes out to you and Sue. I know that road to well. Went through it with Jessica. Its hard to see our loved ones in such turmoil. Sending you love girl

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good news on Dad, The Dr. says it looks bad, but it is healing, will check it again in 2 weeks.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh yay LK! What great news! Prayers continue.

Sue, are you doing ok? I know this is a really tough month for you. (((((Sue)))))

Marion hang in there, girl!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Not really lurking just haven't had time to read much or post.
Jaye, the bottled kind can't be very good in the "eye candy" department! I guess it will do in a pinch.

Kathy, woman what in the world are we going to do with you? I thought my family had all the hard headed women in it......guess we must be related. Fine with me.

LK, good to hear your dad's foot is getting better....longslow process.

Sue, sending hugs to you. I can only imagine how hard this time of year must be....extra hugs and prayers.

Sue had her nerve block yesterday. The day with a comedy of errors and only got worse. First we were called at 7am (appointment was for 12:30) asking if she could be at the hospital by 8. Told them 8:30 was possible ...an hour drive. Ok. Then as we were getting ready, a call saying no..come scheduled time. Got her there at 12:30 only to find out the doctor wouldn't be there until 3. Not what a stressed person needed. Finally had the procedure ......11 injection sites. She feels great today for thefirst time in several years. No back pains, no numbness, .no having to sit on ice packs for burning areas.

Still working with doc to find depression meds that don't have reverse reaction on her. My job is still 24/7 .

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Still sitting here with moral support, Marion. Sure wish I could help somehow!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Awesome news LK! You and your family must be relieved, and of course dad too! His spirits should pick up some! The alternative is avoided, thank you God.

Sue, sending you love too girl. The opportunity to broadcast Jessica's ordeal may help you heal. Think of how many lives she'd save with your story. Some folks are too naive. There are many dangerous internet predators out there.

I didn't know roast beets can be so goooooood!!!! Decided to roast some fresh ones, just drizzle olive oil, sprinkle Tony's, and roast them in a tinfoil packet at 375 for an hour. I got them for the greens, as I love bitter greens. Normally I'd prepare the beets by slicing and sauteeing them. Took the lazy way and oh boy!!! I had a great vege supper with the asparagus! Kel chowed down on the meatloaf.. no potatoes :D
Of course, now I have stains to get rid of!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

11 injection sites.. goodness. That's major!
Marion, don't forget to take a little time to recharge. Asking the Lord to help with the doctor in finding the right meds. Also, sending Sue healing vibes and for you, strength.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Wonderful news Linda Kay.
Keeping you in my prayers Sue.
Holding you close Marion.....

WOW! That is a lot of injections Marion, Did they sedate her for all of them? Still sending prayers for the Dr.'s to find the right meds.

Dylan turned two yesterday. I am going to San Antonio for the week end for his party Saturday!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I had a crazy day. First, DH had doctor appointment, normal check up. He wasn't feeling very well when we got there so I went back to the truck to get his portable oxygen. When I got back they had him in a room already, major issue cropped up. He said he almost passed out and they were getting him ready for an EKG. The doctor kept popping in to find out the news then decided he should go to the hospital for more tests. I guess EKG wasn't normal. Good thing the hospital is on the same grounds as the clinic They came over with the ambulance and took him to ER. They hooked him up again and said he would be staying overnight. Got a little scary when doctor asked if we had decided on life support or not. He says there is a flutter and want to get heart back to normal beat. Well, he said if anything happens he doesn't want to be on life support, I think he has enough problems without his heart acting up. Prayers needed for this issue too. He sure can get crabby and mean when he feels so bad. Bite my tongue and say nothing.

Can't believe Dylan is 2 years old already. What a beautiful little boy.

Finished up the last of the corn beef and cabbage tonight. Tummy full so now will see if I can understand more of this Windows 8

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness Pegi, sending out huge prayers for Darwin! Please keep us updated!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Awww Linda Dylan is such a cutie and growing so fast. Enjoy his party.

Pegi so glad you were at clinic and near hospital. Can sure understand his being crabby, not feeling well and not knowing what is going on can be so scary. He just didn't need another problem to crop up.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Darwin just called and the put him in a room and got him hooked up to a lot of machines. His heart and pulse rate is back to normal and he sounds like he is feeling good. They also ran a cat scan but don't know what that showed. Ate his supper and he said they keep bringing him food. I think he is getting spoiled, not just at home. I'm sure they will release him tomorrow.

In the mean time, I figured out how to put my pictures in the picture library in the library. Wish they would stop changing names for some places. Now to work on other things.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a good report Pegi! Let us know when he comes home!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Pegi, I also hope he well enough to come home tomorrow. Sending hugs for you and prayers for both.

LK, the procedure Sue had done has to be done in a hospital under sedation. It is to inject anti inflamatory meds to the areas surrounding the pinched nerves thus 11 wound sites.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers they all work for her!

Morning everyone! I will be headed to San Antonio about 9 for an injection in my hip, then Dylan's 2nd Birthday party on Saturday. Hard to believe he is two already!I will be home Sunday. You all be good!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Linka have a great time except for the injections. Dylan is a sweetheart of a boy. 2 is such a wonderful age. Miss my little ones. Now looking forward to the gbabies.
My mom is doing good. She was happy the nurse told her she could not lift her arm above her head for 6 weeks so no work. But the doctor said she could all but lifting heavy things. She she is so happy she does get to go back to work next week. She is such a strong lady. Love her to bits. I am going over to thier house today. She may need help with a few things.
Yes Pegi it is a wonderful thing you were already at the hospital. Saving grace. Hope he is doing much better. Can be very scary.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good news your Mom can go back to work! Tell her not to over do it!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

marion, we must be sisters from another mister! LOL
Linda, good news about dad.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I wrote a novella and darn if one of my cats decided to run across the keyboard and wiped out everything!!!!

The gist of what I wrote..
Pegi, thanking God here that Darwin was at the right place. May he continue to heal, and your new pc will keep your mind occupied for a long time!

Marion, does Sue has a herniated disc? That will also affect her psyche. So sorry you have to go through this alone there. Hope one of your relatives will offer to help, so you could get some rest... but I know.. Sue will just protest. ((((Marion)))))

Cookie, how's the lab report? Great numbers I hope for Bill.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Had to post that as the cats are having scenarios!! Lol..
continue..

Ronna, that's great that your mum is returning to work! She must be gentle to herself.

Have a splendid time LK. Yep, a necessary shot on your hip, at least it's just one :D Dylan turning 2, time doesn't stop for babies to stop growing! Dylan's sweet natured, and he won't go through that terrible 2 period! Hope..
Anyway, kisses for his cheeks please and we expect pictures!!

Hey Sis. What's up for today? Nice weather there for Michael to be doing some work for you! You are so spoilt by that man and God doesn't make much of men like that!!

Karen and Barb, does it look like spring will be there in a week?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lurking
love to all

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Will be headed up to hospital soon, DH called and said he will be released after 12 noon. He keeps me jumping!! I hope my weekend will be quiet.

I discovered how to put my pictures from camera into computer, but to figure out how to post them is another issue. It just showed pictures taken with Sanyo (thanks again Jaye) and not from my Kodak. I may have to do some more playing around. A friend just told me her mother's computer died after 12 years and when she went to buy a new one they told her NO NO NO to Windows 8. They may think they are making things easier but as far as I'm concerned it is more complicated. I can just go to Internet Explorer and I'm back to what I'm used to. A lot of sites to go on telling about Windows 8, guess I better start reading all of them. One nice thing I like, if I'm writing a letter and misspell a word the computer corrects it for me. How is the world are the youngsters of today suppose to learn how to spell when all this technology does it for them. I did have to download java and now playing games without any more trouble. BTW, house is getting dirty again so you know where my priorities lay. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

((((((((((((Susan)))))))))))) don't lurk, come on down and chat for a spell. It's always good to 'read' your words.

Pegi, Darwin must be anxious to get home. Hospital stay is the pitts, but necessary when you need round the clock observation.
Kel got a HP Probook that comes with WIndows 8. But he had it changed to Windows 7 after so many convinced him to do so. Even our town's pc specialist recommended that. It wasn't too long ago, Windows 8.1 which is supposed to have fixed 8's issues.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I do wish MS would make sure the kinks are work out of their operating systems before they foist them upon us.

I was not at all happy with Windows 7 as so many of my usual programs would not work with it nor would my scanner. Not too anxious to make another switch, just got 7 so I can manage it fairly well.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

got some more hanging plants.
Michael is lanting grass seed, then he is going to put up some more hangers for me, and plant myrose bush.
we went to lowes, biglots, and grocery shopping. what a relief not to have to carry the groceries in the house.

Wine, ( girl scouts ) thin mints , friends and whip cream..... can a girl ask for anything more LOL
oh yes i m watching Call The Midwife too.
yep its a good night.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Well Darwin is home, got good care in hospital. Sent him home with instructions and meds. He has Atrial Flutter, heart beats too fast and doesn't pump blood very well. It can occur without having heart disease because of his COPD. Has meds to take to avoid angina. The gal came in to discuss our financial responsibility and was so shocked when she said it was $65. That was the price for ER and she said because this is a follow up from ER we won't be charged regular price of hospital, $240 a day. I just hope they don't come back to charge us for the ambulance either. That is supposed to be another $200. Food was good and he saved some that he couldn't eat for me. Said we were having a picnic, sharing his lunch. He has an appointment to see our regular doctor on April 4th.

I do have Windows 8.1 and I am learning to get around a little better. Only thing is I can't send out resume's for my son since this doesn't have office. The resume is in the computer, but when I click on it tells me I need office. I did upload a picture

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

They are sooooo cute!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I agree with you Karen. I think it's deliberate that MS keeps creating new OS just to extract money for the upgrades. Then the apps had to be upgraded to suit the latest OS and that means more money.

Cross our fingers Pegi, that that's all the charges you have to pay! Poor Darwin, more challenges.. he's blessed to have you.
Do you have WordPad? You could use that, instead of MS Word, Your pups are so cute!!

Sue, it's hot tea for me tonight. Might just be the thing to relax me. Kel's already snoring away. That man can fall asleep at the drop of a hat!

Goodnight Cookie.. Sis.. everyone.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Night, all!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, the only family who might help is our 85 yo aunt. Although we love her very much, she doesn't understand why Sue just can't get over this. I truly am not surprised this happened. Between mom and her cats, she really didn't have or do much else. She is also dealing with some long repressed anger issues. Marriage issues.

She seems to be much better with the new medicine and is eating some better. She has lost 20+ lbs. that she didn't really need to lose.

No she doesn't have a disc issue with her back but pinched nerves. Remember I missed the Sistahs gathering at Joyce's because she had taken a fall carrying heavy bags and I came down to help her and care for mom.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion would she be up to taking the trip with you to the sisters gathering?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, I'm so sorry!! Sounds like Sue has so much deep seated resentment that any knowledge of you having a good time without her, her subconscious would react to force you to change your plans. Tell me it's just a coincidence.
Wish I could lighten your load. Know that you're always thought of in a positive light, praying God gives you the strength and courage to bear Sue's illness. Yes, prayers for Sue to recover for sure, but we don't want you to be sucked into Sue's mental vortex when it strikes. You have been blessed with so much, and we sure don't want you to lose that sweet precious, positive spirit.

What LK suggested, is a great idea. A change of scenery and knowing your wacky friends will do her some good.

Good morning sisters. Kel has the cold. Thank God he's off this weekend. When he's ill, he's like a giant baby that needs constant attention.
If only the man will drink hot spiced teas.

Have a better Saturday than me sisters!

This message was edited Mar 22, 2014 9:16 AM

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope he gets rid of that cold quickly.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Me too LK. He had a flu shot. His immune system is much more wacky lately, exposed to all those prisoners, and having to have firearms retraining in the rain.
He said he'd feel better as soon as he gets a chicken fajita or a good tamale.
Think he might be Kim's brother in another life.
