Interesting...I can't wait to see what I get!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

I was near a seed rack today . picked up a dollars worth of a couple more zinnia and a green ,
I put a few in the Robin besides the ones from my garden ,
Some to grow , some to you all . One of the Zinnia packs is a candy striped southern , I put it in the Robin because it might be to cold where I grow them .
I may send the Robin , to Robin tomorrow , I am done going through , have more than I will probably grow , and I am a "Very Happy Camper" !!! ^_^

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

What a sweetheart Juhur, happy to know you enjoyed the robin. I'll be patiently waiting for her to fly by.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

SPWD (Becky) Glad the Cerise Queen sprouted for you. I have a few plants, but I am going to sow some more, cause I like the color. Now I have all this seed, I have to figure out what to sow first. Terrible problem to have....NOT!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

I have several plant seeds I wanted to try the big White zinnia .white and yellow shows up real nice here ,
Have to have reds for Hummingbirds though ,,

I will have to go in to the P.O. and get a priority Addy Label , takes a minute , but not bad either , I get somewhat hyper once in while when out running about ,
Feel good and feel patient though , for now ,

I will grow as much as I am comfortable with and the others I will send to another Robin at DG .lol .
Mipii , I love Robins also !!! ^_^ Especially in spring !!! lol ^_^

I never seem to finish cleaning and organizing seeds . I need to be better at it .. really do ..

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

You and me, both! Juhur7. I gotta' get organized!!!

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Juhur, you don't have to send the robin priority as per what Amanda said earlier in the post...just to let you know.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Not the all weight white box , Brown box ,The one I got was already wearing a little , it was a good one from Nanny. Though A ripped flap and a big dent already , I put it in a box used to ship tools . Not any better if, even as good a box . Only newer looking ,,
Only priority tracking .and first class as priority ,,

Isabelle was the name of the Zinnia . It was only from the 20 cent rack , pretty good stuff . 5 for $ through some as much as 3.00 $ a pack .
I love the garden center centers , or outdoor living centers ,
Hmmm , I did not enjoy outdoor living this winter as much as times past ... ^_^ lol

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

I realize I ain't suppose to but I wanted to try a few more seeds (lol?), The first time I grew some California Giant Zinnia I had some 7ft tall , A few years later one of them became the multi- color bloom on one plant like the 1920's or 30's heirloom .
Seeds cross pollinated and became something else after that , but it was interesting and I got lots of blooms and few things I had not seen before .

The Robin should be on it's way shortly ;

Good morning all. Just checking in. Glad you've enjoyed the Robin, Ju. Get her back up flying ... this cruddy weather has got to GIVE soon! Maybe some of us will get to plant somethin g.

Susie I had the Ipomopsis. It's a native here, so of course.... it did not bloom the first year from seed and did not come back the following year. Just my experience...

Have a great day.

Badcat, is that an English Spot or a Checkered Giant on your profile pic?

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

English Spot Nanny. :)

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Does that mean fertilizer and then dinner after two seasons ?
I like the Rabbit show at the 4H fair ,, ^_^^_^^_^

badcat or should I apologize for bad pet jokes and not being able to type ?
Pretty bunny either way though ^_^

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

None taken, hes not for eating though. ;) Neither is his mate. I try not to eat anything that has papers on them. Lots of fertilizer. LOL Behave yourself

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Badcat I knew it was a show rabbit ,, I see the show once in a while , I don't remember or know the names , except Angora and that category being really popular at most fairs and shows ,
I have usually been a city dweller , so I don't get to see many
I really enjoy the little miniature rabbits, pink eyes , and bows for shows ... , First time I saw them I thought ,, wow , something I had not seen before ..

Oh, and before I forget , I do not like the taste of Rabbit ,, so one more vote for your show friends staying safe . lol

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Badcat- Do you show them? We used to raise several breeds of pedigreed rabbits, particularly Holland Lops and Mini Lops. My daughter used to show them.

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

Nanny- Honestly we got them to breed for meat/fert/pets for the boys. However he has 3 legs (hold the jokes J LOL) both are from GC's and I plan to keep showing him, Doe is unshowable. 1st show is on the 19th of April. i always had rabbits growing up but never showed them. So Im getting educated before I get my sons into it.

Hope someone put carrot seeds in that Robin! ;)

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

I always enjoyed the people that we met at the shows, especially the Nationals. It is a great way to spend quality time with your family. We had a few GC's and lots of legs along the way. Are you showing at an ARBA sanctioned show? I miss those days.
Springtime was always a busy time for us with sometimes as many as 25 does expecting around the same time. It was a lot of work but also fun.
My daughter's Holland Lop Dexter, became a GC. Dexter- He was so funny and sweet. She would put a harness and leash on him and he would walk around the show area like a puppy. He was always a big hit at the shows...Mr. Personality .
She would put her nose up against his cage and he would give her kisses through the wire. They were best buds! She also showed in 4H and won GC at the Ky State fair one year. We had a great time and I am sure you all will ,too. It teaches them a lot, not only about responsibility, but also sportsmanship.
My daughter is grown now with 3 children of her own, I hope when they are old enough she will get back into showing with them. I wouldn't trade those years for anything.

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Badcat, I could have sworn your rabbit was a figurine...maybe he just plays one on TV. What's his name?

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

Nanny- Yes its sanctioned, in Benton. Last one around here until Aug, then theres a bunch going on. Dexter sounds like he was quite the character LOL. Cute :) My kids are pretty young still, atm my oldest is in charge of food and water. Kind of funny to watch him get his little step stool to reach the faucet and fill the water bottles. Hes too young to show with 4H but I think he can do the fair. Need to check the rules. I took him with me to the Show in Bloomington to pick them up, he had fun and learned a bit. :) So chores for now, then Ill start teaching him about holding, grooming, ect. Hope your daughter does get them into it :)

Mipii- LOL No Figurine. Had him on a table to keep him from running. ;) Hes just a camera ham. No real name yet, but his nick name is Stud Muffin. Doe is named Darius. Are you excited to get the Robin!?!?!

Oh man, that's cute learning how to pet nice. Nice markings on that Stud! I am excited to get the robin, this is the second round for me (you'd think I'd have enough seeds but nooo). You must be excited too as next inline!

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

I am excited :) This is my first time. We moved here almost a year ago from the UK (4yrs living there, Im from MI originally ;). I dont have a lot of saved seeds to share, so I got a lot of commercial seed to put in. My beds are pretty empty atm LOL. My basement is a jungle from all the veg plants and daylily seedlings. Spent all last spring working on the house so the Garden beds didnt get a lot of attention. This year its all about the outside. :) Very excited for this year!

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Nothing like a new garden!~

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

You stick with the Swaps & you will have so many New plants
JUST Remember to look up the Plants or ask someone here how they grow in their Gardens if they are an INVASSIVE Plant Like runners under ground Be safe & Put them in a Large Container , Reseeders are some times easier to pull out.
Watch out for Mints, & some AGASTACHES Also .
Good to have you Join us .

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

I can imagine your excitement, so much promise. You won't be disappointed with the robin, it's a great way to start. I kind of did a re-start too. I spent many years traveling and have finally started staying home more. I love my home, there's no shortage of things that need to be done. I also help other people garden too...so many seeds, not enough summer...ever!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Next year I will try to do a better job of labeling , I did not realize the without the printer ,the way it would go ,
Robin , From other thread , I don't know if those variegated catgrass seeds grow true or not , about saving them ,
Their in there (the robin) From Burpee's is where I got them . I wont grow that many , a couple of those seeds is all it takes to have a couple plants .

I really need to learn to label , properly . The peppers it takes more than it should of the seeds ,, Somethings you get great germination from others
not to good ,,
Always that way though ..
I will work potting up and planning this week , next week (week after I get to start most (I hope) of my plants from seeds .

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

I'm gonna try a couple of those cat grass seeds then. I suppose the neighborhood cats will eat them, hopefully they can survive through the occasional munching. I've got a soft spot for anything variegated. Thanks for sharing!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Their are green ones in there also , Sooo check the label ,, I will walk around for few minutes once in a while , hoping I labeled them right , lol I believe it said something to the effect that the cats were not attracted to the variegated ,,
I think I typed in something like that earlier ,, lol
Well ,anyway their easy to recognize , look like oats .. (the seeds )

I'm sure I labeled them Catgrass ,green , Catgrass Variegated ,, their both growing well here now . I have to move them away from each other to see how they pollinate ..
Hopefully in a day , you will have them , if not , Monday ,, depends on traffic , (I've heard that someplace ) ...
I have a Tomato plant trying it's best to push it's up . Taking a little time for it to reach up . Sitting there arched still .. My little seedlings are seeming to do that a lot this time , All right with me , They get big roots that way ..
After tomorrow , and cold again it begins to get nice ,, if it does I will pot up the salvia , , the catgrass , a couple of Marigolds and begin to set them outside in the daytime .
I want to see if I can easily do a few hundred Zinnia .. I have some we little tiny Snapdragons now also , I'm not real good with those ..

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

I am partial to variegated plants ,too. I have a tall red geranium that has variegated foliage, and this year I have some "Firespray' tulips that have variegated leaves, they are about 3" tall. Planted them last Fall, so I have never seen them except in the catalog. I am a collector of unusual foliage. Last year I bought a Phlox that was called 'Shockwave' and it has variegated foliage.I got a few seed, but not very many. Hopefully I will get more this year and I can try growing them.
Juhur, I think I got some of your Variegated Cat Grass seed planted. No sprouts yet.

Checking in!

Looks like all is it should be every body. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help/make the process easier. ;)

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

Hi Amanda, yes mother we are all behaving, lol!! How is your new job going? Hope you have had some time to decompress, you hard working woman!

Nanny, I'm with you on the variegated and unique foliage. I am nursing along some fish peppers whose leaves AND fruit are variegated. Can't wait to see this trait on the leaves but none yet. Also I have some horse crippler cactus seeds if you want them. Just let me know and I'll pop them in the mail for you.

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

The seeded bird has landed in Michigan! I'm gonna make an earnest attempt to get my chores done and peek through my breaks.

Lol, scrap that, the chores can and will wait (that was an executive decision).

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

hahaha Yay Mipii!!!!

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

The chores can and will wait! Lol! I can't wait til I get to dive in as well!! 😄
