CLOSED: 2014 Spring Round Robin Seed Swap

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Sounds like a plan to me!

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

Think Robin is elbow deep in that..probably wont hear from her for awhile LOL

Becky- I think you had ghost chilis? How are they doing?

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Well I need to get myself out to the greenhouse and transplant some seedlings. I have Opal Basil , Coleus and Polka Dot Plants coming up everywhere! Those all self-seeded. No telling what else is out there that I haven't found yet! Also Lobelia or Pansies, still too small to tell for sure. Things just pop up out of nowhere, sometimes.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Next week , week after I will try and start the Basil and the rest of my vegies , Takes Basil a long time to set good seed here ,

Robin I was surprised I was almost fixated about the seeds , I seldom get that way ,,lol
Enjoy that , (hoping not to Jinx) Hey , It was delivered right when they said it would be !!!^_^

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Sorry guys, been busy looking at the mountain of seeds. I can't believe how much you all have shared, I'm overwhelmed at your generosity. Ju you did a great job labeling! So many choices, such limited space. Alas, one can still dream...

...and my chores still wait.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Robin, I hope you are having fun! I know I did! Lots of choices there in that box. I had a tough time choosing, because there was so much. Don't worry ...the chores are not going anywhere, lol. They will be waiting on you.

Kiowa, CO(Zone 5b)

Amanda...did you get your d-mail? Just wondering...thanks Kathy

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

Badcat, they are still small. Haven't grown much since getting first true leaves. I think they could use a heat mat, but they get put into the garden soon anyway so oh well. I am def getting one for next year though! Or fabricating one of those rope light, pea gravel heat trays for a seed starting shelf or two.

Oh nanny I wish I had that problem of plants just popping up on their own! This was a fun spring though, watching plants I had forgotten about come back to life with the warm sunshine. Lol you say the chores will be waiting..

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Becky, the chores are ALWAYS waiting, lol. I have been outside inspecting the perennials for signs of awakening. Several things are just now beginning to sprout green leaves.Lots of Spring bulbs are coming up. They will be blooming soon. It is finally looking like Spring around here! I am excited!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Perennials outside Nanny , walking around Feverfew is green , Centaurea Scabiosa is greening
To grow , Those things last year were a nightmare to germinate . Ended with one plant , growing near the onions .
I was digging out places for Zinnia Salvia and the like , Finding out today I am seriously out of shape for digging and the similar .lol
Lots of Daylily sprouting ,A few bulbs peeking up ..Three or four weeks I can have onions and Garlic from the garden ^_^
Then about the time I plant Tomatoes , The Tea weeds Take over .. Taste awful , but their good for me ,lol A balanced Liver is a happy Liver ,^_^
A Healthy Heart ,is A Happy Heart ^_^
Silly me LOL ^_^

Prescott, AZ(Zone 7b)

Nice Pics! Dhd I am excited for all of us, it has been such a LONG winter! It did get cold enough to frost last last, I hope it didn't get the new growth on my plants :(

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

Yes tell me about it, I can't escape the chores, try as I might! Lol

Outside my sages, salvias and mexican petunias are reemerging so quickly you could almost see them move! All the daylily roots I planted have come back up and I wonder what color they will be. They were gifts from my gardener buddy who knows how much I appreciate cast-offs. Pretty much all the things that were there in the fall have come back to say hello again. This year I might experiment with some more annuals, hopefully with some help from this Robin! 😄

I have so much to do outside (and in, but again that can wait), I'm whipped just thinking about it! Good day all!

Iowa City, IA(Zone 5a)

I'm getting excited! Yesterday was the first day it has been sunny/warm enough to work the beds! I feel normal again.

Aside from a renewed grudge agin the squirrels that dig my iris rhizomes, my winter blahs have mostly lifted. I never did winter sow. I just didn't have the chops. The snow and dismal skies were relentless.

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Weather's a little warmer here too...bring it on! Badcat are you ready to receive a flying bird bearing spring gifts?

brainerd, MN(Zone 4a)

"We" are anticipating a nice blast of Snow for April Fool's Day. NOT funny mother nature.
It was beautiful over the weekend, and today should get to 60...snow tomorrow :/

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

I'm sending the bird tomorrow and will dmail you the tracking #.

Had to do some house re-wiring on the weekend...I didn't think you all would've appreciated me roasting the bird with a house fire, so I did the responsible thing (safety first)!

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)

Bahaha Ok Lady, Ill be looking for her. Sending smoky the bear your way!! ;)

Ok was just wondering. Ill prob mail next Friday.

LOL Just Kidding, Ill mail tomorrow morn on my way back from the vet ;). Ill pm ya the tracking #. It looks like a stuffed turkey. :)

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Lol Amanda, you took a page outta my book! Hope you're having fun...how can you go through it so quick...aren't you gonna keep anything? The most time consuming part for me was to take a few seeds and make a new label and baggie for each.

Gee I feel for you guys waiting in the wings for the first time. The anticipation is killer.

But, sooo worth the agony.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

I think the best part was just seeing how many different things there were in the box. The hardest part was trying to choose which ones to take. And like Mipii said taking a few, and labeling them is quite time consuming, or it was for me.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Next week I will start (or give a good try ) a few of all of these . From the Robin ) My Haul ..
I don't like telling on myself ..
but here is what I did ,, uh huh (big sigh ) confession ...lol
Yes I still need to learn to type properly ,,good grief ...^_^

SPWD (Becky) ,, It will get to you ... I couldn't imagine about waiting though ,,,oh my , oh my ..

BELLEVILLE, IL(Zone 6b)
