Me too!!!! My youngest grandchild thinks my hands are road maps!!! She will trace the veins and tell me a story as she travels along.... LOL

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

How cute is that!?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

She is a sweetie. She is only 6 but is now in competitive gymnastics. Last Sunday she won her first blue ribbon for her age class on the balance beam. The future looks bright for her and very expensive for my son!!!!!

Grandkids are grand!

Too cute Barb, sports sure know how to eat up a families entertainment udget.

Glad Bill is feeling better Joyce, sure was a scare.

Can't believe in all those shops LindaKay you were unable to find the fabric you were looking for..wonder if I would have a better chance here.

Still snowing but wind has died down

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I went to several shops and they had very little yellow fabrics. What they did have we're too dark or too bright.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

LK Check out "Subtle Skies" by Faye Burgos for Marcos Fabrics. Design 2937. There is this yellow and a lighter one....

http://www.marcusfabrics.com/cgi-bin/fabricgallery/gallery.cgi?Category=727#.UuaeS7Uo6pq

I bought a yard of this fabric about 4 months ago and I would be willing to share.

Oooooh that is a pretty collection.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I love the softness of it. I also have the piece with the dark blue background and the gorgeous flowers. I'm usually not one for the floral fabrics but this one really appealed to me.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I am drawn to the entire collection even the greens. Trust me I am not a green person at all but this whole bit gets me. I think you're right about the softness, very calming.

I agree that is pretty, but I was looking for a yellow with out a pattern. Maybe like a batik or a blender fabric. It is going to be used for the background of my Dresden plates. I will probably need about 3 or 4 yards of what I decide on.

While you are dealing with snow and freezing rain, I'm killing scorpions and swatting mosquitoes. We had a light rain this morning. Did not do much except maybe keep some of the dust down.

Tony and I spent two ours digging up plants. Mostly aloe vera which is the medicinal plant. There are so many I had visions of bathing in the gel. We also got two big maroon colored ti plants and a big clump of mother-in-laws tongue. we'll start planting here tomorrow. At least Tony will; I may not be able to move.

Feeling more alive than last week which is nice, in spite of being sore.

Cooking a big pot of chicken and rice for the furbabies.

The people we got the plants from have a dog named Gracie. They told me she is fussy about new people but she decided fast that I was OK and should pet her a lot. So I did.

I'm sore already. Hope I can move tomorrow.

hugs, katie

Have read all above, and hugs to all ..
2014 is starting out VERY poorly here.
Found out yesterday that my DSinlaws nephew (her sisters son) was found dead in his bathroom, his wife found him .. murder and suicide are ruled out, autopsy is on Wednesday. mom and Dad were in Calgary visiting their daughter (jason's sister) as she is having her first child .. what a phonecall to receive.
My DSinlaw is also a nurse, actually a Director of Nursing at an area hospital, we feel it could have been a cerebral aneurysm (blood clot on the brain)
Jason has been married MAYBE a year ..
Between Jocelyns brother and mom and now this, I am hoping the THREE thing kicks in!!

May just lurk for a bit, sure brings one a sobering dose of reality !

HUGS

It may begin to get difficult to not just walk out. Will have to wait till I visit Dad 2/10-14 though... using vacation time for that....

Hugs

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mornimg all,

"M" so sorry to hear your sad news, how overwhelming it must be. Prayers for the families..

Mary, what is the worse that can happen if you don't show up?? I certainly wouldn't..if all are being told to stay ome you'd have a good case to go against her if she fired you.

Katie, I'm in awe of what you have to put up with in your neck of the woods, scorpions, I'd be looking at every inch of where I go, terrified..Lordy your dogs are well fed lol
Gracie must smell your dogs, glad she has taken to you

Drats, school bus cancellation but Suzanne is adamant she is heading for Barrie so how can I not..just cleaned a foot of snow off the vehicles, got mine warming up, now if the municipal plow doesn't come and plow me in again with the banks..seems it winter freeze and squalls will never end.

Well, I usually leave at 7:30 but will leave at 7:00, hopefully the roads will have been plowed..
Not to worry if it's too stormy I'll come home

Gab in a bit

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending you my prayers and lots of gentle hugs "M". Also praying the three rule applies for you.
Spent a long time yesterday going through fabrics and playing. Once more I am overwhelmed by how much stuff I packed into such a small space!!!! I'm thinking it is going to be donation time in the spring.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure wish I had my camera with me this morning!

On eight out of my region the roads were clear, red sky, drift upon drift, absolutely breathtaking.

Barb, might have to pack it up for me. Lol

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Betty - did you get the birdhouse block I re-mailed to you?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear the roads were clear. Sounds like it was a beautiful drive!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Marilynn's, hugs and prayers for you and your family. Hopefully, I agree about the 3 s.

Sounds beautiful, Betty. Hope the drifting didn't make it too slippery.

Minus II here this morning. Gosh I want Spring!!

mulege, Mexico

Good morning, all.

I'm p with coffee, getting ready to start digging trenches for our new plants..

Marilynne, I'm also hoping that the threes rule applies. What a lot to be dealing with. You and your family are in my prayers.

Scorpions are rare here. The one the worker found yesterday was hibernating under aa rock. I killed it with my shovel. I have no mercy for scorpions. The kind we have here can give a nasty sting but are rarely fatal. Reminds me of an American man who came limping down the beach demanding a doctor because he's been bitten by a jellyfish. We all looked at him like he was crazy; the jellyfish here have a sting slightly worse than a mosquito bite. He lived. Don't know if he ever got a doctor.

It is chilly here - for here. Still above freezing and digging trenches will warm me up.

When Barry - who is giving us the plants comes back from taking his trailer to the dump we will go up and load it with plants. We may have two trailer loads. Luckily, all re plants that do well here so we don't have to be fussy about planting them. My shoulders are a little sore from yesterday, but not bad. Time for a pain killer and then to work!!

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

How wonderful Barry is being so generous with the plants Katie..I keep trying to imagine your garden design, wish you had a camera as to share! Don't overdo
My uncle gerry got deathly I'll from a jellyfish bite he got in Florida..think I'd want to see a doc just incase

Barb, I'm sure I did receive it, will check my blocks when I get home.

LindaKay, truly a winter wonderland..they were sanding the roads, as long as the wind stays as is it will be a perfect day

Joyce, yep spring is coming, just not soon. Lol

Just spoke to Ann who is at my house today, got an update

ADDY

Very congested, only put on 1/2 lb since getting home at new years
Yesterday she went to the kidney clinic, they were not anxious with anything gong on since her operation, no hernia etc.

Tomorrow she is seeing her pediatrician then off to Bloorview for an assessment, they are concerned she may have cerebral palsy

Then Friday CCAC will make a house visit to determine need for nurses dropping in for a regular visit.

ALEX

Will also be assessed this week to see how he is progressing

Ann says when they are spending time with Adyy, Alex just glares at her, looks at them and starts to fuss

Doesn't take kids long to get a personality does it

Victoria Harbour, ON

barb, on October 26th I posted I had your block

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the update on the twins! Will keep them in our prayers.

Katie, don't you over do it today!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I just mailed it last week!!! This is the birdhouse block that came back to me because you were away and the post office lady wouldn't hold your mail.....If you didn't get it recently then it is not there yet.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well then I shall drop into the post office this evening..

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Wanted to thank everyone for your prayers and good wishes ..
As I had said before, Brian and Linda (the parents,) are living through the hell of waiting for the results of Jason's autopsy, as well as suppporting his wife and welcoming a new grandchild, their daughters first child born in Calgary.
Jason was 36.
Murray is that age, and I find myself in a daze most of the time trying not to focus on the events.
Gordon and his sister are headed for their brother Percys home about 80K east of here tomorrow morning, Percy's wife Sonja is Jason's maternal Auntie.
I am not travelling along .. have plenty enough to keep me busy here with 'things', not scorpions or anything, but stuff that I have committments to.
Sean has been scrambling to catch up with some of his courses at the university, and, is making headway, YAY!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to say HIYA LADIES ^_^
Say, did Betty or Dianne receive my posted Xmas cards .. as in 'Canada Post'?

Off to cook up some rice

Toodles and HUGE GIANT HUGS

~M~

PS, it is freezing here, and, someone has told me that Februaruy will be LOADED with snow ... ummmmmm.. I HID the body !!!

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

It was just posted we will get yet another Arctic Blast the second week of Feb. Gee I can hardly wait.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all
Bath is waiting but I thought I'd drop in for a sec..

Just got an dmail from Shirley, has a computer to post and come say 'hi' but with new format couldn't defend us

She has no idea how often I think of Tubbytee, sure miss his joke of the day as I know many of you do

With all gong on "M" at Christmas I did receive it , was remiss in thanking
You with all going on

Note to self..must be better at that

Will take a oto n the am
Got home and Andrew was here with a front end loader and pushed the banks further nto the gardens..yikes, for those of you who have been here, likely the garden just on the rise from back deck likely will be done in for but must be done

I called him to thank him, told him I'd pay him extra this year, front end loader shouldn't be part of regular plowing..he was most appreciative

Best I run

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Did you get to the PO?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes I did Barb, nothing at the post office

mulege, Mexico

I think I overdid but but I'll recover. We got two trailerloads of plants. Mostly aloe but a huge clump of mother-in-law tongue and two huge clumps of a red ti plant. I separated one of the ti plants into about thirty individual plants of various sizes. Tony was surprised. We got a good start on planting the aloes and pleased reactions from any neighbor who went by.

I worked for an hour or so after Tony left at 11 then took a two hour nap.

Have done a little work in the kitchen and will now feed the dogs and then watch TV.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Tell Shirley we said hello and we miss her. Hope she can find us.
Katie that is a lot of plants. Do you sell them?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

~M~ I will keep the family in my prayers....... goodness, for the parents to be away when this is happening.... they must be beside themselves..
you "hid the body"...... remind me to never tell you "weather bad news" lol

Katie...... scorpions! I'd kill 'em too! Don't over-do.....

Betty - are you taking it easy? Hope so. DO say Hi to Shirley from me.

Karen.... brrrrrrr!!! Arctic blasts are NOT fun...... snuggle in!!

Barb - postal service can be one of 2 things........ terribly slow, or surprisingly fast - Never inbetween lol
