Well started to snow again here about an hour ago. Winter weather warning here now. More inches to add to what we already have. Sun was out today for awhile. Actually got to take the dog for a walk she loved it. Did not want to come home. But her paw pads were starting to freeze. Poor baby. Football is starting I think I will go up and start working on my fairy houses. Have a good afternoon all.
Sweet Interruptions 276: Ringing in the New Year
Hi Linda kay yes they are.He goes crazy when my nephew comes over next door. One day me and my nephew put him to the test.We were playing fighting and my dog grabbed him by the back of his shirt.Needless to say my nephew will not come around my house and my dog knows when he pulls up over next door.
That is a good dog.
What a precious dog!!
Yes, love boxers faces. Nice to know they are aroung. Gracie sleeps most of the time. But barks when she hears something out of the ordinary. She is a good girl.
southgal you have a great dog. was under the impression they are not big barkers ? my friends next door to me have always had boxers . There's is quiet . She told me they are not much of barkers but i m glad yours is
Believe it or not our lab who is afraid of her own shadow barks and growls at people, she is very protective... go figure ?
Cindy my kids and i are so addicted to Sturgis !! We watch Full Throttle Saloon ! that is my dream to go there . Have fun on your rides.
Marion wow that is a tough road trip back, glad you made safe and sound. Hopefully Sue will move closer .
Very cold here the next few days. I got my beer and wine and some grocery. Poor Lucy has to pee in the cold weather.
-15 not including wind chill !!! on monday
well its time to feed goats...... it will take me 20 min to get dressed and 10 min to warm up the truck .... :P
Sure hope you have a warm place for the goats Sue! It has to be hard on the farmers with the frigid temps we see on the news!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Cody, Hooch is beautiful!
No one leaves the house today, cause I say so!!!
I want my sistahs safe.
Barb, thank you for keeping your fat cat! That neighbour's child, you and I know, if his parents haven't corrected his behaviour, will grow up having a police record.
My brother was caught swinging a kitty by its' tail. Grandad sat him down and gave him an earful and told him that Allah will send him straight to hell for mistreating the prophet's favorite animal.
Cindy, thanks for the warning. This might be the year to do that vege garden. I'm glad you took your time to return to the bike, to let your hand heal first.
Nice doggy, Cody. Alex must be happy to have a friend that protects him.
Sue, we had a dog like that. A very timid dog, scared of everything, but has the loudest bark!
Good that you have the necessary groceries stocked!! Lol.. if we're neigbours, you won't worry about the wine!
It must be a memorable cross country drive with your son, Ronna. From Michigan to Tx, how many hours was that? I appreciate your son's dedication in serving our country.
What kind of a dog do you have? Is it too big for a puppy pad in the garage?
Carole, what's wrong with the car? Hope you don't have any problems with it, and it will help the motor, starting it daily in harsh winter, even when you're not using it.
Don't know much about winter care for the autos, but that is one I learnt one winter in Indiana.
Marion, it's time for Sue to quit being so stubborn. But then, the cats must be holding her back.
I'm glad that you and Kim got home safe.
Your team is the favorite to win, Marion.
Next year, with the playoffs in place, will be a very interesting year!
I'm glad that LSU beats the Hawkeyes, and Clemson 'creamed' Urban Meyer!
Pegi.. Sis Kathy... Cookie.. waving here!
Too late LK and Marion. I landed on my rear end., wasn't a hard landing.. but did hurt my pride and my back a bit.
Wasn't wearing the proper shoes with more grip on the soles. Crocs, I learnt are a no no!
Am much better today.
Wasn't on yesterday as I got busy running errands with Kel when he got home. Then, poor guy had to call in sick as he started having the sniffles. That was the first day he took a sick day off since he started working. But he recovered fast enough last night when Saints won!
We are supposed to be in the teens again and with the freezing windchills, we are expecting a subzero temps in a few days.
Everyday, it's spiced hot tea for me. Kel doesn't believe in drinking it to ward off the flu and colds. He didn't care for the taste, and now he's paying for it.
That man didn't get a flu shot at the doctor's Thursday.
Well Karen, I hope when you're ready to head for home,. the roads will be favorable. We'll be praying for a safe trip.

What are we going to do with you Jaye, you don't need to be going out in the bad weather and falling!!!!
Hope Kel is feeling better soon!
Jaye you need to quit falling on your bottom and I need to quit falling on my my knees. I do tend to go helter skelter at times trying to rush...leads to my down fall...literally.
We are waiting a couple more days for the weather to settle down a bit and give them a chance to clear the roads before we head out
Made the mistake of looking at a house here, didn't even go inside and we love it. Head is whirling trying to think of a way to make it happen for us. It is and has been empty for a time, wondering if owners might be interested in renting, with a sale option when ours sells. Worry is if ours doesn't sell in the not too distant future. Darn it,knew better than to pull in the drive.
Apparently you didn't listen to "Mother Nature" Jaye!!!! LK, I think we are going to be forced to go get her and put her in protective custody for her own protection!!!!! Wait, I think we need to get Karen as well as Jaye. There need our protection.......says she who falls down her own stairs. :-)
Sorry to hear Kel is feeling under the weather. I am really surprised there isn't more people sick here with the flux in the temperatures.
It is definitely an issue with the cats for Sue. She can't/won't even go into town to have dinner or to a movie as she is on such a restricted schedule. She needs to have an injection in her spine for the pinched nerve but won't do it as she doesn't trust anyone to medicate the cats properly. I have given up trying just hope and pray she will atleast take care of herself.
Sue, good to see you are prepared. We are off in a few minutes to get a few groceries then we are snuggling down for the next 2 days. Kim has requested a pot of stew and biscuits so I guess that is what I will get busy doing. Comfort food for cold days.
Oh I so hate being the favored team to win!!! I am getting butterflies just thinking about tomorrow night. A friend told me the other day that tickets are going for $1500.00 up....no way I could afford that on top of the airplane ticket and a place to stay. Yikes!!!
Karen, I think you are long over due to move to TN. We needs you closer to us...well me at least. No harm in looking and finding out information about the house. That is how we ended up with our home we are in now. Kim was driving by looking and decided to stop. The rest is history.
Well, I have written a novella so I guess I will go get my other things done. Waving to everyone. Kathy, are you okay?
Alright sistahs.. no need to panic. I have a nice oversize cushion for a rear end.
Marion, wait till April!! I think you'd have enough of me at the chalet! Lol!
You might be wise to bring Karen home with you, as Florida will be the best natural heater for her.
1500 is 'cheap'!!! Lol! That bowl game between Bama and LSU had seen tickets auctioned at double that!! There was one (not even a box) that was offered for 5 thousand one of the Tiger online fan site. If I were to roll in dough, as much as I love the Tigers, tv would be the best way still!
When the pain gets unbearable, you'd get a ring from Sue telling you that she's off to the doctor for that shot.
Karen, you want it so bad, that your subconscious guided you to a Tn. home. Sincerely hoping that God makes it possible for you.
Got chicken and mushroom soup simmering on the stove. No cream, just stock and Asian spices. Kel took a whiff and declared it smells like Mexican. Hmm... the cold affected his smell.
Hey Sue!!! I watch Full Throttle too!!!! We are making plans to ride to Sturgis in 2015 for 75th Anniversary. Sure hope I have my trike by then, my ole tail bone can't handle long rides. I busted it riding with my brother.....he kept going thru chuck holes and one time hit a big one. Well needless to say when I went up and came down my BIG butt landed between the seat and pee bar. The pee bar was twisted rebar.....I could not sit for months, and now any long riding aggravates it
Well so much for the rain....said we were to get rain Tues, Thurs and Saturday, now they are saying maybe Sunday if any at all. So Saturday will be in the low 60's but still warm enough to ride.
Yes we just went out for bfast this morning. Then to get afew things at the market. Im making a rotisserie chicken now, some fresh asparagus and baked sweet pots. Yummy. My hubby cleaned where we park and I did the drive way 2 times today with my neighbor. Heres a few shots of the snow here. Has not quit all day.... more tonight.
Love that picture of Forrest with the rock.
Oh man all that snow is beautiful but I know it is cold.
LK, you used to live in snow country, would you return?
Forrest thinks it's real and wonder why it won't groom him back!! Lol!
Sorry to tell you sistah Ronna, I don't want any of that white stuff. Bad enough I need help when it comes to gardening, don't think I can handle shovelling snow. You are lucky to have a neighbour willing to help.
Cindy, be careful please on the trike. There are inconsiderate riders out there.
Cody, we don't hold back the cat food either!! They are very well fed here.
This here is Marley, an earlier rescue. The only one that looks like a Maine cat with big bushy tail, lots of fur and weighs too much!!! He loves to greet Kel and if Kel don't pet him back, he'd swipe Papa!
Jayegirl, I have to get one first and I haven't even learned the Sporty yet sooooooooo no worries Sweetie ^_^ If and when I do get a trike I am making a bright yellow and purple butterfly flag to fly on the back ^_^
Sure wished we could get some of that snow. People are walking on the lake bed of Folsom that had been underwater for 58 yrs. Finding all kinds of old boat motors, tackle etc. They may even come upon some gold from the old mine
No way I would I return to live in snow country.
When our lake started going down years ago I was still married to my ex. We found anchors, rods and reels, boat and trolling motors, a set of golf clubs in a bag, old news paper vending machines, guns and even an active W WII bomb. When we found the bomb I called the cops. They came to verify then they called the base to come and remove it. It took them 4 hours to get the bomb squad out to the lake. When they got it to the armoury is when they discovered it was still live.
Oh wow, LK! That's amazing, and scarey!!
Getting geared up for our minus degree weather. . . Not happy about this!
Cindy, wouldn't it be nice if you were the one to find some gold?
Kel's been watching lots of gold shows, and I'm about ready to send him to Alaska for some peace.. you read that right sistah.. peace.. Lol!
That's freaky LK. WW2 bomb! What was it doing there? Thought all the WW2 action was overseas?
Did you keep that old vending machine? Cleaned up, that could fetch a pretty penny at an auction.
You're another organised lady Cookie. I'm sure you've stocked up the pantry well for the terrible cold. Hope you didn't forget the kitties' cream.
Stay warm sis.
Oh Jaye you have me so wrong! I an not at all organized! We do of course have plenty of pet food and treats.
It was 0.2 F when I got up, it's up to 0.6 now. It's supposed to keep falling all through today. I'm worried about my garden. Lots of things out there that aren't good with these low temps. I bought a zone 7 plant cause our winters have been so mild, and I brought it inside last night. Glad I didn't plant it or it would be dead for sure!
We're up to 1.8 now.
Stay warm and safe all my dear sistahs!
-25 today
got cabin fever
Cindy i was thinking 2015 also :) gonna save my pennies for the trip.
I hate falling down stairs ! i have done that also at my house. back porch gets slippery from rain
basement steps are short and i have missed a step going down . ouch !
I wish i was at Cookies house ! then we could bare this cold together :)
Yikes on the bomb !! LK.
I M SOOO BORED!!!!
Years ago they used to practice bomb runs. The lake is man made and was not here then. So I guess they were out flying and practicing bombing, and one did not go off?
Amistad Reservoir (Spanish: Presa Amistad) is a reservoir on the Rio Grande at its confluence with the Devils River 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Del Rio, Texas, USA. The lake is bounded by Val Verde County on the Texas side of the international border, and the state of Coahuila on the Mexican side of the border. The reservoir was formed in November, 1969 by the construction of Amistad Dam to provide flood control, water conservation, irrigation, hydroelectric power, and recreation to the area. The dam and lake are managed jointly by the governments of the United States and Mexico through the International Boundary and Water Commission, which was established in 1889 to maintain the border, allocate river waters between the two nations, and provide for flood control and water sanitation. The name of the dam and lake is the Spanish word for "friendship". The lake is also referred to as Lake Amistad.
Kathy, that is not good! You need to stop hurting yourself!
Gadget is so pretty, what is on his collar?
This message was edited Jan 6, 2014 10:33 AM
imeant to say gidget, not gadget. I have a shock coller on her because she tried to kill Sammy last week
Oh what a pretty little imp! ;)
That is not good! Hope Sammy is OK!
Linda Kay thats what hooch wear.A shock collar.Thats why he is able to run freely in the yard day and night. The fence is a wire that you put under the ground. It connects to a box that is in your house. The first time they run across it,the collar shocks them.Hooch tried it a few times at first. They get a double dose of the shock, because when they leave out the fence it shocks him and when i had to get him back through the fence it gets him again. It gives them a warning sound when they come to close to the fence.Needless to say hooch as never tried it again.
Thats why people are scared of him and will not come in my yard, because he runs free in the yard and they dont know that he can only go so far.
They sell them at walmarts in the pet department. They are over a 100 bucks.
Now the bark collar does the same thing. It shocks when a dog barks.
I rather have my dog barking though, because he protects his mama and brother.
