Thanks LK and Karen. It was a wonderful evening and then yesterday was such a laid back and enjoyable day too.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you so much LK and Barb for posting those pictures!

Norm looks extra contented, he must have just eaten the bestest Christmas dessert! Lol!!

Any leftovers Cookie?

Thank you Betty, Judy and Katie for popping in!

Now you know I'm gonna spot Dylan right away, right LK? That child grows so fast, you all are feeding him too good! Beautiful pic Sis.

Karen, I'm glad you made it safe. Hope the snow didn't follow you.

Happy Christmas returns day!
Today is NOT a recommended shopping day. Good luck in finding parking space. Shopping centers are hell today not just on Black Friday. I have a sneaky feeling that most gifts were returned for cash if there were receipts. What puzzled me are many will be kids' toys.
I'm lucky to have never been made to que in the returns line. Especially at WM.
So sistahs, I hope the gifts you got yesterday, you all are very happy with them and save you the trouble of returning or exchanging.

In some parts of the world. today is Boxing Day. Aeons ago, the 26th of December was a day slated to give boxes of pressies to servants and workers . Now we'd call them 'Christmas bonuses" if we'd be that lucky!

So, one essential day out of the way. (Do I sound like Grinch?) New Year is next. No cooking plans yet, all depends on what the dentist will do to my teeth.

It's in the 50s now, raining and gloomy skies. Had cooked roast beef last night, just have to get some bread so he'll have sandwiches all day long!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

This was written by Sharon Webb Brown. She posted it on FaceBook. A wonderful poem.

My Christmas wish for you ~

As Christmas draws nearer and minds get all jumbled,
let's pause in our frenzy; be ever so humbled.

It isn't the cookies, the trees, nor the lights,
it isn't the ribbons, not the glorious sights.

It isn't the wrapping, not the gifts, not the food,
it isn't the music, though that too is good.

It isn't the cats that climb into the tree
It isn't the dog that stands and begs at your knee.

It's the love in the eyes of those smiling pets
Unconditional love, as good as it gets!

It's the hug from a friend when we least deserve it,
a smile from a stranger, be sure to return it.

It's the feeling, not the doing, not buying nor baking,
it's the gifts we are giving, not the ones we are taking.

It's the feeling we get when we look around and above,
it's all about caring and friendships and love.

Old friends and new friends and best friends forever
Think of them as you feast and mingle together.

Share the reason for the season, all glorious and bright;
May the love now in your heart fill all your days, all your nights.

Merry Christmas from Sunshine and me!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a beautiful poem.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Indeed, and Sharon wished everyone here a Happy New Year.
I wish I could write like her and Carole here... LK.
Two more gifted writers are Judy and Stacey.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Wonderful poem. Thanks for posting here Jaye.

Well there will be NO going out for this household today. Do need to return my son's new jeans for larger ones......:-( and a dremel attachment that wasn't correct. Other than that, we are chilling out, relaxing and being thankful for all our families and friends.

Will be preparing our standing rib roast tonight as we treated to a fantastic dinner with Charles and family yesterday. Still to stuffed last night to want any thing.

Trying to plan ahead to see when Kim and I will be going to visit Sue.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Smart decision there Marion. Staying home and getting a good meal ready. Lucky you don't have us living too close.. we'd be at your backdoor in a jiffy!
I had thought that perghaps Sue might spend some of the holidays with you? If you're going there, I'm sure Kim will be baking something marvelous for her aunt.

Got a HUGE box from one of my Singapore sisters today. It was opened by the US Customs, and they proudly let me know with a huge custom sticker stuck on it.
At least nothing inside was destroyed nor robbed! Smells like home when I opened it. Fish crackers, a solid pound of cardamoms, instant foods, a lovely purple cardigan and a Mariah Carey Christmas cd. Postage was 125! I'm lucky this time.
Once a printed 16 pound box came to me with only a packet of seasoning (1 oz.) in it. No statement as to what;s removed. I know my sisters never send me any fresh meat!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

How wonderful that you receive those special packages from your family overseas. My brother is currently in Thailand for the winter. He loves to travel in that part of the world.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Was a nice Christmas for us. DH was able to enjoy it, and on Christmas Day I fixed him a plate of turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravey and he ate every bit of it. Later on he had a piece of apple pie with whipped cream. Most food he ate since Thanksgiving. We spent the day with friends and it was a very warm day too. One weatherman said it was a tank top and flip flop Christmas. Temps in the low 80's. Next month, if all goes well, I'll get to visit with my sister from Mn. She and her hubby will fly into San Diego and stay at my younger sister's in Fallbrook. Looking forward to that. BTW, the elves never did come by the house to clean up, so guess that is what I'll be doing today.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

That's about the temperature it was the first time I was in CA which was over a Christmas vacation a long time ago.

Enjoy your dinner tonight Marion.

Pegi, so glad hubby ate a good meal. Maybe you need to cook more turkeys for him.

Loved the bubs kitty video.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lil bub has certainly blessed its' human slave!! Wow, what determination it has!!

Carole, your brother made the right decision. Thailand's temps are nice, beaches lovely.. food's good and the US dollar certainly stretches.
Coincidentally, Maria, the one that sent the package, just returned from a short stint in Bangkok with her daughter and son. She said that Anita spent all her $$$ shopping for college clothes! Lol.. girls!!

Pegi, that's awesome that Darwin has an appetite for Christmas fare. Your sister will surely not miss the snow.. ask Karen! I'll take flip flop weather anytime!

I think the elves must at be at LK's or Sis Kathy's!! lOL!

Christmas morning started out badly, I have to say.......
I called my Mom to wish her Merry Christmas and a staff member answered - said she's not feeling well, and the ambulance was there to take her to the hospital.
Checked her for UTI (nope), then a stroke (not obvious, giving her an dye test to see if it's a stroke), and will give her a spinal injection to see if it's meningitis. She's been admitted, and has gone from being disorientated and confused, trying to remove her clothing, etc....to getting antibiotics and looking normal.
She's now recognizing people, knows it's Boxing Day, and is being kind again.
She said she wasn't well yesterday and was having terrible nightmares of being barred in..... maybe that's why she was removing her clothes - felt trapped?
Anyway, she's having coffee by the spoonful, ate a hard boiled egg, and is having proper sleep.
They are going to check to see if she has meningitis (on the brain/spine?!).
They won't release her to the care home until they're certain of what it was, and that she's well enough to go to the home.
I was very scared for her......... she's not in my city - she's in Winnipeg. Lots of family to look out for her.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Praise God that your mum will have plenty of blood relatives to check on her! Certainly, I'll say a prayer for her.
Sounds like she may have had a small stroke Susan, her brains aren't getting proper blood flow for a minute?
Keep us informed will you?
((((((Hugs)))))) Susan.
