Sweet Interruptions Christmas 275

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Marion that is just as illegal as a too rowdy party until all hours. Time to ask and if that doesn't do it take action...call the law.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree with Karen, we have noise limits here after 10:00PM.

We are off to get out tree and get it decorated. Where has the time g one!

Marion have a good day with the little ones!

Sue, I have not heard of the shooting, so sad. Must turn on the news and see what happened.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I know Marion it's hard to fuss at a neighbor, but let's face it, they are certainly NOT being good neighbors anyhow.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

You said that right Karen. His wife is on the BOD for the Homeowner's and he acts as tho he is "entitled". Informed me the other day my fence was 6' over his property line. NOT!!! Dork is the work we use for him. Did have a chat this morning and will see what happens next. Also talked with another close neighbor who is on the BOD and he commented he was very aware of what is going on. So we shall see.

LK, I plan to have a wonderful day.....anytime with grandchildren is wonderful.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I have a neighbor who called Public Safety every time she didn't like something we were doing. Trash can had to be out of sight after they were emptied, but we were the only ones she targeted. She must have had Public Safety on speed dial. Complaints are few and far between now since her husband retired. I smile and wave at her when I see her outside, although I would like to punch her lights out at times. LOL Hope you get this resolved soon, Marion.

I'm sending some sunshine. we have had some nice weather. Wish I could order this weather during the hot summer.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Gosh I guess there are benefits to being all alone here in the woods. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Brrrr............ Barb gal, you must have sent some of those 20s over here yesterday. I kid you not. News said it would be the 40s in the morning, but it wasn't. Again, this area was overlooked, Kel skidded on ice when he walked from the driveway to the front door. He landed on his hands and I think he'd be taking advantage of the pain, not doing anything around the house for the next few days.

I had a self imposed break from all media. The bug took away my strength, and all I did was sleep, drink and sleep again.
This must be the cheapest medicine for me, I'm feeling much better now.

Sue, I haven't turned on the telly for days, and I'm with you. What are the kids thinking nowadays? An end to one's life is the final solution, and there's no return!
Go have some fun with Cookie, looks like she too needs a girl's day/night out!

Hey Cookie, will your kitchen be busy for Christmas fixings?

Susan, we've not been negligent in praying for you and Bob. Hope that mess with Walmart clears up.

Hi Thunder!! Got your beautiful b.house block, and your work is exquisite!! So sorry you'll have an empty nest for Christmas, but the reunions will be made much more sweeter when you see the grands!! Malena and Riley won't be letting you nor Dave go for sure.

Sis Kathy, how are you feeling? Don't go crazy trying to come up with a complex menu for Christmas nor New Year. Take it easy this year. Your health is still not up to par.

Pegi, it will be a wonderful holiday season for you with Darwing given off from treatments. Hope your kids will make the effort to see you both.

Karen, who is that beautiful little girl in your avatar?
Cat tree? We have bookcases lining up the walls, and they sure don't need a tree!!! Why?? We had a mini tree, and they still insist on using the bookcases! So we removed a few books to 'fit' them, and Kel built ledges to extend the window sills!!

LK, are you through with your Christmas list? This year, Dylan will be ready for a battery operated toy car I'm sure!! Oh my.... watch out Grandpa Todd, pretty soon he'd want a hotrod!!

Yes Marion. Before you decided to violate your neighbour, please do give us a call first, so Kel and his cousin can be there!!
That's a shame when people abuse their influence to get their ways. I thank God we're not under scrutiny from any boards! If not, there'd be complains for sure on our cats and 'meadow' like gardens!!

Had a fantastic lunch today, first real meal in days. kel was relieved that he's being served cooked food!!

Stay warm sistahs. It's raining and in the 70s now........... go figure!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Jaye, That is great granddaughter Noelle who will be three next Tuesday. She looks like her very pretty mama who is not only pretty but a sweetheart as well. My DGS Rory did well in choosing her.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

She's a doll!! Her high forehead must be an indication that she's smart as well Karen.
Rory and his DW will have a tough time chasing off boys!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Quiet reigns again in the neighborhood. Of course the fact it was pouring rain yesterday and drizzling this morning may have something to do with things. Huge pot of chili on the stop as we are still in the mid 40s. Not a complaint as it does feel good after the warmer humid days.

Kim will be busy baking cupcakes for the faculty party today so there will be no need to have the heat on downstairs. Just going to enjoy the smells coming from the kitchen.

Enjoyed Abbigail's birthday party.....a really neat little craft cottage at one of the farms around here. Those attending got to make Christmas ornaments and stencil canvas bags to take home.

Jaye, do take care of yourself......we needs you!!!!

Waving to all...need to go check on the cooking and maybe sneak a cupcake.

hi sistah's
i m very sick. 102 fever. throat is killing me. Had to cancel my date with cookie :( uhg. hopefully we can hook up the following week before christmas.
kids will be out of school for two weeks.... i hate school vacations ! stuck inside with two kids is not my idea of a vacation of any sort !
yes sure i could do arts and crafts and do the good mommy thing but when your my age and been doing the mommy thing for 23 yrs ...... honey them days is gone ! LOL i may do some baking cookies with the kids and some art and crafts ....... that will entertain them for ... ??? 1 day LOL
slept most of the day
back to bed for me

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Get plenty of rest Sue, hope your feeling better soon!
Honey and lemon mixed is good for sore throats.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

god morning, waking up with a cold. Christmas dinner? bah humbug, eat peanut butter

the children put on a Charlie brown Christmas in church yesterday. when they got to the part where they told the real meaning of Christmas, there wasn't a dry eye in the whole church. even the pastoer had tears.

good morning
Thanks Lk i will do that.
just darn out yukky and kids are home with another snow day ! uuuhg.
well better go lay down again

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

It is yukky out, but it won't slow me down....have dinner out with some girlfriends tonight and going to two of their houses to see their Christmas decorations. Have some errands to run before hand. Tree still not decorated.

Made Mamie's Million Dollar Fudge this morning. Hope it sets up. That's a whole lotta money down the drain if it doesn't!!!

Tomorrow is GDO (girls day out) with Christmas exchange and Thursday and Friday I clean houses. So far...shhhhhhh....I don't have anything slated for Saturday. Maybe I can get the presents I need for Sunday put together! If I don't have the tree decorated by then, that might happen that day, too!

Okay, off to get the presents ready I need for today. Just not enough hours geesh!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sue, so sorry to hear you are sick. Do take care of yourself. If you were closer I would offer to take the kids and they could do arts/crafts with my 2 granddaughters. The youngest asked me the other day if I was going to babysit them so their parents could go shopping. If I was, would I be bringing my "magic Grandma craft bag" again. Nothing special just some Christmas decorations we do but they call it my magic bag. Does make me feel good for them to ask.

Cookie, be careful in that yucky weather.....we needs you and besides April can't be far away, can it?

Kathy, really? Peanut butter for Christmas? Honey child, that will stick your innards together!!!! I will take an apple butter sandwich instead. Not sure what our menu will be this year but being home with both of my children and 2 GDs will be enough. I really miss mom but it is also nice being with brood.

Off to get some more things done.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

ok, peanut butter and apple butter sandwiches. is that better marion?

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Peanut butter sounds good to me. Going to bake some peanut butter cookies. Brother needs some comfort food, peanut butter is very good food. He is getting a pail full for Christmas.

Going to have some very warm days, then predict rain. Rain is good, my sweet peas are growing nice and green. Some seeds made their way to other spots, but that's OK. I should have some nice blooms in the spring. Got some shopping to do today, maybe this year I will be ready before the big day. Just once I would love to have everything done and have a day off.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Jaye, for your prayers - much appreciated!
I just got back from my Dr app't - Knee specialist.... apparently I'm to have a cortisone injection on January 2nd am.
I’m not a candidate for knee replacement. And, the torn meniscus is only slight, while the Osteoarthritis in my left knee shows a widening of the space between the (joints?) and is getting worse. My right knee is fine, but obviously the fall in April 2011, and then another in July 2013 really “worked it’s magic" on my left knee.
The Dr said, maybe in 5 or 10 years, I will need a knee replacement, but not now.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Much better Kathy. Now don't get me wrong I will eat peanut butter in cookies or Reese's cups but not a sandwich. I know, I am weird!!!!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

well, I guess we are really having prime rib. I gotta cook for christmas

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, hope you get better soon. May Austin and Savannah never get what you have. Perhaps one year, you could borrow Marion's Magic Bag!

Enjoy your little Christmas soiree' Cookie. I can imagine you taking notes on what to do with your own tree.

Susan, if you don't need a knee replacement now, hope the cortisone shot will ease your pain.

Pegi, I read you on getting things done! Sounds like me getting easily distracted and can't stick to a list! Lol!!
We'll just call our dilemna "Marionitis".. you know.. that ADD thingy!!

Kidding Marion!! Kel and I are happy that Winston won the Heissman trophy.
My late granma used to keep her grandaughters (including me) busy, by teaching us how to sew little hankies. Poor lady, she'd keep berating us on our rough hemming stitches and kept trying to explain the importance of fine needlework!
Maybe that's why she didn't bothered to teach us tatting! But I did graduate to her old hand crank Singer.
Your grandkids are so lucky!! That's a double bonus there teaching them crafts.. besides the love, you get to keep your mind sharp!

Sis Kathy, nothing wrong with peanut butter on Christmas when you're ill.
Make it fancy with warm cups of chocolate. Please be good to yourself.

Waving to LK...Barb.. Carole... Karen.. Thunder..

Nothing much to say for myself, got rid of the bug.. and now I'm struggling with increase pain in my legs. Have been trying to do a little craftwork, and all of a sudden my hands won't co operate.
So it looks like more rest for me! He he he!! But I got a bottle of White Concord wine to drink my pain away!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Are you saying I have AD...oh look, there goes a chicken!

Actually Miz Kathy, I think Kim and I will be having prime rib also. The Juniors usually have Christmas dinner with her dad and his new family. No big deal as far as we are concerned.

Jaye, so sorry to hear you are still fighting some bug.....white concord wine should do the trick..hopefully.

Yeah, we were pretty pleased that Winston won the award. Now if we can just tame Auburn things will be great.

arts and crafts are always more fun with grandma's and other people LOL . Thank you Marion for the kind words.
I feel a bit better.
Jaye hope you start to feel better soon .
Have fun with the girls Cookie. :)
Prime rib does sound good for christmas. I think i was out voted on ham though :(
i love dipping peanut butter in Nestle Quick LOL oh so yummy
Susan Hope the knee shot helps and can give you relief

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't think that just because you're feeling a tad better, that you can start returning to your supermom mode, Sue!
Take it slow.. don't want you to have a terrible Christmas.

Might go into Myrtle Beach just to purchase a rib roast. I'm not terribly eager to return to the German restaurant, but we've agreed on this tradition.
So.. goose, then prime rib on Boxing Day?
His brother's coming down for Christmas and will bring Ida to her SIL's dinner. That's one tradtion I don't want to return to.

No plans for gift giving this year. Gonna be having dental work soon and you all know that will be painful to the pocket without any insurance to help me. Since I still have a couple of good teeth left, I want to be able to smile!

Gonna try salvage some sausage dressing that had dried out in the oven. That's the reward I get for trying to cook while trying not to aggravate the legs.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Still snowing. Got 6 more inches through the night, and then the plow came and buried my car. Took over an hour for hubby to dig us out. a bit warmer though, up to 19 today.

Thumbnail by siliolegma
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Goodness Karen! I saw that on FB, but didn't realise your car's being buried while the plow's clearing the road! I do hope you're not getting any more of that white stuff.

Since we're having odd weather, we may just get some snow too.

Look at the Mid East, first time in 112 years, snow has returned to Cairo. Some would say it's an omen.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We live past the end of the road, we have a circle that we allow the plow to use to turn around, otherwise he would have to back up over 1/2 a mile, in return they clear snow in the whole circle. Plow driver is really considerate and does try to not bury us but when there has been a big snow, he's in a big hurry and it can't be helped.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Waving back at you Jaye and all. It is warming here and will be in the 60s within the next few days. We've had no snow thus far. That makes me happy. Makes the three cats happy as well. Too long in CA, I guess, made me forget all about snow. I think we had it all of 5 times, if that, in 40 years. :)

Hope your holidays are merry and bright.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

What are you all up too?

Cindy how are you doing?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'm catching a cold, and fixinto get my nails done. I broke one

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Start taking vitamin C for that cold. I got my nails done yesterday. Real pretty sparkly red for Christmas.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

:)

i have been writing on my second book idea. been up since 5 am.
cold out but not as much snow as Karen ! wow you all get lots of snow.
off to get my hair done. to much grey.
feel a bit better
throat not as soar
stay warm everyone

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

You too. Hope you can get those books finished soon. :)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Can I preorder a book Sue? ;-0

I am not sure there is enough color now to remove all of my gray.....oh well, maybe next year.

April can't be far away!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good day everyone!

No sign of snow, temps are still erratic. It's in the 60s now and tomorrow it will be in the 50s, but weekend, my plants will be out to enjoy the 70s.
I've never seen such a confused weather since I've been in the U.S.

Carole, I'm wondering if you have any kids.. grands..
Are they all in Ca,?

Last time I had a manicure was back in Singapore LK. Bet your nails are super strong and pretty! Love to paint my nails red, too.

Sis Kathy, bundle up! Try not to be out in the cold. I do hope that Michael is healing well.

Give us a hint Sue. What's the book about?

Lol Marion!!! Aunt Clairol can't perform miracles on stuborn gray!!

Kel suggested that I make mini burgers for all the cats out there, for Christmas! Might just buy a bag of Armour's meat balls!

Anyone doing anything special for their furkids that day??

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I have my doors and windows open, no bundling for me today. got may nail done a bright red
Michael is hard headed, instead of doing nothing I came home and he is extending the back porch! threatened to tell the dr. on him, but he didn't listen

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I can't believe Michael is doing that following a hernia operation. What does he want, to have it done over again? Men!!!!

Ah fingernails painted a bright red.....do toes count? My nails are so short from the few days I manged to get to work outside that I don't think they will recover anytime soon. Do like having my tosies red tho. :-)

Absolutely, positively we are doing something for our furballs for Christmas. Galena, the elder stateswoman, is going to be put on a diet.....1/8 of a cup of food instead of 1/4 cup. The black and whites are getting straight jackets and the Mau is getting Prozac. I think they covers everyone. Seriously we do have stockings for them and they will get toys and treats. The Mau might still get Prozac!!!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

IS IT APRIL YET? I'M TIRED, AND SICK OF TALKING TO MICHAEL WHEN HE DOESN'T LISTEN

gadget just ate a push pin. I hope it don't turn
