Baton Rouge, LA

Just jumping in for a bit...
HUGS ALL !
Dianne... "Don't sweat the small stuff" was a saying from my DAD so I SO enjoyed hearing it from you...
M... Mom passed with Pancreatic so prayers to you my dear and your friend....
Betty Jim is a very special soul... HUGS...
The business is doing okay... HUBS found some major $$ under the cash drawer (where I TOLD him to look last week ) and that may answer SOME of the missing money LOL
Just proves we are so new to this.
I am finding it hard to work the "paying" job ....

I really need to do a cost analysis on our prices... will be a focus .....
Hugs
Mary

Mornin ^_^

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr .. way cold here .. about -20F with the wind blowing at a quick pace from the north.

Katie, I so hope your ankle improves, any chance it was a 'hairline fracture' that isn't repairing.
Have you tried (can you get) BioFreeze? It's a topical gel that really works on releiving pain.
As far as the ants and mice go ... OMG!!! We get them sporadically in the summer (ants), and, mice tend to pop up sporadically as well .. our Westies (terriers) are noted for sitting at the dryer waiting for a mouse to present itself, once it does, YAHOOOOOoooooooo .. out comes the broom and I am flyin on it LoL .. in other words, TRAPS are my best friend, cuz 2 terriers running after a mouse in the house is a hairy canary situation LoL

Betty .. hope you're feeling ok today, your snowflake sounds lovely .. and, I hope Santa brings you the soldering thingamee :-)

Mary, YAY on finding the $$$ ...

Lorna and I are off to the gym and to have a swim (hey, that rhymes), may pick up the fudge makings as well .. have to see how we make out in that wind ..

Take care everyone

It is a cool 36 here this morning, but no moisture.
I d on't think I could go for a swim, with your temps M. Brrr, that is cold!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, well lordy it's almost afternoon

Mary, omg how wonderful you've found most of the $$$, sure hope none of the staff felt like you thought it was them..guess you want to be playing at the jelato store vs doing your high stress job..perhaps one day

"M" kitties are always on the hunt for mice but I don't see them, let's hope the mice are wise and don't want to take a chance of taking up residency here.

been painting in the snowman workshop, soon done and another year's commitment done..always worried that the participants don't enjoy the workshop but do my best.

Suzanne and Lenny dropped in this morning..took my 'to do' list to town and will drop what purchases I needed back on their way home.

wanted to make another snowflake for Sharon, was going to drop it off when I go tomorrow but looked through my supplies and no silver backing foil..guess if I want to do it I'd best take a drive at 3pm to the stained glass studio

I'll post a photo once I hang mine but in the meantime this is what it looks like..see how the soldering is dimentional..looks pretty

wish I had glue chip bevels though

Oh Betty, those are beautiful!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Very pretty, I'll have to take a pic one day of my one and only stained glass project. I made a hot air balloon for my daughter to commemorate her first flight. I really enjoyed making it but figured at that point I had myself spread pretty thin so let the glass work go.

Verona, ON

Love that irrid glass Betty. I haven't bought glass wholesale since 2005 Betty so I am a little out of the loop re suppliers. Almost 100% of the bevels come from offshore so you might want to go online and peruse for them.

Susan I hope you and Bob are keeping warm and out of the snow. Man you are sure getting an old fashioned winter so far.

Oh Mary I am sure your mind is almost completely on your new business. Hard isn't it juggling ? Warren taught for 7 years while I ran the SG business by myself. It was hard on both of us so I understand what you and Lance are going through. One year poor Santa Warren left the farm to start school in Toronto on Labour Day weekend and because of shows he didn't get back here until Christmas. poor guy! I always teased him I was going to pin on his shirt when he left a note what city and hotel he was going to meet me at the next Fri. night. I have no idea how he taught FT and then ran the shows for me. Being a true member of his family he was a superb salesman
Friends that are exhibitors at One of A Kind were not too thrilled with the late night last night and the lack of sales. Their feet must be hurting today!!

Barb and M sending prayers for your friends. May they be made as comfortable as possible as they live out their days.

Okay, I'm late.....but I still want to say BETTY! You better get your but to the surgeons office for a consult!!! Okay, so you are going...okay...feel better now!

What's a glue chip bevel? LOVE the snowflake, Betty, wish I could have made the class with you!

Lots of snow here...made turkey noodle soup and now I'm going to go make an apple/pear cobbler. Hope it turns out!

So glad that Jim is finally standing up for what he wants. Please let him know that we're all praying for him.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

BRIGHT sunshine hand in hand with COLD biting winds from the north are making our day 'quick', and, the wood supply dwindle a bit ..
Coming out of the gym after a swim and shower .. with damp hair, I could almost feel my Mom beside me telling me 'NO NO NO' !!! She's always in my days, but, most especially at Christmas time ..
Anyway .. Lorna did a GREAT workout, and, she (we) made it in and out of the pool without incident, I'm sure more than a few people hold thier breath when they see us heading in to swim .. mostly it's the getting out of the pool, they 'club' has NO lift .. but .. we ARE wimmin, and we CAN think through stuff, and, we have ^_^

Betty, the snowflake is lovely! Crafty you ^_^

Easy supper tonight as Gord is off running a firearms safety class ... loves doing it, no monetary reward involved at Christmas as he has had it donated to his favourite charity.

Hugs to everyone, prayers to those who need them ..

Stay warm !!

Well absolutley no sun in Michigan at all for three days. Its pretty gloomy. We need some sun please. Betty your snow flake is so pretty. Can not believe those are homemade. How long does it take to do that??? Mary, thats wonderful you found some of the money. Must be a huge weight off you shoulders. Well busy weekend this weekend. Going to a huge arts and crafts show sat and shopping with a great friend on sunday. Will be nice. But way cold! Hubby is getting ready for work.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We have been getting some sun in Northern MI. Comes and goes though as does the snow. Darned cold too for the next few days.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

And which grand is your avatar now Karen?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

This is Rory, his b'day is next Tues. He's the daddy of Noelle and married to April whom I love very much.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It is nice getting to know your family like this!!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - take care of your pain, please?!?!?!?!
So Glad that Jim "put his foot down".... what a wonderful, caring man!

~M~ I got your Christmas card in the mail today - Thank you!
Katie - "our buddy's" Christmas parcel was mailed today - should take 7 business days, they say - I insured it, just to be sure.

Went to a Senior's lunch & gift exchange today. I made some whipped shortbread for one present, and put a small tin of 3 "nesting" gingerbread man cookie cutters in another present. Bob & I both went, ate like crazy, and enjoyed the senior's band that played.

Tomorrow we pack "Christmas baskets" for shut-ins, then make sandwiches for a funeral in the afternoon. I'll make mine ahead of time, then we just need to cut them. Our choir is singing "In The Garden" for the funeral.
It's a sad time of year for 2 of our members in the Church - one losing her husband of 70 years, and the other - losing a grandson.....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Awwww thanks Barb. I do this in Facebook too. That way no body has to get tired of seeing my old mug. LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi everyone!!! i have dislocated my elbow again, we had a visit from Winter storm Cleon & got 3" of sleet then 5" of snow, then they plowed the road and I had a brainyiac idea of going out to check on the mail, I slipped and fell right on my tailbone, which didn't hurt at all so thank God for big butts, but I smacked my left arm on the ground and it dislocated. It hadn't healed right from when I dislocated it in June so maybe it'll heal right this time, this is the worst dislocation I've had though. I'd go to the doc but can't get there and I don't have insurance yet anyway.

Debbie congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sucks you were the last to know but the reason is understandable.

Jean my prayers are with your family and I'm sending my condolences.

Betty my goodness girl you are going through a lot. My pryaers are still with your family regarding Jim, you don't know how much I hate to hear about that. I agree and think your mom needs to go into some sort of assisted living, she has too many health problems to live alone. My great grandmother on my mom's side and my grandmother on my dads side lived in this senior apartment building, it had all the amenities of assisted living Except for they had their own apartments, so they didn't lose their sense of independence but at the same time the food was prepared there if they wanted to eat there, they had parking for each tenant, and I think this would be perfect for your mom. They even have people come in to check on them if need be.

Gotta go, my elbow is killing me. Love y'all!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Morning all I am up earl even tho its my day off. I never can sleep in. Thats fine. Busy day here. Very cold in lower west michigan only 18. Little dusting of snow. This time of year at work they carol in the halls for the patients. I joined them yesterday it was fun really gets you in the mood for the Christmas season. I enjoyed it. So did the patients.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

owie owie Crissy !!!! sure hope it gets better fast !!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, I sure hope you heal quickly, but it sounds like you broke it the first time. You need to see a Dr.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Morning from the frigid north of Canada .. a BALMY -35C outside right now.
DH is off to teach his class and I held my breath as I watched his truck groan to life .. I offered him my car all snug and warm in the garage, but, nothing seems to beat a man and his truck !!
Am wondering how many will show up, since they paid for the course I think they'll be there.

Jeeze Crissy, the elbow is a real difficuly bone mass to deal with .. for it to heal properly it should be 'set', and at least wrapped or casted, gotta be painful .
Your weather made CNN this morning ..

Kids are due over today, maybe, I know I want to wrap gifts, have to start sometime.
Doubt it'll be a gym day .. had my chemo last night and feel like a sack of doggy doo doo right now.

Oh Debbie, you need a pair of slippers, so those broken pieces of glass don't stick to your feet.
Love those craft ideas. Did you do all the wood cutting?

M, guess I missed that you have/had cancer. So sorry. Chemo treatments are not nice! Sending prayers your way!

Sure seems to be a lot of cancer in Canada lately! Is there something in the water?

Lyndonville, NY

I didn't do any wood cutting, only painting and staining.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Those are really cute Deb. I like primitive art also. Enjoy being DONE!!!!
Hope your foot is okay with not too much damage.!!!! Those darn cats......

Those are " in the middle" projects. I didn't get final pictures before she loaded the truck.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Debbie .. love the Christmas trees and Candy Canes, actually like everything ^_^
OUCH re the glass in the feet .. hope you get it all out ..

LindaK, I haven't got cancer (thankfully), but, I have 2 kinda bad kinds of arthritis .. the cancer drug 'methotrexate' is used to try to decrease the speed at which it destroys bone. In my case, the arthritis (psoriatic) pretty much ate up my right hip .. so far the drug is working .. and I just have to put up with the 'blahs' after taking it on Fridays. Low grade headache and nausea are the worst, but, they'll be gone by tomorrow ..

I guess Betty is driving Jim's sister to visit him for the day .. I sure hope she's OK .. supposedly snowing down that way.

Have put a small dent in the house cleaning, guess I should sally forth and try and do a bit more ..
Lorna took over the laundry, bless her ^_^

Glad to hear you don't have cancer but that arthritis can be bad sometimes. My Sister was just diagnosed with it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all

Just got in, had bath/meds and am covered up on the couch watching the tree turn!

When I left at 6:30 this morning it was blizzard conditions till almost Barrie..almost turned around

Hard day watching Jim become weaker by the day, couldn't believe the difference in one week.

Oooh wasn't there 10 minutes before he yelled out telling mom to stop it, I even said enoughs enough mom..to the point just looking at her gives me bad feelings.

Jim slept most of the day, did manage to sit in a chair while I used clippers and cut his hair.

I let mom and Dorothy (Jim's sister) chat while I made soup..Jim managed to eat a bit of it.

I also brought a kit and tools and sat and made Sharon one of those snowflakes..she loved it.

Sorry I didn't get to spend some time with Sharon..just got there and off she went..had to meet up with the man who shows her dogs, show in Tampa Florida..she was so disappointed she couldn't go..guess it was a 4 hr round trip for her..she could hardly walk when she got in. As soon as she got in it started to snow so I didn't want to take chances..glad I came home when I did.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear Sharon's back is still bad. Has she seen a Dr.?

Betty have you tried a chiropractor for your back problems? They can realign your joints and release some of that pressure! I see mine at least once a month.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Glad you got to see Jim Betty and also Sharon ..
Such stressy times for you.
Our cold snap continues .. not only is the woodstove burning away, but the furnace came on too!

The kids were here for the afternoon, just left, have a couple of pics ..
Such a busy family !!! Can't keep up ..

Almost time to cook supper .. best post and run ..

Love the family pics "M" Love your mugs on the top shelf!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Love all the photo's

I do love it when you all post photo's!!

"M" bet you enjoyed their company..good looking family you have there.

Debbie, I love the primitive pieces..keep this crafting up and you will be able to have your own booth.

LindaKay, Sharon needs fusing in her back..she lives in constant pain...one of these days she'll not be able to put it off.. Surgeon says likely she will end up in a wheel chair..that is why she wants to sell her house, move closer to me..build a home which has but 1 floor.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Are those Toby mugs "M"???? Nice looking family you got there. That glimpse of Grampa sure looks like a fantastic Santa to me!!!!!
Been a busy day here between laundry sewing and food shopping. Norm is off to Maine again tomorrow and won't be back until Tues night. Now with most of the housework done, I can sew while he is gone. I've been making those microwave bowls and they work out great.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can you share a photo Barb?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Barb, what are you using inside the bowls? I hope you are all set and won't be venturing out with Norm gone. Tell him to please be careful with the weather that is plaguing your area. It has cooled off today but it is anything but nice.....dreary, damp and grey!

M great looking family.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Sharon should get the back DONE sure helped my Hubs!!!!!

I hope it is quite only because you northerners have no power, and I hope it comes back on soon.... (meaning I hope all is well, odd no one has posted)

I can't believe I am here before anyone???!!!!

sending warm hugs ♥♥♥

time to go get ready for work, It has been crazy busy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

19f, brrr cold, crispy kind of cold

Calling for 90% chance of snow all day, good day to play elf and finish some christmas projects.

Just weeks left, can't believe after starting in January I still am at it but not like other years up at 3 or 4 and working till midnight so some mprovement right?

So what are you all up to today??

Rona what a fun thing to do, bet the seniors enjoy being part of Christmas festivities!

Crissy you must be hurting..how are you managing work? Will you be travelling to your dad's for Christmas? You are much closer to him right?

Debbie, went back and looked at the primitive pieces, love each and everyone of them but especially the snowman face.

Waving to all, santa's worshop awaits me!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder, it's a winter wonderland out there, just too bad that storms taking out hydro/electricity has to be part of it. Can imagine how busy it is for you at work, on lumpy going to get busier..do you have time off this Christmas? Kids coming for a visit?

Still undecided what to do about travelling south..drats and more drats

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

-35F here
The hydraulics in the aluminum door have quit, the door just slams, skeered the bejeebers outta the dogs !
They were out and back in in record time, both in front of the woodstove now ASLEEP!

The TOBY MUGS are DHs 'thing', he collects them, has about 25 .. but, I do think Royal Doulton has stopped making them .. I take them down 2-3 times a year and givem a bath .. wouldn't believe the stuff i find hidden (and forgotten) in some of them, nothing earth shattering, just stuff put up there for safe keeping, then neither of us can remember where it was put!!!!

Our hydro is still OK, but we just have cold temps, no freezing rain/wind .. will be heading out for gym and swim in a bit. Will for sure take my car as it's in the garage.

Guess I should mosey on here .. go to FBook and play my 3 Scrabble games ..
