Thanks everyone. Glad to be here. So I went to the doctor today. For not sleeping and aching joints from head to toe. When it hits, it hits. Hurt all over my body. Anyone else have trouble sleeping?? I mean I know alot of it is cause of being a woman. Sometimes I can not turn off my brain. But other night I lay there kind of in a "lumber" sleep but not really sleeping. Hopefully the blood work will find something.
So is everyone done with your christmas shopping? I am pretty close. Have to see what I have now. I want to get a tree maybe tomorrow. Not sure. Going to my moms for dinner on Tuesday . Well have a great evening, Ronna.
I have to say this about the no-sew fleece blankets..They are fine for older children and adults. I would be wary of them for pets, littler kids, and seniors. The tie strips can stretch out if pulled and cause entanglement. I have had personal experience with this happening. I usually buy the kits to get the co-ordinating fabric when on sale and then place two right sides together , sew around leaving an opening , then turn and top sew around edge. Makes the same nice warm double blanket but no danger of entangling in the ties.
Almost all of mine Karen are for teens, I've never encountered that proble. Will take it up under advisement though re younger children..for them I usually do rag quilts..love my fleece throw, kind of my stress blankie.
Ronna, omg we have the same problem, this old brain just doesn't want to turn off..that being said last night was the first full night of sleep I've had in ions. Sure hope they find the reason for the aches.
As for Christmas, Santa can come to my door early if he wants to, just a piece of clothing for each of the grandsons for the stocking and done..shouldn't have been a problem considering I started Dec26th
It might have to do with the quality of the fleece too. I'd bet the better quality fleece wouldn't be so prone to stretch out. I really debated saying anything but I do know they are popular, I would feel so awful if there was an accident.
I saw a problem also with a store bought quilted baby blanket. You know, the ones quilted with nylon thread. One of my grandsons was still quite young when sleeping covered with one, he suddenly started screaming. I ran to him and his little fingers had the nylon thread wrapped around them so tightly I could barely get it off even with scissors. His fingers were blue and the marks stayed for a long time. Ever since I warn about them often. The problem appears to be the bobbin thread. It seems to break easily leaving the nylon thread hanging loose. That nylon is very strong and if it gets wrapped around tiny fingers it cuts into them.
You really have to be on alert don't you Karen!
Not so sure having no babies around how to child proof the house and whet to watch for when purchasing gift items
Thanks for alerting me, I need that.
Just had a call from both mom and Sharon
Doctors told Jim today that there is absolutely oohing they can do for him..guess they don't want to give approximate times left to live, nobody can be that accurate.
Pain and nausea meds still aren't under control so not sure when they will discharge him. He wants to go home for a bit, have no idea how mom can handle it but even if she tries and finds it overwhelming then Sharon will take over at her house..
I will try to drive his sister to the city on Wednesay, not sure how long she can stay, likely have to pick her up on the weekend to bring her home..guess it depends on what the next few days brings
Big sigh
Keeping you and all your family in my prayers Betty. Seems like you are really getting it all at once.
Sorry to hear that about Jim. Sending prayers.
Thank you, prayers are appreciated!
Melanie just left..Lordy I was ready for bed at 7:00
Who shows up but Melanie..last night she finished her rag quilt so tonight wanted to do a Christmas sock..ended up doing the 2 she wanted to do and was thrilled with end result
I started to laugh as she left with one sock, said Mel where is the other one, she pipes up, leaving it here so I have an excuse to come back tomorrow night
Told her I will soon start charging her ent!! Lol
Ritamp, she finished the sewing of the binding on her placemats, she will work on hand sewing in the evenings, now 1/2 way done her other rag quilt..
Craft room sure looks like santa's workshop.
Glad to see you busy Betty but don't forget to rest too!!! What would all these want-to-be sewers do without you? Once you show them how simple some of these things are to do, do they ever get their own machines and do it at home? Or is it the companionship of doing these together that is more important? That is what would matter to me.....
Morning everyone! Sending prayers with you today as you go for test results Betty.
Wooo Hooo .. we have S N O W !! and lots of it.
At least a foot, with 2-3ft drifts, Lorna is out with her plough givin it !!

Barbara and Linda Kay. Sure hoping you both are feeling better.
I posted a picture of my visitor...my brother johnny and char came to visit!!
And then Jjulia came to hello and she and David gave me an early early Christmas present...they gave me a baby!! Not a human baby but, lol.
Lets see if this picture takes...it doesnt even fly yet here we go again.
So introducing Petrie!! It is a Dusky Conure...
AWE! Congrats on the new bird Judy! He is so precious!
Morning..
Thermostat says it's -4 but I didn't feel the cold, could almost count the flakes that are falling.
Thanks LindaKay, as for the test results am sure it's much the same 'you are bound to have aches/pains, you are getting older'
Barb, about 3 or 4 christmas's ago I bought Melanie a really nice sewing machine seeing she was showing interest in sewing..it's at home and working well but she's enjoying Rita's company and of course I'm there to help her out with her projects
This sewing party seems to becoming a ritual lol every night about 7pm it's downstairs we go
Oh my gosh, Petrie is adorable! I love that name (Petrie the baby tereadactal dinosaur that couldn't fly!) SO happy!!!
Off and running to work, can't wait til Friday for this craft show, last one and am done. Might say "do not call me" in the spring!!!
Prayers for all today, love the Mrs. Santa!!! Betty hug Jim for me, adore that man! AND will be there with you at doctors today.
OMG was on a telephone call, forgot to press 'send'
look at all the chatter in the few minutes I was gone
Needless to say Judy I'm smilling from ear to ear..what a perfect gift! Was Skittles a 'conure'
how happy you must be! Not often your brother comes to visit, he must have known you needed hugs. You haven't mentioned Steve's mom of late..how is she doing?
"M", you make the perfect Mrs. Santa
what day do you take over her 'task list'?
Please don't send your snow..have to travel to Toronto tomorrow re Jim and don't want to contend with bad weather.
Debbie, if you get a chance can you take a few photo's of her sale items..know they are primitive, kind of things I like
Judy, thanks re house decorations, even though I'm not in the 'spirit' of Christmas I feel I must at least decorate.
Just got off the phone with Darlene, she was so looking forward to me and Rita coming down to visit for 2 weeks at Christmas and now..just not sure what I will do
OMG!!!!!!!! Love your new 'tweeter' Judy .. Petrie is a great name, ENJOY.
Will try not to send this horrid weather your way Betty, we have to go out in it in a bit and I am not happy, but, an appt is an appt, and, we all have 4x4s .. well, cept for me, I sit in the back of a sleigh for the month of December LoL
Toodles
~M~
hope you don't catch a cold sitting in a sleigh..hope it's stationary and indoors.
working on the last 2 fleece blankets..got to go on the hunt for big boxes..need about 8 of them
Thank you! LOL, Deb...your right. lol, Petrie came to mind the second it was put on my shirt front!
I looked down and said, well aren't you just the cutest little Petrie, it climbed up and gave me a kiss..melted my heart in that instant. Julia and David have been visiting it in the store and I guess, they were about to ship the babies off to be sold, so they decided I should have another bird.
One day at a time Betty.
I do hope the weather plays on your side. We've got a rainy dreary kind of day...
Thanks for asking about MIL, she is doing all right. Actually quite well. Now that she is on the right meds she is able to move around alot better and she dropped a ton of weight, so that helps too.
Well, I am glad you still decorated, think I'll do some today, it may brighten my mood and put me in the Spirit.
Although working hard on my Christmas pressie has me humming some carols as I go!!
Yes, Skittles was a Green Cheek Conure, my house was so quiet this past week, I was feeling so lonely, without her, as you know she was just the smartest little ball of feathers....LOL, Petrie already makes the kissie sounds, i figure people must have asked for kisses when they visited.
Mary, sure hope the register comes out to the last penny from now on...So glad that you love your employees already, thats a pretty good sign!
Oh gosh, a big misunderstanding on the work front and the manager had an out and out temper tantrum, Roll my eye balls, not very professional and really made all of us MAD...Well, hey everyone makes mistakes, and I know he said somethings that should not have been said!! One of those things was He doesn't care about us and our personal lives...He also basically threatened each of our jobs, sigh.
It's made me think pretty hard and i've decided that retail is just not my cup of tea. I love what i do, however, I don't feel as though I'm doing what I was actually hired to do...i'm pretty fed up with this game.
..yep, I am searching for another job, They certainly don't pay me enough to deal with this craziness and i totally feel "used and abused" both by company and clientel...
I dunno, I haven't seen him since the incident, so well see what happens today. The one nice thing is I've got all my tests except one done. I've had exrays, and still waiting on results to the bone density. All other came back negative, so i am relieved and grateful. i have to have an MRI on my shoulder exray came back clean, so have to look deeper. I got my new glasses and now just go to the dentist and i will be caught up with all the wellness visits!! Have a follow up visit next week.
So that has been my busy, busy side...Did start my Christmas shopping! OMG, found some flannel leggings, I love them so i got each of the girls some!
well, not a whole lot to tell, just working like mad keeping crazy hours and trying to keep house going.
ROFLOL, decided i don't like working anymore.
Ok better make some tracks her, lots to do before work.
Breenie is playing with Petrie, already gave it a bath.
Hope you enjoy the day.
Welcome, Ronna. Sorry about all your troubles. Hope things start looking up for you!
Petrie is so cute. Can I call him Pete? He's so adorable makes me want one....oh no you don't! 6 cats....that's an accident just waiting to happen! You're brother is a real cutie-pie, Lil injun!
Betty, I'll be so anxious to hear what you have to say after your appt. this afternoon. Praying hard for good news there. So sorry to hear about Jim. Is there any chance at all that he could go to the cottage for a while? Mom will probably be a basket case. ((((hugs all around)))).
Christmas party with Garden Club tonight. I'll be collecting the last of the Secret Sister papers and passing them out for next year. Should be fun. We have 15 signed up to be there. Dinner and a gift exchange with the Greed Game. Fun, fun!
Waves and hugs to all!
Hey Judy. I don't think I would work there anymore und under those circumstances. Be strong and fight for what you want.
Have fun at your meeting Cookie.
Love the new baby Judy. He is so adorable. And kisses too!!!!
Thinking of you today Betty and keeping you and all in my prayers.
Love the Mrs. Clause "M". You will make a great one I'm sure......
Had lunch with my cousin who ordered the Christmas table toppers. She was really pleased with them. We had a nice time catching up on things.
Having lunch tomorrow with one of my quilting friends. And then it will be in the house for a while as the weather is going to get too cold for me to go out. Even with the 02 the cold takes my breath away...Darn....
Stay warm Barb.
Thanks LK. I must admit I like living here with heat as part of the rent. I can have it as warm as I want!!!! Can't go anywhere but I will be warm!!!! LOL
Hope things are settling in for you Mary with no more problems.... A Panini would taste pretty good right about now!!!
Mmmmmm love paninis!!
Road trip to Baton Rouge?????
Pick me up on the way, Barb!!!
Waiting for update Betty
Oh Barb a road trip to see Mary and fill my tummy sounds wonderful. I wish it was that easy!! We should have our own I Dream of Jeanie app here on DG.
M you look adorable in your Mrs Claus outfit. You will have a blast Christmas Eve. I would gladly take your snow over our forecasted freezing rain. I hate it with a passion. At least with snow you can still get around. Your lunch with your former cohorts sounded wonderful. A few years ago we had a reunion of all the consultants in my office back in the early 80's. We met for lunch and closed out the restaurant that night. Yep a lot of yakking went on.
Mary I hope you got the short figured out. Having more than 1 person on a register is a recipe for disaster. We had that problem when I was at the IGA and made for some tense moments some days. The LCBO had an outlet at the IGA and 1 day when I settled the till they were short over $500.00, All the LCBO employees worked off of 1 till. It wasn't until I watched the video survellance tape I realized 1 of the gals was not voiding her sale when she made an error. She made several mistakes.
By now Betty you should have some answers from the doc .... I hope. waiting anxiously to hear if you have some rellief from pain coming up.
Loved your pics Judy. Couldn't help but notice in the background of the pic with your handsome brother there was a great stack of wood. Do you split by hand?
Betty I can't remember if it is W or Th you are going to To. One of a Kind is open until 11 pm on Thurs night. Those poor exhibitors!!!
2 dogs with leashes in their mouths so I best get a move on.
Dianne
Evening all,
Soooo much trauma re Jim..I'm torn between Sharon/mom and everything..just finished gabbing to ith..sick to my stomach..Jim is going to Sharon's in the morning, I have no Idea how that will go..don't feel I'm carrying the big sister load..wipe a tear, no wipe a bucket or two..
Went to the doctors expecting arthritis or whatever..
Get in and he says 'not sure you are going to like what I have to tell you'
Hmmm, ive been in so much pain of late wouldn't have surprised me had he said I had bone cancer..
Said my sugar has to be watched, not bad right now but something to keep an eye on
Then he asked me to look at his screen where the X-ray results were...pointed to the word 'severe'
Another hmmm, looked at it and he said I need both hips replace..excuse me, I've no trouble with my hips, pain and pressure in the back yes, but hips no
I said maybe he was looking at the wrong X-rays, said come check the screen, pointed at Betty Payze, date of birth, address and said, recognize who this person is??
Said no, hips are fine, just the extreme pressure in the back..he said to imagine a stick, that I was bending it at both ends, where would I see it breaking.
Said I had osteo and that I need to be cantu pious lifting, turning etc etc etc
Put up his hands and said shall I make the appointment?
Nope, don't think it's my hips
Told him I'd call when I can't endure the pain..told me I'd kick myself for putting up with the pain when it's an easy fix
Told Rita when I got home what the findings were, she thinks because of waiting list I should put my name down, see specialist to het his thoughts if I can wait or not
Told me to be very cautious lifting, dong stairs etc
Still not fizzing, don't believe it
Oh Betty .. nor did I believe it, for 2 years, then I ended up in a wheelchair for 3 months, almost praying for death (sorry to say that, not being unkind)
I would AT LEAST go to the specialist .. who knows, it might buy you time as the specialist might try a cortisone shot or physio.
Having been there, I have to say I am glad I had it done, even though, as you know, I was Canada's BIGGEST chicken LoL, NOW, I'm 'Mrs. Claus' LoL
Oops
Someone at the door
~M~
For someone who is so great about helping others you sure don't seem to give a darn about yourself. Well, Bessie, if you won't take care of yourself for you will you please consider doing so for us???? How are you going to get to the craft room in a wheelchair for heavens sake? At least make an appointment with a specialist and get another opinion..... We NEED you to be here for all of us who want to continue with our annual craft for many years to come!!!!!
We all care so very much about you and want you to be as pain free as possible. Please? Pretty Please??? With sugar on top?????
I am with Barb on that WELL BESSIE !!!! hip bones connected to the back bone....back bone connected to the shoulder bone!!! and the head bone !!!!! makes PERFECT sense !!!!
GO TO THE OTHER DOCTOR !!! and yes I am YELLING !!!! what would you tell each and every one of us??? hmmmm what?? GO TO THE DOCTOR !!!!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥WE LOVE YOU ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Petrie is adorable Judy !! tell those kids I said " thanks, great idea" and give 'em hugs for me ^_^
M, you look fantastic..
Hugs everyone ♥
Betty Dear....WHAT THEY SAID!!!
You are all so loving
Yes, he is closed tomorrow, I will phone Thursday and ask him to book with the surgeon..can always say rpnot right now or can go through with it IF it is as bad as he says..as for osteo, guess I just have to be cautious
Thank you Betty. I just can not picture you not being able to move and do the things you love. You do need to take care of you. Where would Noah and Kyle be without you doing for them???? I know - that's probably laying things on a bit thick but if that is what it takes my dear!!! Yes, we do ALL love you....
Ditto to everything that has been said and more!!!!! It is time now you take care of "Bessie" as Barb puts it. I want you able to visit me in Florida so do what needs to be done and get things taken care of please.
