Debbie, join the 'last to know club'. Alison told HER Mom and sister. and our son Murray knew, but, because Al was having some spotting, they decided to tell Nurse M (me) and Grandpa G at the 3 month mark .. I was excited, but felt a bit of a pinch in my heart !

Congratulations Debbie. This puts you in a special class with your grandbaby........my son and DIL were told they couldn't haven't any children and after 7 years of marriage....behold a beautiful girl was born. They are indeed miracle babies and I am so happy and excited for you.

Did some last minute running around yesterday although I dreaded the Black Friday craziness!!! We left about 3 and it wasn't nearly as busy as I was afraid it would be....guess everyone had finished and were home sleeping.

Going to kick back today and go watch the in state football rivalry.

Hi - Just dropping in to let you know I'm still alive and doing OK. I'm doing some serious house cleaning done. Couldn't sleep last night so I cleaned instead. Productive but not fun.

betty, Jim's sisters are surely stressed about his illness and you showed up in time to set off things that have been brewing. Step aside and act stupid is my advice. DO NOT try to "fix" things. This is what i call a tar baby situation; you need to back away slowly.

Thinking of all of you. Still in pain with swollen ankle but my pain killers arrived and they are helping.

Well, first off my heart is just breaking for Ann and Melissa, as well as poor little Alex and Addy. I was so hoping that both the babies would be okay, but only God has the big plan and we just have to trust Him. Prayers for everyone...

Then, Betty so sorry for the other bumps in your life right now. You are so good and sharing and it seems like life just keeps "dumping" on you!!! (I'd give her the quilt, too!) Betty, it won't be good if it's your kidney with your history. Praying hard that things turn out okay for you. Keep us informed!

Had a wonderful time at Lisa's on Thanksgiving. There were 12 of us. I had already started to thaw my turkey since I thought I'd be having the dinner so that is in brine now and we will be having turkey and fixings for dinner tomorrow. I've invited DMIL to join us. This is her first holiday without her DH, so want to keep her busy so she doesn't get too sad.

Went to a "Holiday Gift Show" yesterday. There were 5 of us. Saw my SIL there and she said watching me was like watching someone trying to herd cats. LOL..hard to keep 5 together! Got several presents and got a couple things for me too!!! YAY!

My box went into the mail on Thursday .. sent VIA Canada Poast, so, am hoping no glitches along the way.
I have the tracking info, so I guess I should look it up.

Up early to go to the gym and then a swim and some grocery shopping. This trying to eat HEALTHY is very expensive, we eat at least 2 smoothies a day, and, bananas and frozen (bagged) fruits are 'mucho pesos', plus the yogurt yadda yadda. Just hope it all works out for Lorna, she is SO excited. Getting her into the pool is going to be our challenge today .. no lift at this place, so, it's her and I and a set of stairs going into the pool, and, her with only one leg .. I'm a bit nervous, but, she can sit on the edge of the pool and slide in, it's going to be the GETTING OUT .. stay tuned !!

Lorna "M" will do fine, she is in physical shape so that is a plus..best she try it and if it's too difficult and she might injure hersel she will know only pools with lifts is possible..anxious to hear how you both made out. Bet your post will be full of excitement for what you both achieved!

Mary, meant to ask, was it $100 even that went missing? You know with being busy and not sure of till system staff could have very easily have keyed in twice, hooe it's something like that.

Was a rough day all around yesterday..my heart goes out to my mom, she is just beyond herself, she is without a doubt worried more about Jim than herself..she is so frail, looks like she is 100

Jim was laughing, getting us going then started committing, I rubbed his back to ease the discomfort then I started gagging and vomiting..Jim felt so badly for me.

When I got home I got further bad news..completely did me in..

Kyle came, he was taking his girlfriend out for supper, looked so spiffy. He just has some sort of system put in his car, said he bought himself an early Xmas present, me thinks he's much like his grandma

Fell asleep right after.

It's not sure this morning what it wants to do, very light drizzle but mild

Noticed there was messages waiting for me so just listened to them..guess with going out to pick up my new machine Friday then leaving early Saturday mornimg, going right to bed after taking pain meds I didn't get to it

1 was sharon, tired of mom running her down and telling stories about her that aren't true, says she is going to give up spending everyday with Jim..guess its something really unnerving so will call her this afternoon

Then a call from the receptionist from the doctors office, asked me to call ASAP to make appt to speak to dr. Re X-ray findings..I already had an appt for Tuesday afternoon so I will wait until then..will call tomorrow and ask if that's ok

Betty glad you calling the Dr. Sounds like it is urgent.
Praying it is nothing serious.

Do you ever get you'd rather have bad news and know how to deal with things vs doctor saying can't find anything wrong

I just woke up from a three-hour nap. Was sound asleep. Guess the pain is still getting to me.

Betty, a couple of days before I was due to have surgery I got an "urgent" message to contact my doctor. I stewed all weekend; when I called they had misiplaced some blood test results!!! Urgent for them can be very different than for us. You have enough real stuff you are dealing with; no need to imangine more.

It's another lovely day here. Cooking rice and liver for the dogs and me.

The time at the gym was a OK .. however, the pool is going to require some thought, I'm ok in and out, Lorna was good going in, but, coming out, shew .. thank heavens there were a couple of other folks in the pool to lend a hand .. felt so bad for her .. but, she soldiered on and ended up going up the stairs on her butt and then pulling herslef out (with help) .. she feels that now she has done it once, she should be ok .. sure hope so.
It was great to swim laps again, my hip is a bit upset, but, it'll calm down ...

Supper is done, dishes too, and I am off to play my Scrabble games, or, do a few more xmas cards ..

Wow this is a great thread seems lik you all have been chatting for quit sometime together. Yes December is upon us. Am thinking of getting our christmas tree bought today. I would love a real tree this year. We are having Christmas at our house this year. Will be fun. Well hope you don't mind me poking my nose in. Believe me we have had lots of sickness in our family this year. My mom had a rare kind of cancer ending up having to have a kidnet removed. My daughter has endemetrious (sp). She had a vey serious sergery and found out her filopian tubes are probably not functioning she was at stage four. Very much pain for the poor lady she is 26. She has to have a shot every month to keep her eggs from forming so the ovaries can rest and heal. Then my husband was sick in the hospital for a week. He now has divaticulitus. Very sick honey. My niece who is 17 was sick for about 2mos with some disorder in her gull bladder. It took the docs along time to find out what was wrong with her. Some complication with her depo shot?? I am not really sure just heard bits and pieces. But she is feeling much better now. Well nice chatting will be on later. I have some erronds to do. Ronna

Dreary dull day here. Lane is very slippery if you are not careful. Steve and I have been into Kingston and back. I just rode along while he picked up some bearings for something he is working on.Was nice to get out for a bit.

Nurses luncheon was too awesome .. there were 22 of us .. most had worked ICU, PARU and sugery way back when, and, 4 of us have hade knee or hip replacements .. all agreed it was the hours of standing, and, the heavy lifting.
It was so good to see everyone .. lotsa sliver and grey heads LoL

Everything looked so pretty inside the house last night, lights glowing slowly to a minimum then maximum on the fireplace mantle, fireplace cracking, tree rotating, star snowman blinking that I sat and forgot for a few minutes all that was going on..actually at 10pm I went outside to look at the lights from the roadside..have to say Rita and I did a good job, did I say I'll miss her when she moves...wonder if the neighbors are tired yet of hearing the christmas carol unit that all the lights are plugged into so they blink in unison with the carols being played..guess I should ask them if they can hear them inside their homes out of courtesy...
