I am still around. I am about 10 pages behind all of you so no way will I catch up. Life is still very hectic here. Have a court date the 11th of Feb. If I get a divorce that date, I will no longer have medical or prescription IN. I will have to get a Med card from public aid and I just hate that. I have always been able to get through everything on my own but not any more. I am so ashamed. Hope you all have nice holidays and maybe by spring I will feel more like talking. LOVE BEV

Can the government not make it part of the divorce that you get to keep your medical coverage?

Debbie .. I am hoping to get the Santa Warren parcel into the mail tomorrow .. so.. perhaps next week you will get it .. have had lotsa fun shopping, great exercise and therapy for me :-)

Had my 4 month follow up with the surgeon today .. all is well and good, xrays show the hip prosthetics in place and healing well .. I still can only lay on it for about 15/20 minutes before I have to go onto my left side, but HEY, last year at this time I could hardly walk !

Betty, did you have a urinalysis done with your tests? It'd show (along with a couple of blood tests BUN and Creatinine) how your kidneys are doing.
Good to hear you are starting to feel better ..

NO snow here again today, threats of it, but, nope.
Took the dogs to be groomed, and, what snow we did have, they rolled in as soon as they got out of thr truck .. gotta luv'em :-)

Its snowing again - it did stop for a couple of hours but it is coming down fast and furious again. It is absolutely stunning outside - wish Debbie was here to take photos. Izzy would love it out there with Diesel and Duke. Duke is totally mesmerized by the snow - it is his first encounter with the white stuff. He and Diesel are taking great delight in climbing up on a huge rock I have out front and diving down into the drift below.

Mary oh Mary I know you are exhausted but how was the open house? Inquiring minds need to know the details.

One of the 2 root canals I had yesterday hurts more today than it did before the procedure. Dang that's not supposed to happen. Have another 2 hr apptment on Dec 16 - 2 days before Doc and Emma leave for a 3 week African safari so I hope there are no unexpected problems.

Worried about Shannon Deb. Will she keep herself resting over the holiday?Ha, ha I know the answer to that even as I type the question. How is Paul's knee?

Barb did you and Norm get this blast of winter too? What are you sewing now? Heard from Thea lately?

LK any special plans for the holiday? Does that young whippersnapper Todd get Fri off as well? I've always wondered about that - do most places stay closed for the Friday as well??

Looking forward to getting my parcel from Betty and starting our project. I also ordered and received already 3 new Doodle Art design posters so I should have enough things to keep my fingers busy and my mind busy over Christmas and New Year's.

M great news from your followup doc's visit. Sometimes we forget how far we have come since our replacement surgery don't we? Sounds like you had a love dinner at your DS's, just you have no leftovers.I love my leftovers almost as much maybe even more than the actual turkey dinner.

What hospital is Jim in Betty? Will he go to a palliative care facility? Thinking of you and knowing how hard today is for you. I know I dread my BD as it is also our anniversary. I just wish for the day to be over from the second I get up in the morning.

haven't been out of the office today, wasn't up to even going for lunch, played with a runner for a bit..think you are getting all our snow Dianne..here's hoping your tooth doesn't get worse and you have to go out in this weather. Guess there are emergency dentists in the area to cover the holidays not that you want to go to someone who doesn't have your history.

Sailor sure loved the snow..she'd be rolling and jumping all the time she was out..bet Diesel and Duke do the same. How is Duke feeling, meds working now

Jim's in Brampton..they want the biopsy to determine what stage he's in to determine next course of action. Not sure why it hasn't been done yet, guess because of his present condition..need to get pain and nausea looked after first

Dianne, thanks for asking. Momma has some medical issues. waiting on appts for tests. and answers from tests already done!!?? was beyond fantastic to see my big brother !! we have text-ed a few times since....very nice to be staying in touch.

sailor boy is doing well, he has some kind of math class that he said he is actually having to work at!! calculus or something?? it all comes so easy for him, I am thrilled he is being challenged!!! as is he. youngest has not yet found a job, and he is starting to be worried. and I think getting a little depressed. :( I keep sending him virtual hugs.....

try not to think of deployment, then I get depressed. I know this one is going to be very hard on Malena !! she understands better the concept of "going away for awhile"
but does not quite grasp how long it could be!!! she has been acting up, mis-behaving more than ever before. I keep reminding her Momma that she is only 4!!! yes she is smart, buttttt still only 4. she has a lot of stuff on her little plate !!!! every time we talk or skype, she asks us to come over, says she " just NEEDS a hug" about breaks my heart.

It will be a strange day here tomorrow. I have to work :( first holiday hubs will be all alone, all day. Last year I work part of the day, and Waylon worked part of the day, so we were both home at some point. this year I am on a full shift, and of course Waylon is not here!!! Hubs said he did not want to do any kind of dinner!! they feed us at work, I am still trying to convince him to come in and eat with me.....

I have been wondering about Mary, and thinking of Thea also....

Lorna and i are doing a 'walk through' at a health club today .. I asked what I could do when I had my assessment yesterday, so will be looking at low impact equipment (lounge chair in the waiting room LoL) I can do the stationery bike/treadmill, and some other stuff. Lorna can do more .. hopefully the person doing the show around is knowledgeble re this stuff.

A fluffy of snow overnight, can be swept away, but, I think Betty got more than that ..

lazy last night, was laying on the couch all cozied in when Melanie came over..she and Rita worked on rag quilts, I listened to their bantering..all of a sudden Mel said, ohh forgot to get out of my jammies, Rita and I jumped in and said that was the attire of the house, she hadn't got out of hers since Monday..wish I could say the same

Sharon called this morning and asked if I could sit with Jim Saturday morning as she has much she has to get done, poor thing she has been there for 6 hrs. every day since he went in..said I would unless a major blizzard blows through

yesterday I worked on one of those christmas ball table runners, had meant to quilt it last night so I could sit quietly and put the binding on it today but didn't so up early this morning to get it quilted..having Tim Horton's coffee then will sew binding on and hand sew for the morning..another gift done for a staff member in Toronto.

My goal this weekend is to get the eagle throw done..what I wouldn't give to get that done!!!!

Betty, we are only going downstate to daughters in Lansing area but she is way out in the country, no internet access. Only about 3 1/2 hour drive and weather is supposed to be good. Do a bit more cooking tomorrow and then our big party on Sat. I'll be plenty busy with 4 of the greats and a few grands to play with. Got them a bunch of gingerbread cookies and all the icing and sprinkles to play with. That will keep them busy while we prepare dinner on Sat.

We are doing alright. The house is just quiet, I keep finding toys all over, so sigh, pick them up and add to her cage. I haven't had a breakdown since we buried her, but just feel an overwhelming sadness. When this happens, A happy thought of her, almost immediately pops in my head.

Today, i am especially Thankful to have had her in our lives for Three years! For those of you who don't know if her, we got her when she was just 3months old. And I am just thrilled that Betty, Debbie, Liz and Thunder got a chance to meet her, and of course, Linda Kay who has not met her in person, but Thanks to Linda Kay, who was my Birdie support line, LOL, heard just about every detail of Skittles life over the phone, rolflol even what kind of poop, if i thought she was sick...Liz too, oh my gosh just loved how you "snuck" her out and let her knit with you, Id come and "catch" her doing the big No-No, sitting on Kenny's head, LOL she took pleasure on sitting on Dave's (Thunder's DH) head too!! sure wish I could post pictures of some of the times...Lots of those are in the old computer. or in my old phone..(big bummer, all lost) So, sweet, As Debbie, Thunder had no problems opening the cage and Helping themselves to a visit!
and i do not ever forget all of you and your support in reading ALL about her, I t really gave me a great feeling to be able to tell you about her antics and vocabulary!! ROFLOL, i have to admit, I only threatened one person, hahah, and you know who you are! If I ever hear one particular word I will beat you silly...still giggling, lucky for you I never had to follow through on that threat. Sorry everyone, i won't tell you the word but lets just say, it's not in 'my' vocabulary, lol...Anyway,

It will be nice and quiet here, just Todd and I. Found out yesterday afternoon that I have bronchitis, two ear infections, and a severe sinus infection. I am on amoxicillin, Prednisone , and singulair.
We are having ham, fresh mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh corn, a fresh veggie tray, and I have pumpkin pie for Todd and pecan for me. After we have our dinner, I always make a huge plate for the neighbor Johnny.

OK, So Waiving hi Linda Kay, so glad to see you too. Yum, your dinner sounds great!! We are making egg rolls with the leftovers!! they are soo delicious and usually we all gather around the counter and create, cook and yum eat them!! Plus its a fantastic way to freeze them for another time!

So, this picture is for you Bev!! Isn't it divine?!!
When we were in Arizona, We went to the haunted town of Jerome...What an incredible ride that was!! It was like riding a rollar coaster around the mountains~!! oh gosh and so breathtaking around every curve.

So there where many things we saw in this little nestled in the mountainside, if i wasn't seeing at least one of there in the form of a piece of jewely, for instance, Linda Kay, Liz and Thunder, I saw the most exquisite Hummingbirt, to the last entirely made of glass beads, Wow....wish i had a picture, but everyone i took is blurred from my shaking trying to get the best shot! We went past a little yarn shop that made me think of Liz again and Betty...Anyway, lots more of those kind of stories, but there is one House with a grand wrap around porch, i thought immediately how wonderful it would been with all of us there!!Yep i have a picture that house! but as we continued in our stroll we happened upon this place and i smiled as Itook in the most beautiful Keleidescopes!!! Overwhelming and woah expensive...Again, I wasn't leaving until I got a great shot for Bev!! so it's simple but smiled with you in mind as strolled through the shop.

Beautiful Judy..going back and re-reading the posts, did so then got 4 calls and all are bad news, so much so I'm nauseated just thinking of all the turmoil in the lives of family and friends..want to go home and pull the blanket over my head.

Isn't it funny Judy, I do the same..in parts of my day when I see something, think something it very often has to do with you all, my DG friends..for all of you I am thankful.

One of my calls was Ann:

Ann said that Abby is now over the 7lbs. which is good, they are giving her something for the 'runs' and guess a lot of acidity which has burnt her entire little bottom end..so much so that the pain is unbearable and due to her crying big time her heart started to give out. Head nurse had a talk with Ann, told her it was doubtful that although Abby is quite the fighter that doubtful she will make it..Ann did not tell Melissa..always best to leave her with her dreams.

A few days ago when Abby was having so much trouble Melissa brought Alex to see his sister, actually set him close to her..no sooner home that Alex who is a very quiet and content baby started to scream/cry, not your regular cry but more distressed, so much so that he lost his voice..still made the motions of crying..Melissa was worried and took him to emerge..they said it could be a virus but Ann seems to think it was seeing his sister so ill and heard her screams of pain..

then got some bad news from Suzanne, not at liberty at this time to say what but her and her family's entire lives will be changed and not for the better

Spoke with Sharon, brother Mike has been giving her grief..Mike's wife has been a rock through all of this but not so much Mike but he'll be the first one to add his two cents worth. Jim had biopsy this morning, they upped his meds..results of the biopsy will be available 3-4 days..only meant to further decide next step of action..mom with him now

Oh Betty, this brings tears as well.
It was my immediate thought as well as i read.
With that said...perhaps he is taking some of her pain away.

Betty, so so so sorry. Absolutely hate days like this when all is falling around you and you are just so helpless to stop it. Hate that some of us can't be there to help with the burden. I know we can't fix anything at all but we could hold you in our arms instead of just our hearts. Tears.

Sure wish I could whiz around and join you all for your Thanksgiving dinner. I swear I smell turkey wafting across the lake.... can't you smell it Betty?

Judy I was so glad to see your post. My sincerest sympathy on the loss of your beloved Skittles. Are you trying to tell us that perhaps Liz or Kenny have blue words in their vocabulary?

As I sit here reading I can't help but think how blessed I am to have all of you in my life and for that I give thanks. This has been quite the year and we have shared all the highs and lows, tears and laughter together. Without all of your support and hugs I know I would have had a much more difficult time trying to put my life back together. I truly appreciate all of you ! Happy Turkey Day!!

Bright sunny but very cold day here. Duke is not too fond of the cold weather but at least he will go outside when it is snowing. Hopefully that will translate into venturing out when it is raining. Diesel doesn't care - he just wants to be where I am. I've been training Diesel to bring wood inside. He has caught on quite well but I swear it takes me longer to get my daily wood in with his assistance.

Debbie Shelmarr is on Queen Latifah. My he is a picnic for the eyes!

LOL M! I'm having meatloaf for dinner so the fowl are safe here in Verona. I love meatloaf but can't see the point of making it just for me so I made up a big batch. Put it into individual single serve foil pans and froze them up.Now I don't hesitate to have a meat and potatoes dinner.It doesn't even matter if I forget to thaw it I can just shove it into the oven frozen.

Toying with an idea for a Christmas gift for Steve and Pam and would like your input please. Last year I gave them $$$s but I would like to do something more personal. They both work long hours so I thought I would make up and freeze some dinner entrees ( like lasagna, Spaghetti and mb, stew), some different types of cookies and maybe some pies. What do you think? I don't want Pam to think that I think she can't bake.

Don't know the first thing about Steve & Pam but I'm betting two hard workers would be in heaven with such a gift. Just add a note that they are for those extra busy days. You'll be thanked and appreciated every time they can have a good meal with a minimum of work.

I think that is a perfectly wonderful idea Dianne. I know there were so many times I would have been so grateful to have something like that in my freezer for those rush days.....And they sound like the kind of folks who would appreciate your effort too. Actually you just gave me the perfect idea for someone on my list!

Opening was great.... First day... we are selling WAY WAY More panini's than I thought we would however we are completely "dead" from 7a=10a in the morning.... I need to promote our morning coffee....

Problem is our chef we hired from Gallatoires will start 12/2 but I need a chef for 4p-7p and sat and sun. DS Brock is learning and can possibly take up a shift but he needs help.


I'm learning a lot. I"m washing dishes on my "Regular j0b" vacation and totally loving it. I have my Santa Warren and just need a couple days to get it out
