Update from Sharon

Rough day....   basically no hope..... metastasized  something abnormal in
the pancreas,  they will do an mri on his head, (suspect to find something)
Once they dissolve the blood clots, they will regulate his blood so they can
do a biopsy... they plan on freezing the area and removing tissue with a
needle.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Got Joann's done tonight, ate, girls out shopping and I in bed

Debbie will post later or early morning re plans, bet they want to be at Khols for 6am
Then to post office then shristmas tree

Don't know I will be able to do much more than that, likely come back early aft and call it a day

Sorry to leave it so late

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just spoke to mom, she seems to be dealing with things as best she can..she and Jim talked tonight, he so wants to go to his beloved cottage for what time he has left but mom seems to feel he will never make the trip. He is in unbearable pain, nothing seems to help right now

Going for biopsies tomorrow morning..

Big sigh

Sure glad that I have you all to gab to

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Sending you ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) and lots of prayers for Jim.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

So sad to hear Betty, I hope he can spend his time where he wants to be. If he can get to the cottage, he can go into hospice care. They are wonderful for easing pain and will make home visits.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Spoke with Sharon..she volunteers at hospice three times a week for last 4 years..said she was wearing her hospice smile today but was finding it hard..Sharon will spend the day at the hospital, mom was told to stay home and rest while Jim goes for his biopsy in the morning..
Feeling bad about not being there with them..mom told me she would need me later to help clean the cottage..will put both up for sale when Jim's gone

Hard to believe, really is

Glad the girls are all out doing their shop till they drop thing..of course I'm restless

Bought 6 'no sew ' fleece blankets, needed extra Xmas gifts..omg sat here and got one done
Keep this up and they will be done before I head home..feel warm and toasty though with it covering me.

Lyndonville, NY

Works great Betty, see you then. I have new car remember Black Dodge SUV Journey.
Go in store if you get there first. I will find you.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sure wish I were in Rochester this morning too!!!
Sending love and gentle hugs dear friend.
You really need to take care of you now so you can be there for your family when....
Keeping you ALL in my prayers Betty

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you and Betty meet up today Debbie. Give each other hugs from Texas please?
Jim and family will be in my daily prayers!

Lyndonville, NY

I am back from breakfast with Betty and the girls.

Ya'll, please please please keep Betty and Jim in your prayers. Our girl is not doing
well.

ALTHOUGH, she was hitting on a man at IHOP that was HOT!!! His girlfriend thought it
was hysterical. THEN, Linda tried to get us all a discount with the IHOP manager! Linda wanted
a different type of discount....and he was "willing to do whatever makes the customers happy!"

It was a good time.

I drove home in snow, was heavier here than there....but definitely is a storm moving in.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just had a bath, hoping I will get feeling back into my fingers

Girls gone shopping, likely won't get back until midnight

I will put hallmark channel on, cover myself up and have a nap

Glad you are home safely Debbie
Your hugs made me feel loved

Emailed Sharon, waiting for an update on Jim

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Holy cow, what a turn of events.
Betty, all I can say is definitely access HOSPICE .. there will be someone in the hospital with the referrals, and you won't believe what can be accomplished !
Jim will not be 'active Hospice' but, more than likely Palliative Care .. witha team to look after his needs.

Good to hear you saw Debbie, and that hse made it home and you are safely ensconced in your home as well ..

I have been going since 5am .. DH and i did the Market, breakfst, some shopping and a craft show .. came home, made dog treats (liver) some cookies, and some pie dough.
Relaxing with some wine before starting supper.

Bed early tonight, can hardly wait!!

Hi everyone,

My friend Maria who lives up the hill from me came to visit today. We went to town where she helped me to choose an antiinflammatory which has helped a lot (she's a nurse). Then we went to the Bay of Conception and anjoyed a beautiful day with the sun sparkling off the blye water. Her two dogs were with us so mine had to stay home.

Think I'm beginning to come out of the depression I've been in. Guess it's time to begin washing the dishes that have been piling up for a week or so. Not sure it's an advantage to have a restaurant size sink outside; I can let things slide too easily.

Betty, you and your family are especially in my thoughts and prayers.

Back soon.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you got with a friend and had a good day.

Katie what happened to your van? I know you said you had an accident. Just wondering how it happened? Is your van totaled?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got dressed and went into lobby to use their telephone, seems their system is not set up for LNG distance

Perhaps I told you that last night?

Can tell mom is exhausted, she spent part I'd the day at the hospital as did Kim, Sharon will stay until midnight or so

Sharon told her Jim is resting well to keep her home but told me he is in so much pain that even morphine not helping

Katie, nice to hear excitement in your voice

"M" you have had quite a day! Hope you are resting

Wonder how Mary is doing?

Girls still out shopping, left at 6am

Betty I'm so so sorry to hear about Jim.... Prayers and thoughts your way. what a wonderful man.

We are opening on Monday... Love to all. Family opening tomorrow.
Mary

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Mary .. all the very best with the opening on Monday, and with today's 'family prelude'.

Betty, so difficult to hear Jim is in such pain .. there are other drugs that we use, but, perhaps they have been offered and he has decided not to take them. These drugs are almost the same as an anaesthetic .. but, when pain gets intense, they are a gof send .. Ketamine and versed come to mind.
As always, my thoughts are with you all, take care coming back today. I had thought you were already home ..

Yep, was busy yesterday here, and SO wanted a 'sleep in' this morning, but, Smokey was having none of that. Had ME up at 6:15am
Poor cat doesn't want to be alone I guess. Maybe I'll catch a nap later. Have an apple pie and peanut butter cookies to make.

It is darned COLD again .. 5F ,,, thankfully I think the wind is gone .. Not a flake of snow either, altho, communities all around us are loaded with it .. as I always say, 'Lake Superior is doing its job' ! I liken it to a batter in a baseball game, the wintry weather starts to arrive, Lake Superior swings and the weather heads north or east..

Hugging you all .. stay safe and well where ever you are!

Hope today is really special for you and Lance Mary. You have both worked so hard to make this a reality. Really proud of you!!! Can't wait to hear all about it......
Sending so many prayers for you and your family Betty. I am beginning to understand what your Mom meant about Jim maybe not making it back to the cottage. This kind of pain is really hard to deal with...I sure hope he can though.....
Hope you are feeling better yourself and that this rest is helping you.

Edited because I can't spell!!!!

Glenview, IL

Hi
Thank you. We are just so saddened here to loose our little Skittles.
Everyone was busy wprking around the house when she flew into the kitchen window.
We kept her warm and comfortable in her cage...Jake went to check on her and she was just gone.

We buried her in the garden a few feet from Feathers.
Everone just shocked. Liz and Debbie, thank you for the pictures. She was such a delightful nd sociable little ball of feathers. I had to move her cage from sight since just cant bare to see it empty and quiet...

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending you and all the family soft gentle hugs Judy. She was a sweet part of your family and will be truly missed.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Again Judy, sincerest condolences on the loss of Skittles .. I can imagine looking at an empty cage is terribly difficult, glad you were able to move it.

How 'stormy' has anyone been?
We got maybe an inch and a bit of snow, that's it. Temps have come up to 30F .. better than 2F!
From the way the news online reads, most of the US is going to have crummy Thanksgiving weather .. never a good thing with all the travelling going on.

Betty .. (((((hugs)))))) .. just can't imagine the level of stress there .. you remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Busy day (but a controlled busy) ahead ..

Take care all

Morning,

Plow just went through, my plowman didn't come?? Have to give him a call see that he knows I'm still on his plow list

Had a busy morning and it's only 8am
Called Suzanne/Paul this morning..moving slower than usual getting myself ready to leave for tests at Midland hospital then home again

Then Darlene called worried re Jim

Had conversation about mom and her antics..hate the thought of our soon having to be honest with her, rather on the cruel side to make her see right now it is not about her..afterwards it will an all and out war..

Judy, hugs

"M" lots of snow here, want some? Pretty out there though

Waving to everyone

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Jim not doing well! Betty the sooner you sit her down and have that talk the better. Is your Mom capable of living alone?
Please drive careful in that weather!

I am glad we are not traveling anywhere for the holidays. Praying that storm is not as bad as they say it will be!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

So sad to read about Skittles Judy. Sending a hug and love.

Betty, I am so sorry for all you and your family are dealing with at this time. Take care of yourself.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Betty! I'm so sorry to hear about how bad Jim is. Can't believe that DOCTOR of his!!!! Hope you and Sharon can get your Mom under control. Good luck to you today. I'll be praying for all of you. ((((Betty))))

Judy, my lil injun, I'm so so sorry about Skittles. Guess God needed a little angel up there. You sis will be taking good care of him. ((((Judy))))

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you

Just got back from Midland hospital for some test, snow mush have frightened everyone away, nobody there! Good for me right, not much of a wait.

Gals, don't thnk ANYONE can get that lady to listen let alone under control..

I'm angry right now, mad'er than hell..
Sharon said the doctor asked him how many kids he had, didn't hesitate and said 4

Brings a tear to my eye

What does the witch do, spikes up and says

" no you don't Jim they are just your step kids" after 43 years I'm JUST a step child..want to wring her neck

The they asked Jm if he had a walker a home, just general conversation, witch spikes up again
'he doesn't, but I do " then proceeds to tell them about her knee replacement and I think every illness she had ever had...all about FRAN

Lyndonville, NY

(((((Betty))))) Sending big hugs

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Betty, Hugs indeed. I know from experience there is nothing can be done about a selfish person.
Our family decided not to have steps, or halves, or fosters, or adoptees. We just are.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks,

Sharon just called, wish I could even tell ou what mom has done and said..shaking my head

Both Sharon and I are overwhelmed with the thought of aging and becoming like her, can only say , please, please Lord, don't let that happen..if I feel like I'm heading in that direction someone give me something to end it..seriously
