Like me Betty, you have lived with it...you won't repeat it.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today,chat with friends old/&new
Terrifying regardless..
Boy don't I know it. I had always said I wasn't going to go through the change because I went through my mom's and it wasn't fair I should have to endure two. Pretty much didn't either.LOL
I do cringe at myself every once in a while I hear one come out of my mouth, backs me up in a hurry. Sister and I both decided we would NOT raise our families as we were raised. Our children know they are loved and are told so all the time.
(((Judy, Steve and family))) holding you close to my heart as your grieve for the loss of your delightful Skittles. I am so sorry for your loss.
Oh Betty I am just sitting here shaking my head..... all of your posts remind me so much of my mam when my sweet dad was so ill. I am sending positive thoughts for Jim and prayers that he will soon get some relief from his pain. M is right there are some others meds that can be used. No one should have to endure the intensity of pain Jim is experiencing, Oh Betty I worry for you as I know you are going to have your hands full with your mom. Jim must have been in such pain before so long before he finally spoke up pain.and went to the doc's. Here hoping with all of your tests you too will also get some answers and relief from your constant pain.
Mary thinking of you yesterday and wondering how today's event is going. Fantastic I bet!!
Dianne
Popping in to say a quick HELLO ..
Betty, has your Mom been diagnosed, 'pre alzheimers or, dementia'? She sure sounds as though she could be .. perhaps a visit it a Geriatrician (Geriatric specialist) would help, there are some meds out there that can help immensley with the 'moods' !
I feel so bad for you and Sharon .. cutting remarks pierce the heart and dampen the spirit.
And, then there's Jim .. trying to hold it together while he endures his pain.
I wish we lived closer ..
Was also wondering re Mary .. fingers crossed on the opening ..
TTFN
~M~
Thanks "M"
Do you know she has already packed up his things in boxes..I'm disgusted..Kim asked what would she do if he came home for a bit. 'I'll unpack a few boxes'
I know, I really know when faced with trauma, your loved one, everyone acts differently and strangely at times, but come on...
sending you hugs Betty ♥♥♥♥

Betty, hope you're feeling better, don't push too hard .. it'll set you back even more.
Off to son Murrays tonight to celebrate US Thanksgiving .. he and his wife are hosting a turkey dinner .. seems we have friends and relatives in the US, and, Murr decided why not LoL
Here's hoping Lorna and I can navigate all the stairs in his house !
Hope everyone is not feeling the effects of the MAJOR storm heading across the Midwest.
Wonder how Mary made out with her opening?
Off to make a pumpkin pie ..

Morning everyone!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving M.

DGD downstate reported black ice this morning, hope all are careful with that.
You might plan to pack a bag Betty as you might get stranded for a few. Take care of yourself you are very dear to us you know.
Horrible rains coming down on us today with temps taking a major drop. "Its beginning to feel alots like Christmas".
I am not complaining as the leaves are getting prettier each day and yesterday morning our ducks came in mass to the lake. I am so enjoying my little piece of Heaven on earth!!
Betty, please be careful and safe. Sending prayers and hugs for all.
We are supposed to get "the mess" anywhere from 5 to 16 inches....depending way wind blows, starting around 4:00 this afternoon.
Betty, drive safe. I have your headache, so I hope that means it is gone for you! I haven't had coffee since our breakfast, so I am hoping the cup I have in front of me helps.
Had another scare last night with Shannon, and it still isn't better. She formed a lump in her arm and went to Urgent care. They are idiots there and she was so stubborn wouldn't go to Strong Hosp.
She says feels like when had clot in arm/neck...or inflamed lymph node. Urgent care says inflamation from shot she got last week...doctor probably hit a nerve. Nerves don't form lumps at Elbow....when given in upper arm!
Travel safe...stay safe everyone!
Debbie if that is a blood clot, you need to get her to the ER now! Don't mess around!
Well we are under a tornado watch until this evening. Yikes but it is nasty....seems it is hitting all over the place.
Back from the city
Stew is on, hot bath waiting for me along with a nightie
Rita in bed, think she has what I have/had
Wonderful visit with Jim, some tears
Tell you all about it in a bit
Debbie, hope you can get in to your doctor's ASAP for Shannon..a scare you don't need
Yikes on the storm, know its Thanksgiving but please/please stay home, don't travel and hooe family does the same
Gong to prove to be a bad one
Marion, how is Kim?
Marion, take cover if you need too! Hope you have a safe place to go!
Take cover all those who are threatened by the weather blowing through!~
Betty - Definitely sent you my thoughts, prayers and hugs!!
Well, this has been a whirlwind hour! Left home to go to Drs, found out about a job at his office, got my prescription at the pharmacy, did grocery shopping, interviewed for another job, and got a lovely "something" in the mail from my Santa Warren's Christmas Exchange partner, to add to our "buddy's" present :-) This all happened Within One Hour, and I'm back home!!! So, from "door to door"......
Meant to add I sent out my Santa Warren pressie on Saturday. Oops, forgot to put my card in it..
Susan you have been busy. Sending prayers for those interviews.
Betty, Kim is doing much better. Still some soreness in the knee/leg but it is getting better. The scrapes are something else......she has to be careful how she bends as they start bleeding again. Just going to take time.
Thanksgiving travels will only be 6 miles this year to my son's home. Sue, my sister, will be having dinner with our aunt. For a change she seems excited about going.
Betty, take care, and all the others who are in the path of this nasty weather.
Debbie, keep us updated on Shannon, please.
Thanks, LK :-)
omg, Marion - missed something about Kim, obviously - what happened?
Looking forward to hearing how Shannon's doing, Debbie....
She fell last week at school and banged her knees up pretty bad. A combination of highly polished floors and rain. 4 more students fell after her. She was/is dealing with swelling, bruising and scrapes.
Susan, most likely we will be up at Strong Hosp. Friday for testing.
Lymph nodes are all swollen on the left side/arm and neck.
Drats Debbie that is not good!! Praying ....
Quite they day you had Susan, here is hoping
Marion, bet you are going to say she is working right? Waving my finger
Melanie has been coming over good part of the week and has been doing rag quilts with Rita, both trying to get them done before December..Rita is quite ill tonight, burning up, my turn to make something to eat and see if she needs anything
As well, I get to sit downstairs incase Mel needs instruction..she just ragged all her squares on the accuquilt now wants to see if she can put it together tonight..here I thought it was bedtime.
Got an email from Gayle who rounds the stained glass studio nearby, Joyce visited her shop and ended up with some of her pieces, anyway, she made beautiful large snowflakes, I said I wanted to make some..drats clas is Thursday night at 6:30. There are a few other courses being held but I'd rather fit it in now just incase Jim starts to feel more poorly. Going to try and go
One of the things Jim said today after Sharon and I and him broke down and got emotional was that I Nor siblings was to feel guilty and take mom in to live with us, even said promise me..said we would end up having a breakdown, said she was a HARD woman to live with that is for sure..
om my Marion - obviously the caretaker wasn't choosing to do the floors at the appropriate time, nor with the appropriate type of wax...... I hope that she heals quickly
Debbie - I'll pray for Shannon and that the lymph nodes are healed/removed soon!
Betty - when even Jim says she's a hard person to live with........ glad he extracted a promise from you. Now..... to live with the promise!
we promised to look after her, make sure she's ok, find her good lodgings just not with us..his hope he said is to be well enough to have the house/cottage sold (dreamer) and get her into an apartment
off to bed
night/night
Sleep well Betty, I'm sure today was very draining.
So much happening !
Betty, listen to Jim, because, I do believe Fran (Mom) will replace the 3 of you for him as she feels she cannot cope, a very toxic situation ..
Debbie I am so hoping your daughter is fighting an infection causing the lymph nodes to become edematous ..a flu shot 'could' do that.
All the best.
Marion, Kim will heal, but i would be reluctant to walk on waxed floors ever again!!
Just home from supper at our sons home, it was wonderful, gave thanks for family here in Thunder Bay and not miles away, except for Lorna's parents.
Have a couple of pics, but will download them tomorrow
I have an 8am appt at the fracture clinic for a folllow up appt for my hip, gotta be up way early .. off to bed I go
Toodles
~M~
M, said to say she will have to walk on the floors. She finally has told me that so far this year one teacher has slipped and broken a wrist; another teacher broke an ankle and numerous students have taken falls......all have occurred when there was rainy weather. Don't know who is responsible for having the floors polished so you can see yourself but it is done after the teachers and students leave for the day.
Betty, do stay true to your promise to Jim. Hard I know but it is only for everyone's benefit.
Rain still coming down; tornado watch lifted but some areas south of us did have some trees down. High today was 74 but 50 is the forecast for tomorrow. Yikes, what a change. Guess I will dig out my jacket.
Marion, that's quite incredible, smacks of a law suit if not remedied some how,, ?rugs/carpets?
50F would be heavenly, it;s 5F right now, and I am dreading going outside !
Dogs were out and in quickly.
Best get myself in gear ..
Have a great day everyone!
Toodles
~M~
Morning,
We have about 4 or 5 inches snow over night. Not as much as anticipated, but they said this is a
"lull" and more expected today. I will be doing more cooking to head off for tomorrow.
Betty, you listen to Jim!! Very wise man. AND there should be no guilt at all from either of you or Sharon and family. You have all gone above and beyond. I think assisted living would be best, if
she falls in apartment...wouldn't be good.
Well, need to get some coffee and motrin in me, I have a case of the aches, especially in my head. Feels like sinus starting.
Have a wonderful day all....
Debbie
Betty you listen to that sweet little Welshman Jim. He loves you and your sister so much and yes unlike what your mam said he IS your father. Sending prayers and positive thoughts Jim's pain will be kept under control. Sending some for you too my dear.
OH MY it is a winter wonderland out there. It snowed heavily all night and continues to do so. Plow guy just came through for a first sweep so the 2 couples that work can get out. He said he will be back after the snow has stopped.
Have read will be back after I have had a Timmies to comment.
Dianne
Betty, big hugs for you and Jim. I have to shake my head over your mother; people like that never "get it" - all we can do is work around them. I think assisted liviing sounds llike it would be good for her. She can spread her "joy" more thinnly, maybe.
Susan, good luck on the job search. You know my prayers are with you that you find something that's a good fit for you.
It is another gorgeous day here. I walked out of my bedroom to see a beautiful red sunrise as the sun came up over the Sea of Cortez. I've got on my flannel nightgown but don't need a bathrobe.
Feeling better physically and mentally than I have since the problem with Tom. Did a lot of work here and there yesterday. I'm not staying focused but getting parts of various jobs done. Beats lying in bed nattering about my ankle. It is still a little swollen and sore so I continue to baby it and do what I can while sitting. Did a hot water foot soak last night.
Tony is doing some gate repairs. There is a small fence that we cobbled together a few years ago. (New word for Tony today was "cobbled.") Looks like it's time to do it properly.
Everyone stay safe and warm.
hugs, katie
Morning all,
woke up thinking today would have been my 48th wedding anniversary!
wonder how things would have been..best I not dwell on that
Rita was up early this morning, said she was feeling better but was sorry she had lost almost 2 days from her busy schedule...
I'm feeling a little less congested today, oh happy days
Pressure in my back still there, not as bad though..last night just before getting in the tub I could feel my kidney pulsating..think the entire thing is my kidney's..let's see how right I am.
Debbie, we only got a skim of snow last night, guess you and Dianne got the worse of it..OMG Debbie hope I didn't give it to you..is it alright to tell everyone Debbie the lovely gift you gave me on the weekend??? so want to show it off???
"M" glad your Thanksgiving Dinner went well..were you able to take home some leftovers
-3 here this morning but nice and clear
Marion, you would think there is something they could spray in order to keep it not so slippery
They sure are looking to be taken to court.
Katie, Sea of Cortez, how I'd love to see that view.
best you rest, sounds as though you are still healing.
Do you give Tony a 'word of the day' each and every day? If so his vocabulary must be a large one.
