Sis, he doesn't touch hard boiled eggs, never will since he's small.
He'd finish off meat protein first, won't touch veges, but attacks the carbos like rice, pasta and bread. He does physical work with the appliances, but the main job at the prison is sedentary. For every calorie burnt, he'd consume at least 100 times more. I know I'm exaggerating, but it seems to me like it. He's also addicted to sodas. Fruits? If I don't eat them, they'll rot.
I think it's because he was brought up that way. His mother's a bad cook and his father will give the boys money to grab fast food. Kel and his brother were football players, so they burnt off all that junk in school.
It's bad now with the all the stress he's facing. He eats more, just like an alcoholic, he reached for his 'pacifier'.
All I can do now is limit the trips to buffet restaurants.
Thanks Sis. It's good to get feedback from my sistahs. Sighing here. At least his life insurance is paid faithfully.

SWEET INTERRUPTIONS. Rm 269
Dietary restrictions are so tough. DH loves protein but it conflicts with his PD meds. He's been able to eat more protein lately but sometimes there's a price to pay.
Morning, all. This season of The Voice has so much talent! Each week seems to get better and I'm constantly changing my mind about which singers are my favorites. Of course, it's much too early at this point in time. I hope Kaley Cuoco's sister, Briana, does well on her own. She isn't my favorite, but I imagine it would be difficult to live in the shadow of a famous sibling.
Well, enough rambling. I slept very well last night. Didn't get up until 5 a.m. It throws me behind when I sleep in like that. lol.
I'm glad they found Steve's problem, LK.
Nice shots, Pegi. I do luv thrift stores too! Just never know what you'll find, but it's rare that I don't come home with something or the other. :)
You're funny, for sleeping well it got you behind!! Lol!
Carole I guess I should be thankful that for now, his doctor puts him on cholestrol, bp and oral diabetes meds Hard to undo years of bad habit when I came into his life when he's 35 and had been living a bachelor's life for 6 years. He's a foolish 47 now, knows better that what he's doing will lead him to an early grave.
Quit watching The Voice after season 2. In fact, I have not followed any talent competition, just stick to Project Runway (not happy with the judges' decision) and cooking competitions.
Currently, I like "Cutthroat Kitchen".
Thanks Sis Kathy for bringing this to my attention. It's where the contestants can bid to sabotage each other!! It's fun to watch!
I love cutthroat kitchen. it is hilarious
I like iron chef too.
Gidget's so cute, Sis!!!
You're doing a good job, keeping up with exercising.
Can't wake up sleeping beauty. Cats are corralled, I'll just have to let them out. :( This vet is about a half hour's drive away, and he quit seeing patients soon :( Afternoon's for surgeries only.
SAMMY IS BEING GROOMED. HAVE TO PICK HIM UP SOON. GOT MY SLEEP STUDY TEST TONITE.
MADE RESERVATIONS IN MOBILE FOR THE 11-13 FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY
I wish I knew some ideas to share Jaye but unfortunately it is a tough situation. Kim has a serious problem but does do much better since learning she is diabetic. Just like Kel, I can't control what she buy and eats on her way home from work.....upsets me but I have learned (mostly) I can't do it for her. Charles also was a bad fried foods addict until he got so involved with his diving and that got his attention. He has to stay extremely fit in order to continue this part of his job. Great motivator. Sending hugs and so wish I knew something to tell you.
My kitty has discovered the screen door. BAD!
new swap open

Oh that's not good, Marion!!! You'll soon be Bobbie Sox doormama!! Lolol!! We have 2 cats that would body slam, to get our attention. Haven't broken the screen door yet, but it's coming!
Thank you for your input. Proud of Kim for sticking to her goal. Doctor warns Kel that he'd be on Humalog if he kept eating fried foods, but...
Here I am trying my darndest to eat healthy, and the man I love is hell bent on destroying his health. Thanks Marion.
Gidget is so adorable!!! You aren't alone at home! You have all sorts of critters to keep you company!
Jaye, sorry about Kel. Food is an addiction, and he won't change by anything you tell him. He has to want it himself.
My first garden club meeting as president is tonight. I'm a little nervous. I'm sure it will be okay, I'll just be glad when it's over!
GIDGET PUT A HOLE IN MY SCREEN DOOR, THEN GOT STUCK. MICHAEL WAS NOT IMPRESSED
Well...she is a PUPPY you know!
ya reckon? but he just fixed the screen.
You'll do fine, Cookie. You got lots of experience and knowledge in your back pocket, so no worries there. That's an honor of a lifetime. President of a gardening club! Wow!
Thanks Cookie, I'm quite a worrier as you know. Kel's much heavier than Bill and I'm so afraid... oh well.. he got to do it on his own, right?
Congratulations Cookie, you didn't tell me you were going to be president. Take a deep breath, smile and you will do just fine. That was words told to me when I presided at my first meeting lo 11 years ago last month.
eat some cookies cookie. then you'll forget your nervous. gotta pick Sammy up
Oh what a good idea! Okay...cookies....what garden club meeting????
see, iz told ya
What we all need is for our computers to be powered by our exercise bikes. So if you want to be on line.........
Cutthroat Kitchen is one I really don't enjoy. Just too much sabotage which I don't like when I'm cooking. lol. Makes me crazy. But I do love The Voice. Love it, love it, love. Now that's some real talent. The fashion shows don't seem to keep my interest. I guess I'm just not a fashion maven. That's putting it mildly. These days it's all about comfort and what doesn't scratch.
Just saw Cher on Live with Kelly and Michael. Great interview. She was popular back in my heyday ... and she still is. I think she's almost 70. Sheesh, what a body money can buy. lol. She will be the mentor for Blake Shelton's team on The Voice this season. That should be interesting.
Congrats on being Garden Club Pres, Cookie. Sounds like fun. I've never been part of a garden club but my mom was. The Pennyrile Garden Club in KY. She really enjoyed it.
If Cher's gonna be a mentor, I can watch it! You won't believe this, when I was following The Voice, I'd post my opinions on a sports site!! So it's not all about jocks and balls, cooking, singing and even dancing too!
Marion... LK... Lanakila... calling crafty sistahs. Include your names on this swap.

Sounds like sound advice to me!!! I don't like scratchy!
Thanks for the link.
I am in San Antonio for my youngest ones Birthday. I drove up this morninh and surprised him. I will be back tomorrow afternoon.
Wish him a wonderful birthday, may his wishes come true.
Have a safe drive home, LK.
Karen, we'd be saving on elect. bill for sure besides losing weight!
That's actually not far-fetched. I have seen kids video games like that. They had to pedal the bike to work the game.
Good morning sistahs.
Pain in right hand woke me up early and I know I'm having diabetic neuropathy in that hand. It's been numb for a few days with intense pain at the tip of my middge finger. Then whole numb starts getting numb, poor circulation causes that. Doctor has warned me years ago that since my feet's affected by nerve damage, likely for my hands to get that too.
Yes it's depressing, but I'm blessed that at least I can still walk some, and though it will soon be a struggle to use my right hand, at least it's not totally incapicitated.
Anyone have diabetic neuropathy? Lyrica quit working for me.
Did watch The Voice last night, Carole, the guy who made the comeback singing that R.E>M song got my attention at first. With proper coaching, he might be a great contender. I like Donna Allen and Olivia too. Christina isn't as annoying as she used to be. Got it recorded and Kel said he'd watch it this weekend.
I'm off to do the normal morning routine. Prayers said for all this morning before posting and I hope my sistahs here have a fantastic day.
morning Sistah's
cute puppy
go get em Cookie !
love Greys Anatomy and Modern Family. but yes i agree sitcoms just are not that funny. We watch a lot of reruns on Tvland and Hub channels
Sorry about Kel and his eating. that is a tough one. Can't help if they don't help themselves :(
got to run
apple day
good day to you all
Jaye have you had your hand checked for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome? I had that, it would wake me up at night. Rather easy outpatient surgery corrected it. I'm still having the problem with my legs but I'm reluctant to add any more meds to my list until absolutely forced.
Christina and even Cee Lo were a little too "diva-ish" before. But both seem much better behaved this season. And all the judges are giving good positive feedback to the contestants that don't make it. I think they will be done with the auditions next Monday and then on to the battle rounds. Cher was interviewed on some program this week and said she thought she would just be giving a little advice. But she quickly got very invested in the singers she is mentoring. Good! The back stories of the contestants are one of my favorite parts of the show.
Well, enough of that. Yes, Carpel Tunnel is a distinct possibility and worth having checked out.
Ya'll have a very good day.
Thanks Karen, Carole. I'll have that checked for CPS.
The pain isn't from the wrist, it's the middle finger starting from the tip, flaring downwards to the whole palm. The palm is somewhat numb now. Same as my feet. Toes first, then feet.
I got to be more attentive to whatever I'm grabbing or holding.
My ex had both wrists operated for carpal tunnel, at the same time years ago. Then when I was working, the repetitive movements affected my wrists. Started taking bananas and B6, somewhat relieved the pain.
A banana a day is part of my diet still. It would be a blessing if doctor would say it's CPS as you can't reverse diabetic neurapathy.
I'm prepared for the bleak, as he had warned me of this. Another terrible side effect from diabetes.
Don't want to bring anyone down with my health issue, as Karen here is going through a much rougher patch with "it"! Sorry sistah. Hope "it" has left you alone.
Then there's Pegi's DH and yours too Carole.
But it's so nice to be able to come here and get opinions from my sistahs. I'm also on various vitamin and natural herb supplements.
When I had the CTS there was nothing going on with my wrist, it was all in the fingers. Numb and tingling, would wake me in the night.
I was just going to ask you if you are diabetic. Yes, peripheral neuropathy is a possibility. I'd prefer it to be CTS.
Bananas are so good for you! We try to eat one every day as well.
I can only speak for myself, but you're not bringing me down. You're stating a fact, not wallowing in it. :) Besides, we can't pray if we don't know. :)
Don't worry about my "it" Jaye, Fact of life and not gonna go away until I do so....... Most of the time I'm OK and I'm not sitting in a corner sucking my thumb as yet. As we age, we all have challenges to face, as long as we don't give up it's AOK.
Now why do I write CPS when it should be CTS!!! Thinking of taxes!! Thanks for correcting me, Carole.
Shared info is power, we won't be sitting on ignorance! Plus sometimes it gives hope to an otherwise hopeless malady. Yes, then prayers could be more specific!
Thanks Karen, learnt something new there. Never knew CTS symptoms could just be tingling fingers. Were they accompanied by pain too. Yep, rather that for the obvious reason.
Not taking any painkillers, but constantly massaging and clasping my hand, seems to ease the pain and numbness/.
Just one more thing to worry about, and I will try not to let this bring me down. As long as I can hold the rotary cutter and use my knee for the sewing machine foot pedal, life will be fine.
Kel will just have to haul all the potted plants by himself for now!
good exercise for him. bend and stretch!
You got that right Sis. Then he'd return for extra helpings! Lol!
Jaye, I had similar issues and mine did turn out to be CTS. I still have numbness in my thumb and index finger on my right hand but have learned to live with it. Only bothers me when I try to pick up pins, pens and needles. The doctor said I had gone way to long before getting treatment but that was during the last few months Ross was alive. I will handle the results. :-)
the pharmacy just told me my insurance has been terminated and they want 197.82 for 1 prescription. I THINK NOT!
