Have my 'runs' caused my team to lose by 3 points??? 44 - 41
! wasn't able to cheer my Tigers all the way. Don't have a tv in the bathroom!!!
Each time I'm sweating in there, frickin' Dawgs scored!
Well Marion, you're right, I am not getting any better. It's all Kel's fault. Yes it is!
Thanks LK...Barb. I think my colons need its annual cleansing! Just warm teas for me now. I'm gonna find those packs of saltines that I had brought home with me from restaurants.
Is that stealing? My mind says no, as I'm certain the meals' prices include the saltines and whatever condiments offered!! Lol! Come to think of it, water is never free.
Oh I am sooooo p.o'd.
Congrats Marion. At least one sistah's happy. Seminoles... impressive win.
Ok.. back to bathroom...

SWEET INTERRUPTIONS. Rm 269
Sorry about the lose Jaye. Close game if the score is any indication and I do agree...all Kel's fault!! That is our story and will stick with it. :-)
I'm tired tonight....much progress isn't showing yet but I know I made some. Was a beautiful day for spending outside enjoying what God had given us.

laye, sorry about the lss, but the tide did shut out ole miss 25-0/
AND THE TIDE ROLLS ON
Going to be another beautiful day if I can forget the loss yesterday!
Well then Sis Kathy, Alabama just disprove those CNN naysayers saying it's not the same team like last year. Alabama has shown it played at 50 percent and still can win!!
The runs have stopped. I must have lost one pound!
Now I have bladder issues!! Fed into my craving for diet Pepsi for a few days. Oh boy, did I pay for that transgression. Sticking to Power Zero, wine or just herbal teas from now on.
Save yourself sistahs... drinking wine won't lead to this!!
Rest well today Marion. There are other days for you to go crazy in the dirt.
Have a super Sunday sistahs.
I am enjoying the cooler weather and drinking Hibiscus tea....yummy! Thank you Kim for making some since you were introduced to it in Mexico.
how do you make hibiscus tea?
Kitty in the cupboard! LOL!
I agree ... like those petunias, LK. It does look dry down that way.
Taynors, you are always busy, busy. No grass grows under your feet!
I've never tried making hib tea, though my late grandma used to do so from the common red hibs that grew in her garden. Marion, I might try that.
Here sis Kathy http://www.homelife.com.au/recipe/make+tea+from+hibiscus+flowers,3923
LK, can camellias grow in your zone? They and the chrysenthemums provide color here in fall. Petunias come in so many colors now.
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oooh Carole!!!! That is truly a Kodak moment!! What does your DH think of it?
Kel had stopped the cats from getting into the cupboards when he made latches. At least yours sit quietly, not rearranging the bottles! Lol!!
No football today for me, Sue. Have to try to read a book today, and it won't be the bible.
Carole, that could oh so be my cupboard now with my new kitty! I think at times she multiplies as I find b/w kitties every where.
Kathy, we bought a package of the red zinger tea with is hibiscus. It is so good....IMHO.
Love the petunias LK. I haven't put in any so far but they are on my list for doing so soon.
Discovered Purple Pixie Weeping Loropetalum (dwarf variety) this past week and put some in my larger containers. ie: old contractor's wheelbarrow. I did some research and found there is a dwarf white in the Loropetalum. I will be going in search of some one day this week. I had put white hydrangeas (Fuji Waterfalls) in the front of the house but they aren't doing very well. Mostly likely will move them to the area with the other hydrangeas and see if they like it better.
Hi Ladies,
Well I am glad I did not go to Street Vibes this year, however Doug did go only because a friend had never been and he also paid for everything $400 bucks for motel room for two nights, dumb dumb. But then Doug is always saying can't fix stupid (his friend is kind of duh dumb, lol) Some friends went down on their way home, back tire blew but they are ok except for a few broken bones. It has been cold, windy and now going to rain again, yippie.
Just a few broken bones? Guess it could have been worse. Glad Doug is okay.
Jaye I had camelias a few years ago but they died.
lol. DH could care less what the cats do. He appreciates their antics and entertainment. Ours don't get into the cabinets much but when they do, they usually don't knock over much. That cupboard has a lot of empty space back there and Li'l G is agile as anything. Occasionally, though, there's a lot of noise and a mess. The price of having cats, methinks. What I really hate is when that one gets in behind open dresser drawers and can't get back out. Have to remove the drawer which isn't always the easiest thing to do depending on which one it is. Wah, wah. :)
I showed Kel your picture before he leaves, Carole, and he laughed saying, "So, she got one of those too!"
Yes, cats are entertaining and poor you Marion, Bobby Sox is still a kitten. You must never give it any catnip!! Lolol!
LK, out of 8, I have 2 camellias that didn't do well. As the soil they were planted in was clayey and the amendments didn't work.
At least you could do blooming annuals for fall. Wish you could grow red japanese maples there.
To late Jaye, I made the mistake of giving her some catnip on Friday. For the next hour she engaged in a horrible battle with 2 brown paper bags. If you run fast enough and dive into one, they will slide all the way from the kitchen table to the middle of the foyer. I have to be very careful when I come down stairs. Buts.....I love her!!!!!
Not a football fan, but DH always has the games on. Today HIS team Mn. Vikings finally one a game, but had to cross over the pond to do it. Why can't they win on American soil. LOL I was sitting on the sofa and found myself yelling at a Viking to Run, Run, Run. DH said nothing, was so sure he was going to make a joke outof it.
Beautiful day, little too warm to dig in the dirt though, so I'm just being lazy as usual.
My cats don't need catnip!! They got themselves!!!
Marion I did a visual.. your poor house! But then, that's what you get cats for. To liven it up!
Carole, I can't understand my cats. All ten will eat at the same time, play at the same time and sleep at the same time! Guess they felt sorry for me and gave me some breathing time.
Pegi, yah... what's the matter with those Vikings! Maybe Darwin's too shock to say anything watching you cheering for the first time. You that never did care for football.
I thought I'd be free of football as I can't access the channel that's telecasting Broncos vs Eagles. Wrong.. I'm watching it online now! Actually reading.. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2013092909/2013/REG4/eagles@broncos#menu=drivechart&tab=track
Since Peyton's doing well, think I'll just read now! Lol!
DGD in TN is rooting for the Broncos too because of Peyton. Oldest great was named for him when Peyton Manning was still playing at UT.
Good morning everyone! Had a very good sleep and I think I'm clear of any UTIs, legs crossed!
That was a blowout game last night, Karen! 52 to 20! Peyton had 4 TDs while Vick, none.
Chip Kelly thought he'd be a great NFL coach, since Oregon is reknowned for it's fast offense. But he forgot that his school could NOT beat LSU with its NFL like defense! He's used to winning cupcake teams like Arizona and Washington State. Now he's in the NFL, he's facing teams that's all stars with defenses that are supposed to be what they are.. top notch.
He's out of his element.
I am glad that Peyton is back.
Watched the finale of the food truck race last night and I'm happy Aloha team won. That team must have angels watching over them. Everywhere they set up their truck, somehow there'd be Hawai'ians supporting them. But their personalities are great too, and they worked well as a team. One thing that surprised me, were the prices set up by the host. At $10 or $15 a sandwich, that's too expensive for me for a food truck!
Anyone watch The Real Housewife of anything? That's my guilty pleasure! Sometimes I wonder where these folks get their smarts from. Maybe that's why I'm poor for being too smart!! Lolol!!
It's a cool Monday here and I'm not going to exert myself in the gardens as Kel got hit with a bad case of allergies. It's enough with one sneezer in the house, don't want to run out of tissues.
I saw a poster somewhere online, where a soldier is taking a break in Afghanistan with the caption.. "My day is trying to not to take a bullet, how's yours?" That hit me hard.
My day now is to try to do the best my mind and my body could.
So have the bestest day ever sistahs. Love to all!! That is the truth!

Jaye, I know zip about football. Just know Peyton seems to be a good person, so glad my great is named for him.
We even have food trucks catching on up here. Haven't been to them but I almost never go to town. My DD and DSIL did last time they were here said it was good food and fun.
I watch almost no TV I think two programs a week through the winter. Greys Anatomy and I'm enjoying Cedar Cove because I read that whole series. I watched the first Michael J. Fox and will see how it goes, not too big with sitcoms. Most the humor seems too forced.
I don't know much about football either, Karen. Just know the Titans beat the Jets pretty good yesterday. They were so lousy last year I didn't watch any of it. Guess that makes me a fair weather fan. Ha!
I'm not much of a sitcom fan either. They just aren't funny in the way that good comedy shows used to be ...I Love Lucy, Red Skelton, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, even Laugh In (back in the day). OK, now I'm dating myself. ♥
I was happy to see the Aloha team win as well, Jaye. I was rooting for them. Very cool how the Hawaiians came out to support them everywhere they went. I hadn't realized there were so many Hawaiian islanders in the states. :)
I watch several reality shows, mostly the cooking competitions and things like Storage Wars and American Pickers, etc. The Pickers opened their second store close by in Nashville. I've seen the building but haven't been inside. When DH goes to Vanderbilt for his appointments, we're always ready to hurry back home after that. The cooking shows make me feel like I've actually cooked something. Well, I do cook but not so fancy as that most of the time.
Ya'll have a good Monday.
I'll catch some of those shows sometimes late at night when I can't sleep, they usually do the trick.
Boy if I was from Hawaii, I sure wouldn't leave to live here.
I do like the old shows and sometimes watch the Hallmark Channel. Usually hubby has a lock on the controller and I really don't like what he watches...War & mysteries and shoot-em-ups.
Karen, Robin Williams has a new comedy series on CBS and the first was a hoot! I'm pretty sure he adlibbed along the way and caught some co stars off guard! (hyphen ain't working)
Never watched the Cove.. but caught reruns of Grey's and I think Marion here's in love with Mc Dreamy!
No food trucks here, to catch one, I'll just have to go Lanakila's way. Not even at Myrtle Beach. Only time we have food trucks when there's a fair in town and the food's not satisfying.
There's a ESPN produced show on the Manning family, called the Book of Manning. Archie Manning is a stellar dad to his 3 boys, that's why they grew up disciplined and "normal" compared to some of the antics of famous athletes.
Years from now, your great grandson would be thanking your DGD for being named Peyton!
Will have to stock up pantry for fall foods which means, instant hot chocolate, soup and chilli mixes.
Oh by the way, the venison stew I fixed?
Read this.. Kel never did care for deer meat and he was adamant about it. I never tried to convince him to try but that day, I decided to 'trick' him. Yes, bad me. He only had tried others' deer recipes, never mine.
I had marinate the deer in wine, stuffed with garlic and onions, then set the roast in a dutch oven, and cooked for hours until tender.
Served it to Kel without telling him, it's deer. He ate almost everything.
Almost? Well, when there's only two bites left, I decided to tell him the truth.
Sistahs if you guessed Kel quit eating, you're right. He pushed his plate away, saying he's full but walked up to the fridge and grabbed some Spam meant for Lola.
If you guessed I got livid! You are right again!!
Then he admitted he's being a fool as when deer meat is cooked right, that game taste isn't there, nor the smell. The texture wasn't coarse neither. He forgot that Cajuns taught me how to cook game and I learnt from the best.
I still haven't forgiven him! Lol!
Cross posted Carole. I hear you on those cooking shows. Don't forget Top Chef's new season soon. Kel loves Cutthroat Kitchen.
Used to watch American Pickers, but had to give up on them with too many taped shows to be watched! Lolol!
You're not dating yourself, Carole. Those sitcoms were classic and call me old, but I LOVE Andy Griffith Show and there's Sanford and Son!!
Karen, if I'm right, Hawai'i is the costliest place to live. Jump in Lanakila.
Oh I be here and yes, McDreamy is/was good eye candy. Don't like the silver streak not showing in his hair so far. Hey Jaye, can you say Blue Bloods? Tom Selleck? Watch that and Chopped. It is amazing what Kim and I have learned about on that show.
Wonderful cool day here but it has started to sprinkle. I didn't think we were supposed to have rain today but it sure is dark outside. Irritates me as I was on a roll with my yard work. Guess I had better move those efforts to inside.
Love venison. Most game food if cooked properly don't have that gamy taste. Unfortunately Jaye, many aren't as lucky as you were. I can remember my mom soaking game meats in milk as she said that would remove the taste. I guess it worked as she always made some fantastic dishes.
Marion, I think LK said her mother used to soak venison in buttermilk. So milk got to work too, left overnight, it'd be buttermilk right?
Oh Chopped is my favorite. Got that taped too, and I love watching Chopped Champions.
Got to remember to record Blue Blood, Marion. Wish my dvr could tape more than 4 shows at at one time, but for the pleasure of gawking at Tom Selleck, I'll sacrifice one of my ID shows!
It is a tough job watching Tom Selleck Jaye, but some one has to do it! :-)
Just so you know I am getting back on track, I planted a Black Pearl pepper plant this weekend. Sad it didn't come with a pirate. Bummer!!! Just a warning not to eat....ornamental only!
I've cooked venison wrapped in foil with a small pork roast and onions. That seems to take away the gamy taste too.
My eldest daughters family practically lives on venison. Almost all are hunters including 14 year old daughter. DD doesn't hunt but she will sit with her youngest as she still has to have an adult with her. They live on a farm and every morning and evening are 20-30 deer in their field. All farm country around them so deer are well corn fed. And then there are the deer they hit with their cars. I don't drive there in the evening for that reason.
Oh Marion, how could you? A Black Pearl not accompanied by the most popular pirate? You've been duped!! Lol!
Karen, I once hit a deer with my station wagon. This huge buck must be attracted to the headligihts as he came charging! Of course I screamed! Woke up my ex, and all I could say was "Bring me home!" He wanted to strap the buck on top of the staion wagon, of course I wenet crazy. Our house was just 15 miles down the road, so he thought he'd turn around after dropping me off.
Not our luck, when he got back, a couple of men was hauling the carcass into their truck.
Nope, never hunted deer but had 'killed' one. Sadly, this was before I had a taste of venison.
Next time, I'll try cooking it with pork. Maybe add some buttermilk!
LK, too quiet, are you okay? Any news from your sister and your nephew?
Steve is home. He had a protien defiency causing his heart to go into afib. Kathy is still in a lot of pain. Still not able to walk.
I have been sewing bird house blocks. Been at the sewing machine. ..
When ever I see a deer I think of Bambi. Awww poor little deers! City girl at heart here.
I think DH is doing OK now that he has a stronger pain pill. He said he took 1/2 of one and so far so good. Nausea pills work too. Has an appointment for pain management next Monday, will see hat they have to say. On a regular doctor run now, on the 3rd, 4th 7th and 8th. Do break in between this time. At least this week I got my thrift store run in and saw many nice things I DO NOT NEED. Got to visit a little with friends we have met in the store.
I found out that Nicholes Sparks new book is out "The Longest Ride" so I went to library web site to see if I could have them put it on hold for me. I'm only the 156th person in line! Guess I won't be reading it any time this year. So many books in my kindle so I won't be without reading material for a long time.
Bless their hearts LK. Undoubtedly your sister must be very frustrated with herself. If she's like you, a go getter, I just hope depression doesn't take over. Not the time to be worrying over her son and having to nurse herself. Prayers go out to them still.
156? That's a long que for a Sparks book. I've never picked up a Sparks book, but I'm sure our local library hasn't carried the latest, Pegi. Maybe the que will be shorter with others giving up on the wait. So glad that you saw some friends. That's a nice break for you. May Darwin's future appointments won't be too hard on him.
Okay.. I need advice here. Kel's been told he needs to lose at least 50 pounds for his health. He overeats, compensates for all the stress with his mother with food.
So, no matter how I portion his servings, I can't monitor his food intake when he's away from me.
He avoids veges and go just for the protein and dairy. I had stopped getting him bread, but he'd buy a loaf without my permission. I don't mind if the loaf would still last for a week and a half, but now it's just for a few days.
Mind you, the good thing is, he's told to lose that much three years ago, and he still has not gain a pound since then.
I am not one to buy processed canned food, like Sloppy Joes or Manwich. He bought them on his own.
Tonight, we had a great supper of baked chicken and pasta. He had more than one serving, and just a few minutes ago, he browned one and a half pound of ground meat and made it into a Manwich..
Yes I'm pissed. No amount of telling how his health matters to me, will get through this man..
what do I do?
Gonna just cool myself down, do what LK does.. try to finish birdhouse blocks or just numb my mind playing solitaire.
Sorry Jaye, can't help you with that stubborn man of yours. LOL I'd like to lose 30 lbs. but I can't if I don't try. I'm so in love with sweets.
I finally downloaded some pictures into computer. A few weeks ago I found a brand new ceramic American flag plate. Can't pass up much with Our Flag on it. Also have a picture of my mini plumeria. "Divine" is the right name as it is so pretty and smells good. Morning glories twinning into rose bush at corner of garage.
Pain pills are working for Darwin, he took 1/2 of one before we took our trip to the thrift store and he was pain free. Ate a good supper tonight and of course had his dish of ice cream.
jaye, give him all the protein and veggies he wants. nothing else. if he wants a snack tell him hard boiled egg, cold meat, fruit or nothing at all.
or send him to work with mike, he has lost 45 pounds since he's been working out of town
Good morning sistahs.
I come to terms last night that Kel will have to do it on his own. Food is his escape.
Pegi, the plumeria is soo adorable! Plumerias' scent reminds me of that luxurious perfume "Joy". One whiff of it, it brings me back to home.
Lovely plate, will you be hanging that? Haven't seen a RWB ceramic plate, that's a lucky find, Pegi.
You and LK grow morning glories well! I need to soak mine as advised!
Good to know his pain pills are working.
It's a cool day, and more cats to bring to the vet for their annual immunization. As I said, this time there's a cheaper vet so the costs will be much lower. Kind of hard to get the outside cats to agree to get into the cages on their own! But rabies shots are needed.
Have a great Monday everyone.
