New room ladies! We came from here... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1330361/
A few of my morning glories!
***Sweet Interruptions*** Rm# 267
Oh, those morning glories are so pretty.
Haven't heard from DH yet this morning, he was so mad that they hadn't moved him into the room that was ready for him. We weren't getting very good phone reception and I really didn't want to hear him rant & rave about the service. I know when I left there were many people waiting and you would think they would move him so they would have another room ready for a patient. I just hope he feels a lot better after getting blood and all the essentials he was low on. This heat seems to be making everyone sick too.
About 1 AM i heard a big noise and of course I jumped out of bed, big mistake. I fell flat on my butt and I now have a sore back, neck and headache. Never did find out what that noise was. Really shook up my innards.
talking to the Georgia peach, giving her a good what for
Thanks for the new room! Like someone said on your FB, LK.. they are Glorious!
Pegi, if only we can land on all fours like the cats. Ouch.. Tylenol for you gal.
Hope by this afternoon, Darwin will have a room. Poor guy.. kinda blessing in disguise for that poor connection, you think?
Sis, I'm simply overjoyed that our Ga. Peach is still around! Haven't seen her for a long time!!
Sure would love to hug that sistah again.
I found the address exchange. Go to the top of the page and click on guides and info, the address exchange is to the right of the page.
Found ya'll. Thanks for the new room, Linda. :)
LK, I clicked as told and no addy exchange. I'll try again later.
Carole, those cashews should be easy for your DH. The Brazilian nuts are my favorite, they taste like coconut chunks.
One Indonesian friend who's new to this land, proudly displayed a can of Planters Mix Nuts. She wrote that the "N" toes are the best!! I had to send her a private message telling her to use the proper name. Poor child tried to correct me saying that's what her DH calls them!
Lol!!
It's not till receiving another concerned friend's similar message that she deleted her posting altogether!!
Karen, I read on FB that you're back in Mi? That's a short trip. Hope all went well.
Kel's watching his reality gold show and I had to laugh at him. I can't believe that for a smart man, he's convinced that all gold prospectors have brains. Especially when prospecting for gold in a foreign country.. one must be familiar with the laws of that land and especially the natives! You all should see his phone come alive during the show. His colleagues would be texting back and forth... case of the dumb and dumber, anyone?
He's always ridiculing me for liking the 'duck dynasty'.. at least I'm not watching the 'dumb A**"!!
Good night ladies...thank God for another tv. I'm off to catch up on the mayhem and murder shows!
Sorry Jaye, click on the Guides and info, then on the right it says extra's. Then you will find the address exchange.
Trip was shorter this time, came back early for a grandsons football game. Then we will head on home. Made great grand Brody 4 unhappy.I have to start telling him a few days ahead when we will be leaving and tell him again every day. He still has a melt down. He's my mushy one. Every morning he gets up early so he can snuggle in with me before the others get up. I have to take him and pick him up at pre school while I'm there too.
Awww...that's so sweet....
It must break your heart each time you're forced to say goodbye to Brody. I'm sure with all the great grands you have, he's the one that occupies that special place in your heart.
Sorry sistahs. Yep when football is here I tend to be AWOL!
3 great games and Florida has been disappointing. Marion, can you believe that? Letting unranked Hurricanes stump them? How dare the ACC disrespect the might of the SEC ;) Lol!
Waving to Cookie. Is it almost fall there? It's still hot here, and I hope the rains come soon. Time for the irises to put out buds.
I just got back from the Wal Mart pharmacy. I have been getting meds there for years. I told them I was there to pick up my meds, and they told me I had to call this 800 number for CVS pharmacy, they would not fill my script anymore. I got home and called the number, and they told me that I now have to have new scripts from the Dr. for all our meds, that have to be 3 months plus 3 refills, and I have to fill them at CVS! So now I need to pay for another Dr. Visit to get new med scripts. CVS told me it was due to the new Obama plan, as things are being cut out of the medical plans. Makes me wonder what's next!
Sure wish they had told us about this, so we could plan things out better!
OK, I am done with my rant for the day!
Don't blame you for the rant LK. That Obama plan really is going to hurt us. I'm wondering what will happen in the HMO I am in, we use same clinic, hospital and pharmaries connected with Kaiser. Really is getting scary isn't it.
DH is home and feeling better, is eating more now and I've got him on Gatorade again. He is still weak, but seems to be getting around a little better. Besides getting blood and other things his body needed he got a shot for the white blood cells. Never heard of that one. If this heat continues I think he is gong to be in trouble again. We aren't used to high humidity and it has been close to 100 for days. One good thing though, they said his lungs are clear. About time we were hearing good signs. He did get good care, even though he got mad because they weren't going to start his transfusions until the morning. I guess it helped because they got them started that night.
Not a nice thing to say, but I was glad for those hours I had just for myself. Had to wait on no one but myself. TV never got turned on until he came home Friday evening, then it will be going until he retires for the night.
We made our rounds before heading home today, stopped at all our kids for a few. Was the lucky recipient of many many kisses and hugs from grands and greats.
Very best news from youngest son, we are about to be reunited with his granddaughter. Her mama cut us off while in the throes of addiction to prescription drugs, she became very paranoid, left treatment, took up with a man she hooked up with in re-hab and things really went down hill. fortunately baby is now with her grandmother who is going to court for guardianship next month. (the mom is agreeable to this as she does realize she cannot care for her child). Even though they are divorced, son and his ex are on good terms and soon we will be able to see our little sweetie again.
Jaye, We are so very lucky, all our grands and greats give us both hugs and kisses every time we see them, including the adults. I have a lot of painful memories concerning family but the bunch we have now makes it all go away.
I get that, Pegi. And I understand the rant, LK. I just wish they could do something without messing up something else. :/
Jaye, I love Brazil nuts too so we are like Jack Sprat and his wife with the nuts. Something for everyone and we manage to eat them all. Yummy! :)
Good news, Karen. I know that lifts your spirits and lights your heart.
Morning everyone!
Karen, that is great news, that little one will now get the care they need!
It's been so hard not being able to see her months, she is a little ray of sunshine.
Good morning Sistahs.
Karen what you post is so heartwarming. Finally, that longing to see the 'lost' greatgrand will be fulfilled.
Sis Kathy will be sniveling when she reads this.
Yay for good news on Darwin Pegi! Prayers work and yes, you need your own 'me' time!
Lol Carole! So you and DH lick the can clean? It's like that with Kel and I. I'll eat the veges and Kel will finish up the meat. Anything to do with fish, they're all for me. While he'd wolf down vinegary bbq in record time!
LK, sorry that the new program affects how your prescriptions prescribed. With one meds, I was given a year's prescription until 2011 when it's changed to quarterly. Having to call up and reapply is an inconvenient, but at least I had that for free then.
We all are entitled to our own opinions, especially if it affects us in a negative way. Obamacare's coverage expansion takes full effect next year in NC, not now. By then, I may be able to have affordable health insurance without having to pay a hefty penalty for pre existing condition.
For now my beef is unfortunately with the NC govt. Mc Crook, turned down billions of dollars in medicaid expansion and as a result, we are beginning to see more hospitals cutting back staff and already one closed down. Then to make up for losses, the elderly and poor will see a rise in their Medicaid premiums.
My BIL and Kel are both helping their parents with bills as much as they can. They can barely make it right now with extensive medical charges.
We are already living from paycheck to paycheck, and even though I don't care for MIL, I don't begrudge Kel for wanting to help.
Truly pity the senior citizens having no family they can turn to. Reversible mortgage offers are the new loan sharks.
Okay..off my rant.
It was a happy night for us both! Both our teams won. I don't like being around Kel when Ga. loses. He'd be calling out the coaches and anointing them with new names!! Lol!!
Gonna do a little work using Kel's legs later this afternoon.
To all reading this.
Asking for prayers for my FIL. He's given morphine and his days are numbered.
Thanks sistahs.
So sorry Jaye, if inevitable, I hope for a gentle passing.
Praying. ♥
Thanks Karen and Carole.
Yes Karen, a gentle passing is the ideal prayer knowing his battle can't be won. He was talking jibberish this morning and the nurse had to return to give him a higher dose of morphine.
Just talked to Kel and Murdock's calmed down some.
.
So sorry Jaye, sending lots of prayers!
Several swaps are open, come and check them out!
Kathy has the candle swap open, come and check it out!

Happy Halloween!!!! Spooky swap time!

Jaye so sorry to read about Murdock. I, too, wish for a peaceful passing..heaven knows what he is dealing with has pains enough. A hug for you and Kel.
Kim and I went to a party for our vet last night....her birthday. Kim made 2 large pans of enchiladas ...one chicken the other bean for those that didn't eat meat. Was hoping some would be left for our dinner tonight but not so lucky. Guess they must have really like them. It was a really fun evening...all singles and we laughed until we hurt.
Today isn't go good!! Kim and I both are fighting what now appears to be a sinus infection...bummer. Oh well, it too shall heal.
Jaye, extra special hug for you and Kel.
Sorry to hear you both have sinus infections Marion. Get out that neti pot.
I am not actually surprised we got sick ...usually happens when we have been under stress. Way ahead of you Linda...actually we both just turned up the steam on our CPAP units and that helps tremendously. Just wasn't in the mood to have a few days down....again, bummer.
Gets lots of rest Marion, you have been through a lot. (((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))
It's the way it goes Marion, you go and go and when you finally sit back to rest it grabs hold of you. I firmly believe much of it comes from stress. The two of you just need to coddle your selves and let you get better.
I've never successfully grown morning glories. What's the secret.
You have to soak the seeds for a day, before you plant them.
Linda, I've read that some people score them too. My aunt always has lovely ones.
Mine didn't do well Lanakila as I failed to soak the seeds! LK, I'll do so next spring!
Will try scoring them too, Karen.
Marion, sending healing vibes for you and Kim. A house of sick women... poor kitties.
Thank you for your prayers. Kel had been down there thrice and I don't know what's going through his mind. I'll tell him so and so are sending prayers.. and he'd whisper a soft 'thank you'.
At least the cats and Lola provide kind distractions.
Heading to bed early. Brain tired from searching for some alternative remedies for diabetes. Anyone heard of breadfruit? A tropical fruit and the dried leaves are touted to be good for diabetics, when used as tea. I'll try anything NOT to be dependant on so much insulin.
Good night sistahs, and thanks for your prayers.
Sending my prayers for your FIL Jaye. And for Kel as well.
Never heard of that fruit Jaye!
I've heard of breadfruit but never had it. Kind of a cream consistency, isn't it? I believe Vit C is important in helping to control diabetes but I'm sure you already know that.
It's raining here. I didn't expect that. It went from 70% humidity to 100% humidity. :-D)))
Have a good week.
Jaye, is there a big hospital near you that does studies for things like that? San Antonio is always placing commercials on tv for different medical problems, asking patients to come in, and they pay you big money for you to come to them. Something to check out?
Good morning sistahs.
Thank you Barb, Kel will appreciate that very much. By the way, did you get your birdhouse block yet?
Unfortunately LK, I'm hours away from a big town. Not seen any ads of that sort. Maybe Lanakila had, as she lives in a much more bigger town.
Carole, breadfruit is a firm fruit. It's delicious when slices are fried, boiled, broiled and some cultures mashed them in lieu of mashed potatoes.
The fruit is proven to lower blood pressure. Grandad had his under control eating boiled breadfruit.
I found online a Jamaican store in NY that sells the boiled fruits but not leaves.
Supposed to rain some today, and the temps in high 80s. That will be nice as I'm still waiting for some brugs to expose their color!

Check out this link Jaye, there are several locations in N.C.
Maybe something will come up that can help you?
praying for Murdock and kel
marion hope u feel better soon
