Oliver, my son's wirehaired pointing griffon during the opening of HayHay's birthday presents....he was actually trying to help open a few, until his Daddy made him lie down there.....

Bad Daddy!

Thomaston, CT

Took Suey to the vet last night as she was vomiting blood....I know the cancer meds she is on can cause bleeding ulcers......will know more later this morning....I'm just a wreck....

South Hamilton, MA

We all understand. You don't need more problems.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Suey and Marilyn are in my prayers.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks.....she didn't vomit yesterday, but she didn't eat either......the doc had her on intravenous anti-nausea drugs....will know more later today......

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Keeping you guys both close in my thoughts (((♥♥♥)))

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

One day at a time. If she won't eat anything - try a donut - they will always eat a donut.

Thomaston, CT

Suey didn't make it.....I'm just heartbroken....she was a lovely, sweet, kind girl....I will miss her forever.....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Marilyn I am so sorry to read this as I said on the other site. My heart is broken for you. Suey was so blessed to have you in her life (((♥♥♥)))

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I am so sorry! {{{hug}}}

South Hamilton, MA

Heart breaking to lose a pet. I know you have done so before, but each one hurts.

Thomaston, CT

Thank you, dear friends......just very hard for me right now, & my brother was taken to the hospital yesterday....going to Waterbury shortly to see him......

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I am so sorry for your loss, Marilyn. I feel as though I knew Suey. You did everything in your power.

Thomaston, CT

Thank you, Rosemary......I've had dogs my entire life, but Suey was so very special......Her cancer vet called to offer sympathy & let me know how much she was loved by everyone in the hospital....

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

That was thoughtful of the vet to let you know how Suey touched people.

Pieper-Memorial is a wonderful 24/7 hospital for pets....

I found a pup through a Petsmart website......black & white....listed as a hound mix. I filled out an application today, I'll post if I hear anything. She's in a foster home in Ark., pulled from a kill shelter.....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I'm so happy for you Marilyn...Good luck!!

South Hamilton, MA

Good luck to you & she.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

That sweet dog can't find a better home!

Thomaston, CT

Thanks....looks like I will get her in a few weeks.....she looks very much like Suey, only not so many speckles...trying to decide on a name....she's a Southern gal, so I'm leaning toward MaggieMae....Mags for short......

South Hamilton, MA

When she arrives a name may pop up. I found that with our last cat. We were driving home & since we had been at a shelter in Gloucester (a fishing port) the name 'Captain' popped up. I had not thought of that before.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I had the pop up thing happen with Wallingford!

The gray stray cat, (Meeyow), that I brought into the house had 4 teeth removed on Monday. Now water leaks out of his mouth on that side. LOL!

On a not-so-nice note, he has kidney stone(s). Removing the stones is more than $10k, much more. The stone could sit where it is forever, or it could move and then I would have to end his pain.

South Hamilton, MA

It is sad, but such an operation would be out of the cost reach of most of us.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

That is a pretty hefty amount of money alright.

The other way a name happens is if the rescued pet got a good name at the foster home. We didn't name Clifford. The kids would have thought it too childish to have their own big red dog, but they couldn't think of a better name than that of the rescue committee, and I admit I teased them about finding a vampire name to go with his yellow eyes. That made them realize he was too sweet for any other name than his own.

Thomaston, CT

Right now her shelter name is Leike, but I don't think it fits her at all......the adoption application wants a collar with ID on it when she's picked up, so I will put her name on the tag with a sticky post just in case I want to change it!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Mona came with her name. DS says that she was meowing in her way at him this afternoon. he is the treat master(when he feels like it)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Poor Meeyow, loosing his water...here's to hoping his kidney stone stays in place ♥

Thomaston, CT

Yes...I got so excited thinking of my new pet, I forgot about your kitties, Memory....hoping the kidney stone stays put!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Thank you everyone. Now my mission is to figure out why every cat in my house has now, or has had recently, sub normal Thyroid. (Whish I had paid more attention in Chemistry!) Hahaha!

South Hamilton, MA

Something missing in the water? or food?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Good question. I just switched them to bottled water in hopes that would help. They eat a couple kinds of canned, grain-free food. The top Cat endocrinologist just throws up his hands over them. Two of the guys are very thin and continuing to lose weight even though their bloodwork - other than Thyroid - come back all in normal range. I'm trying to figure out other food for the thin ones that they will eat and that has more calories and good nutrition.

Thomaston, CT

They need to come up with an Ensure for kitties!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Ronnie - How is Nera doing? Got the dogs in line yet?
