I'm still seeing words cut off in the Northeast forum. I set my font at 11 and dumped my cache, restarted several times and it's still the same.
7/17 What Just Happened to the Page? Anybody Else Seeing It?
Seedfork, I believe you. The problem is, we can't replicate what you're seeing and it isn't happening consistently for you, which makes it difficult to do any sort of trouble-shooting.
My one guess is that it has to do with threads that have long strings (like URLs).
Can you do me a favor and try viewing that same thread with a different browser? If it's not displaying wonky, that may give us a clue that it's browser-specific. If it isn't, then we'll need to know if you have your browser zoomed in, and to what degree.
Ronnie, which threads - specifically - are you having problems?
While I was out for dinner, I do believe that you made the message window wider. It looks much better on both of my computers. Thank you.
Now, the only thing I would change, but it may not be possible, would be so that if I scrolled right a bit on 1 page to center the text where I like it, I wouldn't have to do it on each and every page. But that's a pretty small thing.
Thank you for sticking with it.
my journal is still cut off on the right side, with all the other issues going on however, I hope they have not forgotten about that issue, as my journal is very important to me and I hope to use dg and my journal and have pictures in it which I can keep adding too, as my garden cultivars expand, for years to come.
Terry these two right now are still cut off.

Can you take another look at them? I've shortened the longer URLs, which may or may not resolved the problem. If it does not, it may be browser-specific and/or related to the five photos in one of the posts.
Like Seedfork, can you try a different browser, and see how it looks?
Terry, I just went to one of the threads Ronnie is talking about. Since I haven't had any "cut-off" problems so far I was kind of curious. It cut off for me too, even though I haven't experienced that anywhere else I've been, at least so far.
how about my garden journal on my page cuttoff on right side?
Now the right edge is cut off here (had been just fine) but not on "the new problem" thread on the Dave's Garden Forum.
I have a custom view set at 130, any larger and I have a scroll bar at the bottom. But with my text set at 12 in DG, I have to make the text larger to see it very well.

As I'm suggesting to others, I'd ask you to try it with a different browser and see what happens. I can see my own journal without a problem, and login as you (with Firefox as my browser) and not have any cut-off issues.
Terry I will check it in the morning. On my Nook now and nothing looks right on that. Thanks for the help.
Seedfork, that is probably the key. A 19" monitor is average/typical size. Setting your browser to 130% is relatively high and may require you to scroll back-and-forth.
It shouldn't cut off text (and I think that's a different issue.)
ok, I reduced my font size by pressing control and scrolling up on my mouse and now I can see my whole journal, but by reducing mt font now my pictures are small and inorder to make them out good you have to click on them individually and blow them up. Since this is now the case can they now add the journal pics back to the editing journal too? .
Okay, it's 10 pm here, and I've been on the site since 8 this morning. I'm waving a white flag for tonight, and may not be on much tomorrow or Sunday, but I will check in throughout the weekend and we will keep moving forward with trying to pinpoint the exact sources of problems as best we can.
While I know that if you experience a problem, it's a 100% problem for you. But if it's any consolation, the number of people reporting problems is a very small percentage of our active members, which tells us that these problems are fairly unique. Hopefully we'll be able to identify the common denominators (if there are any) and tailor a solution (which may be a workaround) that fits your needs.

I have made that request to the techs. As soon as we work through some of these issues, we will try to restore that column.
Awesome!!! :-)
Wow, OK. I haven't had any problemz up until the last hour & suddenly words cut off on the right hand of the page.
I'm having the cut off of words problem also.
I reduced the font size to 12 and it still happens.
I think the problem for me is in the way the white box with all the posts is limited by the large beige box that now encloses it. Before I could extend
the post area but now I can't make it bigger because it is inside the beige box.
Can you get rid of the beige enclosing box so we can customize the size
we see the posts?
I had to go from 11point to 10 to avoid the cut off.
Terry the cut off was still the same for me but I did like Pfg did and went down from font 11 to 10 and that works. Just bumped up my zoom a bit and so far so good.
I may not like the changes but I do appreciate all the work you guys put in to make it personal. Thank you for that!
Terry, no with the view set at 131 I do not have the scroll bar, at 132 it appears.
So scrolling is not a problem for me, the narrow boxes and the expansive blank spaces are a problem.
Ok, I did that too. Changed text on DG site to 10, the cut off post in vegetable gardens is now corrected. Now I have to go to view 170 to read the text, and that means I now have to scroll.
I'm certainly not technical but wouldn't it make more sense to put the social network stuff on the right side and just shift everything over? Seems that would end the scrolling issue for some. I have my ads turned off so I don't see the pages as others may. Just seems like it's backwards.
I have not been able to see the complete text in threads for several days now. The text is disappearing on the right side instead of wrapping to the size of the box. The only way I can read the whole thing is to click on a
thumbnail photo and then the whole text is printed underneath the expanded picture. If there is no thumbnail photo I can't see all the text. You'll have to reply to my D-mail, or post a photo with your reply, as I can't make sense of the truncated sentences in the forum.
Just would like to add the comment that the text in the boxes seems out of proportion to the text in the banners and other places. The text in the two center boxes seems very small to me.
The text in the headers and banners seems very large.

Moving the ad column/ blank space to the right side of the screen would make reading feel more normal. My eyes go the left side of the page to begin reading and the current blank space is quite bothersome. I even tried turning the ads back on to fill the space, but that did not help.
This is a first for me this morning. I've been reading where some have had a problem with the text being 'cut off' on the right side. I had not seen that personally until this morning, on this forum, on this thread. The other threads seem to be OK.
Now it's fine - no more cut off right edges.
I have done everything I can think of and there is no way I can get to the right edges of peoples post. The home page is fine, but nothing else. I have been gone for a week and thought this would be corrected when I came back. Its worse :-(.
Keeping the faith...........
Since last night my view has also started chopping off the right side of the text in the text window. I had my font set to browser default but went back and changed it to 12 but that didn't help. I am using Chrome. I can see about maybe 2/3 of the post so not sure if I can read if there is a fix for this unless it is in the part that isn't cut off.
I agree that if the Ad column was moved over to the right side it would solve every ones problems as they could adjust the screen to fit their needs and with out cutting off anything. That is as long as the new left hand column was not to wide.
Terry: It would be very helpful if you would, maybe on a stickie, list (1) the issues you acknowledge to be problems and are working on with a estimated fix date and (2) the issues you are investigating. It is a pain to scroll through all these messages to get to that information.
Terry & Ronnie ~
I temporarily changed browsers (at Terry's request) to try one of the Northeast Forum threads again (Coffee Break #97 - one of the 2 threads Ronnie commented about). I used Firefox (probably an older version) which is the only other browser installed on our computer (our normal browser is IE 8 since we still have XP).
There was no cut-off at all. What's interesting about that is even with my old browser I'm not having a cut-off problem with any other threads, D-mails, or anywhere else on DG. I don't normally visit the Northeast forum and went there mostly out of curiosity when Ronnie posted the 2 links. What would make those 2 threads different than others?
Terry, I realize you most likely won't see this post until Monday, but I figured if I waited I'd forget about it. Enjoy your weekend...you need a break!!
Not everyone has multiple computers or multiple browsers or enough space on their hard drive to put on one. I have dialup and Chrome or Firefox is just not an option for me. There is no high speed available to me at my house.
Maybe there are others that might not tell you about the problems with this site since they might not use it so much on a regular basis. And if they see problems with it, may not use it at all....that IS a possibility.
For others who are not able to view the entire text, like me, I click on "VIEW" at the top of my browser, then go to "STYLE", change the style to "NO STYLE". It is only temporary, but you can at least view all the text in the box. It gets rid of the the white boxes to the left and right and expands the text across the page. To me, this is how it should look for ALL of us (paying subscribers), or even the non-subcribers could have the ads on the sides with their text WRAPPED AROUND in the text boxes instead of cut off.
evelyn, I did that and it helps, except that each time you read another forum is goes back to default.
evelyn ~ That's really cool!
I would never have thought of that. I'm not having any problems with cut-off text or having to scroll (I'll keep my fingers crossed), but for those that are it might be a temporary option until this gets sorted out.
The only threads with text that cut off for me were the ones in the Northeast forum that Ronnie posted. That isn't a forum I normally use so it hasn't been an issue, although it is odd that one forum is doing it.
Thanks for the suggestion. I hope the members with problems seeing the whole threads see your post.
