Good morning sistahs.
Wishing all a good week and may the weather co-operates with your plans.
Grounds are soaking wet, and the weeds and grass are again taller than me. Again, I'll be wary of snakes, even though there are umpteen natural predators in my yard!
Not much going on with my schedule today. Sew, sew and pray.
Praying for all that need and even the ones that don't ask.
*Sweet Interruptions* Room 263
Those are so pretty Sis!
Mornin....still is isn'? Wet here also. Would you believe when I left for Atlanta it was pouring rain, stopped at the Ga. state line and didn't see another drop until we cross the FL line coming home last night. Go figure.
Tired today, we packed a lot of activity into our brief trip and with Kim not feeling so good....well, just a slow start today.
Need to get myself in gear and plan to leave this weekend for my sisters. Kim is just now starting to tell things that happened ...the day a week there is no water (unless family has back up water tanks), electric very ifish and very, very expensive to use, no hot water at all.....guess what the first thing she did. LOL She did say food wasn't the best even though her family did provide good meals....other places she ate just were so-so.
Excited about some of the historical places and things she did.
just got back from hospital. was working outside and droppd the pick axe on my bare foot. its not broke just bruised. sara had to goget my neighbor alan to come take me o the hospital
Kathy, you and your toes!
Love all the flowers!
thanks linda
Kathy, Kathy, Kathy...what in the world are we going to do with you? Gal you have just got to learn to take better care of yourself. Hope it feels better soon.
We had a whopper of a day!. First Darwin saw the oncologist and he thinks, like we do, that chemo is working and wants to keep it up. We had parked on the second landing of the parking structure and when we got out of the elevetor we saw a flat tire on the van. Just what we needed. DH started to get a jack out to try and change his tire when a Chinese man came over and asked if he needed help. Darwin said he could do it, but the man just took over and got the tire off and started to put spare on. Spare was so low in air so he took it to a gas stateion and filled it up. Came back and put it on for us. Our guardian angel for today. We went to the tire place and found that the tire walls are cracking from the elements. So, we ended up having to buy 2 new tires. At least I got some reading done on my kindle while sitting in air conditioned room waiting. Had to stop at the bank and then was glad to get home. Tomorrow is a chemo day and hope it goes better than today AND how was all your Mondays????
The angels were making sure, your vision would be helped by dry weather, Marion!! Until you have someone next to you, driving home! Welcome home Kim. I'm sure you missed the kitties too!
Sis Kathy, I hate to say this, but you need to pay careful attention to what you do, especially when your head's already trying to cope with so much. Please don't attract anymore calamities.
And that means if you had to leave the garden alone.. then leave it alone!
Pegi, what a wonderful man to be helping Darwin with the tire.
My ex can tell you that most Singaporeans are like that man. If you're seen with a flat, likely to be one to come along and just take over!!! Serious!! It happened to us, and even though ex said he got it under control, this young Chinese ignored him and politely took over removing the lug nuts!!
Ex tried to tip him, and that was taken as an insult. Then another time, the Austin Cooper went dead. Ex had to push the car, but not for long. Out of nowhere, 4 guys came to help.. right to the nearest gas station!!
Thank you God for taking care of Darwin. May the chemos keep on helping him Pegi.
My day? It was crazy. Remember that pregnant cat, Nubie that Kel rescued? Well, after 4 weeks in the shop with her newborns, she decide to place her kids one at a time at the front door steps!
Good heavens!! I had to pick them up and make a nest for them indoors as it was drizzling. Nubie refused to come in the house, and now I'm feeding them every few hours till Kel makes a part of his shop more secure, where she can't get out!
All 5 babies are now waiting for their 3rd feeding!!
LK, I don't have those daylilies. They're part of the ones that I'd love to have but cost too much. So they're my dream lilies for now!
I can't leave it alone. it was getting full of crab grass and had some daylilies really looking for a home since we moved
Chemo treatment today, all went well. It doesn't seem to be taking a toll on him now and hope that keeps up. No more appointments this week, but next week he has 2. Will have the breathing test and then infusion for bones. He says if only he can get his strength back, but he has to work on that himself. He just sits too long in his recliner every day and watches TV.
Riots were starting in LA over that Zimmerman case. Police out in full force. I pray it settles down and everyone goes about their own business.
Hi Ladies,
just a quick post........I'm at Sissy's in Athena, Oregon. Left my house at 5 am yesterday morning and arrive here last night at 5:45. Today we are being lazy, but the next few days we are going to be going, going, going. But I wished the "old" ladies would make up my mind on wheather we are going camping/fishing or driving back and forth, jeez. Being a non-smoker and Sissy a heavy smoker, i am dying in this house so I stay outside as much as possible.
Was up at 5 this morning and took this pix, it's from Sissy's back yard
Hey Ladies,
My cglang55@yahoo.com email was hacked and an email sent to all my contacts with a link with a virus in..DON"T OPEN Please!!! I am so sorry about this.................getting rid of yahoo all together.......
Cindy, I got rid of yahoo years ago. I have Gmail now, and have not had any problems.
Well, I went to San Antonio and saw the gastro-enterologist, and he said just to keep up with the healthy diet, and if it flares up, go get more antibiotics. If my diverticulitis ever gets to the infected stage, then I will have to have surgery, but for now it is doing good!
I also brought back MaryAnne and Dylan with me for the week, so I will get online when I can!
Dylan trying to get out of the stroller.
And today is MaryAnnes 6th Birthday, she had a party at Chucky cheese yesterday.
Morning sistahs.
Didn't check in yesterday as I didn't have much to say so nothing unusual on the agenda. But the weather has been excellent.
Pegi, is Darwin on anti-depressants? Inertia can deplete his strength. Maybe you need to pull out those boots and leather whip and get him motivated!!! Lol!!
Hello Sissy!! I know you're happy to see her Cindy, the smoking effect is only temporary, so do enjoy Oregon!!
No problems with Yahoo here since the first day I got it. Touch wood, it's been 15 years. I had to close my Hotmail account due to virus. But any mail that look suspicious to me from family and friends that headed with a "Hi" I don't open.
I was also taught to create a bogus 'friend' email address like..... aaaaa@(any domain).com , and if that addy was returned to me as an invalid email addy, then I'll know that my email is hacked. So far, so good.
Awwwww.... of course LK... time with the granduns are always much more important than online, unless to share pictures!!!
Me want to squeeze and hug Dylan and kiss him and rub his head!!
MaryAnne must have had a blast at Chucky Cheese! Did she win lots of toys there? I recall my nieces and nephew not wanting to eat their pizzas, but wanted to play all the time. There's not Chucky Cheese in France then, so I relented!
Sis Kathy how are you doing? No more accidents please!!
She came home with lots of pressies!
Yea I got rid of yahoo, now have hotmail and gmail.
Yesterday was a typical Oregon weather day....started out cloudy, windy, sprinkles, then got very warm, but still cloudy, then about 5 or so thunder and lightening all night long. Going to Washington today to Joann's, and a few other places. Then we are going to start making stepping stones. We will be going fishing/camping starting Saturday.
No Jaye, Darwin isn't on anti depressents. He slept until 1 PM today, but that was because he was up watching TV in early hours of the morning. It isn't too often that he has a hard time sleeping. I'm usually the one who is up on computer or reading during the wee hours. He decided he really doesn't need the wheel chair so guess with call and cancel it. Only pay $6.40 a month co pay, but if he gets along OK with his cane more power to him. He asked for egg and grits when he got up, so far his appitite is doing OK.
Still too hot for me. Thinking " cooler" doesn't do much for me. Trying to get caught up with chores, but not getting very far.
Glad to hear he refused the wheel chair. Walking when he can will be good for him.
He had the wheel chair when he fell and got his shiner. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. LOL
goodness so far behind :(

Spent the day with my granddaughter....oh what fun but am I ever tired. We saw Turbo , had dinner out and then had a leisure trip to the frozen yogurt store. Oh did I forget....our usual trip to the bookstore. Calling it a day!
Good morning sistahs.
Sue, I wish you all the best at the fair. Hope you get more 1st place. Are the twins competing in anything?
Hey Marion! Thought the girls would drag you to "Despicable" or have they seen that already. Great tradition you've started.. bookstore to end an outing.
May Darwin's legs be strong and never have to use a wheel chair, Pegi.
Was an interesting afternoon. Met a young Hispanic couple with a cute little kid and Kel suddenly recalled having known the young lady before. She grew up in the area and had known Kel from her parents dealings with him.
She's very intelligent, had straight As in school, and when graduated, she's offered full scholarship to distinguised college. Unfortunately,. she couldn't produce a social security card as she had lived illegally for 12 years here. So, her scholarship or any chances of furthering her education is revoked.
It's a sensitive subject, and NC is not forgiving on immigrants but yet close an eye on immigrant labor for the tobacco fields.
I do hope she'd pursue her citizenship asap, after I told her that in some states, even if the kids are born in here, the parents can be deported! Her Hispanic husband was an illegal, but living in Texas, the laws were much more flexible on law abiding immigrants. He said it was easier for him to apply for citizenship.
How immigration laws differ from state to state, and here I think they're all the same!
Will be spending a day with my church sister, Carolyn.
Have a great day everyone.
say a prayer for me sistahs. mike put $1,400 in the bank Monday, he will be home today and I only have 500.00
thank god I go for my sleep study tonite
Hope the bank correct that today, Sis.
no mistake, I spent it!!! so pray hard
ROFL!!! I see you're back to normal Sis!! Lolol!! Michael I am certain, will just shrug his shoulders!!
Hopefully today is the last day of our extreme heat. I'm pretty wrung out, just don't handle weather extremes well.
Karen, I had to carry with me iced water all the time!! Mercifully our highest hasn't reached triple digits... yet.
Stay cool, Karen. I dread to look at the electric bill for this and next month!
I also have iced water at hand at all times and drink almost constantly. Just hate feeling like this. LOL next week I'll be in TN at DGDs and her air will be set so low, I'll have to bundle up.
I'll soon be leaving for sister Carolyn's home. She never had to use her a/c even in 90s heat, just the ceiling fans will be on. Her house is a double brick, and sits right smack dab in the middle of huge trees.
Yep, bundle up Karen! Lol!
Have a food visit with your friend Jaye!
Kathy, I agree with Jaye, just tell Michael, it went to good use, he will understand.
That's a huge electric bill, we just use ceiling fans and we have double panned windows which really helps. Would be nice to have trees around us though. We are always getting calls to buy solar panels, that's out of the question. Wish these people would lose my phone number.
Kathy, no worries about the sleep study...just lots of wires and things but you will sleep inspite of them. Hoping for some really good results and if you have sleep apnea, well I will enjoy the company. I can not believe how much better I sleep since I have been using my CPAP.
Jaye, yes I have a couple of readers.....Abbi more so than Catie-Beth but atleast CB is reading. They are growing up way to fast for this grandma!!!
Ouch Kathy on that utility bill.....we have been lucky so far with lower ones but then it may be due to the amount of trees around the house.
Pegi, that is good news about Darwin......hope it continues to go well.
kids are doing goats , rabbits and chickens for fair
i m doing jams, jellys , corn, beans, salsa, apple sauce, pie , biscuits, and pickled beets, and ???
have fun on your trip Jaye
Kathy good luck on telling Michael on the money. LOL i have the same problem LOL . i spend,,, tim works .... i spend :)
Pegi good to hear the news on Darwin.
pretty busy next few weeks. fair and back to school before we know it! aug 22 . wow where did summer go ?
