Suzanne just called, they were doing a c scan an Audrey Rose and she went into seizures again..waiting to here..got to get her to another hospital for MRI!
I told her they should be and I'm sure they are pushing for Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
One of these days Betty, I am taking I-75 north all the way across the border!!! Well, maybe fly now that I think about it. I so miss seeing my niece and her family..been way to long since we got together.
Off to get some new windshield wipers put on the car...later.
Well, if you're driving North on I-75, you better by golly be getting off at exit 36 and heading a mile down the road to see your tree in person!!!!
We had a terrible wind storm on Tuesday night and then another one on Wednesday afternoon. We lost trees and limbs galore! Two of my friends, (Sherry and Pat) came this morning and helped pick up sticks, leaves and limbs. Didn't take too long with the three of us doing it (2 1/2 hours) , but Bill put in several hours yesterday while I was helping with the garden party.
Still praying hard for Ann/Melissa, and babies. Will add the rest to my prayers, too.
Thought I'd share a few pictures with you.
Rock LK sent me. (Yes, Betty did put your name on it!)
Seeds from Betty's garden last year have given me pretty pink mallow!
Broken fairies
Some crazy daisies!
Beautiful!!!
Joyce I have to ask. How many of the rocks in your garden are "Canadian"? LOL
Cookie, I will get another rock out to you in a few days. Do you want me to paint my name on it? Or do you prefer to do it?
Some storm to have broken a rock..must have been a USA rock lol...our Canadian ones are much tougher.
You've got great friends Joyce, knew some of them would be out to give you a hand..hugs to Sherry. Hope Bill didn't over extend himself.
Debbie. this trip alone she had a trunk full, not just rocks but boulders..think she had quite a few when she was here and went home with Janice..
Mallow grew well, will have to get more seeds to you, white for sure.
Poor little fairies, they were safer here weren't they?
Joyce 21 more outfits and you will catch up to me..aren't they fun to wear, you almost think you are wearing nothing, best part wash/dry and ready to wear..for travelling not a wrinkle. Didn't you buy 2 or 3, which others did you get?
Twins we shall be, not hard to take for sure!
press send to quick.
went to the farmers market in town at 3pm, drats, didn't start until 4pm so off I go again..
on a roll, finished my travelling tarp, this afternoon did an iron caddy, will do another to travel with me, always one of the girls wanting to iron something..this way it totes the iron, open it up and its an ironing pad..

Hi Everyone, Prayers and hugs for everyone. Betty, especially big hugs for you as you keep track of everyone.
Tony has to take his daughter to the dentist in Santa Rosalia tomorrow so he's gone until Monday. We've been organizing and neatening most of the week. Now that one room is done enough to roganie on a long-term basis i'm getting clothes and craft stuff sorted. Unearthing things that have gotten buried in all the organizational moves. Sending bags of clothing, fabric, etc home with Tony. Found a pair of jeans in his size this morning; need mending under both back pockets. His wife can do that easily. Otherwise, they are in good shape - good jeans are like gold here.
Still hot and humid. I think next week we can make a mold to pour blocks to insulate the outside walls. I'm hoping Tony's sons can help collect palm logs for us to shred and use in the blocks. They are both young and strong. If they come early in the morning there are lots of dead palms along the road and using them in building would keep them from just getting burned.
Our hot and humid weather continues with no relief in sight. We hunker down for it like we used to hunker down for winter in Sault Ste. Marie.
I'm going back to tv poker, sorting fabric so I can get to a sewing machine and appreciating the a/c.
hugs, Katie
p.s. we have dragonfruit continuing to put out blooms which are gorgeous (up to a foot long); hoping to get fruit someday.
Heaven and earth likely will stop..here a sit with a glass of wine, feet up, relaxing..should be on front page of the community paper..
Made a quick ride to Farmers market a the park, when did strawberries get to $5 ..bought 2 anyway, worth the treat..they said likely last week for them, just too hot!
Think tomorrow night I'll have fresh yellow beans, new potatoes, corn and steak..not normally am I up on cooking but mouth watering here for home cooked meal/fresh veggies.
Katie, great idea putting Tony's boys to work! are the blocks made out of cement with the leaves and bark used as a filler for strength?
You must be feeling better if you are up taking on repurposing, recycling and thinking of sewing.
Prayer circle tonight ladies, few more for that Miracle.. Melissa had c-section, babies are alive, touch and go, they are fighters! Born this afternoon, Ann and father has seen them, less than 2 lbs. Melissa is being kept sedated so hasn't seen them.
Ann says to thank you all for your prayers and concerns
Oh Betty, prayer prayers prayers for all.
Thanks Debbie..was afraid to answer the telephone..
All depends on those little lungs, if they got the surfactant in time. Born alive is the first hurdle, keep the miracle going.
Well they are in a respirator so here's hoping. Ann could use something good in her life! These two little ones would fit the bill...
Thanks for the update Betty, sending lots of prayers for the family!
(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) for Ann too!
Nothing much going on here.
Knee's better
*Hugs* to all
Restless night, thanks for prayers
Susan, wondered if you were up and walking seeing you hadn't posted for a bit..did Bob get the rv?
Cody what have you been up to?
yes - put my leg up for a few days, good now - had anti-inflammatory meds & pain killers that "put me out" lots of napping
Bob got rv - saw lots of devastation on the way.
Sending congratulations and prayers for Ann and her family. I believe in miracles!!!!!
Morning,
gorgeous day out there, having coffee amongst the flowers and the birds are singing me a song.
Susan glad you are on the mend..glad that Bob got the rv back home, won't take mother nature long to put everything right, for rebuilding guess it's up to everyone else, will be a long process.
Barb, I will tell Ann, you know, don't think I said congratulations, isn't that terrible..perhaps I was more geared on those two little ones fighting for their lives; here's hoping they've had a good night.
grass / trimming has to be done today but will wait a bit longer, no sign of movement at any of my neighbors so guess I shall let them sleep!
I'm on a mission today, started the match to the stained glass lamp I made Paul about 5 years ago, will take inventory of what I don't have i.e. base, solder and various chemicals so will take a quick run to the stained glass studio..doesn't open until 10 so yet another wait.
Trying to finish off a few unfinished projects before I start a new one..
Those sweet babies have so many praying for them.
Technology has come a long way, and, it's in their corner.
Miracles do happen, I won't lose hope for their survival.
Off to ANOTHER pre op assessment today. Seems it's the law I be seen by my family physician who is on holiday, so, walk in clinic time. Not thrilled with this!!
Who knows what Lake Superior will give us today..rain,humidity.... Too many options :)
Stay well everyone
M
Update:
Suzanne...her granddaughter Audrey Rose is getting eeg this morning to look at the head..more seizures
Ann
called to Say Adison Marie 1lb 10 oz and Alexandro Michael 1 lb. 13oz. are still with us. Dr. told them it's a touch and go situation but are impressed that they are doing as well as they are. Alexandro had difficulties breathing, gave him a shot of caffeine and he started to breath. Both are breathing on their own, with help of a mask which is a good sign. Hoping to get milk from Melissa so they can swab some in the babies mouths, say good bonding opportunity.
Ann said that if all goes well they might let Melissa go home tomorrow or Monday, babies of course will be in the hospital for at least 3 1/2 months if not more if all goes well.
The size is what amazes Ann, got to call her grandma for the first time. She was up at 6am, picked up a coffee at Timmies, was sitting down near the Humber River where Mike used to fish, says she's gabbing away to him, giving her the sense of peace she so needs at this minute.
She was to go to a family reunion but she will return to Melissa's place, with the storm they had last week and no hydro into this week all the food/freezer food has gone bad, was the last thing they were worrying about so she will go back, clean everything out then go grocery shopping.
she will leave the new parents to have time on their own, Melissa hasn't seen the babies so she's waiting for the daddy to see them for the first time..she's terrified.
Ann says that all the tubes, machines are so miniature that it's not as overwhelming to see them as they are. She will go this afternoon and spend some time.
Darlene
Darlene just calling, bit stressed out, everything is started to hit her..leaving her home, her mom not doing well, missing her Dad and Mike..still a lot for her to do, had some concerns re waiting for cupboards to be built so she can store some of her stained glass/oils/tools etc. so I told her I would make myself available next weekend other than when I have to attend Suzanne and Lenny's 30th anniversary b.b.q. which I think they should cancel seeing all that is going on with Audrey Rose, but unless something gets worse they will do it. Then the following week I told Darlene I would go every night after work and help out.
And all this before 9:30 a.m.
Betty I so thought of you when I saw this. Only because of one person.
http://www.pickledish.com/2013/07/12/saddest-garage-sale-ever/
Betty, the WLs have just issued a heat warning for all of next week. Hope Darlene has ac.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers to Melissa, her SO , those 2 precious babies and of course Grandma Ann.Hope someone thinks to get a photo of the first time Melissa gets to see her babies. Well dang! Not that they didn't have enough on their plate to begin with but to have their hydro go out is just a kick in the shins. What part of TO did they move to?
Need to cut the lawn but can't decide whether to do it now or go to the farmers' market first. Market closes at noon so I think I will venture in to the village.
Susan glad your knee is feeling better and that Bob got the RV home safely.
M don't you just love the laws! No common sense needed for some of them that is for sure. When my DH was first diagnosed with cancer an Ortho surgeon called us on a Sun afternoon saying we were to meet him at Day Surgery the next morning. Well Day Surgery staff threw a hissy at us as there was no paperwork and WE must have gotten it all wrong. Right in the middle of this blast Dr Yen walked in. He let the woman spill out her venom and then turned and quietly said"The Motts are here at my request and this is emergency surgery, there is no paperwork." The attitude dropped instantly.... I know the desk at Day Surgery is faced with people every day scared out of their wits, angry, the whole 9 yards of emotions but even on a Mon am at 6am these people should be greeted with a smile at least.
Farmers' Market won .... off I go.
A few years ago, when Todd had his bleeding ulcer, at first we did not know what was going on. He was in the bathroom and passed out, so I called the family Dr, and told them what happened. She told me he was probably having a heart attack, give him 2 aspirin and get him the ER stat! That is what I did, and when we got to the ER, I told them I am here and waiting for my DR. the lady in admitting said there is paper work to do, and as I stood there arguing he is having a heart attack, he needs to be seen now, in comes the Dr, and just grabbed his wheel chair and pushed him in the back room. As she was going through the door, she yelled out, we will do paper work later. Thank God he did not have a heart attack, it was a bleeding ulcer, but it was just as serious, he was in the hospital a week and had 5 pints of blood given to him!
Good old hurry up and wait. I think we all have had an experience like that at one time or another. Norm has been so very fortunate with his treatment center. No problems and never an attitude. We are grateful.
Karen, that article brought me to tears. I would have had to buy them all....
Busy day today. Got two quilts back from the long-armer so have bindings to sew. Keeps me sitting and keeps me busy. Foot is driving me crazy so sitting will be good today.....
It looks like rain here but the WL said no. Hope not as it is a big race day at the speedway....We like it when people come and support our state economy-heehee.
I know Barb, I was so moved by it. I have many afghans, throws, sweaters, baby set, tatted, knitted and crocheted items made by my grandmother and mother. I try to share them out through the family so each will have a bit of the love that went into them to hold onto. Especially the ones who remember my grandmother, she so enjoyed making them and I want others to realize this.
Believe Barb that Bernie is at that race! See have family supporting you. Lol
Ohhh pictures please..what do they charge for machine quilting in your area...drats if I had my machine back I could be quilting but nope stained glass it is..much the same, cutting and fitting pattern together.
Sorry to hear you are hurting..I find hand sewing bindings relaxing.
Dianne, not sure, somewhere near Humber river! Beautiful breeze for us today..bought a roast and am thinking of starting up the BBQ to cook it, wonder if I have to do something special 1st time I start BBQ? Better I call Greg, Lordy don't even know if I've propane..last time I used it was when I had the sisters gathering last year. Let me know if you find the prices are extra high this year?
Karen, off to check the link..
Lots of positive and not so positive experiences with our illnesses...would have to say like Barb and Norm it's more positive than not
Omg, truly is sad..will have to ask some who I've given to or plan to give to their thoughts on quilts.
Can you imagine..the hours/weeks/months it took to make..I can almost guarantee I'd not have kept my mouth shut, would have bought them all first before giving her the what for..
You got to wonder about our treasures, perhaps not!
Thanks for sharing Karen
Food for thought.
Do know the one I labored over is not appreciated and likely a throw for the dog..live and learn
I think we all have people like that in our lives too Betty. And as much as we say we love the process - it hurts when our work is not appreciated. But we learn who to do for and who not....
Thx
That we do Barb..
Hot out there, waiting a bit before cutting grass, just made a batch of hypertufa, few stems and a mushroom lol. In the morning there is likely enough to make a few mushrooms for the base then all the glass vases will be stored..just cleared a spot under the back verandah, thank goodness it's closed in so all that mess is hidden..must move a few things seeing as Greg will try to have central air unit done next week.
Now it's break time..Greg told me what to watch for, he's bust washing down his house, think he is lookng at another, told him not to come over as I was capable just wanted to know if something I should know..nice and clean now, will put a roast for 10 for supper, should do seeing I'm only one.
Think Greg/Mel are going to Wasaga after chores, great day to ride the Spider..wish it were I
Marion, here is hoping you got to stop and find some fabrics on your way to Atlanta..safe travels
Karen, beautiful article, thanks for sharing ^_^
Betty, love the babes names, and i continue my thoughts and prayers, for AudreyRose as well .. of course Melissa and hubby and Ann included.
I am done in .. thought the visit today would be in and out .. BUT .. this doc too found a MURMUR in my heart and, has pushed the panic button (ever so lightly) .. i MUST have an echocardiogram at the local hospital THIS coming week .. he has sent the paperwork in ..
Ya know.. I have about had it !!
This growing old is for the flippin birds !!
Think I need a nap !
~M~
"M" I can't blame you but if they feel the test is in your best interest you got to go with it, best to have it checked now than finding out during surgery that something was amiss! Am sure it's all overwhelming..soft hugs coming your way.
You are so right about growing old, look st the alternative though!
Opted to cook inside, made roast, up yellow beans,carrots/corn, golden seasonal Mac salad, strawberry shortcake. No call from Greg so taking it they won't be here, more fun in Wasaga beach anyway.
Wnt to Jon me?
Oh M you sound just like my daddy. Exactly what he used to say about growing old.You sure didn't need that stressor on top of everything else.
Now Betty, in my home the dog would get the quilt because it was treasured. I swear Diesel has better quality bedding than I do. Stormy was given a quilt the day we brought him home and when he went over the bridge I washed it for what I thought was 1 last time only to find I like to wrap myself in it when I read at night.MIL sure did nice work.
Farmers' Market was a bust - only 5 vendors. Not much to offer but I did get some tiny green beans picked this morning and some small red taters. But that was it - the Bread lady wasn't there nor the people who sell meat raised on their farm. Their lamb chops are excellent. Everything was expensive but I had thought it would be before I set out. Have a feeling Betty all fresh produce will be very expensive this year. I wouldn't want to be a cash crop farmer this year.
Barb what are you and Norm up this weekend? Poor Sean, by the looks of it he won't get in any games this weekend. On the news Fri. nights this 1 Toronto station shows sports bloopers and such from the week - 1 was a clip of a couple of TBall little fellas wading around the diamond up to almost their knees in water. What a forlorn look they had on their face.
Hope Marion had a safe journey to Atlanta.
Didn't get the lawn cut - when I came home it started to rain. Didn't rain much but was enough to dampen my ambition to cut the lawn. Not going out to do it now so tomorrow it will be. I will not be kind like Betty and wait until I think my neighbours are up either.
LK I was sorry to read about the treatment Todd was given at the hospital. Sometime this winter a man went in to complete cardiac arrest in the Kingston ER waiting room - lots of press about that. The last 2 times Warren was in the hospital he was on the same floor just at different ends. The difference in the care he got the second time he was in other than my incident with the young resident was outstanding. Hard to fathom!
I gave Diesel a Benadryl about an hour ago in hopes it would calm his itchies. Poor little guy - all 128 lb of him! His belly is red raw from bug bites. I think the Benadryl conked him out though as he is sound asleep on the hearth.
Think I smell Betty's roast and no it is not burning!! Have a piece for me Betty.
Dianne
