Big Sigh, drats/drats and more drats...

Ann just called crying, on her way to the city..Melissa's water broke, very little they can do, not much chance of survival at 25 1/2 weeks..my heart is broken..

We had such a nice talk last night, how she yearned for a grandchild but didn't want to get her hopes up too high..she was on the calendar, marking the weeks..if if if only they could make 30 weeks, then each day after that would give them a chance..guess if by a miracle they do survive, likely there will be physical/mental issues..

Please pray, many of you on-line here have met Ann, many know of Ann and her struggles .

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry to hear about the babies! Please keep us posted? Sending prayers for them!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Keeping Ann and the whole family in my prayers. May God be with them and as hard as it is to remember - He knows best.....

Thank You all for your good thoughts and prayers. My family and I deeply appreciate your kindness and concern.

Sending prayers and positive thoughts for Ann and family. My goodness that woman does not need anymore heartbreak - she has had more than her share these last months. Focusing on a miracle .... and they do happen.

Raining here again this morning. It did stop overnight for a few hours so I got see a beautiful show put on by the fireflies. The cats can't quite figure out what is flashing at the windows so spent quite awhile trying to pat or catch these bright flashes. Doesn't take much to amuse me does it?

Judy I think you and Debbie need to go out car shopping.Together! That would put a scare into your DHs wouldn't it? Just the thought of the cost of a new vehicle throws me for a spin. Heavens just a plain jane 4x4 truck costs as much as our first house did back in the day.

M is today the long awaited doc's apptment? I so understand about having the surgery date but knowing it is still weeks away. Here in my area they won't give you a definite date for replacements just within a 2 - 3 week period. So you sit at home afraid to go out and miss the phone call as they would just go on to the next person on the list. I am not sure that is what they did but in my mind that was true. lol Hope the date is sooner rather than later M.

My mouth is watering for a cheeseburger. Where that came from I have no idea but I really do want one .... like now. Going to go rummage through the freezer and see if I can satisfy that craving without having to go into the village.

Sometimes they can stop labor if it has started. My youngest the water broke way ahead of time, it was uncomfortable for me( I now know what diaper rash feels like), but they managed to keep him in place for a while. That was 48 years ago so maybe modern methods can help. Not trying to spread false hope but miracles do happen.

Prayers for those little babies and Family. Has been so much for all of them. Remember the little girl
I used to watch, Angelina? She was 1 lb 3 oz when born at 26 weeks. She is 9 now and wears glasses,
only issue. Praying for miracles!!!

Betty, I had asked Paul for help to fix my car, it had something wrong. He kept putting it off, ignoring me, thinking
I was making things up because YES I want a new car. BUT it died on way to Rochester yesterday up in the city.
I was so mad/angry/hurt and "I told you so" wanted to come out of my mouth...but it didn't. Could be a week or more til I get it back.

I don't even want a "new" car...would be happy with a used...maybe 2007 or so. This one is costing us monthly repairs of what a car payment would be anyhow.

Oh Karen, so hope so..they did take the stitch out that they had tried in hopes of prolonging the pregnancy. Ohhh forgot you did meet Ann when we were up in Frankenmuth the gang of us..
you know, was just thinking, very few on this thread haven't met Ann..

Let's hope

Dianne, too bad you don't have a restaurant near by that you could pop in and get one, love that there is one a few doors down from me and boy do I take advantage of it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

hugs Debbie, why men don't listen..I could tell when something was going wrong by the sound, much the same, nothing really wrong till the wrong happened..
comes a point when you do have to consider that repairs are monthly payments, hope you get one.

Tell you a funny story, was just when the boys were like 3 and 4.. Roger bought me a volkswagen and he bought at Starfire Convertible. Loved the bug..

The elderly owners at his work Collins/Greg loved me, on a friday morning of a long weekend I dropped in to drop things off and on the way could feel the brakes a bit spongy, told pops about it and he said (Roger was on the road) to take the convertible and leave the volkswagen, ohhhh that wasn't a good idea I thought but pop told me no way was I heading north without brakes and he'd deal with it.

Now here comes Roger, excited about heading north, knew I was already there, sun shinning, ahhh convertible ride...got the the office and there sat a volkswagon, need I say he wasn happy, more than not happy.

He argues with pop and said I just wanted the convertible..in he gets, starts the bug, opens her up, goes to stop and smashes into the side of the building NO BRAKES...smilling, I personally along with pop thought it funny.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Betty, I am praying everything turns out well for the babies....as Karen and Dianne said "miracles do happen"

Apparently Chantal didn't have much effect where Kim is in the DR...rain, that she can deal with. Sadly we are having some loud thunder and I noticed rain drops on the lake....not again...my yard is so sour now!!!

Debbie, we had a car that kept giving me trouble at one time. Finally I told hubby to take it for a week....got a new one soon after. The dumb thing would stop running every time you made a left hand turn...go figure. Good luck with getting it repaired. I am "toying" with the idea of getting a new car next year (2004 Highlander currently) but then this one is running so good...minor work done and I don't know if I really want a new that bad to pay the prices now. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Dianne, come on down...know some great places to get cheeseburgers...besides those are my favorite also. No plan hamburger for me. My youngest GD likes cheeseburgers to hear her tell it but she has figured out how to order the cheese on the side....strange kid!!! Have never seen any one so small eat so much cheese.

Jean, good to see you post. Praying you continue to improve and please, take care of yourself. We need you hear with us.

Hugs and T&Ps to all that need some, most especially Ann's daughter ..

Home from my appt with the surgeon .. I am on the QUICK list as I am in worse shape than anticipated :-(
The bones your hip is nestled into (the pelvic girdle) is looking a bit more compromised than he likes.
He is amazed I can still make it to the bathroom .. as a matter of fact, so am I .. but I'll be darned if I'm going to let THAT go !!!!
So .. I now sit and wait and THINK !!! Lordie, I am a wreck.
Keep thinking that the pain will soon be gone, but, at what cost .. will I walk again ?

NAP time

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" not the best of news however your now on the 'quick' list and that is good news..positive thinking, YOU WILL most definately walk again without pain, Miracles are happening and your are on the list for one.

Have your nap and the world will look better once you wake up, think it's the news you got, tires one out worrying about the future.

Marion, will Kim arrive as scheduled?

lunch time, was going to Pizzaville for their buffet, but just might go for cheeseburger lol

Lyndonville, NY

Thank you! Mine is a 2002, and has 201,000 miles on it and so so rusted. It will need the flooring repaired
by winter I think. Has already had the tranny replaced two years ago and that slips now and then again.

He called garage and they can't work on it til late tomorrow or Friday...then will be the weekend I bet!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Debbie, sorry for your car woes....that's the pits, but glad that you had such a good visit with the Drs.

Praying so hard for Ann and her daughter and the little ones. Gods will, but oh please let them make it.

It went fine at Joan's Betty. I worked 7 hours and she asked me to come back some night this week. It's been so hot here for the last few days. Humidity is AWFUL! Supposed to have rain later this evening and it's bringing a cold front with it. Supposed to be really nice starting tomorrow through the weekend. Joan sent me home with a hosta on my "Gotta have it" list. It's Galaxy, a really pretty streaked. It is only my second streaked, so I'm hoping it doesn't revert and go to all green. Some of the leaves are green and she told me to separate them out and leave just the streaky ones. Haven't had a chance to plant it yet, in fact I have a bunch of stuff that needs planting, but if it's going to cool off, seems like a good time to wait!

Bill had his followup with the cardiologist yesterday...sigh...he told us that he is 30-40% more likely to have a stroke since he's been through this P/E and heart attack and still has A-fib. So now Bill is seriously depressed thinking he might have a stroke. I'm trying to point out that he is changing his lifestyle and doing the right things so he should just stop worrying and start enjoying that AIR!!!

We had a serious storm go through here last night while I was away at the hosta club meeting. Brought down trees and made a serious mess of the gardens. Here is how awful it was. LK, remember the huge rock you sent me when I had the sistahs here? A limb fell on it and broke it!!! Luckily the fairy that was sitting on it was not harmed. Well, her wings are a little crooked now, but she's all right. Unfortunately, the two fairies that Ann painted for me were tossed about and each one has a wing broken off. Once I get things righted I'll see if they can be fixed with the E-6000. Glad I'm not expecting any groups here right now!!!!

I cleaned today (not my usual day) because Sherry asked me if I'd help her host a church womans group at her house. She's picking me up at 8:30 and dropping Abraham off. (Golden Retriever) He loves people and gets so excited he wants to jump on them, so he's going to come and hang with Cayenne while the garden party goes on. Then after she'll bring me home and pick Abe up. He'll come and stay next Tuesday as well, cause she's hosting our daytime garden club then. She was going to stick him in doggie daycare, but that costs so much! I said he'd have more fun here and it's FREE! ^_^

You would be proud of me Betty, I didn't buy a single thing last night. Of course, I'd been to a nursery the day before and got two elephant ears, and a big pot of petunias to plant on the waterfall mound. One side looks lush and beautiful, the other side died completely, now what's with that?

I'm planning on going to Kathy's. Hoping maybe Sue will ride along with me. She's back from CA, but I haven't talked to her yet. I know that time is the thing for you, Betty, or I'd offer to haul you down, too!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" (Marilyn) posted on the previous thread, wow, miracles abound..

Moving right along, doc's office called... July 22nd. @ 8am is my surgical date.

My teeth are chattering!!!

"M" I'm excited, guess that is not really appropriate under these conditions but am, you've needed this scheduling for months/months...

Victoria Harbour, ON

How terrible re your storm, after all the work you've done...
You are a good girl not buying anything last night (smile) but am sure you will make up for it in the coming days.

Feel badly for Bill, must try not to be as overwhelmed with this news, must live each day like it's his last or he'll miss out on life..hard time for him losing his dad and now this. Did they have any suggestions re operation? program he can follow?

Joyce, don't give up on me, you never know what I will do but likely I'd fly if able to take a few extra days off..with having 2 weeks off at Christmas, then 1 week in March, then a week at the end of the month, need a week in October to bring Darlene to Florida besides the odd day here and there for trips so can only get so many.. How long a drive is it from you to Kathy's and how long will you stay? Mind is making plans, we'll see..not a "NO" yet.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

About 8 hours, give or take. I flew last time I went to her house. I'm open on days going down and back. Would sure be more fun if I had someone to go with me!!!

Lyndonville, NY

Ohhh the trouble that will ensue!!! You would both love it so much.

Joyce, keep reminding Bill his progress and how he is eating better, doing light exercise/walking, and each day is
closer to better health. That scared me so much going off the blood thinners with the clots in my legs,...you just
never know.

Victoria Harbour, ON

now you have me checking out Cincinatti flights, could always drive to your house..need exact dates I guess! Will be tired out from Roadtrip 2013 which I don't get back until August 11th. Think it's 10 1/2 to your house right?

Victoria Harbour, ON

could always kidnap you Debbie..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

OH my! Joyce it looks like Kathy is half ways between us. It is about an 8 hour drive from here also. Shucks Betty fly to Tally and ride up with me and Kim...provided she is able to go.

Victoria Harbour, ON

lol maybe cheaper..let me see

Verona, ON

Oh M I know its scary, probably even more so now you have the exact date but at least you have something to focus on. Our minds do wonderful things in the middle of the night especially when we are in pain. What hospital will you be going into? Not that you have a choice of many way up there, lol. As Debbie posted we will all be there with you - we've had a lot of experience these last few years and know how to be so quiet in the OR no one will know we are there. Diesel will be there and I bet Debbie brings our Miss Izzy along.

Now the use of Toodles ....... Judy uses it and my mam who was Welsh always used it. Interesting that your mam was Irish and used the word ...... maybe it is a Brit thing.

Jean so good to see you post. I was wondering how many days you were going to have to stay off of the computer. Any physio that you have to go through? Sitting here listening to Joe and sending positive thoughts your way.

The weather this afternoon has been the pits - the wind comes up, the trees shake, there is some T and L then a huge downpour for about 15 - 20 min and then the sun comes out for awhile. Only to start the cycle again after about 30 - 45 min of sun. I have to wear my wellies just to walk Diesel since the lane is so wet and muddy. There is a severe T and L Warning out for this evening and overnight.. I am going to have barnacles growing on my skin soon. All this heat, humidity and rain is drawing the black/rat snakes out of the swamps. Some of them are 8 - 10 ft long and very thick in diameter which is huge for us. Some are climbing the trees and hanging down while others just like to sun themselves while they stretch across the lane. Gives ya quite a start when you come upon one. Diesel isn't too sure what to make of them.Close your eyes Debbie ... maybe my rabbit problem will be solved by Mother Nature.

Betty I can just see the wheels turning, thinking of a way to get to fit in another excursion. Joyce and Marion are offering you some good suggestions.

Barb have you heard how your DB is feeling today?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Checking in Dianne - my brother is going to be fine!!! I'm so grateful. They caught it in time and with heavy meds, he is on the mend. Should even be leaving hospital maybe by Friday. He was soooo sick. I think it really scared him this time and that is what he needed. He doesn't always live a healthy lifestyle. But - he is my brother, I love him and I'm so grateful for all your prayers.
Can't wait until next week to get the shot in my foot!!!! I'm walking on the inside of the left foot and I know if it goes too long, I'll have more problems... The sciatica seems to be just about over thank heaven!!!
Maybe now I can start to get back to normal...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, storms are brewing, apparently heavy on 400, glad you are battening up just incase..Debbie, see might be the same for you.

Warning just came up

Potential for severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening along a cold front. This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall..Monitor weather conditions and listen for updated bulletins.

Barb, great news for both you and your brother..let's hope the shot gets you walking withought pain.

Waiting for news re Melissa..

Lyndonville, NY

We have weather warnings all over the place. Moving from Youngstown, to Lewiston....down Niagara county along the lake and to us. Said 70 MPH winds...and hail. SIL's are worried for crops if hail hits....can be a big loss.
This til 10 or 11:00 tonight

Stay safe

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

That is such good news for your Brother Barb. I know your whole family is relieved.

In my family we have a saying about good things that happen and prayers being answered......."God smiles on me....and sometimes he bursts out laughing" Today when I woke up in my own bed, I am sure I heard His laughter.

Hi Dianne. Thanks to a very astute EMT/husband, excellent follow up medical care, and the kind thoughts and prayers of my friends and family, Unless anything changes, I will not require Physical Therapy at this time..... A lot depends on me and my ability to do what I need to. Like my Mom always said...what does not kill us makes us stronger.....and i do believe that. (HUGS) to you and Diesel and Joe......GRIN

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

betty, check southwest airlines. they are usually cheapest

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, I am glad you have those snakes up your way. I don't think they are poisonous, but they would still give me a heart attack, then I would have to go change my pants!
Ladies, please be careful in those storms.
Cookie, sorry to hear the rock broke. I can send you another one? I think Betty painted my name on it? Hope your fairies can be fixed easily?
Jean, so glad your back online with us so quickly! Listen to the Dr. and follow those orders.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jean, heartfelt hug coming your way! So glad the Lord was laughing..
What a lovely saying. How long had you not been feeling well or was it sudden? Blessing your hubby knew the signs..doubtful I would..must do some research.

Debbie, be safe..think those southern gals have sent us their rain, wind, we'll let them have hail.

Imagine the farmers are hurting..we will pay more $$$ for fruit/veggies this winter.

Was going to go downstairs and finish the tarp cover I need to cover the suitcases re back rack but not into it..keep thinking of Ann/Mellisa.

Guess it will be the couch

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kathy, will check Soutwest airlines

Verona, ON

LK Debbie posted a photo of 1 of the snakes around this weekend. It is on the Pets Forum in the HWYD thread if ya want a peek at the little fella. They aren't poisonous but they sure do give you a jar when you first see them.

Thunder has started and it is loud. Cats are already under the bed and Diesel is right here beside me.

Keep safe betty and Debbie! Barb are you in the line of fire? Thea surely will be.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

How do I find the pet thread?
